Susan Yara yes I do . Because I don’t live in the US and a lot of other makeup / skincare / procedures spoken about in your other videos are not available in my country .😕
another reason people think their hair might grow back thicker or darker when they shave is because before they started to shave their hair would fall out and grow at different rates, when you shave and cut the hair all at the same point they all start to grow at the same rate giving the illusion of thicker darker hair
to add to that a lot of people also start to shave their legs around the same time they hit puberty and those hormones actually do change the hair on your body and can make the hair thicker and darker so they hit puberty and start shaving and automatically think it’s because they shaved and not because of the new hormones in their bodies
Exactly! I hate it when people tell me I'll grow a mustache because I shave my upper lip! I've been doing it for a long time and nothing has happened to my damn hairs..
That might be true but it still has the same effect.. Whether it looks thicker or is thicker it doesn't matter. I don't need to measure the thickness of my hair in order for me not to like the way it looks. So I definitely think this 'mythbuster' could lead to a lot of disappointment to people who shave their hair thinking it won't have any effect and then end up with hair that at least looks thicker.
Slapping avocado on the skin; the image made me laugh 😂. So glad you touched on the “chemicals” subject and stated the difference with toxics, which is really what we should look out for. I am binge-watching these beauty videos and loving them. Great content!
But she is wrong. An avocado might not be as good as avocadooil, but it contains a lot of avocado oil, which is an excelent skin penetrator, thus used as enhancer for other oils with precious ingedients, that would not make it deep enough into the skin without the help of an enhancer. And the avocadooil itself contains too very nutritient ingredients for the skin. It can actually penetrate. It can very very well. It's just not bringing everything your skin needs in one fruit.
5:38 So true! My mom bought a bunch of products from Lush and none of them helped with my acne until she took me to the dermatologist where all of the prescribed creams did help

I was after the same thing, for me it worked the products from The ordinary and i am in the middle of more experiments, however, it is important to tailor it depending on your skin type
For me the BEST thing was getting extractions done when I got a basic facial. For my skin, using all the exfoliants/acids didn’t work for the closed comedones that were underneath the superficial layers of skin. I went every 6-8 weeks for about 8 months and my skin has been so much better in terms of texture. I haven’t gone for an extraction in about a year. Just make sure to go to someone who has experience and isn’t overzealous, which can cause more damage to the skin (e.g. bruising, dark marks from aggressive extraction, etc.).

My mom is obsessed with "natural ingredients". I'm pre-med so I study a whole lot of chemistry and I keep trying to explain to people that the word chemical doesn't describe something bad, since even natural substances are made out of chemicals as the definition of chemical goes. Thanks for spreading the word and correcting people.

