I love seeing all the 11 love here in the comments. it literally makes my heart ache thinking how we could've gotten so much more of him and clara. matt smith literally said he regrets it. ugh. sobs.
My list of NuWho doctors worst to best: 7. 13 (obvious reasons) 6. 14 (amazing but only had 3 episodes so naturally low on the list) 5. 15 (been really good so far, but we've only seen 1 season so far) 4. 9 (he had one season and it was amazing. I might be bias because Rose is my favourite companion ever) 3. 12 (had an absolutely amazing performance, he could be funny, sad, dark, happy but it was always just so great) 2. 10 (obvious reasons) 1. 11 (his child-like personality and quirkiness was so unique and he will probably always be my favourite)
dont flame but for me it goes (worst to best): 13 (Obvious) 15 (haven't watched but can't be worse then 13) 14 (Love tennent but not this as much) 9 (same reason) 11 (Loved it) 10 (Loved it more) 12 (Larger than love)
I love the eleventh! His facial expressions, capable of conveying childlike spontaneity, joy, and at the same time sadness, and even the ability to turn into a frightening person - this is phenomenal. At one moment you rejoice with him, at another moment you see an old man in his young face. In a speech to Akhatan, he suddenly changes into a lonely Doctor with pain in his soul, although before that he joked lightheartedly. This is amazing! But I also really like the twelfth Doctor. His story is more mature and serious. It seems to me that this is a logical continuation, because time passes and not only the Doctor grows old, but we too... And it is logical that the series should grow up with us.
I couldn't share a more precise opinion. I love every comment you make. I caught ten-itis which is a disease of overkill. The show started to feel like it was the David Tennant show. Yes, I loved him at the time, but I don't think his comeback as well as the passage of time has served his Doctor well; what once were considering positive attributes now just grate. I find him sooky and self-indulgent and to much a character of extremes. Capaldi is incredible and made the crummiest stories watchable. As far as acting goes no-one comes close to Peter. He really is a genius in the world of acting. I loved Smith but I always appreciate people who have the courage to state an opinion they know will not be popular and I respect you for that. Ten though has gone from top dog to second worst and let's face it with Whitaker's limitations on the role combined with Chibnall atrocious writing, well how could anyone else be put last. As for 14. I refuse to see him as not ten. It’s the same character. Worst to best: Whitaker, Ncuti, Tennant, Eccleston, Smith, Capaldi Score for each: Whitaker 3/10, Ncuti 4.5/10, Tennant 5.5/10, Eccleston 8.5/10, Smith 9/10 Capaldi 10/10 Capaldi - a Doctor for adults Smith - a Doctor for all the great reasons explain by Nekrist. Smith could pull it all off convincingly Eccleston - gravitas and powerfully emotive, retro cool Tennant - the populist Doctor but annoyingly smug and OTT often Ncuti - okay but he does not feel like the Dotor to me Whitaker - a caricature that even failed at that level. Chibnall much to blame.
@@triplejazzmusicisall1883 I agree, Capaldi is so deep. I really fell in love with him even more. I think he should have been the last Doctor. It can't be better. He is literally the biggest fan of Doctor Who. For me there is no 13th or 14th Doctor. Capaldis regeneration feels like the end. And when he speaks about the idea of kindness and love he speaks not to the Doctor - it's for us, for every human being. "Be the Doctor"
@@Nekrist._. We really think completely the same on this. I would have missed the show, but I think if it had of ended with Capaldi and with him actually passing away it could have been one of the most beautiful and loving even if very sad endings in television history. It just felt like that's what it should have been especially since he a couple of times mentioned how everything ends and it's always sad but there are new beginnings...' With new beginnings I think he is referring to life in general and not an individual. He was incredibly selfless and compassionate and kind (beyond how most people see the definition of the word - which is very limited). Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Obviously because I resonate with them so much, they were a delight to read. It is always wonderful when another feels the same way about a viewing experience especially when it’s the end of an era. I feel sorry for those who for whatever reason didn’t stick with Peter - they may never know just how special he became. I could also rave about Matt Smith but that would be another essay. I think you covered Matt brilliantly. For me Matt followed by Peter made for the perfect two-sided coin or ying and yang. Together they were near perfection. All the very best to you and hoping you have a great life ahead.
My Rankings: 1. Twelve (Capaldi is god, Series 8-10 are all superb) 2. Eleven (I love him and the ponds, and Moffat cooked with Series 5) 3. Ten (Series 2 was mid but as you get to the end of his run, from the latter half of Series 3 it just gets phenomenal, leading to Waters of Mars which is my second favourite Doctor Who episode ever, behind only Heaven Sent) 4. Nine (Wish we could've seen more) 5. Thirteen (She was a great Doctor but Chibs and his writing let her down) 6. Fifteen (When given good material (aka Boom) Ncuti shines, but most of his episodes so far have been really mid and we haven't seen much of him yet) 7. Fourteen (As much as I loved Tennant, I really didn't like the idea of a newer doctor being an older doctor)
based 🔥🔥🔥 I agree fifteen has not had nearly enough screentime yet, I can definitely say that it will be near the top, I personally thought the latest season was great. Not sure how much of that is from good writing or good acting, but it was just overall fun
For some reason right now as of season 1, Ncuti hasnt clicked yet for me. Its odd because all the ingredients are there, but theres just something a bit off, like theres no dark side to his character at all that made Capaldi, Eccelston and Tennant shine. Hopefully that will change soon!
Yeah I feel you, they’ve branded 15 as the recovered version of 14s trauma that he’s carrying from 13, but I love a dark doctor, hope that changes soon too 👌
@@CybusIndustriesEmployee thing is, 15 is already displaying old toxic traits like non expression or lying so how much rehab out of order did he really have?
