I love how Toyota’s GR line still includes manual transmissions for all its cars. I think they should still be an option in their performance packages for any manufacture. It’s not always about 0-60 times.
Most buyers want an automatic, hence why the manuals have become some uncommon. The market dictates it. There are only around 3 dozen or so models sold with manual in US, and slightly more in Canada.
@@XenoRacing the problem also is that manufactures think that people only want a manual as a cheaper alternative to an automatic. So only the base model will have a manual option, but dealers always try and upsell to higher trims, or they want the performance packages that only offer automatics. And that’s even if the dealers get a manual for their innovatory. It becomes a self fulfilling idea that no one wants automatics, when in reality is that the cars they want manuals in never offer them. Like I would love the Subaru Impreza RS to have an optional manual. But they don’t.
That statement would be correct if we were still living in the '80's. Since we're not living in the '80's anymore for quite a few decades the automatic transmissions outperform the manual in every way. And that sorry excuse of it being more involving is just a fantasy which all those wannabe racecar drivers would like you to believe. And that's basically the focus group that still prefers a manual over an automatic, people stuck in the '80's and wannabe racecar drivers.
I'm 26, trying to teach my friends. Most of them are convinced they're gonna instantly blow up my car even though I didn't know what I was doing when I started either. The few that do get it way quicker then I ever did, mostly because I teach it better then my parents ever did. Not that my parents don't know what they're doing, I just remember what it was like having no idea what was going on.
The percentage of people who know how to drive manual is always seeming to be dropping more and more. I've known how to drive manual since I was 14 and I'm 35 now.
This already the answer for the Nizmo Z because this already has lots of features more like magnetic ride, a better manual, full leather and a better motor.
I've been waiting for *this* review. I mean a review of GR Supra MT by Sarah - 14 minutes of condensed information, all on point.👌 I'd also choose GR86 over Supra - better fun per💲ratio. Also it's the one I can actually afford. P.S. Subaru announced 2024 BRZ tS - a cousin to 2024 GR86 Trueno.
I just detailed one of these! What a cool car. Just hard for anyone over 5’8” to get in smoothly. You have to adopt a new entrance and exit strategy so you don’t hit your head.
The cool feature of the “station buttons” is that they are like short cut buttons for everything. I used them for phone contacts, screen on/off and radio etc.
Hey Sarah, i’m glad you like the manual. I was impressed with all the work Toyota did to get that manual right. and couldn’t agree more about the steering wheel the wheel is a big part of the character of the car, but in this case just isn’t right, I would definitely go aftermarket and I don’t really like doing that but I’ve seen some really nice wheels that definitely improve the look of the interior. And you nailed it again absolutely the 86 for half the money thereabouts , I want a supra But the 86 is definitely the smarter thing to do we shall see have a great one🐧🐧🐧👍

So, the manual Supra is even more fun than the automatic. In other shocking news, dogs bark, it's hot in July and it rained again in New England 😁 I guess you'd need to go to Colorado to really test out that uphill hairpin turn function - I found plenty of them when I took a road trip there last year. Great review, but do have to correct you, the B58 gen2 here does not have Toyota D4-S. D4-S meant it is direct and port, this only has direct, no port injection sadly.
I own a 2017 BMW M2 and I recognize many bits and buttons from my car, especially on the dash board. You can look at it in one of two ways: either it's tried and true or it's outdated.
You can definitely change the chunky steering wheel to a sport wheel. That’s the same wheel they offered on regular 3 series. The 3 spoke sport wheel is much better. 😉👍🏻 I’d take the new Z. It’s a bit more old school. 👏🏻😎
Been trying since the summer to buy a manual transmission supra in red/orange/yellow and none are available without a significant markup. I can afford the markup, but I can't justify it when I'm already driving around in an M4 CS which had zero markup, and I'm not looking to trade the car, but add the M4 to the household.