The thing with natural products is true ,they are not the safest. The worst "natural"products that distroyed my skin are Mario Badescu products. I had a instant blemishes on my skin and made my skin super sensitive. Advice for you all ,when you buy a new product especially a "natural"one and if is all over the internet even more, just test it in a small area on your face and see if everything is ok.
I’m sorry but Mario Badescu is not a natural brand. They’re one of those brands that pretends to be natural by using a couple “natural ingredients”. Look at the ingredients and near the end of the list, it’s a bunch of ingredients you can’t even pronounce and have never heard of. For natural and high quality skincare products, check out blue beautifly, herbivore botanicals, and Evan healey to name a few brands
@@CelStarProductions I bought Mario Badescu's products when I wasn't that educated in skincare and for me then ,the smell was an indicator that the products are natural. Great video. I’m subscribed. I use to say to people who claims that natural is the best, I say that poop is natural and you don’t want to smear it all over your body. Hahaha
I have a malformation called Pili multigemini, and actually my hair does come in thicker when I shave it. Shaving triggered my hair follicles to produce multiple shafts, and this never happened until I began shaving. The hair on my body that has been shaved now permanently sprouts multiple shafts from each individual follicle-I am 30 and have had 2-3 hair shafts per follicle all over my body, since I was 12 years old. Unfortunately, for me this happens only on my body and not on my head. Also, I get folliculitis frequently. So although in most cases it is a myth that shaved hair will grow back thicker, for some of us it is true, but it’s not a positive experience.
Mage Baltes | oh my god no way. I thought I was the only one! I have multiple hairs growing out of each pore. I frequently get ingrown hairs because one of the 2 or 3 hairs can’t get through the pore opening. So annoying!!!! I ended up getting laser hair removal and it is a life saver!
I think another reason people may believe if you shave, your hair will grow in darker is that ladies often begin shaving their legs, pits and pubes at puberty age. Hormones have a huge effect on hair growth and color.
You should definitely talk about parabens being the safest & best examined cosmetic ingredients TO DATE, the fact that skin does NOT breathe, cosmetics do NOT get into the bloodstream and also that cosmetics do NOT clog your pores and it's all about washing your face the right way. Ugh, I work in a drugstore and it honestly is so annoying when people keep spreading these myths and even try to argue because "the internet knows better".
1. There is a pit of a controversy in what she says about the grey hair compared to what is said about shaving. Firs of all, the baldness reference is *absolutely false*. Men going bald is based on hormonal changes, that can't be prevented. Even if you would use a lot of topical remedies to make your roots really strong it wouldn't change what you are genetically destined for. Secondly, if you can harm the hair follicles by plucking out hair, as is said about the grey hair, you can respectively let the follicle heal by cutting it short so that the root gets time to return as deep as originally. Therefore you are asked not to shave in between waxing or sugaring if you are trying to get the hair in sertain areas less thick. The myth about shaving is correct if you compare the effect to removing the hair by its roots. 2. Any material in any product is chemical! Instead, the difference is really between naturally sourced or synthetically created/prosessed ingredients. Certified official *natural cosmetics are never toxic*! The truth is, most of synthetic ingredients actually do nothing to the skin, only make it more confortable to use so that it feels nice and sells better. One great example is the use of mineral oil in most synthetic lotions. If synthetic product does have natural oils, there is only a little and it's usually heated to make it smoother, and when prosessed it will lose its nutrients. Raw natural oils absolutely have more to give to the skin, mineral oil does nothing but cover the surface of it. Same goes with most emulsifiers that are biggest part of any synthetic lotions (liquid products). "Organic" on the other hand refres to how the ingredient has been grown, and usually aims for high levels of active components for example in essential oils. There is a lot of greenwashing in synthetic cosmetict and only claiming that it's natural generally means nothing. *Certificates matter the most*! Organisations behind natural certificates supervise all ingredients and phases of the products sertificated, there is no animal testing allowed and the conditions for allowing sertain synthetic ingredients are really strict about anything that has been proven harmful. Allergies are a different thing, and you should always check for ingredients that will be harmfull for you personally. Was it about synthetic or natural products doesn't matter at all. Even if a sertain synthetic ingredient helps you, generally natural ones are more ethical and effective. There is wide range of qualities inside of the natural area too, but compared to most effective synthetic ingredients the most effective natural ones tend to be even more effective and at the same time less harsh to the skin and also environment.