I find Matt Smith had a more believable dark side. Eccleston and Tennant only had a dark past, but the Eleventh Doctor really can be evil in his plans.
One of Jodie doctor’s companion had stated “I had a mate who had one of these. I think his was a bit bigger actually” This definitely proves your point
I'm so happy to see the comment section so... normal 😭 you just see everywhere now people hating on the latest season for probably being too ""woke"" but here even though some comments ranked 15 low they actually were reasonable about it and recognized that there isn't enough yet to fully tell
So honestly I am curious without taking the writing of the episodes into consideration would any of these rankings changed? I ask bc 13s personality is so fun but yeesh her writing
Eccleston will always be #1 of nuwho for me. I’m alot older then many of your watchers, i grew up with watching reruns of classic who, Tom Baker being my favourite of all time. If you told me to close my eyes and imagine Doctor Who and ask me the first Doctor I imagine is, it would be Tom. However i grew up slowly and slowly hating Doctor Who because after school (where i lived in Canada) it was the only thing on for an hour before Star Trek came on tv, and the public access tv station was in love with showing reruns of Colin Baker‘s Doctor series, which i still hate. I didn’t even know there was a 7th doctor until Paul MacGann’s tv movie. So i was done, me and the Doc had parted ways, They stopped showing Baker eps, i had no interest. Then came Eccleston, this leather jacket wearing silly Doctor that was nothing like i had seen before but i could still feeling that mystery Baker’s Doc had…i haven’t missed an episode since.
My list of Nuwho Doctors from best to worst is ⬇️ (I won’t be ranking 15 yet until his era is over, because I don’t want to incorrectly judge him before he’s done) 1. Eleven - I grew up watching his era and I love his personality, companions (I was named after Rory lol), and his storylines the most out of all the doctors- he may not be everybody’s cup of tea but he sure is mine. 2. Ten - Ten is very close to Eleven in terms of my ranking, he has a great personality, character arcs, and I absolutely love the Doctor and Donna as a pairing 3. Nine - The reason I like nine is because without him, doctor who wouldn’t be continued. His era of doctor who was short, but effective in bringing in new viewers and fans of the show. I do think some episodes are a bit childish (Especially the Slitheen 💀) but the other episodes make up for that. Plus the finale of nine’s era was phenomenal. 4. Twelve - I think twelve gets so much hate from people that haven’t even watched his era. I’ll admit I was a bit stubborn to watch the doctor be an old man because I wasn’t used to it in the Nuwho eras, but the writing is PHENOMENAL. The most I can say about twelve is that I think he really captures the doctor’s “essence” and his writing is exceptional. 5. Fourteen - Although fourteen was only present for the 60th anniversary special (that’s why I won’t rank him high) I still love him because I love ten and David Tennant in general, and he’s basically just ten in a different suit 💀 6. Thirteen - I really tried to like Thirteen because I like Jodie Whitaker, but Chris Chibnall’s writing for her was SO BAD. I could barely get through thirteen because the writing was so bad I feel like even I could do better. Nothing was really memorable from her era and I think choosing to have three companions at the start was way too many, even two seems to be too much sometimes! (and that’s coming from someone who loves amy and rory, and rose and mickey) One thing I hate though is that people use her era as an excuse to be sexist, 13 being bad has nothing to do with her gender, it has everything to do with the horrendous writing (Thanks Chris Chibnall! 🙄) Anyways that’s my list 🤷🏼♂️
My faves from best to worst are 9, 12, 10, 11. The others don't count because Chinball's timeless child changed who the Doctor was and ruined the show for me.
Peter Capaldi or Matt Smith has to be the best, in terms of, the have the best effects, stories. David Tennant and Eccleston are the ones who made me fall in love with the show though.
Nerdy answer, It’s for algorithm purposes 😂 having under 5 minutes means more clicks which means more reach, meaning more views and more channel exposure 😆 if it were up to me, I’d rant for hours aha
David tennant is my favourite, Christopher eccelsten was fantastic but he only had one season,Matt smith was amazing in series 5 but after that his version of the doctor became way too silly and was hard to take seriously,Peter capaldi got better and better with each season,it is interesting going back and watching his development but I still don't really enjoy him that much in series 8,he's a little too gruff,Jodie Whittaker was the first doctor I've seen that I never understood, she never felt like the doctor to me and her personality seemed to shift from episode to episode,David tennant I enjoyed from start to finish even if not every episode was that great
My List of NuWho: 6: 13 (Didn't hate her, just none of her episode really clicked with me) 5: 14 (Not much out of him) 4: 15 (Wasn't bad so far, but I like the others better) 3: 9 (My first doctor wish I could put him higher but the other 3 had more time for me to get a attached to.) 2: 12 (His dynamic with clara was funny, emotional, and captivating. Out of all the doctors, he felt like he was constantly trying to teach people. He's also just cool, a doctor that can shred. And his speeches are just so good) 1: 10 and 11 (could never pick between either of them. their both just good in their own right. 10 was a tragic and had the most human-like emotion. And 11's quirkiness and personality is just so interesting and funny to watch. AND they both have shown on multiple occasions that The Doctor is a force to be wreckened with, 9 and 12 show that side of the doctor but the impact of 10 and 11's serious side is just so felt)
1) 12 (I just love Capaldi, I like him as a duo with Clara more than 11, I like him with River more than 11, I love Bill) 2) 10 (He has both my least favorite season and my favorite, it averages pretty high) 3) 9 (If he had more stories, he might be higher, but he started the show with a great season) 4) 13 (Her era was fine; I think the negative qualities get overstated. Her seasons were better than seasons 2 and 6 by a mile) 5) 11 (As I have gotten older, I find I like the Moffet era of the show less and less, though I still love Matt Smith) 6) 14 (just due to his short run, I almost considered grouping him with 10) I just recently started catching up after taking a break after 12 left the show, and I just got to 15's first season.
