This is day 225 of my journey to get to a rating of 2000 on chess.com.
Bit frustrated with my inability to beat these lads. First game was a classical dutch, the second was a Jobava. Eughhh....
So far on the series:
167 wins 21 draws 137 losses

B-man - The opening is not the issue, so I wouldn't think about changing that up. My recommendation would be to switch to 10+5 or better yet 15+10. That would give you more time to think.
You also do what I have fallen into and am trying to climb out, which is only thinking about what I am doing and not spending adequate time thinking about what my opponent wants to do. That is why I am susceptible to forks and uneven exchanges.
Keep fighting through it - at this point it's just a mindset thing - I know, I'm there too.
@@GeorgeSmyth thanks for the tips, yes... Need to work on this
You got this dude! Keep pushing back. Be cheering for you either way. No worries.
Thanks brother! More games to watch when I lose I suppose haha
Hang in there Owen. They were interesting games so thanks for sharing. In the first game your opponent was playing the stonewall attack.
It looked kinda like a stonewall, didn't know it was a thing with white! Nice!
LeBlunder James cannot be stopped
Who is he
Maybe the woodpecker merhod again?!
@@palette3748 I've started studying it again in my free time, which I don't have a lot of, but yes
PUSH BACK THIS BRO
@@immortily1673 okkkk
If you want to try some more openings, try playing Ruy Lopez, Colle, or Catalan systems. I play them a lot with white and find a great success with them. I also like the Slav defense but it's a tad bit more complicated from a positional standpoint with black.
I'm not interested in e4 at the moment, but thanks haha
@Blunder_Man Play the Catalan with D4 then, one of my favorite openings. If you like the sicilian, learn the najdorf. If you wanna learn a setup with black that has less control for the center but quick development, Grunfeld is a great one. Analyze some of MVLs games for these.
@@Yute01 good suggestions, thanks
Besides the blunder in the very end, overall, that was well played endgame. Your opponent had to sacrifice his rook for your bishop just to equalize.
Yeah I did feel like it was pretty solid overall, thanks brother!
Chin up son!
Thanks big man!! Will do!
Hey I also started playing the Dutch recently do you usually put the Queen on e8
In the classical Dutch it is a very common move yes
@@Blunder_Man thanks
