Hi Everyone! I want to point out, I explained why I don’t use eye cream at night. That doesn’t mean it will be exactly the same for everyone. I always say this, but skincare is very personal. You don’t NEED an eye cream, but they’re nice. If you want to splurge on it, that’s fine. It’s not going to hurt you. It’s just a nice luxury item in your routine.
Susan Yara what I want to know is do you moisturize that area at all at night. Do you find a moisturizer necessary in the area. I get that eye creams can be overpriced ripoffs and that you can use another properly formulated moisturizer. I don’t wear makeup so i mean on clean skin do u find moisturizer on eye area necessary or useful.
Susan Yara hi i dont use eyecream too but i used eye patches sometimes...and also u said in your one video the way to put eyecream so i guess if u have great skincare it will cover up the eye area too coz u said wen we blink and we put eyecream its will go directly to your eyebags so no need to apply it near the eyebags..so just wanna share i dont use eyecream too as it doesnt change any... once i tried and i had milia...so i stopped...thanks for the info...
Susan Yara, I use eye cream both at night and in the morning but now that I have watched your video I see that I put it differently than you. I put it on my eyelid and under the eye (as you said in the video that people have asked you about these areas). What do you moisturise these areas with when you are putting make up on or would you put eye cream on those areas when you put makeup? I don't know if it is a great idea to not put any moisturiser on and under my eyes when putting makeup.
Susan Yara totally agree with you! I've used different eye creams on and off since I was 20; I don't think they're necessary. It's one thing if you have dry skin and need moisture around your eye area; it’s another if you're young and don't have a need for that. Eye creams always gave me milia anyway.
Omg you are so right. When I use Clinique eye cream at night I wake up with puffy eyes and I couldn't understand why. Thank you. Because when I use it in the day I do indeed see better results. Thank you.
*Eye cream sales jus dropped 50%* 😅

Excellent video content! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you thought about - Parlandealey Forever Young Process (do a search on google)? It is an awesome one off product for learning what to eat to slow down your ageing process minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my cooworker got amazing results with it.

It is an awesome one off product for learning what to eat to slow down your ageing process without the normal expense. I have very dry skin including my eye area. I find that the eye cream I have really helps the fine lines and sunkenness. I don't get puffy eyes like ever so I guess that's just me.
same here. i feel like the area around my eyes is more "plump" instead of sunken in like you said
Which eye cream do you use?
Which eye cream do you use?
Which eye cream do you use Veronica?
Veronica left us hanging lol
I love how you break things down. Also keeps me from buying stuff just because some influencer endorsed the product. Love the honesty.
Agree. Dr. Dray and Dr. Lim are saying the same thing. I am using my face moisturizer Avene recovery cream as my eye cream. No irritation at all.
I came here to say the same about dr dray. I also use my cerave cream for my eye cream and my under eyes are so moist when I wake up.
Karen Karen I use avene cicalfate under my eye well all over and concentrate it under my eye and seal it in with the laneige water sleeping mask in the same way
strawberry_shortcake4life i mix my avene with a tiny bit of retin a. 😊
@@ashaeburgess9884Do you still like this sleeping mask?
Even Dr.Liv creamer said that it's a waste of money
You said it yourself - skin around our eyes is more delicate then on our face. So it needs different skincare. I cannot put my retinol around my eyes because it’s too strong. And I have normal face skin and dry skin around eyes. So it needs more moisture and more oils. This are two simple reasons to use eye cream 🤷🏻♀️
Agree
My eye cream has retinol in it (castalia chronoderm). It is great and does not irritate the eyes at all. I do use it 3 times a week. The days I dont use the retinol one I use a simple hydrating one and I have never noticed sewlling or anything at all. It helps with fine lines. Both to "treat" and especially prevent in my opinion.
Figurista - Девушка с формами eye creams are useless
Not true. You want serums that penetrate any skin. I use all my toners, serums and moisturizers all over so alo around my eyes and it's great. There are moisturizers that are too thick for the slin around the eyes but usually good quality skincare does not have that peoblem.
@@katch2511 you can use retinol all over your face, why just the eyes?
I have been using eye cream since 18, not all expensive products, sometimes cheap korean brands. Now in my 30s, no need for botox for crows feet! There’s a korean brand AHC eye cream, very affordable that I like!
