The Olympus cameras have been pixel shifting for years - nice to see others catching up eh? ;)
Full frame, 400mp though?
With that said, with this being jpeg only in the end it’s much more useful on Olympus and Panasonic bodies
@@SamEmilio2 I love this feature on my Panasonic lumix g9, although it's only 80 megapixels raw
@@juwae5559 I keep forgetting to use it on my S1! 200 MP and the images are amazing, yeah
Olympus small tiny sensor shifting in low light? Ohhh yeah has to bring an additional tripod....which m4/3 always proud of their small easy to pack bodies but they have to add more weight by bringing a tripod ahahaha
@@mbismbismb You know, they have a handheld version too and neither Sony or Canon sensor shift will work without a tripod. So m43 is stil lighter than them.
Sony A1 pixel shift is JPEG only and anything that moves during shooting is fragmented. Hopefully Canon will give RAW images that are clearer.
You can enable JPEG & ARAW at the same time for the Sony A1 Pixel shift
It is not possible with the way it works.
time for CHDK 2.0 lol
Honestly though you would face a similar issue with a higher resolution sensor. As each pixel is smaller, it needs to be exposed longer to compensate. Meaning it's more susceptible to motion blur. I suppose this isn't the case with adequate lighting.
@@benargee You get blur with the Canon R5 too. It's nothing to do with lighting, it's to do with the sensor moving to capture and stitch multiple shots. Only good for very still scenes. It's great for still life macro work.
On the Fuji GFX100S, you can use pixel shift to get 400MP photos (get a good memory card)
400mp? So 1 gb for each 😂
Olympus OM-D E-M1X (released in 2019) already has this feature. 50 megapixels handheld and 80 on a tripod.
On the tripod they are using the sensor shift. Handheld they use the minor shaking of your hand, while stabilizing the sensor, to make the shot in the perfekt position.
Additionally many other Olympus/ OM System cameras include this feature, even the relatively cheap OM-5.
I mean yes, 100 megapixels are even more and allow a lot of detail, but it’s not like there aren’t cameras which are using this tech.
Yup.
S1, s1r, and the gfx100 just to name a few more.
12 mp is all I need. All anyone needs.
The little run to the camera is a very cool trick to get people to stay watching your video! Where did you learn it
I started doing it naturally. My stool is usually on the other side of my room when not recording, so I have to grab it before I start! 😝
😂
Some Panasonic cameras like the gh6 s5’s and s1 and think have this mode for photos where it can take 100mp photos on a tripod and like 80 hand held
Nice. Pentax had pixel shift back in 2015 with the K3ii. Cool feature, due to shake reduction and the sensor being able to move it also doubles up to allow Astro tracking which is also inbuilt into that camera.
Because 45 MP isn't enough!
Pixel shift is limited to static subjects, right?
I think they'll do it if they can...
I'm hoping for tracking auto detection.
Olympus, Pentax and Fujifilm (maybe) have this feature since 2015.
first one i’ve seen was the pentax k-1 back in 2016.
@@badcatzI’ve got the k1. It’s got sensor shift, but it’s used to improve sharpness and colour accuracy, not resolution. Which is honestly fine by me, at 36mp anyway.
What is super cool though is that’s it uses the gps and compass along with the sensor shift for astrophotography. So it can track the stars by shifting the sensor. No other brand has that.
Bro that's in almost every other cameras except canon 💀
He just know canon
Most knowledgeable Canon fanboy.
One of my favorite new channel discoveries, most of your videos don't apply to me as I don't plan to buy these newer cameras, but I still enjoy the photography content and you've at least influenced my decision to finally get a used DSLR (D3100 at around 160 Euro, I hear it's a great starter)
What hard drive would you recommend? Laptops only have so much storage, and I don't wanna take it all up with videos.
Kindly suggest the best suitable card for canon R5.
The olympus em1x brought this out in 2019 allowing a 80mp photograph. Its also on the em1 mark 3 and the new om1. They have lots of features that canon is now trying to catch up on.
That'll be awesome, but I hope my R6 mark ii does that too
Me too! But i doubt it. If R6mk II does the same, it will be a cheapper r5 in resolution. For product or fashion photography that's a killer and r5 sales definitely would feel that.
