I would love to see a triangle shawl with a deep v neckline. They hang on the shoulders better and cover more of the front of the body. I have found patterns of a few but unfortunately I do not read patterns ♥
Ooooo, that is a great suggestion! 💗 I’ll see what I can do, as time allows. Shawls are my favorite thing to make; so gives me a good challenge. 😅 This one here I made to take to the farmers market, and is a little small for me. Had I added a few more rows, would’ve fit much better.
@@RepentfollowJesus Hi. I do okay on some items, and better on others. My baseball caps hats (both summer and winter), do consistently well; and I can make them pretty quickly. I also make jewelry, which helps offset the extra time that goes into other crocheted pieces, like shawls. DK weight is typically around a G / 4.0mm hook; but I often go up, to anywhere between a G+ (US 7) / 4.75mm, H / 5.0mm or even I / 5.5mm. Depends on the stitches, yarn type, and your own crocheting tension. Some people are tighter crocheters, while others crochet more loosely. I'm right in the middle. A good starting point is what the yarn label recommends. Can always do a swatch and go up or down, from there. 💗 Love your Husky!
After the shawl is made, then add more rows across the top stopping midway and turning instead of crocheting all the way across. Make several rows across each half of the top part untill it suits you.
Good Morning my friend, and what a nice surprise! This shawl is a keeper and when I get a chance, I will be sure to go over and check this yarn out also. Thanks for sharing, and I will watch for part 2. Smiles from J.
G'evening, my friend! I sure appreciate that! I had sooo much fun with this one; and came together like they were made for each other! I could get used to this crocheting off-the-cuff way of designing, and way less over-thinking! 😅 Gorgeous weather here the last few days. Healing and uplifting. Hope all's well at your end. 😍
Hi Helene, I just got on and found this. I went to Michael's today and bought the contrasting stripe color yarn for the shawl. I have to eat dinner now, but when I get done I will buy the pattern and watch your video. (:
Wow, I just got through the first round and it is so easy and so beautiful! I am putting a blue twist yarn as the stripes because that will match my clothes, and it looks great. I will send you a picture soon. Take care and I hope your headache is gone!
I am so excited to hear that, and you really made my day, getting started on the shawl already! I’m excited to see a picture. Headache still lingering, rather exhausting; but we had such beautiful day, the fresh air, and sunshine helped. 🩵💛🩵
Thank you! It was my 4-day migraine therapy project! A good distraction that taught me, I don’t have think overly hard, to come up with something nice. One of those letting go, and let the creativity naturally flow. 😊 🙌💗 Please let me know if you get some Coconut Cakes, and which colors. And of course, pics are always great, if you decide to make it!
What a wonderful result for the Coconut Cakes yarn. When you showed us the yarn from your Muchael's field trip not too long ago, I wondered how it would work up. It seems to have wonderful texture, and you designed a beautiful shawl for that yarn, which helps a lot. I appreciate your idea of comparing the cakse to LB Comfy Cotton Blend, which was my favorite yarn so of course they discontinued it!! 😂 But I have several cakes of the Blend so I will buy this pattern and get started - thank you so much for the tutorial and the pattern!
Thank you!! It was really fun to make, and watching it develop, as I crocheted along! So sad the Comfy Cotton was discontinued. A favorite of so many! I might have to give this shawl a try in that yarn too. I still have a few left, myself! Hope you'll love yours. 💖💖💖
Hi Karen. Yes, two cakes, with the majority of yellow leftover. I used most of the blue and a small amount of the yellow. Combined, a total of one cake. I go into the exact amounts used, the measurement of finished shawl, and a reference for sizing @ 3.30. My best guesstimate is this sized shawl will fit about up to an average US size large.

They have a video on how to read patterns on youtube 😊
@cabinfevercrochet oh I never thought of selling crochet at a farmers market! I hope you got a good price. What Size hook for a dk weight?

Helene, did you use just two Caron Coconut cakes...one in each color?
