I currently own a Giulia, but your review of the Stelvio was accurate, fair, balanced and appropriate. I enjoyed your scoring system and for design, definately it gets a 10! Well done.
@@CarCoachReports Yes, people out there buying the usual suspects luxury cars are really missing out by not driving these new Alfa Romeos first. I've owned a lot of BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Porsche. My Giulia is far superior to all of those. Performance, gas mileage, handling, appearance. Its very difficult to beat "Made in Italy" for almost anything. Clothes, shoes, food, sports cars.
Just picked up my 2022 Ti. This and other similar videos were a huge help in making my decision. Great looking, all the smiles when driving. Safe and stylish. What more is there? Ciao!
I always find funny the comment "you buy horse power, you drive torque". I agree with the notion behind it though, because when we talk about power we're always thinking about the engine maximum power and not the power curve of an engine. But in the end, the fact is ,we always drive power. Torque x rpms is what gives us power, power is what determines how easy or fast we can accelerate. So, the higher the torque, less engine revs we need for the same amount of power. But it's always power that we're looking for. ....and that's why I love turbo charged engines. We get loads of torque, meaning power, at low and mid revs. Maybe not as fun, but surely a lot more useful than getting 280hp from this Stelvio at 4800 rpms, is getting 80hp at 1600rpms or 100hp at 1850. We need a good 4500cc V8 engine to be able to beat that at such low revs!
Also commenting on boot space: With all the seats up, the Q5, X3 and GLC offer 550lts or 4% more boot space than the Stelvio and X4 at 525lts, which in turn is 5% more than a Macan or a XC60. Therefore, I don't think the boot space would be a decision factor.
One of the best reports about the Stelvio I've seen so far - thank you. And - franky - this model simply has the sexiest 'arse' out there of the whole car industry. But what is giving me the most pleasure driving mine already for 65'500 km is: The steering ratio. Normal cars have around 14.5 to 1. Sporty cars like porsches have 13 to 1. While the Stelvio and the Giulia have a mind numbing 12 to 1 that allows to drive this SUV like a go kart. Paired with the low weight and the 50:50 weight ratio on both axis it's pure fun for those who enjoy driving. I love it.
I have a 2019, white with red interior. Sports seats which are amazing. Does not have the updates that this model has, but it is beautiful. Had it for 2 1/2 years not one problem. It is the sports car of SUVS. By the way, I live in Buffalo New York. Are you based in Buffalo New York?
I am based in Buffalo. Love the Stelvio, one of my favorites. Glad is was error free, my girlfriend is on her 2nd one and just loves it. I’ll be at the Cars & Coffee events.
We had concerns when Alfa Romeo came back to the US, but people that have them are absolutely in love with them and have not heard a lot of complaints.

I like this one. I prefer the top tier model that has the leather dash and doors . Yes its sexy, but the Maserati Levante is wayy sexier. But this car is very nice! Its very underrated. I like the start button on the steering wheel. Its pretty cool!
I have a 2020 Stelvio Ti Sport that I use as a daily and my wife has a Maserati Levante Gran Lusso that she uses as a daily... Build quality on the Maserati is very sketchy... Front fender portholes get loose if you go through a car wash... Car had a problem with water intrusion requiring changing of a computer and all the interior carpet...Had a problem with an oil leak from a main hose to the engine... Infotainment has crashed twice.... The Alfa has been more bulletproof and is put together way better
The Levante doesn't play on the same level. It's not the same segment. The Stelvio is a compact crossover like the Audi Q5, BMW X3. The Levante competes with the X5 and Q7.
I have a pretty loaded 2018 Giulia Ti Sport Q2. My biggest complaints are the lack of a traction control button and no cooled seats. I don't regret switching from BMW at all but I'd love to see those features added.
I'm sure you'll find the driving Dynamics to be much more lively in the Giulia than in the BMW... BMW steering and feedback have become very numb.... Practically Toyota like
@@dinopappous6639 well mine was an 04 Z4 so that was quite lively. I remember correcting it a few times in the wet at high speed. The steering was very good although a bit slower than the Giulia. You're right about new BMWs.
Had a Mercedes GLC 300, like my Stelvio better. The only thing I liked better on the Benz was the Shift is on the column, where the Wiper Controls are on the Alfa. Besides that, the Stelvio is a more fun car to drive.
This is of course not true, but I understand why we say it. Their stylish, yes, however, I usually prefer Italian cars because of the engineering. Many ICE improvements that we find in most brands around the world, came from Italy, not Germany.
I'm late to the game on this car. But looking at the used car value of it, I can get at a decent price. I am looking at this for my wife. As a female how would this do as a daily driver?
I love it, but the Alfa Romeo dealership network is so spotty that even in California I'm about two hours from the nearest dealer. That's really a shame.
@@dinopappous6639 It worries me a lot. Having to drive 120 miles for any warranty related reason is asking too much of an owner. I wouldn't take that chance with a Toyota let alone an FCA product.

