    Lei, I'm so late to the Bias FX2 party butnwhat a great demo man! No matter what you play, God absolutely gifted you!
    I've been using the FAS AX-8 for live playing at church and love it! Now I'm building a backup hybrid setup with my old analog pedalboard, an Xtone Pro and an iPhone! Wow! So amazing! But i only have the free Standard version of Bias FX2. The AC30TB model I'm tweaking to get as close to my favorite tone in the AX-8, Morgan AC20. Got pretty close so far and loving it. ❤️

    Totally agree with you Leo. I was skeptical at first too, but I’ve been using bias fx, Literally everyday for over 3 yrs now. It’s my “go to” for practice and song ideas. Using it with ownhammer heavy hitters 1 & 2. Helps me stay focused on playing rather than trying to fix or create good tones w my real amps. I’m an “all tube, all the way” dude, but for the price, convenience, and what all it offers, it’s hard to beat!! Sweet riffage as well, btw!!! Keep em chug’n buddy!!

    Great Review, thanks! I preciate you doing the crunch-sounds, the edge between clean and driven, the breakup sounds - thats what seperates good amp sims from the bad ones. All the higain metal stuff sounds good anyway. The hard part is the crunchy, slightly overdriven sounds. Thanks again. Think the BIAS may be worth a try.

    For whatever reason, the corksniffers on the forums decided that PG isn’t professional software and best suited for dentists and lawyers building home studios. It may be the fact that they try to cram so many models and features in that the assumption is it can’t be good.
    Like all such all-inclusive modeling packages, some models are better than others, but overall Bias 2 is extremely competitive vs all my other top shelf plugins EXCEPT in the cab section - all the cabs (even the Celestion expansion and the newer RMST cabs) sound pretty phasey and wonkey. But it’s got a loader, so you can add your favorite 3rd party IRs.
    The Hendrix expansion amps are some of my favorite models and hold up very well vs Mercuriall, Lion, etc.

  • @dan8402

    Great review! I am just getting back into guitar, soooo this is perfect. Minus some features of the full PC / Mac version you can get the Iphone / IPad versio for $40 USD when on sale!
    Throw in an IRIG 2 for another $40 and you can get the same tones as folks with thousands in gear. I have noticed the presence is a bit lacking compared to the "real" gear, but if you are a bed room player into headphones, or need a super light, fit in a backpack road gig set, this is it!
    Plus you can get AMP 2 and import custom amps. Along with BIAS pedal, and JamUp Pro you can spend days, and for less than a high end amp.

    • @kentxern
      @kentxern 4 года назад

      @@blindan8366 There is a feature for that. It allows you to assign controls to each MIDI signal, which I used for sound switching and wah/volume. However the switching only allows for a "previous" or "next" selection. Which means you won't be able to jump between each sound bank, but only move between banks that are organized next to each other.

  • @cmd_f5
    @cmd_f5 5 лет назад +2

    While I don't use Bias myself, this sounds OK. Def full of useful features though. Me, I like a very very real ampsim, then I'll go to another plugin for FX and IR loading. That probably seems convoluted, but I like the flexibility of using whatever I want that way. Much more modular. Still, this doesn't sound half bad.
    Agreed on the looper and delays. I'm mostly a straight into the amp and no FX guy, but I have a soft spot for delays and looping various things and layering a bunch of stuff that way.
    The amps themselves don't sound aweful, but this is still something I'm not grabbing.

    Hi , If you could please help me as well....I am a beginner guitarist...I am using bias fx 2 in reaper DAW, I connect my fender strat to focusrite solo 3rd gen, I tried multiple amp effect pedals combinations , i tried messing with the amp settings bass treble mids etc, for some unknown reason my guitar tone sounds muffled, I've been trying to create a tone similar to billie joe from green day but I not able to get a clear clean crunchy rock sound... It's too muffled for some reason...any advice would be highly appreciated....ThanksP

    Nice video ! Quick question, I tried using this on several tracks in cubase and I got soooo much lag with that, am I the only one ? On one track it's ok, but on quadrupled guitar tracks, it starts to get really laggy (issue that I dont have on the nameless suite or on guitar rig)

      Not tried that yet but intend to do so. What DAW/interface?

    • @charlelieravail8559
      @charlelieravail8559 5 лет назад

      Cubase elements 10 (yeah the cheap version) with a scarlett 2i2. When recording I can play with the buffer to reduce lag, but when you load several tracks with that plugin, I got heavy lags. Maybe it's a configuration problem, but still, I dont have those kind of issue with any other plugins

    • @xPowerShotx
      @xPowerShotx 5 лет назад

      Take a look at the link. And try out reaper, its much lighter on the resources than cubase. That said, bias are heavier. There also a new driver update from focusrite allowing even more buffer preset. But reaper are the only daw that actually can set any buffer you want, etc 111 or 112 or 113, and lock it. I think Reaper are the only daw that actually can arm several track at once on one single input. There are some steps to optimize pc for better speed and sound readiness. And that windows services is not to be underestimated. It will give noticeable differences on pc speed when some get turned off. Follow black vipers guide. Setting sample rate to etc 44.1 kHz will also give more room. support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/207355205-Optimising-your-PC-for-Audio-on-Windows-10

    haven't tried Fx 2 just yet, own FX 1 but after trying out other amp sim VSTs, there's definitely something lacking in how 1 amps feel, although the tones are decent, effects are great actually, you just seem to get better quality elsewhere, it's a bit unfair maybe comparing Bias to a dedicated say marshall amp sim (mercuriall) but that's how they should be looking to improve their product, a bit like when you see another ridiculously talented guitar player, should motivate you to work harder etc etc.. , maybe a case of better tweaking the cab sim portion.. who knows
    i'm now using bias FX 1 as a sort of pedalboard in front of other amp sims (S-gear mainly as they have nicer clean amp models) and various other vsts for crazy verb/delays
    the looper feature is very awesome tho

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  5 лет назад +1

      Love the looper, it's seriously addictive. The beauty of plugins is it's so easy to combine them and make a signal chain customised to what you need.

    • @paulbradshawguitar
      @paulbradshawguitar 5 лет назад

      absolutely, makes recording a cinch as well, i really like the results of hooking up my amp through my two notes captor, but while it may "feel" better for want of a better word, i can get similar sort of tones just by plugging straight into the DAW, cheaper on the electric bill too ;)
      as good as these plugins are and the options we have these days for seriously killer tones, i kinda miss the stories from the older days of using some obscure beat up cab with weird speakers and a combination of some strange pedals, or for example the Vega wireless/ Ac/Dc story, that stuff is gold
      people are still doing that but it feels like with the increasing amount of choice, experimentation is heading in a different direction , you're experimenting with different plugins/options instead of really pushing what you already have

      Then Reverb is your friend. There's at least a dozen of 'em on there for sale right now...some in mint condition.
      I still use a POD X3 some in my home studio. I just bypass the internal cab sims and use an external IR loader. I get some killer tones that way.

    Keep in mind that he has very expensive guitars. Therefore, if you have a lower class guitar, and even making the settings in the effects, you will surely not get that sound. BiasFx 2 is one of the best programs today, but don't think it will do all miracles. Remember the very important role your guitar has.
