@@MrSauron19 Yet I bet you were first in line to purchase what every other car journalist was selling in regards to the problems with the Quad whether they were legitimate complaints or status quo leftover from the 70's. Two years is fine for a long-term review. At seven years folks are looking to upgrade whatever they have, and anyone purchasing a seven year old car doesn't give a shit about reliability so long as the payment plan reflects that 70% loss in value. Give you a break? Reverse Uno brother.

Everybody's saying they are using their cars for 2 years, 14 months, almost 2 years (and these are all old comments), but whenever they're getting asked how their car is holding up for long term daily driving, there's just no reply. I really like the style and the class of this car, but the lack of solid info about reliability is making me skeptical.

Just came out of my e92 M3 after 6 years of ownership, ( had 2 other m3s before this one) loved the E92. What a car they are. I now have a QV. 2019 with 15 k miles. They are very special car, chassis, steering and balance is sublime. Feels so nimble and glued to the road. Despite the enormous power and torque it has, the back axle can handle it, really good traction, I drive in race mode with dampers on mid. Despite missing the glorious NA v8 in the e92 , this V6 twin turbo really puts a smile of my face. Very addictive power delivery, super smooth and pulls hard to the limiter..feels like it could pull to 7500 rpm even. Brakes take a few days, but now that I am used to them I think they q great..really strong.Possibly one of the best turbo motors I have ever driven, lovely sound also. Really Italian ! My car is vesuvio grey, it looks stunning. Crazy the amount of people that look and comment on the beauty of the car. I can see myself keeping this for a long time.

My big concerns when buying the Quad was whether it could serve as a daily driver and reliability. IMHO it is superb on both counts. The public needs to hear from owners. I am coming up on the 2 year ownership mark of my Auto Fanatic featured Ferrari Inspired Super SUV which I bought after watching your true 4 door Ferrari video. I am at 43,000 miles on the odometer and can say that I've had 0 reliability issues other than a hard misfire code on the computer. I've used my 2018 AR Stelvio QV for my daily commute from Newburgh to the Bronx under all weather conditions and never had the slightest loss of confidence in the SUV. I have serious spine issues which I got 2 surgeries so far to repair and can agree with Phil that the vehicle is superb when it comes to driver comfort. The only mod I've had done was 60mm lowering springs which Phil recommended and I love the look and feel of the SUV, not to mention that it's easier for me to get in and out after surgery. Hopefully I can keep her, I'm struggling financially after being out of work due to illness since December 27, 2019. I'll cry a river but will be grateful that I got the pleasure of experiencing such a phenomenal feat of automotive engineering.

It has had a couple of electrical gremlins. I did have a low voltage issue issue at 2.5 years. Got a new battery, and two weeks later came out to a COMPLETELY dead car. Jumped it, and it was gone, ie, no problems since. I do occasionally (3-4 times in 2.5 years) get a warning light about service electronic throttle control. It clears with my OBD II scanner, and doesn't affect performance at all. The car is a velvet hammer. It truly is a four door Ferrari. Mine's on a four year corporate lease. I may buy it, because I do truly love it. Mine's Misano blue, completely loaded, 2018.

Disappointing is practically Nissan's middle name at this point. They haven't been good since 2008.
Squandered trust and corner cutting has led them to have such a fall from being in the top 3 japanese brands to being less reliable than the koreans these days.
Looking for a better looking car that's reliable? See the 2021 Genesis g80... V6 trim, of course.
I might add that I'm not a really a Nissan hater. Last 2 cars were Nissan's which is why admitting how bad the company has become is something I mourn.

Regarding the brakes, I have the CCB and it seems consistent but it definitely different than other sports cars.
I also had an issue when beating on the car. After full day of hard driving. I was actually pulling back home and my car just started stuttering and the check engine light came on. I pulled over to the side and the car shut off by itself. Service engine throttle controller popped up as a message as well. I tried to restart but it wouldn't turn or run smoothly. I turned it off and I let the car sit for like 10 min and it restarted smoothly but stayed in limp mode. Drove the car 3-4 times and it went back to normal and all codes went away. I did not get a chance to take it to dealer. This occured about 4 months ago.
2 days ago had the service engine throttle light come on while in race mode but driving normal. Went to dealership immediately before code cleared and they stated they needed to replace a boost solenoid valve. Part will be in 5 days. Restarted the car and it runs perfect and all lights went away. But will get the valve replaced and hope it never shows up again.
Hopefully they fix your car for good. Good luck.

