I have to agree with u on that. He was the only villian in the franchise with a complex motive that was also large scale. Hopefully we have another villain similar to him, or maybe even better.

Yeah they tripped on their balls in the shitty ending but the rest of the arc was fucking badass. for me it was like a shorter Cell Saga.

Tornadragon No it wasn't. Compare the consistency of writing in the anime to the consistency in the manga, and the manga's writing is average at best. The anime was superficial cool shit with little to no explanation of that said cool shit. Like just ONE of many examples, when goku got mad at zam & black over killing chi chi and goten and got a huge power boost of rage, how come he got stronger on rage alone? Goku hasn't grown stronger through rage except when he went ssj1, and that was because of the transformation buff.
Always found it strange how Goku and Vegeta did better vs Merged Zamasu then Goku Black with his clones.

Goku black is on par with canon broly when it comes to potential and how fast they evolve in power. Both of them can become stronger much faster than goku or vegeta and they are monsters when it comes to potential.
SSJ Rose has no drawbacks with ki energy because he's naturally a god so he can use infinite divine energy with infinite zenkai boosts, hes slightly outclassed Broly when it comes to power amplification!

If Zamasu switched body with Whis or Grand Priest, the one around him would be either Beerus or Zeno. It's a big no.
We also do not really know the extent of power of GoDs & angels. I mean, not just physical strength/battle powers. I'm talking about magic. Whis was shown to be able to reset time, fast forward Bulma's giving birth, and other "small" magical capabilities. While Grand Priest was shown to create an entire arena in the world of void. Angels are also shown to be very knowledgeable. I don't think it's wise for Zamasu to simply switch bodies with those beings.

Goku Black is such a good Villain in my opinion.
It would have been much better if Zamasu and Black never fused, it seemed like he was weaker than Black, Goku was able to damage Merged Zamasu while Goku couldn't touch Black
Merged zamasu was definitely stronger. But Black just had crazier hax abilities that he couldn’t access. Goku put up a way better fight against black tho. He surpassed his limits against merged zamasu, but he was one the brink of exhaustion after a single attack.

This is why I think the Black arc ending was on point. People were upset that Zeno had to come down and kill the bad guy, and in turn, destroy the entire timeline they were trying to protect.
Black was literally a universe god, fused with the most powerful Saiyan, who again fused with a different version of himself (another god), who ALSO was granted immortality.
The fact it took the most powerful being in multiple dimensions to wipe out this villain just shows how incredibly powerful gods are. They can't be taken lightly. A god with a tainted mind is truly a monster. Idk, if Vegito just wiped the floor with Black, it would hit the image of what a god should be so hard (more then it already is). I mean, at this point, gods just felt like something Goku could surpass no problem. But after this, it's like "whoa, gotta take a step back. I've really been looking at the gods wrong".
For once, the good guys kind of lost. They're not immortal and capable of destroying everything that threatens their well being. Because of this, Black is my second favorite villain in the entire franchise, and I truly felt like the ending was spectacular.

Something cool to consider is that according to the manga, Zamasu was the Compass Kai of the North Galaxy. Just like good-old King Kai. Plus, Zamasu was praised for his martial arts ability, and King Kai created two martial arts skills (Kaio-Ken and Spirit Bomb) that Goku is now deeply connected to.
Guess North Kais are inseparable from the martial arts.
Remind you, that fusion was never needed to defeat both Goku and Vegeta.

The Goku black arc was very confusing because in the anime, it felt like Goku black was stronger then, when he was fused because before he fused he got crazy strong he opened up another dimension and clones of himself was beating up Goku and Vegeta and he didn't have to do anything he probably could have killed both of them

Potara fusion doesn't get weaker it's just nowhere near as effective if the other person is weaker but they're symmetry also plays a part and because Goku Black and Zamasu were the same person it resulted in an OP fusion. But Merged Zamasu also became extremely arrogant and overconfident he refused to use full power until Vegito showed up.
Goku Black I get what you mean but when Goku black, was the strongest he had been and he got his clones he could have killed Vegeta and Goku right there. In the anime Goku Black explained he had some type of Instant Zenkai where he got stronger with every blow/fight after he defeated Goku with the multiple beams to the body

Merged Zamasu was really wasted as a villain in this arc. He had the potential to become a very good character in the series. I really liked his motivations , powers, appearance, etc. I hope he will return one day, like Frieza did. He and Frieza have many similarities : Frieza wants world domination, Merged Zamasu wanted world annihilation. Frieza has a connection to the Saiyan race, Merged Zamasu is himself half-saiyan because of Goku Black. Frieza has a personal rivalry with Goku, Merged Zamasu too. Plus, Merged Zamasu could have had rivalries with gods and angels themselves, because he thinks of himself as being a god, and Beerus already had somewhat of a rivalry with Goku Black.
So in essence, this power struggle between them is the World’s Deadliest Game of Tug of War.