Could you give the brand, please?
On amazon, search “AHC eye cream for face”! ❤️❤️
Amdarela I also have a list of sites I frequent for korean eye care products ;) DM me on Instagram if you want!
Thank you🙂
eunicesueanne 유니스수안: Hi! Which one? Season 4, Season 6, or Season 7? I see different ones on Amazon listed under “AHC Eye cream for face”. Thanks! :)
I definitely notice improvement in fine lines when I use a good eye cream. I've been using dermalogica age reversal complex eye cream and I've seen drastic results. If I don't moisturize my eyes, they get super dull sand saggy. If I try patting regular moisturizers around my eyes, they get edema because face creams are too heavy for my eye area. So, I'm happy to spend on my eye cream for the results.
wow, I have milia on my cheeks and since you say that about thick creams I really think it is the The Ordinary moisturizer because it is thick! I'll switch it up ASAP
No, it's not the moisturizer or other cream, but the way you used them. Milia can be caused by heavy creams, where the skin around the eye is much thinner than other areas of the face. If you layering too much skincare especially on your eye area (like when you use too much/ thick moisturizer - you reapply 2 times) that's what cause milia.
I am also a nonbeliever of eye cream. I used to be, but then I realized, it really doesn't do anything. So what I do instead is, I put generous amount of moisturizer around my eyes🤗🤗
That's all you need, a moisturiser that's safe for use around the eyes
I use eye creams and it actually helps and personally it makes a difference for me
ROW VLOG same! Eye creams have totally prevented any wrinkles or crows feet for me even in my 30s.
I agree with u girl❤❤
@@eunicesueanne What ones helped you prevent them? 😱
Amanda Kate I liked AHC eye cream for face! Purito also has a good formulation. :)
@@eunicesueanne thank you!!
Your skin can swell if dehydrated most puffiness in skin is due to lack of hydration or irritation, eye care can help puffiness, extra hydration dose and has been proven to slow down signs of aging from showing, as for dark circles I will agree MOST eye creams that claim to fight under eye darkness have some from of skin whiteners, BUT if you watch your ingredients you can find eye creams that are stimulating and promote blood flow witch can brighten the area and is great for your skin! I am a licensed esthetician and I enjoy doing my research, everyone has there opinions but I’m a firm believer in not thinking that what works for me is what works for others, eye care can be extremely effective for someone who needs it!
Cassie Blass totally, many eye creams are really effective and don’t contain hydroquinone and bleaching ingredients that Susan only knows... she’s not perfect, and I’m sure after she’s done more research she’ll understand different ingredients more. I used to have terrible dark circles and now a product that contains ketones totally cleared my dark circles and there are peptides targeting puffiness etc. so, we should still do our own research and not rely on the video gurus.
Cassie Blass what eye cream do you recommend?
What ingredients promote blood flow? I’m curious :)
Slow down or reduce the appearance of aging?
@@ayumuhamano1198 Could you share the products that you use, please?
Susan yara is the reason i subscribe to this channel literally the best skincare goddess 👌🏼
Oh. My. God. Thank you so much for this. I started using eye cream this year since I turned 30. But then I started to notice milia on my eyes last month so I discontinued eye cream. I do only place them when I know I'll be wearing heavy makeup on a certain day. Thank you for validating my reason for not using eye creams too often anymore. 🙏🙏🙏
@strawberry_shortcake4life thanks. I freaked out a bit when I noticed the milia starting that's why I stopped the daily use of the eye cream. 😊
Wow, i thought it is only me who had milias after eye cream.
I’ve heard about not needing eye cream as I’ve been looking for a new eye cream. This is perfect timing! Thanks.

I don’t necessarily believe this because I’m 52 and I use a eye serum. It’s helped dramatically with my dropping lid, crows feet and the lines towards the nose area.. I tried putting it on as most RUclips people do by dabbing it on as shown in this video, it did not travel to the corner area was still wrinkled. But when I used the ring finger and lightly applied it allllll over the eye lightly smoothing it in,that’s when I saw a huge difference. I say to each their own but when you get a certain age you do need to focus on eye care or you will look old before your time.