WOWW my exact thoughts!! Well except for David Tennant as the 14th doctor, I'd put him above Ncuti but I admit that's from bias and the sheer joy I got when I saw he was being paired with Catherine Tate again, they're absolutely my favourite duo. I'm literally gonna have to save this to send as a response whenever anyone asks for my ranking of the doctors
For me it's: 1. 11th (such a joy to watch, doesn't feel weak or aggressive, just fun, heroic, silly, flamboyant, wide emotional range) 2. 12th (love how you can feel so bad for him at times and other times feel so angry with him, very fun to bring in some pop culture with sonic sunglasses and an electrical guitar and Nardole later on) 3. 10th (I haven't watched much of him and I grew up with the 11th doctor so I am biased, he's alright, nothing bad to say) 4. 13th (god awful writing, lazy casting, terrible choice of actress for the role, she is lovely but it isn't a good fit, find a doctor who fan actress) Sometimes I look at the strengths and weaknesses of the doctor, and I have come to a conclusion: 11th doctor's strength is his love and trust in his friends and his wide range of knowledge. His weakness is that he can't punish the people who have hurt him, (river "kills" him but he continues to save her, happens a lot with side characters too) his curiosity can also be a weakness at unfitting times. (this is actually fun to watch) 12th doctor's strength is compassion, wise but impuslive (knows things and has patience and a plan but only after a situation has started) can be a weakness too. He is also very heavily affected by the emotions of his companion. He literally spends billions of years to get back to reality just to save Clara. And he will do anything to keep Bill safe and happy (literally becomes blind and almost dies just so Bill is safe) , doesn't speak for her, lets her figure her own stuff out even if he knows better. 13th doctor's strengths... Yeah I gotta be honest, i haven't really found any strengths in her after watching the first season. She is very aggressive at times and it can feel out of place or like a tantrum, like in the medical ship. She jumps into things alone which is stupid and not fun to watch, and when she does rely on her team they just end up running around the place confused and without thinking or even considering there's a danger. Really confusing character, she seems very smart about building things but it feels forced. She never really knows what's happening or where to go or how, and it feels like you're always screaming at the screen telling her what to do or not do, like she never listens. A broken record just doing the same lesson over and over again. Predictable or way too confusing, never the right match. I haven't seen the 15th doctor but from the trailer it looks promising! I will give it a watch after watching the 14th. I'm trying to get through the 13th but Its really not enjoyable, I keep just going back to the 11th doctor and rewatching those episodes instead.
Gonna do myself one of these. 7) 13. Great actress, but Chris Chibnall just flanderizes EVERYONE. I learned this quickly after watching his first and only episode for Life On Mars, where he had RAY CARLING of all people disobey Gene and kill a man. 6) 14. Love David Tennant, but giving him 3 new episodes with an arc about how he needs to settle down and stop running around all over the universe before giving him a Magic Adventure Box For Running Around The Universe was stupid. 5) 12. Controversial but he just doesn't... hit for me. I see why people love him, sure, but I just don't feel too strongly. Great Doctor. Fantastic Doctor, but I just feel like the shift between him and 11 was... Clunky? It was all smooth running until the call from the past, and now I'm never gonna see him as "11 but old" 4) 15. Fun guy! Perfect to start a "new" DW run in! Not really much else to say! Vibrator sonic takes away a few points, sure, but genuinely very fun, cool guy! 3) 10. One of my personal favourites. He would've been at number one if I didn't already have someone else in mind for that, but he's THE Doctor for the 2005-2010 run. Funny, charismatic, but that's also clearly a mask to hide the pain of the Time War. Brilliant range of emotion/ 2) 9. I'm absolutely biased because he was my first Doctor, but I distinctly remember watching "Rose" and getting ACTUAL chills during the whole London Eye sequence. In a word, "Fantastic." Absolutely fantastic. 1) Process of elimination. It's... 11. Naturally. Matt Smith is MY Doctor. The madman in a box. The raggedy man. So much charm, so much expression. Never gonna be able to listen to him say "Come along, Pond!" without groaning in emotional agony. Granted, he did absolutely spit on 12's regeneration with that STUPID phone call to Clara, but I'm never gonna stop loving that guy.
mine is probably 11,9,13,10,15,14, Its kind of ironic that 10th is so low because Martha is my favourite companion, theres just something with Matt Smith portrayal and the 9th doctors bad wolf storyline
A list of doctors isn’t a proper list if you only count from Eckleson forward (though I get that those episodes are more accessible and I’m not going to attempt a complete list myself). In the modern incarnations, I often had trouble adjusting to the new doctor (with the exceptions of DT and TWD). However, they all grew on me over time. There was a relationship that developed or revealed a masked trait in the new doctor or the doctor faced a nearly impossible situation with the right combination of cheek and faith in humanity/friends to win me over. Admittedly, sometimes that meant letting the series run while playing Baldur’s Gate 2 because it didn’t hold my attention well enough on its own, but I digress. Thanks for the list and sharing your perspective!
