I know I really did not expect that :O, was quite positive feedback though and was happy with that :)

There is some great character stuff in these episodes, even those clips of Clara’s betrayal you showed by themselves got to me.
BUT I also consider this story the one single time the show went too far with something. And that’s the implication that everyone who had been cremated on earth had felt insufferable pain in some kind of afterlife.
Given at least some children would have recently been to a grandparents or other family members funeral I think this was too far. Fine for Torchwood if they’d done it there but not for Who.

These are truly well written episodes although I can fully understand the concern of the writing maybe being a little too deep, especially for anyone who has recently lost someone but..
Could you not say the same about "Sleep No More" or the Dreamcrabs in "Last Christmas" though? These literially invoke fear about sleep - a normal thing that we all do.
I do have a smaller project im working on discussing the writing of Moffat and this kind of stuff, It has definatly gave me some more to think about :P

@@TardisTalks I think the show is fine to scare kids. It does It all the time… this just felt different to me. Like I said I do think it’s the only time the show has gone too far.

Possible it could have been approched in a slightly different way, I do agree this could have been done amazingly as a series for torchwood though.. a deeper dive into this with an even darker theme would have worked so so well!