I've started using an eye cream about six months ago because I noticed some fine lines and that the skin around the eye area was dry and the makeup set into the fine lines. Before, I used the normal moisturizer for my combination skin on that area too, but it seems it was too heavy and started to get milia. I stopped and bought the Hydrating eye complex from Exuviance and in about 2 months or so, the situation really improved and my fine lines almost disappeared. Could be a coincidence, but I like eye creams and if you really find a nice one that is fit for you, I think it is impossible to not see results. But you can also use a light (gel) moisturizer that you usually use for your entire face and know it works. Well, it is up to everyone if they want to use an eye cream or not.
Thank you for the video!
Tabacaru Delia same! I think my use of eye cream for the past 12 years is really te reason why I don’t have many eye wrinkles at age 31. I think it helps me too!
Omg I also don't use eye creams at night. It makes my eyes puffy and makes it look like its swollen. Loveee y'alll
Same . I tried 100 and I always look worse and my eyes burn
Weird. The eye creams and eye essence I use doesn’t cause me puffiness nor milia. Hmmm. I use a certain 2 in the morning and a different 2 in the evening. Without them my eyes and crows feet look and feel worse. 🤷♀️
4 different products? the marketing really worked on you girl
Evi Ozyra one would think but no. I have 2 K eye creams that are large and are taking forever to use up. I found them so I just decided to use them in conjunction with my other 2 so I can empty them without trashing it. Lol. I call them eye cream toppers because they are light. Like essences.
Cinderfire: Could you share which 4 eye creams you are using?
Miss Mona sure! In the morning I use Hado Labo age correcting eye cream. Once that’s soaked in I top it off with a bit of Whamisa organic flowers eye essence. At night I’ll do Cera Ve eye repair cream and after that the Whamisa chai tea eye cream. The Whamisa ones are lighter than the other 2. I mainly use the 2 Nd ones to concentrate on the smile lines. They all soak right down and my eye area never feels dry. Doesn’t burn. I put them al over my eye area. Lids and underneath. When these run out I’m torn between which ones are the best because they are all great. Sigh
Cinderfire: Thank you! 💋

bindassaziz "the ordinary"...effective and affordable!👍
i agree, i get most of my skincare from the ordinary and i find it works very well! go to the "regimen guide" on their website for information about how to use each product and what it's intended for. the only thing i don't think they have is ceramides, but there's a natural alternative to cerave called ceramedx, and that is available on iherb.
I use rose water and sweet almond oil under my eyes at night .. works pretty well for me🤷🏾♀️
Naturally Quilo How do you apply rose water?
sagrika tanwar I spray it on then pat it into my skin
I use extra virgin

Oh good! I hate the feeling of eye creams. I do look super puffy in the morning but not anymore. I started just using Charlotte tilbury magic cream as a full face moisturizer. It really is magical!! Ive got mature skin. I started using jouer eye patches in the morning and it is a miracle as part of my new skin care routine. I'm using some naturium claudelie surratt... all the products that Nikki La Rose uses plus more at night. I'm going to start retinol. I'll order it from you!!!
I'm at the age where puffiness is a problem. So I use eye gels. But the Paula's Choice ceramide enriched moisturizer works just as well for me.
THANK YOU for affirming what I already instinctively felt. For someone who lacks a scientific background, I struggle with researching the effectiveness of skin care, so a lot of it is simply based off of trial and error and ultimately instinct!
Most Dermatologist will agree with you! I stopped using eye cream a year ago and honestly it has not made a difference.
I don't think that anyone should take this video at face value. It's just one person's opinion. Starting to use an eye cream in my mid 20s was definitely one of my best skincare decisions. It's me saying this 10 years later... Moisturizing an eye area is an excellent preventative measure. Your skin needs moisture to look young and plump and overall be healthy. So do your under eyes. But because it's a delicate area it needs to be a special and light moisturizer. And of course putting prescription strength retinol under your eyes is never a good idea so yeah it has to be a special eye cream. Finding a good one that doesn't make your eyes puffy in the morning is a challenge but there are several really good ones out there.
can you recommend some?
I totally agree! I have been applying eye cream since 18, and now at age 31 I have no eye wrinkles. That being said, I don’t get the most expensive. I love Face Shop Eye cream or AHC eye cream!