@@LucasGorz yes 🙌 I understand your point however I’ve only seen the 3rd, 4th and 7th doctors so it would be unfair to include all from my perspective 👌
My list of worst to best! 8 < I honestly forget he exist sometimes. 13 < Shocker~ 1 < While he was good, he came off as aloof and self important. 9 < Leather? o. o A little to much leather. 2 < Was Okay 5 < Was acceptable. 7 < Was okay. 6 < Was good. 3
I thought I would never like Matt Smith's Doctor too much because I really loved Tennant's, but in the end I loved 11th too. They are my 2 favourite modern Doctors by far (I also like Capaldi's very much).
Never really thought about this before probably something like: 12 - capaldi has everything the doctor needs 11 - a lot of childhood nostaglia for this one 15 - one of the most unique takes we've had on the doctor 14 - a matured 10 10 - an immature 14 9 - great actor, very subtle characterisation for only one season though 13 - doesn't even really feel like the doctor, she just has 11s quirk but nothing under the surface
For me it’d be 12,10,9,14,11,15 (purely due to lack of time seeing him but I think he’s great he needs to stop crying though) then 13 is just a absolute shambles
I've seen Matt on stage and I honestly think he's the best actor working today. He was my favourite Doctor, but I think David got the better stories, particularly in Seasons 3 & 4. Have never managed to see David in the flesh as he's so immensely popular but that will be remedied in December when I see Macbeth. He's number 2. Chris would be #3 - it would have been great to have seen more of him. (Saw him in A Christmas Carol last, er, Christmas.) Never fully warmed to Peter and I thought some of his stories were awful. But he is #4. (Saw him on stage too, with Zoe Wanamaker.) Never warmed to Jodie at all. Terrible performance, dreadful scripts, a gang of drama school dropouts and a wasted Bradley Walsh. I counted up a little while ago and there are 17 Jodie episode I have never seen, because I abandoned a show that I've watched since 1964 after the travesty of Orphan 55. (I did watch the Tesla one because I was interested in Tesla, but it was beyond bad.) But Jodie is #5 because Ncuti Gatwa's eight episodes were so terrible, with a central performance of such mind-numbing ineptitude, that I am seriously debating stopping again. The one with the Beatles is quite possibly the worst 45 minutes of TV i have ever seen. I was so glad when it was announced that RTD was coming back, but in the intervening years he has clearly been kidnapped and replaced by a talentless imbecile. Maybe a Slitheen. And the worst thing of all is . . . You may have gathered that I like to go to the theatre and see famous actors in person. They're usually very good, because they wouldn't be picked for Doctor Who if they weren't. But I turned down the chance to see Jodie this autumn, have zero interest in her. Thing is though, that before I saw him anywhere, I bought a ticket to see Ncuti in The Importance of Being Earnest at the National Theatre over Christmas. He might surprise me, I hope he does. [I've also seen Arthur Darville three times, Jenna Coleman twice, Alex Kingston, Derek Jacobi, Sophie Okenedo and David Morrisey. Plus, roll drums, Colin Morgan and Lesley Sharp from this most excellent 'Midnight'.]
Hotter take but I'd put the 14th at the bottom because he drags down 10's era. I was never a fan of 10 comparing regeneration to dying because it felt slashing the tires of his successor. Almost saying that the next guy isn't The Doctor when the appeal is that The Doctor is the same man with a different face. And his meltdown he has in front of Wilfred before he decides to save him. There's a line in Power of the Doctor where the 6th tells 13th that she can't ruin it for the next Doctor and despite my dislike for that era that line has stuck with me. 14th's first episode backtracked the bittersweet ending for Donna's story and made another David Tennant clone only this time he's a perfect copy that can also regenerate and has his own TARDIS. I feel it's unfair for Ncuti because people are always gonna be asking what Tennant's Doctor is up to when he isn't the star anymore. If he simply regenerated as usual and embraced the change unlike 10 I would rate him higher. There's also the issue that he doesn't try to differentiate the performance between 10 and 14 but that's a nitpick. 9, 11, 12, 10, 15, 13, 14
1st - either 9 or 12 , and I will hound anyone who says I can't waver between 2 2 - either the 12 or 9 , depending on the mood above 3 - 11 , he had the toughest act to follow after 10 and came out as a brilliant Doctor 4 - Jo Martin , yeah I'm allowed so she goes in here. Awesome one-off who really shone with the short time she had. 5 - 10 , the more I look back at his the less I like. Almost a cliché of a performance that lacked enough mystery, just had more face-pulling. 6 - John Hurt, it was a kinda meh doctor. I didn't think the story needed it. 7 - 13th or 15th I value both people as actors, but ye gods its the writing that's letting them down 8 - [blank] I refuse to put one in last position as all are clearly trying, and as in my 7th, not all the limitations are their fault. 9 - [blank] another blank spot for no reason other than just pointlessly emphasizing my remark about no one being last. Sue me! 10 - My own personal doctor. The rash keeps coming back and that cream just seems to make it worse. Anyway, for anyone who has read this far down my particular comment, I thank you but, rather like me , you probably should have found something more rewarding to do with your time! Have a great day all.🙂
Well...I completely get that you don't click with 11. I have Doctors I just don't click with, too, but if I had to make my own personal ranking....We start off the same with 13, and then 14. I would have to put 15 next, because I definitely did not click with Gatwa as a Doctor. I haven't seen him in anything else, but he just fell flat for me as the doctor. After those 3 there is a huge gap before we continue with 12. I liked him, I really did, but of all the doctors until his time, his tenure had the most little things that bothered me, so he does sadly not share the joint first place of the remaining doctors. I would put him kinda at the same place as the War Doctor, though. And on First place without any specific order because all three of them have very special places in my heart in their own way we have Smith, Tennant and Eccleston. Everyone has their Doctor and own opinions regarding rankings and that is okay. It would be boring if everyone had the same favorites. Where would you place the War Doctor?
