I usually dial out some of the highs because there’s something about the top end that seems less pleasant I guess. Other than that, I really like what Positive Grid did with this. That guitar match thing really works. I really like the rackmount reverb in it. It’s pretty smooth sounding. Some of the more odd effects are fun to play with.
This is good stuff and the affordable way to explore all kinds of amps and setups on a budget with limited space. Also helps me figure out my favorite amp setups and tone combos. The Mesa Boogie amps are superb as the Diezel amp model and Marshall.
Sonically Bias Fx 2 is so pristine and clear. Its hard to explain but a side by side comparison with Bias Fx 1 and it just feels less boxy and more organic. Worthy of an upgrade if you have got the cash.

Put some nice IR's from own hammer in the IR loader and rock out on the great amps bias fx 2 provides....add a midi board and ex pedal and u can gig with pristine sound any where
Hey! Does the guitar analyzer also work with alt tunings (f.e. cgcgce, dadgad, cgcfad, and so on)? And/or baritone guitars? I also have a lot of other instruments available, like bouzouki, mandolin, etc... were I'd like to enhance the clean sound and be able to forge'em the way I like them. Great video by the way! Other than still needing some real serious dithering and oversampling, it is a real step in the right direction. It depends on your needs and how hard you push it, but as long as you step back from getting near hard limits, it’s a lot of fun and a useful tool set.

I like this but wondering why Positive Grid didn't push the boat out all the way and include Danelectro ,Rickenbacker 12 string or Mosrite emulations instead of 4 strats , which apart from crazy 60's japanese guitars ( admittedly very niche )would have covered just about all the sounds used in current music

Would be nice to ethernet it to your amps, but no. You need a interface like focurite 2i2 or 6i6. Its a external soundcard handling the sound from your guitar with a input to connect your guitar. You also need either some studio monitors or some headphone. Then you just download the software. Yea, you can just use it in standalone mode, or use a daw. reaper is a good one, free until you decide you pay for it.
How are you able to get such a clean sound? Even when I load a clean preset, I've got hum/buzz. It's to the point its unusable for me. If I use an external hardware unit I dont have the noise. I'm using a scarlett solo audio interface. Any ideas on what the issue might be? Thanks!
So question. How do you not get crackling and buzzing when using distortion? Hell even using flanger or chorus? I'm getting a huge amount of buzzing when using those. I use the Behringer UM22 as My interface, buffer is 256. I have tried with 512 and there's no difference at all. I have to use the noise gate with high threshold to not get buzzing when the guitar is quiet, and that just makes my sound worse. Is it the interface? I've been thinking on getting a Scarlett solo 3rd gen, but I'm not sure that will fix the problem. I don't think it's a problem from my computer. My processor is a ryzen 7 3700x. This is my main PC which is used for gaming and it's in the high end tier. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Maybe its the cord from the guitar to the interface. I have a behringer UMC202 HD and I do get some buzzing when using high gain setting but I use a noise gate and don't have to turn the threshold up that high to get no buzzing.
@@cheffboyardee123 I've tried with different cables. Even when I unplug my guitar from the interface, I still get buzzing. My best guess is the interface is ungrounded so all those electrical signals are picked up by it.

No it's not. They promised a tool later on to convert your old B FX into into new B FX2 format. Now on the tone cloud 2 the most of the original B FX presets do not even show up or locked.
They will ad very soon a preset transfer option. The same for midi that will come out in update any day now. The transfer prest may come out same update

I have both, and still like them both. But If no bias fx, then I recommend the fx2. But fx 1 is some how lighter then fx 2, but the sound fuller on fx2. You have the looper, guitar mach.

I think they all pretty much do the same thing, it’s a matter of which interface you like. In today’s day and age modelers are really really good in my opinion!
Set up something fullrange if you haven't yet, a nice small pa 10" or 12" drivers ideally, download the demo versions of them both. I'm loving TH-U. I wasn't impressed with any of the other offerings but may try BIAS FX2 again at some stage. Although, I'm not hopeful it'll be better than TH-U, I didn't give bias much time as I had already found my 'tone' in TH-3.
Hi David: Not sure why, but when I installed BIAS-FX 2 on my 64 bit Windows 7 Home PC, it sounded pretty bad, and nowhere near as good as Guitar Rig 5 (which was already installed and is my current favorite amp modeller) - and sure didn't sound like any of the reviews I've heard on RUclips. I tried my best to get good tones out of it, but - nada. Not sure if it's my PC or the interface I'm using (Cakewalk UA-1G with ASIO as driver). Comments or suggestions anyone? Thanks in advance!
The website says windows 7 isn't supported. You need windows 8 at least. However, it also says that some users have had luck with windows 7. I'll install the trail on my windows 7 machine tomorrow and tell you how it goes.

Hi David, thx for your great work. I have bought this software but i must say I'm very disappointed. All the sound are very cheap. Sounds like a guitar played throug a telephone. No body, no warmth. Impossible to get a decent clean tone. My strat however has good fat 50's pickups. I tried with my tele, with himbucker. It all sounds like thin crap when mixed with other i instruments. Am i missing a setting ?
Question for a noobie to BIAS here. I like to jam along to songs so I want a system that will allow me to download loads of different tones so I can play along and sound like my favorite bands. Is BIAS FX 2 the software for this? Do they have a big data base of user generated tones I can download and use? If so which version of BIAS FX 2 should I buy? I dont want to buy one version and then have to download loads of extras
yes and yes! You can try the demo version for free and they give you a few amp models to try and it is better than other software right now. I can play Metallica and get very close to the Black Album tones now.
I tried to record from bias fx2 through my focusrite interface into my garageband, it does work when it actually appears i mean bias fx software but when i try to extract the file that i recorded the tone from bias fx is gone? Im i missing anything or is it supposed to hapen that? Does it only works while software is active and no recording?Please help

I think your talking about dirty frequencies. You have to look for them and cut them. Watch how to use eq on lead guitar. Completely normal thing

Just regret that the standard version doesn't have a MIDI option for the looper, as a on-off pedal is very useful
Also sadly the Klon pedal is locked behind the professional version

Well, it looks the same as Bias FX 1 except the guitar match is added. They should let Bias FX 1 be upgraded to Bias FX 2.

Same. The CPU hit a bit higher - say the same preset on BFX takes 2% CPU the BFX2 will use 2.6%. Adding the modelled guitar adds CPU quite a bit

Do they have a big data base of user generated tones I can download and use? If so which version of BIAS FX 2 should I buy? I dont want to buy one version and then have to download loads of extras
yes and yes! You can try the demo version for free and they give you a few amp models to try and it is better than other software right now. I can play Metallica and get very close to the Black Album tones now.

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could explain to me, why are some effects/pedals/amps broken?
Like when I play them, all I hear is hiss..
I tried to record from bias fx2 through my focusrite interface into my garageband, it does work when it actually appears i mean bias fx software but when i try to extract the file that i recorded the tone from bias fx is gone? Im i missing anything or is it supposed to hapen that? Does it only works while software is active and no recording?Please help
Make sure you have BIAS loaded as a plugin through Garage Band and not using it as a standalone app.