    Hi, great ownership update!
You have best content about this car on youtube I think. QV 2019, had two hickups this summer. Always when very hot weather. First was when after driving hard in race mode for over an hour, I stopped the car in front of my house for cca half an hour and then started it again and went straight for a highway, putting it to dynamic, going hard acceleration to cca 250km/h engine light went on. Dissapeared on fourth start. I had kinda low gas at that moment so I thought that was the reason. Than, couple days later, almost same thing but with gas tank more than half full. Also very hot weather, an hour or so going hard in race mode, than switching of to normal, cca twenty minutes in traffic, then againg highway, dynamic mode to 250km/h and engine light went on. 4th start it disappeared. Was working without problem ever since. Never went to dealership since last week and they weren't able to locate the error code anymore. So I guess I won't be pushing it too hard in the future when the weather is too hot:)
No problems with overly eager alarm or involuntary imprisonment yet. Also bought the front grill cover straight from Koshi and it still looks great after a year or so. They even add the logo rim cover which is nice.
For the couple small issues with the car for me: lights do seem always aimed too high, people hate me for it. Tried to adress it with almost no result. Then there is the tiny noise from the a/c when the temperatures are approaching zero celsius. So annoing. Do not looking forward to that one as winter inevitably approaches. Then here in Europe you must be very precise with placing your front licence plate, otherwise the front sensors goin mental time to time. And last but not least, the thumping noise between 160km/h and 200km/h. From what I've heard it's diff noise but some people said they replaced it and the sound stayed so I got used to it. At least I'm trying to keem my speeds under 160 most of the time and good thing is, that that 160-200 gap can be crossed really quickly if needed:)
But as you said I also would not replace it and even if I wanted to I would not know with what, It's simply just that good.
Also nice track choice in the beginning and the end of the video.

yes this is due to front suspension geometry it is normal, if you switch tires to a Pilot Super Sport or other tire it does not do it unless the tires are in below freezing temperatures but with OEM Corsa tires it does it all the time. I think long term i bet if you make the car shudder badly often it will wear out the inner or outer tie rods or both.

Excellent video and as well as your 1 year ownership video. I own a 2018 Giulia Quadrifoglio (Alfa Rosso exterior with yellow brake calibers) that I purchased in late Oct. 2018. Mine is exactly like yours with the exception of the front seats. I have done only a few modifications. I just replaced the air filter (BMP and Sprint air filters) and tires (Michelin Pilot Sport 4s). I had the windows tinted with ceramic tint and had the entire front portion of the car, headlights, mirrors, and B and C pillars covered with PPF (XPEL Ultimate Plus). I graphene coated the entire car, including the rims and the yellow brake calibers) myself about 2 months. The only cosmetic upgrade that I have done is to replace the plastic rear diffuser with a carbon fiber rear diffuser from Koshi Group (very expensive - over $2,700 with labor and a military discount).

Same BS with the BMW 335i when it came out in 2007. The reason was/is the direct injection and the silly high psi the pump has to provide to directly inject fuel into the cylinders. It’s a LOT to ask for a pump on a car driven on a daily basis. BMW had massive issues but since has resolved the problem and I’m sure Alfa will go through the same process since the early customers are the ones doing the R&D on long term performance and reliability. Figure I’d chime in a share that with you so you don’t start to doubt Alfa.

Just saw a British driver review his similar daily driver QV. He mentioned two things: (1) ask the dealer to make the alarm system less sensitive, (2) don't drive the car when the fuel level gives a red warning light. Fill the tank when the warning light is amber. Probably something to do with fuel pressure.

The carbon ceramic brakes have the same 'issue'. Can't say it'm really annoyed by it but it is something you have to get used to. The electric gremlins almost always start with the battery. It really is the weak spot of the car. Don't drive mine daily and always put a charger on it when I keep it in the garage for a couple of weeks. One thing I also did was changing the top 'fake leather' on the gear shifter. It's a plastic clip with the 'fake leather' over it. I removed the 'fake leather' and the upholsterer put the nappa leather over the plastic clip. Is was not easy because the leather had to be very thin but the result is great. It looks nicer but the biggest improvement is the feel. Now it feels quality.