@@diariodefoto Not great for fashion photography if its with models. Maybe fashion product photography but def not with live moving models
The OM-1 a 4/3 creams the Canon R5 and every full frame model currently available when it comes to IS. Olympus have had these features since 2012.
Only new for Canon, Lumix had it in his S5, GH6 and the S5mk2
Just wanted to know what kind a camera is good for video shooting ???
Get the lumix g9 ii it has 8 image stabilizer and you can do hand held 100 megapixel and it has 2X crop so if your a wildlife guy 100-400mm mark ii will be 200-800mm
Isn’t this like Dual pixel mode! You take a pic you end up with 80-100 MP as well no? Maybe a different way of doing it?
Which brand lence you are using on your r5 ?
Fuji xt5 does it also. 160mp
I know the xh2 has it as well just never used it. How do you like the feature?
So what does it say for every version and variant of the LUMIX DC-S5 | II | IIX and the LUMIX DC-G9 | II, which have always had this feature. Not to mention they are more robust in video features too, even more so than Sony…
🤔
Great idea but it doesn’t make sense. Shifting the sensor thus get double exposures can’t double the picture resolution. The size of each pixel on the sensor and it’s position related to the lenses determine color of that spot. Without changing the size, it’s just a parallel shift of the image rather than making the pixel more granular.
This is gonna be sick!!!
I adore how you film your shorts! Can I ask what lens you used to film this?
A lot of talk about features but I never hear about colors. The quality of the pic is related to sharpness but also the reproduction of colors. I shoot Canon because J like their colors straight out of camera the best. Especially on Black skintones.
The thing is... as Indonesian... canon rf ecosystem is just way above our reach... thats why sony is King in my country...
Wow and I felt bad because for accident I forgot to turn off my canon R6mii and leave the sensor open 😥
Watching your video video give me a bit of peace lol 😅
Pixel shift is amazing
What's the lens.. can I put on eos r10
Price:₹2,45,000🫠
That's basically what Panasonic has been doing with the s series for a long time ..
ILY Anthony
Included in Panasonic S5 ii a year ago. 96MP photos
What kind video/dslr taking this video?
The R5 already has a version of pixel shift but it doesn’t double the resolution
Wow 👀.. me wishing I had that camera rn
My s5 ii already has it 😁
Yeah umm, Olympus has been doing this for years. and with the recent iterations you can get 50 and 80Mp shots off that little ole 20Mp MFT sensor.
Overheating killed the R5, R3 is the best hybrid go to camera. And after all the price difference between R5 and R3 isn’t that huge considering that R5 overheats and has video recording limitations while R3 doesn’t
I want updates to my R3! One feature I want is the ability to dial any fps up to 30fps.
Is r5 beat or r 5c
But you can't use 3rd party lenses. And I'm fine with my 80MP high res.
And the Canon ibis is still behind.
There is so much people want, that’s one of the many
Sony a7riii also has pixel shift
Lumix S5 users when he said “no other camera has”: 👁️👄👁️
Panasonic has had that feature for years already! They have the best stabalization so they took advantage of it haha but that is dope!!! Makes me want to get the r5🥹🙌🏼
Sony been doin this from their basic dslr camera and the a7ii to newest model have ibis
Hasselblad does that, perhaps.
Even my oentax has this , it's been in pentax for years.
duuuude, this was standard in my very old lumix g9.
He doesn't know that, he is new to cameras
You don’t often explain about Nikon specially the d850
So basically like the old Lumix GO and GH6 😜
The problem with that instead of having a higher megapixel camera is if anything is moving in the frame 🖼️ then it's not going to work.
I think they're going to remove the 29.59 minute video recording limit and add some extra subject tracking features.
Same.
Text to photos camera overheats😂
I think he accidentally admitted that sony A1 is the best 😂
The best camera is whatever you use to create cinematic magic you can create on a iPhone 4/5/6 and still tell your story ❤
@@mrdamiansingh why not iphone 1 then for your BS?
My 3yrs old Lumix S1 has that, produces 96mp RAW Files.. first camera that does that lol…
Canon is always late....
Couldn't they do that on all of the Canon mirrorless camera's?
no
@@UnbutteredToast why not
Dude a company had to make money somehow…
@@janeisenbeton9030 not al cameras have ibis
@@UnbutteredToast Why not?