Thanks i am tired of hearing to beauty gurus saying that only natural skin care is good and chemicals are bad, like every skin is different and allergies can develop for any ingridient. For example lavander could be very irritant but is a flower so its natural. Also about the botox if you star younger more wrinkles you are going to have if you stop doing it, botox only works if you contantly use it. Because if you dont use the muscles of your face they end falling down.
Interesting! What's going on when a gray hair grows from a brown root? It starts gray but then has melanin again? I'm thinking stress made the follicle sprout gray, but then when the stressor is gone, it returns to normal. I have no idea really.
my parents are COMPLETELY convinced that shaving makes hair grow back thicker even when i show them scientific evidence and prove it doesn’t!! i can’t get them to believe otherwise :’(
Can you please explain more the difference between non toxic and natural ingredients? What is the difference? Which ones are non toxic? Because I've thought that these two things go together but you actually separated them so I would love to know more about this topic please 😊
"Natural" ingredients are extracted from products that grow or are found in nature. Coconut oil, essential oils, bentonite clay... So they usually come from one single product (ie coconut oil). And they do not content anything to make them skin-friendly. Which is the problem. For instance, olive oil contains some really nice active molecules, but it is also a crazy pore-clogger, creating breakouts. Which is why most people will prefer that it is chemically altered before they put it on their skin. Another example is essential oils, which should never be used pure on the skin. Toxic ingredients are (in this instance) industrially-produced ingredients that harm your inner chemistry. A good example is paraben, often found in sunscreens and face creams, really effective but really bad for you. A lot of industrially-created ingredients are not toxic. There is probably a fair amount of propylene glycol in either your shampoo, shower gel or both, and so far research has shown no toxic effects from it.
Can you do a hair care video? My hair breaks easily and I've been considering trying scalp oils and such. So basically like you skincare video but for hair would be awesome! Thanks :)
I heard you mention avocado not working because it won’t be able to penetrate, I hear coffee grounds and egg whites are a really good mask I been thinking about it but I’m always skeptical on “remedies” what are your thoughts on these?
Katarina yes that is true, you should always apply oil or even just thick occlusive moisturizers to wet or at least damp skin to lock in the water (hydration)
Patina77 facial yoga can increase stress from movement on skin, a better way is to use an oil and gently massage your face and lift it upward The only kind of face yoga that’s not harsh is puffing your cheeks to remove nasal labial folds Just don’t overdo anything hope it helps I’m not a doc or anything it’s just what I’ve heard
Hi susan I am big fan of you and worth your opinion. Pls tell me which is the safest way to deal with body hair? I always get folliculitis even when I get good quality body wax. Which way is the best way should I go to laser, as in asian countries we have direct exposure to sun and face really hot days. Pls reply or make a video on it
Tayyaba taybz I have folliculitis as well. I had to get laser hair removal and let me tell you it was a life saver! It was the only thing that helped me and also the ingrown hairs from waxing. I still have some areas that need to be done .
@@Emkay6 Many thanks Emi for your kind suggestion :) Being a biologist, I dont know why I feel fear to go for laser. 🌹✨🌹✨🌹 Plucking grey hair doesn't create more grey hair... U may feel that a product isn't working but actually it's just maintaining the perfection already done Not all natural products r always good and not all chemicals r bad ...u can even have allergies with milk eggs and some very natural stuff, but u do look for non toxic products. Don't have Botox too early in ur 20s or even 30s enjoy ur skin
No those 2 product dont mix well. Better use vitamine c HA in the morning, and niacinamide at night, or the other way around. Just not at the same time.
I -think that's a great question. I find that most of the "stay out of the sun" advice we get is coming from countries that do not have a sun / beach culture. I grew up in the sun. I find that if I DO NOT get enough sun in the summer, my skin actually gets a lot worse. It is a matter of genes and personal chemistry. So, I use plenty of top-quality sunscreens, I never wear makeup or perfume in the sun, I make sure I don't get sunburns, and I'm good to go. Know what works for you before adopting other people's do's and dont's.
*Great video!* I've got a great question! Can you actually be damaging your skin by always using OTC AHAs? I feel like some people end up using 5 or more between chemical exfoliations/serums & moisturizers in their AM & PM beauty routines. Thank you so much - love you guys ❤
Love your videos! But I've heard lots of different things about this.... What age should you start using retinol and is it less effective when you start too young? xx
But my leg hair grew twice as long as before i started shaving them..no jokes..tmi but that one hair around my nipple is SO long after i shave them wtf is that
My pet peeve beauty myths are advertising words like "oil-free" and "non-comedogenic" there is NOTHING wrong with putting oil on your face. I prefer moisturizing with a single ingredient oil because I can pinpoint what ingredient works for my skin. I HATE non-comedogenic because there is no such thing as a product that doesn't clog pores on every single person. Worst is when you look at the ingredient list and it is FULL of known pore clogging ingredients. You can sell a bottle of pizza grease and slap "non-comedogenic" and no one could stop you.
Uh, I started my skincare routine when I was about 12 when puberty hit. I just used Noxezma and moisturizer. I’d start now just get into the habit. Don’t use anything harsh if you have decent skin!
Patty harsh as in....rn i use klairs products in series of toner...vitamin c/serum.....eyecream (cosrx)....moisturiser/night cream ...sunscreen..... I use sheetmask twice a week n exfoliate ones a month....... .so is this ok ??. Also m thinking of shifting from klairs to laneige products as with klairs its is my first time doing skincare so i think I should explore to find out what suits best for me.... . Is doing this ok?

THANK YOU for the chemical and natural thing! That topic needs more attention.
I love your channel content. This was a great way to address facts in beauty. TFS
I would like to know the proper way to condition curly silver 60 year old hair
Is it true that you should use oils on wet face?
Katarina yes that is true, you should always apply oil or even just thick occlusive moisturizers to wet or at least damp skin to lock in the water (hydration)
Yes. Like this video. Would also love to see more hair product reviews! Preferable Asian products
How about the use of coconut oil as a moisturizer for the face? Just subscribed and love the channel.
An ingredient that can clog pores really badly. It can work for some but Susan does not recommend!
Please do a Part2 of this video. Pretty please. It was very informative
Is facial yoga actually a good way to get ahead of fillers and botox?
Patina77 facial yoga can increase stress from movement on skin, a better way is to use an oil and gently massage your face and lift it upward
The only kind of face yoga that’s not harsh is puffing your cheeks to remove nasal labial folds
Just don’t overdo anything hope it helps I’m not a doc or anything it’s just what I’ve heard
It comes in my mind may be laser could make some genetic modifications when we get exposure. later on some harmful effects on our skin. :( Well I am going for laser, so fade up of other waxing methods