You have some very good points, I love the war doctor, I just felt like because we only saw 50 minutes of him, it just seemed unfair to rank, but I’d probably tie him with capaldi, or if I had to, just put him under capaldi, I loved war doctor but it’s hard to beat 12, 9 & 10 for me aha 😂
my problem with 11 is that, he has amazing traits that can make him a great character. he shows so many signs of what 10 went through with that whole "Time Lord Victorious" I mean, true, 10 shut that down and decided to die good, but in many places we can notice that all those traits has been magnified in 11. but instead of making a good story out of it, a good nice drama and a chance for development, the show runner instead glorifies those traits, making him more unlikable for me and there comes the part where he's so sexualised. that's the irredeemable part for me
My list from top to bottom: 11 12 9 10 13 14 And then bc we haven’t seen all of 15 I won’t put him on here but if I had to pick I would have him between 10 and 13 for now
I don't like Ncuti's Doctor because he's too passive and emotional, and all of the time he spent crying should've been used to fix things. The Doctor doesn't cry when there are things to do and lives at stake. Also, Ncuti's Doctor has only saved the day _twice_ in his first series (those being the Christmas special and series finale), and has had to wait for _other_ people to do it for him; even _Jodie's_ Doctor was more useful than him.
I see your point but every doctor incarnation is different and I really like ncuti showing a doctor who is more in touch with his emotions, I do think the more he cries, the less impactful it is but it’s just the traits of his doctor.
@@CybusIndustriesEmployee The issue mainly stems from the fact that he stands and does nothing _but_ cry; it affects his ability to save people, and he's done nothing to rectify this flaw.
I am sorry but not sorry, Ncuti Gatwa is worse than Jodie Whitaker in a lot of ways. The writing for his series is horrible, with quite literally no explanations given for anything besides, oh it just happens. He is too overtly sexual in his performance and The Doctor is not supposed to be sexual. He doesn't care about his companion Ruby because during the entirety of the episode Rouge, he is trying to get with a random bounty hunter, by being super sexual, and is not there to help Ruby when she is in peril. He cries in every scene he is in. The Doctor crying used to be an actual moment, see when Matt Smith's doctor cries for Amy and Rory, now its played as just a quirky thing. For his writing, it is so bad. Only like 2 good episodes of his run and he also got the worst ratings of any season multiple times, including the one that originally got Doctor Who canceled. My personal ranking 11 (From his first episode, he portrays the seriousness, the comical, and the downright zany aspects all perfectly. His theme, I Am The Doctor, is one of the best songs in the entire series. Amy and Rory are wonderful. He just is The Doctor to me. 12 (My personal favorite. He plays The Doctor so well. He has the best relationship with a companion since Rose and 10, this being Clara. One of the best episodes, Heaven Sent, and just overall phenomenal acting) 10 (Almost the pinnacle of Doctor Who, but alas has some really bad moments. I think he honestly could have been #2 but he also flip flops too much in performance. Sometimes he's the best and sometimes he's near the bottom. ) 9 (I really like him, but he just needed more time to work. I think if he got a second season, he could have been top 2) 14 (Semi-good but had a lot of flaws. He didn't have the same spark as 10 did. Maybe if we got more it would have been better, but I also didn't like the writing of his episodes) 13 (Could have been good but the writing suffered horribly. Will also say her season almost ruined Doctor Who with the retcon about The Doctor but that isn't her fault.) 15 (see given)
The doctor isn’t supposed to be anything, all his incarnations are different personalities. The overuse of crying I agree with, but I don’t think he is in any way close to Jodie, but opinions are different 👌
My doctors ranked out of the few I have seen 1. Matt Smith (11) 2. Peter Capaldi (12) 3. David Tennant (10) 4. Ncuti Gatwa (15) 5. William Hartnell (1) 6. Jodie Whittaker (13) 7. Christopher Eccleston (9) 8. David Tennant (14) 9. John Hurt (War Doctor) 10. Jo Martin (Fugitive Doctor)
You said matt smith was not a good doctor bro the eleventh was the only one that could possibly come after 10. The playful doctor that came when the doctor was getting to dark and he needed a new perspective at life
I really get this list. I grew watching Cristopher's and Tennant's eras back in the early 2010's (and sometime before) and I was always updated on Doctor Who. I remember when Matt Smith was firstly coming to the screen and he was like "the new fever of the moment" and perhaps he went well along most people, but, I also couldn't really get into him that much. I've watched all the new series and more than twice to say he's my least preferable Doctor. He did get into the character but I think his writting has left us with a big gap. While he recorded 3 series as also did Tennant but Matt doing it in less time, the fact that he was almost always the same until the end of his era and only had always the same 2 companions, often times River (which was always amazing to have her in an episode) and, later on, Clara in series 7 halfway (which I actually liked his time with Clara, even though it was very short), it lacked quite some variety to it. Cristopher had Rose to stick with for the entirety of series 1 and quite a present family, by giving us contact to her mom and her father's history and Mickey also being present, plus they felt real in the way they interacted and their view on the Doctor so far. We had her present with her family during Tennant's era and, additionally, what makes series 2 so cool is the fact that we get what some of us always expected from the Doctor Who: a very cool companion (she was brave sometimes as well) and a screen catching, cool personality and good looking Doctor traveling together doing random stuff around everywhere and trying new things. Even when she had fallen into the parallel universe she was still there, trying to make contact and showed up in series 4, which leaves us with all series from 1 to 4 with her present (although 3 was much less) and she being a companion that interacted directly with the Doctor after a regeneration. Thus, not to mention Tennant's countless companions and amount of people who got into his TARDIS and even helped control it. 11th just solved things in a way that was mostly abstract and involving emotions as the supreme power, usually love against the monsters, but he also had a very extreme and uncontrolled temper at times. I do like some episodes tho and can get through watching him again, though I believe he's too overrated. When Peter Capaldi was debuted as the Doctor and I heard the new intro, saw the new theme and watched some of series 8 (while they were still filming everything over the years) I just hated it. Also, an older Doctor would mean a less agile and slug like Doctor again, right? Nope, I watched him now, everything and more than once. He was absolutely screen catching.. from series 8 horrible drama and Clara mistreating him for no reason other than her egocentrism and Danny simply existing, Peter Capaldi as the Doctor was still the best we could get in an entire episode. After series 8 everything was just going good to better. Clara good better, no more useless drama like before and he was being more natural and his hair grew as well. Some scenes of Peter Capaldi are just enough to give chills with 1 second of frame and the soundtrack they made for him was wonderfully amazing and spectacular. You can see that he's a growing Doctor, not the guy to who gets intrigued with anything or live with the pains of his past except when he's dying, but he's the Doctor, he's the most real and true human being you'd ever encounter in that universe. His speeches, personality, splendid acting, face, sarcastic humor, his so feared eyebrows and amazing writing at his 2 last series and even some series 8 episodes just make him legitimately THE DOCTOR! He looks like the Doctor, he spreads safety, not fear unlike 11; he wisely raises his voice and he can get in touch with anybody and gets things running. He's also one of the smartest Doctors but even when he doesn't knows anything or how to solve it he still goes on and tried his best. The fact he chose that face shows that he did well in listening to Donna to at least save one life. He is my Doctor.