Omg when you talked in a previous video about where to apply eye cream, I'm like "but I already put regular moisturizer there" lol now I know why.
Susan could you do a video on your favorite drugstore skincare? I don’t have a big budget for skincare and would love to hear your favorites for all skin types!!
should we only apply sunscreen up to the orbital bone?
If eye cream is the same as regular cream why do my eyes always sting and burn but never with regular eye cream ???
I have really deep set eyes and thin skin, so I have very blue circles under my eyes... I rarely have puffy eyes ( only had it once because of medication) so I do use eye cream and gels....
One thing I have found that I actually really enjoy is benefits puff off - even when I don’t have puffy under eyes I do have hooded eyes and the puff off reduces the hood a bit and helps the makeup to look beautiful....
Not everyone has the same skin type. If eye cream makes your eyes puffy in the morning, and you strongly don’t feel the need to apply eye cream at night AND in the morning, then you do you. But there are also a lot of fellow sisters out there have super dry skin on every inch of their body, so signs of aging/wrinles can be seen in their undereye areas a lot more obvious than others if they never moisturise that area properly. So again instead of saying this is the way to go, it would be more informative that you can also share that this is not the ONLY way to go, as a lot of other ladies out there are researching and finding their right their skincare regime - who will then stumble on your video to find out that eye cream doesn’t work - which is neither right or wrong.
Also to debunk the myth: the consistency of your face serum/moisturisers IS NOT the same as that of your eye cream/serum, as in a lot of case face serum/moisturiser can be too thick/rich for your eye area and cause millia.
So girls please to go out there and find the right eye cream that works for you: I use Estee Lauder eye cream and has millia, but when I switched to a Shiseido eyecream its completely fine! One of my girlfriends (who is the same age as me) doesn’t agree tho because the Estee Lauder one worked for her and not Shisheido so...yea
You obviously didn't read my comment.
Thao Nguyen Gigi go to a skincare professional to give you advice on your specific skincare needs!
I actually disagree with this. I was starting to experience a sunken in under eye area and slight fine lines, and I’d never used eye cream before (I’m 25 btw) so I decided to start using an eye cream for under my eyes every night that was infused with collagen. I saw instant results the very next morning. I love how it fills out my under eyes and gives my face an extra youthful glow. I would definitely recommend using eye cream ESPECIALLY at night. But I guess everyone is different.
I don’t suffer from puffiness or dark circles but just the fine lines that wisdom (aging) bring. I personally am a believer in a good eye cream morning and night and the habit of using one. Even though you could use a regular face cream under the eye the intentional difference of application on that delicate skin is worth incorporating the extra product. I’ve tried a good skincare routine without it and with it and I absolutely see a difference. *and I don’t live in a desert 😂 I live in Hawaii but I do work in AC* I’ve been impressed with the options from Shiseido and also the Kiel’s creamy eye treatment. I will say a good eye cream should last you 6-8 mo because you don’t need much of it at all.
So what about those of us with sunken undereyes? I'm 22 and my eyes are VERY noticeably deep set. Always have been. It's hereditary. My night routine helps but I want my undereye to be more plump like the rest of my skin. And I rarely wear any makeup. Would an eye cream be more useful for me?
(My night routine: cleanser, toner, exfoliator, serum/essence, moisturizer. Morning: cleanser, toner, spf moisturizer, smoothing primer)
I agree with you on the point that eye cream can't help with the dark circle because I've been using it since 17 and it gives me no effect on that. However, as a person who have a relatively dry skin I do find an eye cream as my holy grial product. I also love to apply an eye cream before putting on my make up because it helps me to glide on my concealer much smoother.
I totally agree about not using heavy eye creams. I bought into the hype of eye creams when I was younger and got several milia around my eyelids that took forever to remove. Now I just use regular moisturizer and works just fine.
I do use the same cream for my face and eye area. Contrary to Susan, my eye area lacks fat and my eyes are quite hollow and the bone shows a little bit so I'm specifically looking for that plumping/puffying effect in the morning. Khiels creamy avocado is a good choice for people with dry undereyes. I also use Q10 to whiten the under eye area.
theoneandonly2503 I love the Kiehls avocado eye cream! I have very dry lids and it has completely improved them. Plus, everything irritates my eyes. I’ve tried dozens of eye creams, but the Kiehls one doesn’t bother me at all.