The best Dragonball villain and quite possibly one of the most important arcs in the franchise. The future trunks arc showed people that Dragonball was here to stay and destroyed he doubt of people who didn’t like the animation/storytelling

TeraBYTC I think hit because he has 2 things that can beat black, his one shot assassination and the time cage
default skin The issue with Time Cage is it relies on several things that Hit can't manage in a fight with Black. Standing entirely still for the rest of his life. In the TOP, all Hit had to do is wait out the timer. IIRC he even said it drains his body significantly. With Goku Black he has several options. With the Scythe he has clones which can beat the everliving out of Hit while he time cage's Black which will knock his concentation and he also has his pain potential where he gets strong with every increment of pain he feels, and I feel being stuck in an overbearing cycle of multiple timestops bashing against your very being would be kinda pressuring (no matter how tiny). Also, the one-hit shot only really works if you can hit the target and Black literally has meat shields with Instant Transmission.

In terms of strength and power Jiren is the strongest but Black is the most dangerous antagonist. When Zamasu took Goku’s body to became Black, he also pocesses Goku’s strength, power and capability in addition to his godly intellect. If Goku had tried to use SSJBKK20 or MUI, chances is that Black will mimic and learn how to tap into those techniques which make him more dangerous than Jiren. Unlike Jiren who fights fair and upright, Black is sinister and underhanded who will resort to any means to gain advantage over his opponents
Goku Black is so strong in his base because he stole Gokus body in the future using the super Dragonballs and gokus body in the future is most likely stronger than the body Goku has then so it makes since for Goku black to always have a little advantage

VOLTEC nope Zamasu or rather Black specifically states he went a year into the future to steal Goku's body. Geekdom even has a timeline chart that explains all this and toei themselves released a timeline chart.
This doesn't explain why he's so strong in his base form. Base form Goku now is stornger than black base form Goku, because present Goku is stronger than pre-beerus Goku.

Zamasu steals Goku’s body from the future. It’s bad writing, but the Goku who’s body got stolen had already met Trunks who came to seek help. For some reason In that timeline Beerus never killed Zamasu and they did not go visit there again after Goku beat Zamasu on their planet. The case was just forgotten in that timeline and then Zamasu striked like a year later
Wish they wouldn't have jacked up the power levels so crazy high, killed most of the meaning behind powerups.

Man I talked about an Evil goku arc for years. If dragin ball were to return the strongest foe would be goku himself. When they presented goku black I was super hyped at first, but aftwr the arc comoleted I was heavily disappointed. Instead of taking the multiverse route I wanted to see a parallel world. A goku that wasn't good, but was evil instead. Lived a whole different life yet similar. Although I enjoyed the arc for what it was
Anime Black *suffered from the weakness* of that its not his real body thus can't use its full capabilities.
Manga Black *Overcame that weakness* saying that after his the Zenkai boosts the cells replaced after healing were made from his own strife and hard work so the body he possesed was become less Goku's and more his own.

I think analyzing anything Dragon ball Super related is a total waste of time because I'm 100% sure that over at Toei nobody had a second thought about the continuity or any overall sense. Even Toyotaro didn't get the time he DESERVES to write a manga he wants to... Luckily super has great story ideas but they screwed pretty much everything up because of their money mongering pursuit. Only the upcoming Broly movie is a positive step in the right direction because It finally gets the attention it deserves. It's so sad That Gokus greatest enemy are not from Dragonball continuation but rather from Toei. That would be a great and emotional story Arc

I guess the reason why Goku Black's base form is so strong is because he actually is a god, has already god ki and his base form should be already like a SS God form, both in terms of the type of ki and power level. That's why he just turn directly into Rose and not the regular SS forms, Goku already explained in the golden frieza arc that when a Saiyan with god ki taps into a Super Saiyan, you obtain Super Saiyan Blue (Or Rose in this case)
I prefer the manga's take on Goku Black, his character in general and the arc as a whole. It showed nice development of Zamasu learning more about Goku's body and power and being able to exploit it to very seemingly unstoppable heights. Goku Black was able to figure out the key to Saiyans getting stronger as they fight, going SSJ and realizing that he can tap into higher powers on order to cause Goku and Vegeta legit problems. In the anime, it just hops into him just having the power to combat them already and then just getting stronger as the arc progressed, but in the manga it shows him struggling at first but develops it a serious threat over time, which I liked very much because it was taking more of a development route than the anime did. I also enjoyed the ending of the manga's version of the arc, with Goku and Vegeta for the first time accepting defeat but was willing to go out fighting until it was officially over, which was the first time that those 2 realized that they truly couldn't win with their own strength and battle knowledge. Overall, Goku Black is probably my favorite villain behind Frieza, being that he had a legitimate motive to go against Goku and company, instead of just being some random villain that just appears out of nowhere with no clear backstory, no real development over time, no true unique evil personality, and no strong interesting motive to go against the heroes.

And the Second Offense os Vegeta somehow closing the Gap in their Rematch and winning.... Despite the Fact the fact that a Zenkai boosted SS1 Goku Black was comparable to SS Blue Vegeta in their first battle.
Even though the Future Trunks Arc had its problems I fuckin miss Goku Black