@@EduardoLanzilotiMeh, I find the Tenth Doctor era so soap opera. Frankly I always found it odd the way everyone interacts with the Tenth Doctor, no one sees him as an alien but as a love interest (or in Donna's case, a skinny friend). At least the Ponds look surprised to see him. I also don't like Tennant getting stuck in his depressing, "oh Rose" "Oh, I miss Rose" phase, I didn't see much development in him. Unlike the Eleventh Doctor who really changed between seasons.
@@mayotango1317 I get wym, Tennant era really has that vibe. Anyway, each Doctor era will bring something that will please some watchers more than others. For me, the way other Doctors solves the problems and the different number of companions really matters a lot.
Best: 12, 11, 4, 2, 8, 7, 6, 10, 13, 9, 1, 5, 14, 3, 15 15 just hasn't clicked for me - I think half of that is the script, apart from Boom he gotten given very little material I could see any Doctor pulling off. 6 and 8 are higher than they might have been because of their audio redemption. And 11 so close to the bottom? For shame!
@@CybusIndustriesEmployee I can only respond with what I have seen her do... and she was not good in anything. Please note, that by describing her as "not good" I am being kind about her performances.
My favourite doctors are Tenant, Smith, Capaldi, and I'm warming up to Ncuti... anything is better after Jody Whitaker's dreadful performance and and horrid writing. Never cared for Eckleston's rendition of the Doctor, the darkness of his character and the writing..
@@CybusIndustriesEmployee He's okay.. he had a purpose as a kinda bridge.. but.. He's a really good actor, but his his parts and acting were more serious and angry and dramatic action type.
Well this makes sense. Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor is portrayed as darker and more angry because he has recently emerged from the Time War, a catastrophic conflict that led to the destruction of Gallifrey and the death of his people. This trauma has deeply affected him, resulting in a sense of guilt and anger. He struggles with the consequences of his actions during the war and the immense loss he has experienced, which adds a more complex and conflicted dimension to his character compared to previous iterations of the Doctor.
@@ursaltydog Fair enough. I get it. After re-visiting DW a few years back I have some problems with this iteration now too, and some of the writing. However I do like him, and a lot of the writing; although I am probably also caught up in the general nostalgia of that part of my life.

Definitely don’t agree with Matt smith his era helped male Doctor Who popular in America he also wasn’t a fan before being the did it hasn’t seen a episode before he was cast but he wa great as The Doctor
Complete trash list and opinion totally disregarded. Likely, you put Matt Smith so low to generate controversy and 'engagement' but all you ended up doing was making a bad video.
@@arandombard1197 believe it or not, everybody thinks differently, I don’t like Matt smith as a doctor, that’s an opinion I’ve stood by for years, you obviously disagree and that’s fine 👌
Hopefully with the big finish doing the 13th doctor adventures, Jodie can hopefully be a bit more doctor like in the audio series and 12 arc is kinda what colin baker wanted to do with the 6th doctor during his tv run if I remember correctly

He was so endearing and caring. I miss him.
My list of NuWho doctors worst to best:
7. 13 (obvious reasons)
6. 14 (amazing but only had 3 episodes so naturally low on the list)
5. 15 (been really good so far, but we've only seen 1 season so far)
4. 9 (he had one season and it was amazing. I might be bias because Rose is my favourite companion ever)
3. 12 (had an absolutely amazing performance, he could be funny, sad, dark, happy but it was always just so great)
2. 10 (obvious reasons)
1. 11 (his child-like personality and quirkiness was so unique and he will probably always be my favourite)
Great list 👌
You say 9's only season was amazing. I would argue it was FANTASTIC ;P

13 (Obvious)
15 (haven't watched but can't be worse then 13)
14 (Love tennent but not this as much)
9 (same reason)
11 (Loved it)
10 (Loved it more)
12 (Larger than love)
@@zzirSupeR Honestly, it ain’t a hot take. It’s a pretty good list that I can agree with 👍
@@zzirSupeR good list ngl. Ten will always be my favorite tho but yeah I mostly agree
@@Nekrist._. very good points made here 👌
I couldn't share a more precise opinion.