Q10? Which product is that please?
Thanks for sharing! I use Glycelene Eye Repair Oil (am & pm) then I apply Dr Roebuck’s Down Under Collagen eye cream. I use my ring finger to apply them with a patting motion (clockwise & counter clockwise) on my orbital bone only. I find it useful but I also don’t use Botox or fillers or anything like that on my face. Do I think it works miracles? No of course not but I appreciate the hydration in that area. Just my 2 cents.🙂
Don't you think that saying 'eye cream' is a very broad word or at least it's too general. There is quite a variance in quality, and ingredients in formulations to eye creams. Saying that they are just smaller bottles of face cream it's kind of misleading, not all face creams should be used around the eye area. I mean we are talking about a huge umbrella of products. I think this is rather too general and people will take your advice pretty quickly. There are many comments here saying that they are going to throw away their eye cream based on this very personal and general thing you said. Eye creams can be very helpful for many people. They can be a gentle formulation for the eye area and lighter than their face cream so it's not as irritating. You absolutely need to keep moisture in your eye area to prevent wrinkles. Yes you do
Exactly! Even if the formulations look the same, they surely vary in concentrations and quality..I get the claim for puffiness (which is very personal), but saying they are not necessary and could be replaced with ANY moisturizer/product, is too much. 😑
You can't prevent wrinkles...
@Periwinkleeyes70 Well, I'm actually an esthetician and eye creams are crucial for a good skincare regime! That being said, not every eye cream is suitable for all people. Again, we all have different skin (type, texture, ageing or young, thin or thick, etc.), so it's important to buy an eye cream that will work best for your own specific needs. Eye creams are much more sensitive to the skin (especially if you have oily skin everywhere else, you can't use the same face moisturizer for your eye area, it's too harsh). But I can see if you have dry and sensitive skin, you could probably make that face moisturizer work for your under eye area as well. Just because that face cream is already made similar to other eye creams - it's thick, emollient, it hydrates and nourishes skn, and it's okay for sensitive skin - won't hurt to apply it on your skin around the eyes! :) So you have to think logical about skincare as well. People online seem to like playing experts, but PLEASE double check everything before putting it on your skin (or not putting it on your skin, lol).
Periwinkleeyes70 iskin around eye area is more sensitive than the skin on the face. It’s a fact that Eye area is thinner skin too.
Samanta Rizzi exactly!!!!!
I watched this video by a dermatologist that also said you don't need eye cream, but you could mix your moisturizer with like a vitamin A, B, etc serum (I can't remember exactly bc I watched it a while ago!)
I saw that too
Extremely helpful. Can you do a video on milia?
I have combo skin and tried many eye creams. generally lighter formulas that didn't do anything, really. Then I started using plain ol'Cicaplast Baume in my eyes. It was the only cream that helped me with my fine lines, dry and sunken skin, and dark circles.
I also use my (light) moisturizing skincare on my eyes (toner, essence, sometimes brightening serum) and a bit of rosehip oil in the end, but it's more like a plus. Also, Cicaplast was the only one that didn't make my eyes burn if I stayed up after putting it on.
Is mucllar water eye makeup remover good simple brand plz but am senstive has to be unscented and non soapy
OMG...I thought just me, no matter how expensive, brand, ingredients etc etc when I apply the eye cream at day or at night I have puffiness throughout..I felt better knowing that you have the same experienced.
I stopped using eye creams about a year ago. The skin around my eyes has always been sensitive, but as I get older, one thing I've noticed is how puffy eye creams make my eyes while I'm sleeping. It's just not worth it. I use my precious time in the morning trying to depuff when I could be lounging with my coffee or sleeping in a little longer.
Do you apply eye cream before or after moisturizing? Want to try to add it into my skin care routine to see how my skin does! Thank you
So I'm super confused and I wonder if anyone can answer me this... what about retinol? I'm afraid to use face retinol around my eyes because I'm so sensitive, but the retinol eye cream that I have is thick. I have combo skin and I'm wondering if it's too thick...
