You guys are being very brave in this endeavor and I could not be happier that there is still someone out there with enough passion and will to make all of this happen. This is by far the most exciting car in years. Not only from Toyota, just in general. I do hope to get one someday but for now, at least, thank you for being the beacon of manufacturing that lets us, average car guys and girls, dream and not require us to be the top 1% of the world to realize that dream. PS. Do an aerial photo of that parking lot and make it a poster to commemorate the fun embodied into its surface.
Thank you for not forgetting the people that do not see a car as a plain means for transport but as an emotional thing! I wish there were more manufacturers like you who do not just fit the mainstream but who can remember what this is all about! My pre-order is in and I am so looking forward to picking it up!
Real handbrake, AWD, turbo, 6-speed, big brakes, good interior and toyota just made the most exciting hot hatch of 2021. Please release a 6 speed turbo awd hot hatch in North America!
@@basithph8958 A lightweight rally homologation AWD turbo hot hatch isn't the same thing as a FWD pos with some gAzOo RaCiNg bits sprinkled on it. Look at the pathetic JDM GR Sports line of boring car and go figure.

Because US, being the special snowflake that it is, does not honour UNECE regulations, and does its own things instead. And due to the close proximity and extensive trade relationship, Canada more or less have to copy what US does. This means, given the relative unpopularity of anything that is smaller than a SUV in North America nowadays, car companies have practically no incentives to reengineer a hot hatch to comply with US/Can standards. Is this absolutely infuriating? Hell yes. Is there any way to change this? Unless smaller cars became somehow popular in North America again, probably not.
Nice, it's Toyota's way of mocking the poor USDM drivers that will never get any good Toyotas. Ever. If Honda had the balls to bring over the FK8 Type R, you guys should do something too, instead of a pathetic gR cOrOlLa. USDM Toyotas are beige and bland with a hilariously low manual take rate in the GT86 (~30%) compared to the BRZ. I wondered what happened to that once great company that brought us the Celica GT-Four, Supras, and MR2s. Now the car in front of me is a beige Camry with a dent on the rear bumper cover.

2:36 I really want to know what they are talking about 😂
So, why can't we get this in the US? I don't get the feeling the GR Corolla will be done in the same fashion....