Worst to best: Whitaker, Ncuti, Tennant, Eccleston, Smith, Capaldi
Score for each: Whitaker 3/10, Ncuti 4.5/10, Tennant 5.5/10, Eccleston 8.5/10, Smith 9/10 Capaldi 10/10
Capaldi - a Doctor for adults
Smith - a Doctor for all the great reasons explain by Nekrist. Smith could pull it all off convincingly
Eccleston - gravitas and powerfully emotive, retro cool
Tennant - the populist Doctor but annoyingly smug and OTT often
Ncuti - okay but he does not feel like the Dotor to me
Whitaker - a caricature that even failed at that level.

My Rankings:
1. Twelve (Capaldi is god, Series 8-10 are all superb)
2. Eleven (I love him and the ponds, and Moffat cooked with Series 5)
3. Ten (Series 2 was mid but as you get to the end of his run, from the latter half of Series 3 it just gets phenomenal, leading to Waters of Mars which is my second favourite Doctor Who episode ever, behind only Heaven Sent)
4. Nine (Wish we could've seen more)
5. Thirteen (She was a great Doctor but Chibs and his writing let her down)
6. Fifteen (When given good material (aka Boom) Ncuti shines, but most of his episodes so far have been really mid and we haven't seen much of him yet)
7. Fourteen (As much as I loved Tennant, I really didn't like the idea of a newer doctor being an older doctor)
My list from top to bottom: 11,12,10,9,14,13. For 15 it is to early to rank
That is a very good list 👌
based 🔥🔥🔥 I agree fifteen has not had nearly enough screentime yet, I can definitely say that it will be near the top, I personally thought the latest season was great.

@@momzrusso1 🙏
My list of Nuwho Doctors from best to worst is ⬇️ (I won’t be ranking 15 yet until his era is over, because I don’t want to incorrectly judge him before he’s done)
1. Eleven - I grew up watching his era and I love his personality, companions (I was named after Rory lol), and his storylines the most out of all the doctors- he may not be everybody’s cup of tea but he sure is mine.
2. Ten - Ten is very close to Eleven in terms of my ranking, he has a great personality, character arcs, and I absolutely love the Doctor and Donna as a pairing
5. Fourteen - Although fourteen was only present for the 60th anniversary special (that’s why I won’t rank him high) I still love him because I love ten and David Tennant in general, and he’s basically just ten in a different suit 💀
6. (and that’s coming from someone who loves amy and rory, and rose and mickey)
One thing I hate though is that people use her era as an excuse to be sexist, 13 being bad has nothing to do with her gender, it has everything to do with the horrendous writing (Thanks Chris Chibnall! 🙄)
Anyways that’s my list 🤷🏼♂️
My faves from best to worst are 9, 12, 10, 11. The others don't count because Chinball's timeless child changed who the Doctor was and ruined the show for me.

100%
WOWW my exact thoughts!! Well except for David Tennant as the 14th doctor, I'd put him above Ncuti but I admit that's from bias and the sheer joy I got when I saw he was being paired with Catherine Tate again, they're absolutely my favourite duo. I'm literally gonna have to save this to send as a response whenever anyone asks for my ranking of the doctors
@@nick.bummer aha, I thought I’d be getting more hate for putting Matt smith low down
I think Matt Smith always gave me the impression, not of Matt Smith playing The Doctor, but Matt Smith playing David Tennant playing The Doctor.
For me it's:
1. 11th (such a joy to watch, doesn't feel weak or aggressive, just fun, heroic, silly, flamboyant, wide emotional range)
2. 12th (love how you can feel so bad for him at times and other times feel so angry with him, very fun to bring in some pop culture with sonic sunglasses and an electrical guitar and Nardole later on)
3. 10th (I haven't watched much of him and I grew up with the 11th doctor so I am biased, he's alright, nothing bad to say)
4. 13th (god awful writing, lazy casting, terrible choice of actress for the role, she is lovely but it isn't a good fit, find a doctor who fan actress)
Sometimes I look at the strengths and weaknesses of the doctor, and I have come to a conclusion:
11th doctor's strength is his love and trust in his friends and his wide range of knowledge. His weakness is that he can't punish the people who have hurt him, (river "kills" him but he continues to save her, happens a lot with side characters too) his curiosity can also be a weakness at unfitting times. (this is actually fun to watch)
12th doctor's strength is compassion, wise but impuslive (knows things and has patience and a plan but only after a situation has started) can be a weakness too.
Clunky? It was all smooth running until the call from the past, and now I'm never gonna see him as "11 but old"
Brilliant range of emotion/
Good picks 👌
mine is probably 11,9,13,10,15,14, Its kind of ironic that 10th is so low because Martha is my favourite companion, theres just something with Matt Smith portrayal and the 9th doctors bad wolf storyline
where's 12 in your ranking? Cheers

Very good list
I’ve seen a few clips of Matt and David and feel like both of them are great
11th Doctor is great imo. One of my favorites
Never really thought about this before probably something like:
12 - capaldi has everything the doctor needs
11 - a lot of childhood nostaglia for this one
15 - one of the most unique takes we've had on the doctor
14 - a matured 10
10 - an immature 14
9 - great actor, very subtle characterisation for only one season though
13 - doesn't even really feel like the doctor, she just has 11s quirk but nothing under the surface
You have gone deeeep, but you are making a lot of sense...