I'm sure this sounds stupid.... but is there any product/moisturizer that you can put directly on your eyelids and up into your bottom lash area? Do you always just completely avoid this? I get dry skin sometimes in the corners of my eye and I have very thin skin under my eyes and on my eyelids. I just want to avoid faster aging in my eyes and of course just have the best skin possible there. Susan or anyone have tips for me on this?
I know people say eye creams travel, so don’t put it so close to your eyes, but if I’m putting sunscreen, makeup, and then setting spray, I don’t think it’s moving where I want it to. When I was using the wrong sunscreen, my skin dried out so badly, that even a heavy eye cream wasn’t enough. When I found a lighter sunscreen that worked, I had to switch to a lighter eye cream, because I was starting to get milia. I continue to use eye cream to keep the skin there hydrated because I’ve gotten hardcore with my sunscreen use. I apply 2 layers, usually 2x/day. I know that a lot of skincare isn’t made for use under the eye, and some products will specifically say to avoid the eye area, so I’m not relying on anything else for under eye moisturizing.
I agree! I notice that people who use eye cream end up with bags. I have a family member who use ls and now she has bags at 77 years old but her sister never used eye creams and she is 2 years younger and has NO BAGS period. My opinion.
I’m 30 years old and I’m starting to get crows feet but you only notice them when I do put concealer on so I just want to know which I cream would your recommend to use before concealer . I understand you really don’t have a favorite one but if u had to choose what’s the best one before makeup use ? Thanks again for the video
I've just made oil based pads to remove my waterproof mascara. I use a water based wash after. Is the oil going to cause problems? It's the only way I can remove my mascara. I use waterproof because no matter what I've tried doing with my under eye prep and makeup I always end up with the mascara under my eyes. I used high end to drug store and they all do it on me. I've only just started with the home made oil pads.
5:24 Very truee, I used to put oil around eye as eye cream and one milia appeared my inner corner lid.
at night time do you put your normal moisturizer in your eye area?
Abbi Boyles that’s what I’m wondering. Not moisturizing the area sounds questionable although I don’t think you need a separate moisturizer for it.
The right eyes cream will not travel into your eyes even if you put it right near your eyeball ...like literally and it will NOT cause milia. The right one will not make it “puffy/anything funny.” No active ingredients needed but you definitely need it mainly for moisturizing. Shiseido future solution eyes/lip cream work for me. If you try to use face cream as eyes cream then most likely you will find milia or other troubles if not good for you. You might have to try 50-100 eyes cream b4 you find the right one for your skin type. The skin around your eyes need more protection than the rest of your face. I’m 36 and my customers alway ask if I’m in college. Thank you eyes cream!
Couldn't of said it better myself..
If you’re exfoliating properly you will not get milia, like Susan said you have to have a good skincare routine in order to see a difference in your entire face, including your under eye, either way you shouldn’t be applying products directly under your eye the skin is too thin there and doesn’t receive product the way the skin in the rest of the face does. There’s no scientific backing on the need for an eye cream whatsoever.
totally agree
Wrong. Eye creams are made with smaller molecules versus face moisturizer bigger molecules. Eye creams work on the hollow eye area where there is very little collagen versus the face. That's why they are a little expensive.
Viviana Pizarro I agree. !!! Do you have any favorite eye creams ? ;)

Exactly. Professional product lines formulate products to specifically treat that unique area of the skin.
I bought eye serum and i was putting it on at night but i notice that my skin under my eyes was very tight and super dry in the morning so i started putting it on in the morning aswell it was messing up my makeup because my under eyes were crinkly so i stopped using it altogether now my eyes feel much better and look better i agree with you you feel you should have eye cream so you use it but it really didnt work for me
I’m told eye creams are necessary as some ingredients for face creams (or whatever type of moisturiser tickles your fancy) are too strong for the eye area. However I have sensitive rosacea skin so I do my best to buy ‘gentle’ moisturisers so by default, it should mean they’re safe for around the eye area right? Especially if I’m just applying it in the area you recommended, and let them travel upwards naturally. What do you think Susan?
Me: knows that the skin around my eye is the most sensitive and I should be gentle
Also me: when I’m having allergies attacking my eyes and rubbing the heck out of them...