Plucking grey hair doesn't create more grey hair...
U may feel that a product isn't working but actually it's just maintaining the perfection already done
Not all natural products r always good and not all chemicals r bad ...u can even have allergies with milk eggs and some very natural stuff, but u do look for non toxic products.
Don't have Botox too early in ur 20s or even 30s enjoy ur skin
Loving those sleeves ❤️
We need more of these videos😍😍😍😍😍
Can you please Lmk do I have to keep my 10 pack of rice sheet mask in frig? I bought them at a Korean store their in a reseal cool bag.
More Beauty Myths please!!!!😁😁😁😁
hiii queens I have question can I put vitamin c + HA on my face and then use niacinamide + zinc??
No those 2 product dont mix well. Better use vitamine c HA in the morning, and niacinamide at night, or the other way around. Just not at the same time.
I just discovered this and wow. I. Love. This. Channel
Great video! You explain so well!
Please show us an u depth hair care routine
Something I've heard is that you shouldn't use vitamin C during the day time.
Is it true?
Not true. However, you must use spf if you use vitamin C in the morning
Can I still have good skin when I am in the sun? like if I tan in the summer or am always by the beach/ outside?
I -think that's a great question. I find that most of the "stay out of the sun" advice we get is coming from countries that do not have a sun / beach culture. I grew up in the sun. I find that if I DO NOT get enough sun in the summer, my skin actually gets a lot worse. It is a matter of genes and personal chemistry. So, I use plenty of top-quality sunscreens, I never wear makeup or perfume in the sun, I make sure I don't get sunburns, and I'm good to go. Know what works for you before adopting other people's do's and dont's.
Love your look in this video. Would love to know what products you use.
Or let your hair go gray/silver! It can look awesome!
*Great video!*
I've got a great question!
Can you actually be damaging your skin by always using OTC AHAs? I feel like some people end up using 5 or more between chemical exfoliations/serums & moisturizers in their AM & PM beauty routines. Thank you so much - love you guys ❤
Love this so much!!! But do you still do The Sass with Sharzad? (I'm sorry if I spelled her name wrong)
Omg this video made me realize so many things
Please do a Reacutane care video
Yes love it so informative!!! 😘😘😘
Love your videos! But I've heard lots of different things about this.... What age should you start using retinol and is it less effective when you start too young? xx
But my leg hair grew twice as long as before i started shaving them..no jokes..tmi but that one hair around my nipple is SO long after i shave them wtf is that
Woah woah woah my hair has not gotten any lighter from waxing over time, if anything I've seen it grow darker and thicker...
It doesn't get lighter but it does get thinner over time for a lot of people. Are you still going through puberty by any chance?
Can u please do a review on BIOELEMENTS products
Wow this helped a lot I didn’t kno any of this
Love this! You look gorgeous BTW!
So question about Facebook...before or after Moisturizer?
Omg! This makes so much sense lol thanks Susan! 💕😘
Wee need moreee offff youuuuuuu
If we start our skincare early(from 21 years of age) is it bad?......
.
My doctor said there is no need of skincare at my age but i think he is wrong.
Nikita Rakesh I started my skincare routine around 20 and I’m glad I did lol people tell me I look 16 lol
Grand Crest ohhh...great m also happy doing it but from d day my dermatologist said that m little scared.
where is your top necklace from? ☺
How do you get your teeth so white? Can you share your secrets? Thank you
But it is good to re-stimulate the facial skin and always expose more cells in new ways to regenerate. Like switching up cell boosters. Ask dr Fuchs

Whomever comes up with a long lasting “Botox” will be a multimillionaire in less than a year. 😊. Won’t be me tho. Sigh
Very informative video. But the comparison with bald men is not really good....because baldness is related to male hormone.
Catherine Théberge Totally agree with you. Cause I felt like the hair around my mouth does grow back thicker when I shave .......😭😭
@@rubymars5493It really doesnt. Its physically impossible. It just feels that way what it's first growing back. Besides exchange bald men with guys with naturally thin sparse hair and it would be the same thing.
Very helpful informations thanks a lot