For me it’d be 12,10,9,14,11,15 (purely due to lack of time seeing him but I think he’s great he needs to stop crying though) then 13 is just a absolute shambles
I like your ideas
I've seen Matt on stage and I honestly think he's the best actor working today. He was my favourite Doctor, but I think David got the better stories, particularly in Seasons 3 & 4. Have never managed to see David in the flesh as he's so immensely popular but that will be remedied in December when I see Macbeth. He's number 2.
Chris would be #3 - it would have been great to have seen more of him. (Saw him in A Christmas Carol last, er, Christmas.)
Never fully warmed to Peter and I thought some of his stories were awful. But he is #4. (Saw him on stage too, with Zoe Wanamaker.)
Never warmed to Jodie at all. Terrible performance, dreadful scripts, a gang of drama school dropouts and a wasted Bradley Walsh. I counted up a little while ago and there are 17 Jodie episode I have never seen, because I abandoned a show that I've watched since 1964 after the travesty of Orphan 55. (I did watch the Tesla one because I was interested in Tesla, but it was beyond bad.)
But Jodie is #5 because Ncuti Gatwa's eight episodes were so terrible, with a central performance of such mind-numbing ineptitude, that I am seriously debating stopping again.
You have a very eventful life in terms of doctor who 😆
Hotter take but I'd put the 14th at the bottom because he drags down 10's era.
Yes I Love series 2 and I think it’s my favourite season as well.
1st - either 9 or 12 , and I will hound anyone who says I can't waver between 2
2 - either the 12 or 9 , depending on the mood above
3 - 11 , he had the toughest act to follow after 10 and came out as a brilliant Doctor
4 - Jo Martin , yeah I'm allowed so she goes in here.
7 - 13th or 15th I value both people as actors, but ye gods its the writing that's letting them down
8 - [blank] I refuse to put one in last position as all are clearly trying, and as in my 7th, not all the limitations are their fault.
Have a great day all.🙂
I don’t want to go 😢
My god, you lost me at Ncuti over Matt Smith. Sacrilege!
I’ve never vibed with Smith 🤷♂️ 😂
Heresy
You have some very good points, I love the war doctor, I just felt like because we only saw 50 minutes of him, it just seemed unfair to rank, but I’d probably tie him with capaldi, or if I had to, just put him under capaldi, I loved war doctor but it’s hard to beat 12, 9 & 10 for me aha 😂
my problem with 11 is that, he has amazing traits that can make him a great character. he shows so many signs of what 10 went through with that whole "Time Lord Victorious" I mean, true, 10 shut that down and decided to die good, but in many places we can notice that all those traits has been magnified in 11. but instead of making a good story out of it, a good nice drama and a chance for development, the show runner instead glorifies those traits, making him more unlikable for me and there comes the part where he's so sexualised. that's the irredeemable part for me
@@altinaykor364 I feel you 100% still have no clue what moffat thinking with the whole claras skirt incident 😂
My list from top to bottom:
11
12
9
10
13
14
And then bc we haven’t seen all of 15 I won’t put him on here but if I had to pick I would have him between 10 and 13 for now
Verryyyy solid list 👌
@@Jackson-ub1uv U are right on that one
Here’s my list 9, 14, 10, 13, 15 and 11 and 12 share the top spot.
Best to worst for me 12, 10/14, 9, 15, 13, 11
Great list
My personal ranking
11 (From his first episode, he portrays the seriousness, the comical, and the downright zany aspects all perfectly. His theme, I Am The Doctor, is one of the best songs in the entire series. Amy and Rory are wonderful. He just is The Doctor to me.
12 (My personal favorite. He plays The Doctor so well. He has the best relationship with a companion since Rose and 10, this being Clara. One of the best episodes, Heaven Sent, and just overall phenomenal acting)
10 (Almost the pinnacle of Doctor Who, but alas has some really bad moments. I think he honestly could have been #2 but he also flip flops too much in performance. Sometimes he's the best and sometimes he's near the bottom. )
9 (I really like him, but he just needed more time to work. I think if he got a second season, he could have been top 2)
14 (Semi-good but had a lot of flaws. He didn't have the same spark as 10 did. Maybe if we got more it would have been better, but I also didn't like the writing of his episodes)
13 (Could have been good but the writing suffered horribly. Will also say her season almost ruined Doctor Who with the retcon about The Doctor but that isn't her fault.)
15 (see given)
The doctor isn’t supposed to be anything, all his incarnations are different personalities. The overuse of crying I agree with, but I don’t think he is in any way close to Jodie, but opinions are different 👌
My doctors ranked out of the few I have seen
1. Matt Smith (11)
2. Peter Capaldi (12)
3. David Tennant (10)
4. Ncuti Gatwa (15)

8. David Tennant (14)
9. John Hurt (War Doctor)
10. Jo Martin (Fugitive Doctor)

Matt Smith all the way love him
You said matt smith was not a good doctor bro the eleventh was the only one that could possibly come after 10. The playful doctor that came when the doctor was getting to dark and he needed a new perspective at life
Christopher Ecclestone and David Tennant were the best two by far.
I agree with every word you said 😂 Capaldi is a gem as the doctor and I will make a full video on him very soon, lovely guy in person too 👌
He really gives that feeling

Exactly
My favourite doctors are Tenant, Smith, Capaldi, and I'm warming up to Ncuti... anything is better after Jody Whitaker's dreadful performance and and horrid writing. Never cared for Eckleston's rendition of the Doctor, the darkness of his character and the writing..
I’d give Eccleston another go if I were you 👌
@@CybusIndustriesEmployee He's okay.. he had a purpose as a kinda bridge..
@@jamesbaxter3444 That's fine. I just didn't really care for his acting or the scripts..