Commenting on the Stelvio's Tachometer 160mph top speed: The 280HP Stelvio top speed is 143mph, meaning, it might actually reach over 150mph on the tachometer under favorable conditions.

@@CarCoachReports Ahh, a person with excellent taste! :>)
From what I have heard it should be about 5.5-6.0 on zero to 60. if you want a nice sounding engine and a great handling SUV this is your car.
Excellent well-detailed review for this gorgeous machine.
Many thanks!
Just picked up my 2022 Ti. This and other similar videos were a huge help in making my decision. Great looking, all the smiles when driving. Safe and stylish. What more is there? Ciao!
Awesome! Enjoy the ride!
The little storage area to right of the shifter is for your key fob.
Thanks for the comment. I prefer naturally aspirated V8 power. Nothing like that roar too.
Safety Performance and Handling score should be higher... i agree with the rest.
Awesome ! Love you reviews ...
Thank you
Also commenting on boot space:
With all the seats up, the Q5, X3 and GLC offer 550lts or 4% more boot space than the Stelvio and X4 at 525lts, which in turn is 5% more than a Macan or a XC60.
Therefore, I don't think the boot space would be a decision factor.
Hahaha
Stelvio the best ❤️👍🏻👋👏👏
Is alpha romeo exiting us market? I am scared buying one
I love it.
Agreed. Thanks for the compliment.
I purchased a 2021 stelvio, 40k miles,o see alot of negative reviews, should I be worried? I love this vehicle
Does this vehicle have a park-hold button? Would you 2022 bmw x4 m40i for this vehicle?
I have a 2019, white with red interior. Sports seats which are amazing. Does not have the updates that this model has, but it is beautiful. Had it for 2 1/2 years not one problem. It is the sports car of SUVS. By the way, I live in Buffalo New York. Are you based in Buffalo New York?
I am based in Buffalo. Love the Stelvio, one of my favorites. Glad is was error free, my girlfriend is on her 2nd one and just loves it. I’ll be at the Cars & Coffee events.
this car is for the bold and brave.. what a spectacular suv
It sure is - love the styling!
Excellent review, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic Car 🇮🇹 🏆🔥🔮🏁 Forza Italia ☆☆☆
Great review! How do you think the reliability is on one of these?
We had concerns when Alfa Romeo came back to the US, but people that have them are absolutely in love with them and have not heard a lot of complaints.
Way better than Merc, Porsche, Audi (the previous two being Glorified VW's) and BMW for sure... !!
No one talked about radio and lack of preset buttons for it . Also i wonder if this vehicle comes with run flat tires or Not?
The new touch screen does have presets. There is an optional space.saver spare.
Stelvio the Best ❤️❤️🇮🇹
I agree 🇮🇹
Hi jus want to say ur Vidd. Was well put and I do like the Stelvio. I am with deciding on the Stelvio or the Macon. For the value what would u do. Again u have a great Vidd. Thank you
You can find low mileage ones in the mid 20s all day. Wouldn't buy one of these new, but those used prices are gonna be hard to pass up. Definitely gonna check these out.
Lauren...I'm sure if someone can talk their way out of a ticket its YOU😉 It gets a good "Laurenbar" rating 🏁🏁
LOVE ALFA!
I HAVE A ALFA GT LOVE IT.
Me too
The best Alfaromeo Stelvio👏👋👍🏻🇮🇹
Quando guido la mia Stelvio semplicemente sorrido..... È diversa da tutte e trasmette emozioni che le tedesche si sognano. Salite o girate intorno ad una Q5 e mi darete ragione.....
Translation to English; When I drive my Stelvio I just smile ..... She is different from all of them and conveys emotions that Germans dream of. Go up or turn around a Q5 and you'll agree with me...
I bought a 2018 stelvio I wanted to know how many speakers are in the vehicle I have 2 small speakers in the back behind the backseat head rest they are on when the radio is on
Great review
Good day, does the 2020 Stelvio have automatic start from the fob and can you activate back hatch with your foot?
REmote start yes - kick to open - NO
Thanks!!! In the market now
I have the stelvio Ti Sport and it DOES HAVE the kick to open :)
Other than the clown arguing with me about this brand of car, you did an amazing job on this Alfa review.
Thank you! 😀
@@CarCoachReports how’s the mpg in real life and navigation ?????
@@dinopappous6639
Thanks for the tip, bro!
Is that a common issue with the Levante?
@@MrHicks-lo8vn Yes to all.... Levante just feels TOO HEAVY...A PORKER
BMW steering and feedback have become very
numb....
Besides that, the Stelvio is a more fun car to drive.
the Germans make perfect cars. Italians create masterpieces
True
This is of course not true, but I understand why we say it.
Their stylish, yes, however, I usually prefer Italian cars because of the engineering.
Many ICE improvements that we find in most brands around the world, came from Italy, not Germany.
Does it have blind spot monitors
How is the reliability and maintenance cost?
The numbers say they are reliable.
Agreed
Don't let that worry you....these cars are bulletproof....an oil change at 10000 miles and that's it....
