what a "wild" maestoso-allegro op 111, and what a "wise" arietta and variations op 111. May be the best rendition i have ever heard, even better than his studio version . My personal taste, of course. RIP maestro may you sit very close to Ludwig.

Thank you so much fot this release. I didn't noticie it two years ago. My fault. Outstanding recital., the best Diabelli Variations ever heard. Brilliant and profound. Top performance of Opus 111. Bagatellen less refined on expressive side. Pollini was a great Master in tre 1970s and 1980s.

As close as you can get to Michelangeli recording of op. 111 from 1964
back then Pollini was probably still very influenced by his lectures.. later he developed a different approach