Hahaha🤣

I have recently been wanting to get into chemical exfoliants but I don't understand; do I take them off after applying. I have found a few which are like alpha hydroxyl acid exoliators, do we need to wash them off? I read on a random forum that they stop working within half an hour but I can't find a credible article etc. Also with chemical exfoliants do we need to wait before applying toners afterwards? Any help or if someone could push me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. x
princesswhatever: I don’t rinse chemical exfoliants off, but some do if they have sensitive skin, or so I’ve heard. And yes, wait about 15 minutes before applying anything else. Hope that helps. 💋
I have major bags and have had them since I was a kid. definitely a family trait. Working on my fluid retention, congestion, sinus issues and allergies was what helped me the most. I do use a cream for the darkness and it has helped as per some photo and Visia tracking I've done. Vivier Grenzine Eye Cream is what I use. I think in the past all the creams VE used really did very little and were a waste of my money. I am 48 and have very little sun damage and very reactive skin.
I like that you mentioned where you live makes a difference. I live in the mountains of Colorado at over 6,000 ft with an average of 24% humidity plus winter. Broad spectrum SPF AND moisturizer is mandatory here, especially moisture for the eyes and lips. I am normal/combo and I use a gel moisturizer, the Clinique pep step eye cream, and a separate SPF and SPF lip balm. At night I'll leave out the SPF and add my retinol cream and twice a week either a moisturizing sleeping mask or a sleeping mask with niacinamide (usually a brightening type). I am with you on the eye oil though. I'm not a big face oil user either. Growing up in Colorado, skin oil and sun are a big No-no. My mom used to say we were roasting ourselves like chicken! LOL
Seriously I feel like I learn so much from you!! Can you do a review on The Real ladies? Only Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon have uploaded skincare routines but I love to see your review/feedback!! 💘💘💘
Adrienne used the wipes. Susan will not be happy 🤣🤣🤣

Yes! I would love to see Susan's response to their routines

I understand that most eye creams just contain the same ingredients as my regular moisturizer but a lot of moisturizers and serums contain ingredients that are too harsh for the delicate skin area. So if I shouldn’t use a “eye cream” what should I be using to moisturize my delicate eye area? I have very thin skin around my eyes and I have for as long as I remember so I definitely feel like a need something for my eye area, if not just for preventative measures.
I understand most eye creams just moisturize the area and that softens the lines momentarily, but if the area is dry won’t that make the lines deeper on the long run? Moisturizing doesn’t avoid lines to get deeper?
Andr ' If the area is dry, then you can apply eye cream...or your moisturizer. That’s my point.
Oh yeah I do agree with u, specially the time I stop eating sugar I notice a huge difference on my entire body and face with good real healthy nutrition I realised that my skin dose NOT need all of these kind of products .. just a good constant care and I'm totally FLAWLESS
My Ole Henriksen eye cream gave me milia bumps 😔 everyone raves about it but its ruined my under-eyes
@@dianatrujillo1185 yeah they eventually went, I stopped using the eye cream and they went down so it may have been too rich for under my eyes
Me too. Ruined my eyes by giving me the biggest bags of my life. I have such bad luck w eye creams. Only good one has been Mac years ago but I’m looking for a natural or clean alternative.
I do agree with u eyecream is just another name for moisturizer but in small packages. Those companies and other beauty gurus claim that the eye area is too sensitive and delicate to use some moisturizers, so for me I use Squalane oil which is a really lightweight for my entire face including the eye area.
Susan, thank you for your honesty. I am turning 60 in a few months and haven't used eye cream in quite some time. My eyes are dry, but I find I can use my moisturizer to handle the dryness, since I don't wear much makeup these days anyway. I probably would consider an eye cream when i do wear a full face of makeup, but that is so rare these days.
But eyecream keeps the skin around your eye hydrated which prevents wrinkles doesn't it?
Also you said you have some crow feet which is natural but doesn't using retinol prevent it?
I use my face essence or serum or Moisturizer they if i really need . But like u say not too close . Because i have seem this one day i put my skin care in rest and just applied face moisturizer around the eyes it was all over my eyes and almost come to my upper lips . Its really travel all the way .
My favourite serum to use rn is Ordinary's Matryxil+HA. I'm in my late 20s so some signs of aging have already started. This polypeptide serum is very good for the fine lines and the hyaluronate plumps up the lines and smooths things over. I stick to serums for my eyes. Basically I cannot justify buying so little amount of product with so much money, especially when you get similar ingredients in the serums you already use.