I’m a year and a half into my ownership. 1) I had the same issue you described with the limp mode & fired off half a dozen codes randomly, 2) the security alarm has been replaced 4 times(!) & still goes off weekly so I stopped locking it altogether. 3) The front aerospitter had gotten stuck down after doing some hard breaking (twice), 4) check engine light came on when the gas lets low or I opened it up on the highway (3 times). Spent 38 days total in the dealership. All that aside, haha ... when it works it drives better than anything I’ve ever experienced! So the hassle has been worth it. Will be trading in before the warranty is up however!

Great timing! My 2018 QV just had its 2-year service today. No issues at all, but I’ve sadly only driven it around 4,000 miles in 2 years. Agreed on how the brake-by-wire user experience is influenced by different shoes. I’ve found Goodyear Welted shoes with vegetable-tanned leather soles are best for modulating it; and sneakers the worst. I now only wear monk straps, wingtips, or bluchers whenever I drive my car!
As compensation for us sticking with this ridiculous BBW system on what would otherwise be an automotive masterpiece, I wish Alfa Romeo HQ would compensate all QV owners with a complementary new pair of Carmina or Crocket & Jones shoes on each year of our ownership anniversaries 😁

Great video as always and objective which sets you apart from others.
You are absolutely spot on this with asking whether the type of shoes one is using in terms of the feel of modulation of the IBS makes a difference. For me at least, it makes all the difference. The best feel and modulation that I get is with my "Car Shoe" brand type of shoes (I shall rush to say that I have no interest in Car Shoe nor the Prada S.p.A group).
I use both moccasins and am lucky to own a pair of the Car Shoe Giulia Quadrifoglio Limited Edition racing type shoes I got together with the car. These shoes are the best for me at least for the overall feel of using the pedals including braking gently while in traffic but also when needing to really step on the brakes. On the flip side, Oxfords or Chelsea types do not work for me as the leather soles are rather slippery and do not provide me with enough confidence. In my humble opinion, the pedals work well with shoes constructed of hard rubber soles.
I have never experienced in what is now going soon onto the 3rd year of ownership (about 22,000 miles) any of other other issues you mentioned in the video, including the horn and the driver side lock mechanism and I must also say that my Quadrifoglio is not lowered thus I have no opinion about that. Neither have I upgraded to any after market parts in terms of carbon fiber inserts.
I have however experienced two things: the car threw a code for not being able to detect the electronic key (which simply proved to be an issue of replacing the battery that is found inside the key fob underneath the key itself) and a rather more serious one where while I was driving at semi hard acceleration from 2nd to 3rd gear it threw a "home limp" mode (the engine continue to run however with only 3 cylinders and the power felt as if All Weather had been chosen on the DNA selector) which proved to be a faulty turbo valve solenoid on the left cylinder bank (changed under warranty). Once it the solenoid valve was replaced, all was fine again and I have not had the same problem since.
Finally, one irritating thing (of cosmetic character) which to my information has only been addressed with the introduction of the GTA and GTAm (which features a titanium exhaust system and a different design) is the poor quality of the vinyl compound of the rear bumper inserts around the exhaust pipe outlets. The chief mechanic at the Alfa Romeo dealership mentioned that the temperatures around the exhaust pipes over time is the root cause for the discolouration or fading of the black shade of the bumper and I was told to use vinyl protection to restore it. I had the same issue with my Maserati. Not sure if other Quadrifoglio owners experience this.
Other than that, I shall completely agree with you and share your enthusiasm in terms of this product by La Casa del Biscione. It is a masterpiece of a car and it creates an addiction that is hard to give up on. I cannot distinguish any other car in this segment that offers the same levels of excitement, performance, practicality, style and feel other than the Giulia Quadrifoglio. Mine is a late 2018 model.
Owners of this car would know what it feels like when in Race Mode and pushing this car through corners, how the combination of the responses of driver, engine, gear box, suspension and chassis dynamics become one in a fluid manner that is only comparable to Ferrari cars out there. And it is exactly this dimension that sets this car apart from its competitors.

Have had my QV since May 2020 and it's pure heaven driving it daily. One issue i had was with the stop-start function in heavy traffic. It refused to start after about 20 stop starts and had to wait about 30 minutes. Alfa emergency service suggested remote locking the car wait for a few minutes and try starting again as that sometimes re-sets the electrics. That worked. Only other issue has been losing the engine mode function which was due to a battery voltage issue. All that was required was to unplug and re-plug the battery to get it working again. All in all the best car I've ever owned despite the glitches.