@@dinopappous6639 It worries me a lot. Having to drive 120 miles for any warranty related reason is asking too much of an owner. I wouldn't take that chance with a Toyota let alone an FCA product.
@@jeffmorse645 ... You are misinformed... Giulia and Stelvio have nothing to do with FCA... Developed by a Ferrari skunkworks team under the guidance of the late great Sergio Marchione... Life is too short to drive a boring Toyota...
FORZA ALFA BABY !!!
THE KING 👑 IS BACK !!!
@@dinopappous6639 With my last new car purchase I bought one where the nearest dealer was 65 miles away. Its been totally reliable, but I did have to leave it there overnight for an important recall fix. It was a massive P.I.T.A.. One time having to go through that hokey pokey of renting a car to get home (they didn't have a loaner) and then driving over an hour back the next afternoon was enough. I will NEVER buy a new car that doesn't have a local dealer again. Its not worth the potential trouble regardless how nice the car is.
Commenting on the Stelvio's Tachometer 160mph top speed:
The 280HP Stelvio top speed is 143mph, meaning, it might actually reach over 150mph on the tachometer under favorable conditions.
No one is driving the Stelvio that fast anyway.
@@CarCoachReports I believe they actually do in the autobahn. 😊 I’ve seen a couple of videos already on youtube
I’m sure. The Autobahn is awesome. Worth a trip to Germany
looking to bay one 2022 Vulcano Gray
Check a different dealers around the country. You will be surprised places like Buffalo will have them in stock
Beamers didn't even have blind spot monitoring standard until recently so🤷
It is Italian the best👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻👋🇮🇹
Doesn't seem to come with Blindspot Detection? Read through the brochure but it's not mentioned in the specs 🤔. Strange for this kind of car
My recently leased 2021 Stelvio, has all standard safety features, decent value and fun to drive
My 2021 Ti Sport has it.
did you say 180 speedometer? looks like 160mph
She's a looker!!!!!
Wish I had stuck to my Guns and Got 20-21 Model Body color Trim But I like the Contrast of my Wht/Blk trim 2019 ti No touch screen or paddle shifter. Great Sports SUV intertainment could be updated But overall the painted caliber embossed seats Tire an Rim package. Step on Gas it will Go Fast.
Not sure why people complain about the dash layout, so much better than the sh*t looking tablet stuck on the dash look. So much more character than the Germans and to drive - no comparison and that’s from experience.
I agree.
STELVIO very heavy ? realy ? its carbon+aliuminium that vehicle its light and its lightest in his class. Its made about being light and sporty.Kerb Weigh 1660 kg 3659.67 lbs.
Correct
12:50 is for the key :-)
Did I miss how it made you feel to drive it?
No I loved it. Just fun to drive! I said that a few time’s.
@@CarCoachReports my apologies. Really is a great motor (I am biased as I've had one a few years) Very good review. First one I've seen and will be on the look out for more :-)
Performance 8??
I mean it is faster than an Honda Accord and it is a 4 cylinders SUV!
It’s the best 2.0 liter turbo in the market!
2.0 liters Germans are crap compared to the Stelvio
Beautiful vehicle. Resale value....not so much.
Sadly, great car
I've been driving Italian cars all my life. It's a price we have to pay if we want them.
On the other hand it is an Alfa Romeo. Mechanics of emotions
For $61K I can get a used Stelvio Quadrafolio.
Love the the Quadrifoglio
Just bought a Alfa Romeo Stevio vol only had it 3 weeks its been in the garage twice never ever again will I buy an Alfa customer service is absolutely rubbish had to wait 9 hours for Alfa road side assistance to come never ever again rubbish rubbish!!!!!!! in the process of executing my rights to get my money back under the 30 day rule consumer rights act
This Alfa looks like it's sucking on a lemon 🍋 and I don't trust Alpha''s being notoriously famous for the company's lack of reliability. Next car, please?
Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili, or "Lombard Automobile Factory, Public Company" in Italian, (A.L.F.A. to us)
@@CarCoachReports none the matter as ALFA was never able to build a very reliable car.
@@CarCoachReports yeah, I know that I said FIAT, accidentally, not thinking. It's my sub conscious of the fact that although Italy builds beautiful autos like this one, their reliability is always in question.
Its so easy to repeat things that everyone says without informing yourself rigth? I only say this: Alfa Romeo Giulia 3rd place best car to own 2019 (autoexpress.uk), 2nd and 1st were a Lexus and a Toyota, we all know that Japanese are the most reliable on this planet. Best car manufacturer 2019 Alfa Romeo 2nd place (autoexpress.uk), 1st was Lexus (you know......Japanese). December 2020 4 awards in germany and car of the year 2021 in germany and there is a lot more about Alfa and its reliability on the internet, just inform yourself and dont believe these storys from the 70s of people that dont even know what a combustion engine is.
@@DonViToCRLNE I owned an Alpha once. It was garbage and unreliable on any given day. Talk to someone that G A S.
