I’m a worship leader at my church and am trying to see if it would benefit me at all to use Bias FX 2 Mobile on my iPad Pro… I’m only play acoustic, but my friend has a huge pedal board setup for his acoustic, so I’m assuming I can create something similar for more ambiance/background music, like while the pastor is speaking, etc. And just to make my Breedlove sound better while leading songs. In church do you run mono? I have run mine into the Roland Jazz Chorus stereo FX return. I use a stereo volume pedal for overall volume control. Works & sounds great. I don’t have a midi controller yet. Love your enthusiasm.
Hi Michael, thank you for the comment :) I run mono on the church, I use the Jazz chorus only as a monitor, so I split my signal before the Jazz Chorus input, one signal goes straight to the FOH, the other to the front input of the JC. Cheers :)

Donner guitar interface is 24 but 192khz interface. It is quite large, metal housing, little heavy, maybe not good for live but it works for me. I was completely shocked it worked but you have select right speaker, not working on left speaker settings but sound comes from both speakers.
Could you go a little more in depth on that as I’m wanting to use scenes but don’t really understand it. All it seems to do for me is just switch patches, am I doing something wrong or is that what scenes are all about?

This was helpful but In my case I'm looking to put the audio interface to in front of a clean combo amp. Would that be a viable method to monitor/play at practice at volumes? If so, do I switch off the cab section and what about the global settings?
Hello Freaky Nomad, I do sometimes practice using this Bias FX iPad rig by plugging it in to the front of a clean combo amp. My interface, iRig Pro Duo, is able to push the amp with decent volume for practice or even live gig(depending on the amp) without any problem. I don't bother switching off the cab section, some of my "secret sauce" for my tone are actually coming from the mic placement setup on the cab sim, so I keep it on. Regarding global setting, sometimes I use a bit of EQ to compensate to the character of the amp. If I play to a Roland Jazz Chorus, I tend to cut the bass just a little bit because it produces too much low end to cut through, but most of the time you can get away without using any EQ.
Hello, as far as I know, it is not possible to have both preset changing mode and pedal (control) mode at the same time. I only use a single preset then change the pedals to get different sounds. Hope this helps!

I really think that when you want to get great tone from the amp in Bias FX 2 Mobile, you should really tweak the preamp and power amp sections on Bias Amp, really fine tune the low, mid, and high settings, and choose the best sounding cabs and mic placement that you think sounds best. I used an old iPad Air 2 on that video, but since then I moved on to a newer iPad Mini 5th generation (iPad Mini 2019). My particular iPad Mini has only 32GB of storage, and Bias FX 2 Mobile works fantastic on that iPad.
When you are in preset mode (patch change mode), there's quite a noticeable latency. But in direct FX mode (effect change mode), the latency is almost negligible. So now I only have a giant single patch, with bunch of effects, then I just use the control mode. The trick with the Blueboard is that it will change affect the moment you release your foot from the button, so sometimes I will press it earlier and time my foot release when I want the FX to change. Hope this helps!
Are you able to use the dual cable to charge the iPad and use the interface? After updating to iOS 17, the cable does not work for charging, only for processing the interface.
Great vid, I love bias fx 2, but am wondering how to get tap tempos to work on delay pedals. It seems to only let u adjust time via expression pedal and not an actual tap tempo. Any tips on how to get tap tempo midi learning?

Just switch on the bpm function on the delay then change the time signature based on what you like. You will enable tap tempo on live mode press and hold then choose toggle function then tap tempo
Hello Sean, I do adjust the amp so that it sounds as neutral as possible, and yes usually that means every EQ knobs are dialed at noon, and set the amp to sound clean without any possible dirt or distortion. However, there are amps that needs further EQ adjustment to make it sound "flat", you can either set it on the amp itself or you can use Post EQ setting on Bias FX mobile app to compensate for that. Hello fattohead, I haven't checked it again, but just to be sure, both the Bias FX and Bias Amp require about 500MB++ on the iPad's internal space. Hope this helps
You have to use either MIDI pedal or touch the screen directly on the iPad, I don't think there's other method, unless you are using laptop, in which case you can automate preset change using MIDI automation if you are playing live using click track. Hope this helps! 😊

Hello Rodolfo, yes you can. You just need to use the wifi to install and update, after that you can keep it offline. I switch to airplane mode all the time before I gig, just to avoid getting any notifications while playing live gig.

You can use live mode. much easier to switch between scenes.

Probably better to first lower the mids first and this will open the tone, then do the other dials, and the mids last.

@@Gary_W I have difficulty with the tap also. It learns the switch but once I begin tapping the bpm goes to 300. Tried tweaking but no avail.

Hello, you don't have to, you can change patches or turn on/off pedals by touching the screen as well.
