I prefer the scallop border also. Could easily add beads to that too! I think the plain edge would really be jazzed up with fringe, for those who want it. I’ve had some of the Hobby Lobby cotton for a few years, and suddenly really getting into it! Great for certain projects/stitches. 🧡🌸💛
New subscriber 😊 i need a simple shawl. Im pretty inexperienced. I only know the old granny square ! Can i do this in a 4 or 3? I ordered yarn for a blanket online and i don't think it will be enough. Im 5'2 and would like it to go past my rump. Thank you.
Thank you so much for subscribing! Really happy to have you here, and always excited to see a new crocheter! Yes, a #3 or 4 weight is perfect for this. I give more info on yarn, in Part 1. If you want your shawl to have more drape and be a little more open/lacy, then go up at least one hook size, from what’s recommended on the ball band/yarn label. Just keep working the pattern as I show, to your desired width/length. The border, in Part 2, will add just a little more onto that. At 5’2”, it won’t take a lot of yarn, due to the openness of these stitches. 😃

I don't know how to read patterns. I'm inexperienced. Thanks anyway
Enjoy your crochet.
NEED to make a poncho with your ideas. Many thanks.

Thank you, Pattie! You must be reading my mind on the poncho idea! Thank you for encouraging me to go for it! I really appreciate you watching, too. 😍
Hi Helene. Wow, this sugarwheel from Hobby Lobby is so very beautiful. Love how it worked up, very lovely. Thanks so much for sharing!
Hi! I had a lot of fun with this one. Love when something comes together as imagined. Big congrats to you on your 22K, wow! 🤩

Oh Susan, that’s so great to hear, and really thoughtful of you to say!! 😍
So lovely, I love working with cotton.
Oh, thank you. 💗 I love cotton too. I’m always on the lookout for a good, soft one, or blend. 😊

Dusty is precious ❤
He’s a funny guy. Full of himself, and 10 tons of energy! 😂
Both borders are pretty, but I really like the scallop border. I love that Hobby Lobby yarn color you used! Pretty colors!
