My name is Eric and I travel with my cats, “Tara” & “Opie” in a 24ft 2002 Ford Bigfoot Class C and tow either a 2014 lifted Smart Car named “Tater Tot” or my 2012 Harley Softail Slim named “Black Betty” in a 6x10 trailer. We travel about 35 miles a day chasing 70 degrees year-round since 2010.

You will not need treated wood for your jacks.
They will dry out just fine between uses. Mike
If anything, just paint them......But I agree, they wouldn't be west for long periods of time to cause a problem.
Eric, I used those plastic ramps a long time. The secret to it is to always place a sheet of plywood under them so they don't can handle the load without splitting or cracking. Worked for me, anyway. Enjoy Texas !

Welcome to Proctor! You’re in my neck of the woods. 😊 Proctor Lake is extremely low right now. There is a Dam and the lake is the water source for multiple towns around.

It's amazing. For years California was dry. Now all of their lakes and rivers are full and Texas is seeing draught. It doesn't make any sense. I love your travel style. I can't wait to see where you go next. 🙂

I do chicken legs in my air fryer and at the last coat them with sweet Thai chili sauce.
Maybe the private campgrounds don't want homemade campers made out of cargo trailers.

We always used a 3/4" stall mat (tractor supply) for leveling. 4x6. Cut into sizes needed. around $50. Lasts forever.
I also buy those drumsticks, but don't throw them on the ground.😂 I cook the entire package on my Smokey Joe Weber charcoal grill and save what I don't eat for later. That way I can grab something when I get hungry without waiting for them to cook. I literally LOL when u tossed it.

Hey Erick if You are going to be in the southwest Va. area there is a place that You owe it to yourself to see, The Breaks Interstate park also known as the grand canyon of the south. It is on the Va. - Ky. border and is one of the most beautiful places on the eastern end of the USA!
If You end up in the Breaks or anywhere in the area let Me know and We can meet up. This is just 2.5 hrs. from Bristol raceway. Where I live is just 1.5 hrs. from the track.

Since you’re heading to the northeast, go to Ticonderoga NY. Besides the historical fort there’s also the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour. James Cawley the man responsible for the venue built the Desilu sets from the original series. Actors like Bill Shatner, Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols, George Takei and many more have been there for special events. I’ve been there three times already and enjoy it every time. He’s expanding it to also include The Next Generation sets. 🖖🏼

They use them in the film industry for the trucks. They call them 2/4/6's...they use them for the technical trucks that carry all the heavy equipment. They last forever. I use them for my 5th wheel and have had them for over 15 years. Good going, finally getting rid of the little plastic shi**

I grew up camping in the 70’s in a pop up and our neighbor taught my dad how to make the wood leveling blocks… never had issues. We use the square plastic ones now and so far they are great. I can’t believe the water at that lake receded that much 😢

Mount a good heavy grab handle on the edge of the bottom tier 2x positioned center of the second tier for balance and snatch em up with one hand and set em in the storage bay.
Hi Eric, nice video. Haven't tried it - but wonder if filling the gaps under the plastic ramps with spray on high density foam insulation would make them last longer - of course you'd have to trim the foam until it was flush with the ramps - and THEN put wood planks under them. Worth a try.

We live fulltime about 2 hours south east of Proctor Lake. Heavy rain here today.
I'm spoiled. I live on Lake Michigan (yes, it's cold) and the water is clear and nice. I can't imagine swimming in a dirty reservoir. It's not for me.
These nomads have no clue how beautiful and welcoming Lake Michigan and Lake Superior are. Transplant me to Sturgeon bay and I will stay all summer.

I am a retired firefighter. We call that step cribbing. It is a great idea for your use. We used it for stabilizing cars when we had to extricate people trapped in cars. We would use them under the car frame.

We camped at Sowell Creek/Procter Lake in October 2022. Lots of water that was floating the docks at that point. Was disappointed that the old Dr Pepper bottling plant in Dublin was closed.