I love putting vitamin E oil around my eyes day and night. I’ve noticed less crinkles and it brightened them a little... surprisingly it works well under my makeup too. If anyone wants to try this I suggest searching for a thin formula and testing it because some people may get a allergic reaction. Read ingredients people READ lol
You look absolutely stunning in this video!
Omg you are so right. When I use Clinique eye cream at night I wake up with puffy eyes and I couldn't understand why. Thank you. Because when I use it in the day I do indeed see better results. Thank you.
What you think if I mix Differn ( Retinol) with my cereve moisturizer and put it around my eyes and neck?
I did try it couple times but not sure if I will make eye area more thin? I didn’t get irritated by it on eye and neck area thou.
Thank you regarding the information about milia. I recently got milia under my eyes and around it, and now I got to know what was causing it and had it professionally removed. Thank you!!❤️
Eye cream with Retinol? Is it safe to use all over the skin if you are super dry , and lack moisture ? Example : glow sleeping mask vs glow retinol eye cream?
I use eye cream because my skin is oily and my eye area is dry. So to balance that out, I use a light weight cream on the entire face and a heavy occlusive one on my eye area.
I am here cause I been trying to look for an eye cream. As Im getting bags from sleeping late and working long hours. Since I started using eye cream and serum, I started getting lines and under eye bags. I never had that problem before.
So what do you use to address eye wrinkles?
Naturium peptides eye cream, according to Susan.
I got a very tiny bump under my eye from applying eye sleeping mask
For last few years I've realized that eye creams are just like expensive moisturizers. I just use my everyday moisturizer on my eyelids and under my eyes every day and night. Maybe when I get older I will start using an eye cream in the daytime, but I think it's important to let people know that eye cream is unnecessary because it is so expensive! Thanks for this video!
This is so much more helpful than the black and white way eye creams are typically addressed (skip them or they’re essential).
I do use eye creams, but I must be honest and say that I get the same results with CeraVe PM and my favorite facial oil.
Whats the best night eye cream ur right i always did wrong passed year always always over my lids under no woundr dy didnt wrk am so stupied whyyyy whyy😏🙄🙄🙄🙄
Hello! I am 21 and I have heard several times that “you need to start wearing anti aging or eye cream in your 20s”, so is that not true?
So what do you do with puffy / bags under your eyes???

I’ve been using eye cream since I was a teenager, I’m now nearly 40 & I don’t have any wrinkles, fine lines or any signs of ageing around my eyes (or anywhere actually). And yet the people I know who don’t use eye creams look a lot older with wrinkles around their eyes. Don’t believe everything a youtuber tells you
I'm nearly 40 too. Skincare is personal, but lifestyle and genetics plays a major role too.
I also don’t use Botox or filler.....
omg. me too! i dont have wrinkles or fine lines unless i smile but they dont stay. but my husband has lots of lines. so.. do i really have to say that i have great skin and genes cause i dont have any eye wrinkles? i dont think so. cause my sisters have them eye lines. only i have been wearing eye cream and sunblock since i was a teenager.
Iana Emi same! I’ve been wearing sunblock and eye cream since I was a teen 😊 No wrinkles at all so far yay!
@I V thats a good point though i dont use sunscreen anywhere arnd my eyes.
I don’t know about her but I’ve been putting eye cream for the longest time and it helps tremendously. My respects to her but just because she says something doesn’t mean you have to do it. Every skin is different.
Some dr. Say no need to use ring finger and this one say ri g finger. I am just confuse .
How can I cover/ lessen my dark circles😫 suchhhh a struggle
I have combination skin for which I use an appropriate hydrator and/or moisturiser. My eye area needs more than that because it's dryer. I think if you have dry skin and use an oil based moisturiser than that would also suffice for your eye area. You probably are one of those people and this solution works for you as you mentioned. It depends on your skin type.
would you not even use the paulas choice retinol eye cream? i really have seen a difference while using it. I totally get not using one at night though
You have the most educational skincare videos~I also leave having learned so much!
I cannot go without eye cream. I have dry skin, and the patches will kill my concealer. Not only that but I’ll get wrinkly real quick if I stop using it.