Right now canon and Sony are the top brands for cameras but I feel like canon has the slight edge for some reason.
Top brands? Is that like saying McDonalds is the top restaurant?
@@linjicakonikon7666 stop the cap 🧢…what camera brand has the edge over all of the cameras that are out on the market right now, genius?
“They’re also adding a new feature that’s not in any other camera” proceeds to mention the camera that has it. I am very confused.
Also, Olympus cameras from 5 years ago have had that feature.
Same as Panasonic. If he’s referring to only FF cameras then he’s still wrong. I’ve have it in my S1R. Welcome to 2018, Canon.
A7r v has pixel shift
If this is true…it’s insane how much megapixels you can actually capture through the R5
Pixel shift isn’t really practical.. to me it looks like it’s AI upscaled, not really 2x the upscale more like 30%.. and yea there is no way you will make it super stable anywhere outside.. people claim it works best in their basements..
Cool feature, no one goes in depth into why it’s really more of a gimmick..
Really I would recommend buying topaz photo ai and upscale with it, that one works 100%
Pixel shift works 15% - after a few tries I never did more tests, and I didn’t get great results - it’s slow to take a picture (multiple pictures)- it’s slow to assemble them - it doesn’t happen in the camera (another thing no one mentions)
Camera takes like 10 photos each one 10-30 sec, then software assembles it, takes a minute or a few..
yeah.. I’m out
Take a good normal photo, use the raw file and plug it into topaz photo ai - you will be amazed at how much it can do
Pixelshift - sounds great, and I was disapointed, and how no one really pointed out how poor it is in practical terms..
I always think how I’m more patient and I’ll make it work.. if your single photo test takes like 5 min per picture with 10% probabillity it works, I’m not interested..
I sort of feel everyone lies on the pixel shift features.. a gimmick, not a reality.. maybe maybe, someone might get something out of it..
Again AI upscale at least does it constantly and it can remove some blur and noise
Lumix g9 had that way back them
Olympus have that, is name Hi-ress mode
But rl hope to see it in Canon, maybe we get that in big megapixel r-line camera too and get like crazy big photos 🎉
Sounds too good to be true😢
Sweet! ;-)
Pentax K-1 from 2016 with Pixel Shift that saves RAW probably doesn't exist.
Sony a7r : Am I joke to you?
Pixel Shift Mode, 240 MP RAW
Me with my 70d and my 20mg 😅
Too Big lens for mirrorles
*Lumix laughing in the background*
I am a olympus photographer. And Olympus is using this for years now. 😂💀
always love seeing people say "this brand product is the best thing to own". Tells me to disregard all further statements made by them. There is no single best product.
Wtf? Pixel shift has been on cameras for years. You said it was something g that was not an any other camera?
"no other camera"
pentax:
You claimed it to be something no other camera has. Canon didn’t have that yet? Feels like Canon is the Apple of the camera industry
Well Sony a7 iv, nikonz9 ...fuji x h2s,Panasonic ...Olympus so look everyone has a camera like yours 😂
i just think fighting over what camera is the best is stupid, I have both Sony and canon lol
give me this camera please i really need
OLYMPUS ALREADY HAS IT MORE THEN 5 YEARS AGO.
Interesting theory but I doubt that’s it.
Too bad there ain't too many lenses
Just to ensure, no need to buy expensive camera again😂
I get you are a Canon fanboy but that technology is already on other cameras.
Nah, Canon doesn't copy Sony. They'll bring in a new feature of their own. There's a reason why it's secret.
Any a7R ever
Bruh there's like 7 cameras that can do this
Wow
Best camera in 2023…then Sony showed up with A9 III
Sony A7r V has pixel shift?! So did the older A7r IV... this guy doesn't know Sony at all 🤧
Please give me camera please
"Getting a feature that is not in any other camera" Two sentences later Sony a1 has it. Smh
How about putting 15 fps mechanical in every Canon camera 12 is old as 1dx 1 what 10 years and no Canon bsi stacked sensor below 6 grand smells like Canon cripple hammer
This is not new technology, my K1 could do this in 2016, and it's a DSLR
They still holding out. Can we get some smarter cameras. With all this new ai tech we could be doing way better than this. How about entire subject/object detection? Or focus after the shot. I mean it's so many things can be done and they refuse to implement.
