Terrific walk-through. I was playing around with the demo version the previous evening. I usually dial out some of the highs because there’s something about the top end that seems less pleasant I guess. Other than that, I really like what Positive Grid did with this. That guitar match thing really works. I really like the rackmount reverb in it. It’s pretty smooth sounding. Some of the more odd effects are fun to play with.

I think your talking about dirty frequencies. You have to look for them and cut them. Watch how to use eq on lead guitar. Completely normal thing

This is good stuff and the affordable way to explore all kinds of amps and setups on a budget with limited space. Also helps me figure out my favorite amp setups and tone combos. The Mesa Boogie amps are superb as the Diezel amp model and Marshall.

Sonically Bias Fx 2 is so pristine and clear. Its hard to explain but a side by side comparison with Bias Fx 1 and it just feels less boxy and more organic. Worthy of an upgrade if you have got the cash.

Does the guitar analyzer also work with alt tunings (f.e. cgcgce, dadgad, cgcfad, and so on)? And/or baritone guitars? I also have a lot of other instruments available, like bouzouki, mandolin, etc... were I'd like to enhance the clean sound and be able to forge'em the way I like them.

Although Bias fx 2 is bit cheaper than those 2 hardware....so should i go for Bias Fx 2 over those? Or they could give me more good quality?

Would be nice to ethernet it to your amps, but no. You need a interface like focurite 2i2 or 6i6. Its a external soundcard handling the sound from your guitar with a input to connect your guitar. You also need either some studio monitors or some headphone. Then you just download the software.

So question. How do you not get crackling and buzzing when using distortion? Hell even using flanger or chorus? I'm getting a huge amount of buzzing when using those. I use the Behringer UM22 as My interface, buffer is 256. I have tried with 512 and there's no difference at all. I have to use the noise gate with high threshold to not get buzzing when the guitar is quiet, and that just makes my sound worse. Is it the interface? I've been thinking on getting a Scarlett solo 3rd gen, but I'm not sure that will fix the problem.
I don't think it's a problem from my computer. My processor is a ryzen 7 3700x. This is my main PC which is used for gaming and it's in the high end tier. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi David: Not sure why, but when I installed BIAS-FX 2 on my 64 bit Windows 7 Home PC, it sounded pretty bad, and nowhere near as good as Guitar Rig 5 (which was already installed and is my current favorite amp modeller) - and sure didn't sound like any of the reviews I've heard on RUclips. I tried my best to get good tones out of it, but - nada. Not sure if it's my PC or the interface I'm using (Cakewalk UA-1G with ASIO as driver). Comments or suggestions anyone? Thanks in advance!

The website says windows 7 isn't supported. You need windows 8 at least. However, it also says that some users have had luck with windows 7. I'll install the trail on my windows 7 machine tomorrow and tell you how it goes.

Hi Christian: Thanks for the reply Brother! That sounds great! I'm truly amazed at the tones I get out of Guitar Rig on my PC (Win 7), and I'm very satisfied with it, but - you know us "Tone Fanatics" - the search is NEVER over! Oh, and by the way: I also installed Ampltude and S-Gear and they BOTH also sound terrible! LOL! I'm wondering though - do you think the Cakewalk UA-1G was made specifically for Guitar Rig as a USB interface? I'm wondering if I bought something like a Focusrite or ProSonus that it might make all the difference? Hrrmmm....

Hi David, thx for your great work. I have bought this software but i must say I'm very disappointed. All the sound are very cheap. Sounds like a guitar played throug a telephone. No body, no warmth. Impossible to get a decent clean tone. My strat however has good fat 50's pickups. I tried with my tele, with himbucker. It all sounds like thin crap when mixed with other i instruments. Am i missing a setting ?

As good I think. I never noticed any latency with either one.

Same. The CPU hit a bit higher - say the same preset on BFX takes 2% CPU the BFX2 will use 2.6%. Adding the modelled guitar adds CPU quite a bit

Question for a noobie to BIAS here.
I like to jam along to songs so I want a system that will allow me to download loads of different tones so I can play along and sound like my favorite bands. Is BIAS FX 2 the software for this? Do they have a big data base of user generated tones I can download and use? If so which version of BIAS FX 2 should I buy? I dont want to buy one version and then have to download loads of extras

yes and yes! You can try the demo version for free and they give you a few amp models to try and it is better than other software right now. I can play Metallica and get very close to the Black Album tones now.

Make sure you have BIAS loaded as a plugin through Garage Band and not using it as a standalone app.
