This looks like the area in and around the Lake of the Clouds west of Ontonagon, specIfically it really looks like the Black River and Presque Isle River area with those waterfalls and elevation. It's so pretty in the most western part of the U.P. but sorry you really barely missed the fall colors starting to pop up there. The fall colors all around the U.P. are so beautiful.
I can’t thank you enough for taking me to places I can’t physically go myself. Thank you for the hikes and sharing Barkley with us. The sunsets were stunning as well as the great water views. Thank you for another great video. Loved this one. Well, I haven’t watched a video of your’s that I didn’t like! Take care and safe travels! Your virtual friend from Missouri!
Love your travels. It would be nice if you would talk more about where you are traveling to. I'm from Michigan and believe it is one of the greatest states for traveling & camping. Safe travels and will continue to follow along with both of you! Best Wishes!
It’s really cool to watch y’all learn. Appreciate you being willing to be vulnerable because we all have a lot to learn no matter how much we think we know.
I prefer skipping jump rope since those skipping rocks hurts my legs and foot every time I tried to jump out of the rocks way and skipping rocks is Soo heavy on my arms and swinging above my head hurts as well.
Kinda funny, my wife and I were just in Copper Harbor about 3 weeks ago. Haven’t been there in about 40 years. We live in lower Michigan and have a 20 ft travel trailer. I installed solar and more batteries and we boon dock about 50 % of the time. Having solar and a inverter , it’s just like being in a campgrounds , but way cheeper. We stayed in a Baraga for two nights and traveled the area . Then went to Marquette and on to Bay Mills casino. So it was a lot of fun to watch your video. The trailer we have , the other owner had upgraded to 2 30# propane tanks. I would advise doing that. Plus when you need propane, a lot of smaller towns do sell propane . I get mine filled at our local hardware. $9.80 for a 20# tank and I think mine were like $14.00 each. Plus you don’t fill them as often. Really enjoy your videos , and love your new cabin. I’ve been watching now for about 6 months. Keep up the good work, and be safe out there. 😁
If you have cell service, a phone call works better than two way radio, at least for the driver. Also using words that are not relative, which as driver and passenger instead of left and right will remove confusion. My wife and I agree that we are referencing the tail end of the camper and she tells me more driver or more passenger and I know she means to direct the tail of the trailer that way. Also go straight can be relative too so be clear if you mean “keep the trailer going the way it is” or strainer the truck wheels. Once you speak the same language, so to speak, it all becomes way easier.
I have been told in the past when refilling propane tanks when they charge by the pound you're actually getting more if you swap them out they can't fill them as much because of shipping regulations. So when you have them refilled they go by the pound you actually get more in your tanks.
Outstanding as usual you two and way to go with making up a checklist!!! Same thing me and my wife did was I did all outside and did the inside of camper. Stay safe out there and God Bless America!🇺🇸💪🇺🇸
Nice set up for sure with that trailer. Yes the truck might be slightly overkill, but hey it is a darn nice truck. Walkie talkies are super useful when backing up. We keep a couple with us all the time. I also have a couple of small orange cones in the truck. When we get out to inspect the campsite we are backing into I often toss them down at the back of the site to give me a point of reference. If I can keep one or the other in site in one of my mirrors then I reconfirm that I am on my desired line. In the mirror tree branches all look the same..... Also for the darn flies we use a thermacell. When we got it I was not expecting much, but they seem to do a great job and we do a lot of camping in "fly and mosquito country". continued safe travels....
I know this won’t catch you but Muldoon’s in Munising has the best pasties around (with gravy please lol) Love your adventure. I’m living vicariously through your trailer adventure. I’ve also heard of Fitzgerald’s too, good reports. Love that area! My Aunt was born and raised there and we have so many fond memories of traveling to Fort Wilkins.
Man, I need to learn your trick! How to snap my fingers and have groceries put away just like that!!! 😝 Yet another great “day in the life of..” video! 😊
Brockway Mountain is probably happening right now. We've stayed at the Fitz and have eaten there many times also. That area is a Great Fall destination. 🍂🍁
Use your cell phones on speaker instead of walkie talkies. Easy vid enjoyed your format. Beautiful couple i hope all is the same off camera as on. Both of you are blessed to afford and be able to enjoy that lifestyle with each other.❤
No cellphone service no signal it doesn't work I tried two times and it shutdown. I love to use cellphone and camera back and forth better than regular cheap walkie talkies even kids walkies a lot cheaper only goes as far as 100 feet away from trailer to truck campgrounds entrance way and no shut off and using regular walkie talkies required no cellphone service no signal no monthly payments plans .
Cellphone camera can record and be on live viewing the backup trailer and jacking up and leveling truck and trailer wheels up or down without saying a word even by yourself having 2 cellphone cameras on live-mode can be on tripod looking at whatever you want to see from the driver's side by yourself alone. I wished walkie talkies had a baby monitor to seeing what is going on if there's no cellphone service no signal.
Welcome to the U.P! Born and raised here. We are just south of Marquette. Perfect timing for your because Hwy 13 is a great route to see the fall colors. Tahquamenom Falls also is a MUST for you to see! Enjoy!
When we’re backing up, we have found that we use our phones and not walkie-talkies just because we already have them and so that saves us some money but walkie-talkies are handy to have specially whenever you have no cell reception just a little bit of advice. I think my husband and I have argued more when we’re backing up to camper then we have the entire time that we’ve been married. It can be quite stressful.
You are using Legos! Awesome. Second. Your trailer is set up for a weight distribution hitch (anti sway) it makes the world of difference. I tow a 30FT trailer and when the Semis pass you it helps out a lot. For propane fills I go to hardware store with propane and never exchange. Last time it was 26 bucks because only one needed propane. I don't want to give the companies free gas in the exchange system.
Our daughter graduated from Michigan Tech in Houghton. That area of the UP is beautiful. We camped there for a week for her graduation in McLain State park in Hancock (across the lift bridge from Hougthon), and had a beautiful view of Lake Superior. You should visit sometime in the winter, they can get upwards of 300 inches of snow, and it stays around until May. The Michigan Tech campus has snowmobile parking.
Awesome Lake Superior views!! We are Michiganders as well. It would be great if you would say what campground you are at the beginning of the video. Glad you are enjoying your trailer!!
Love watching your videos. I've lived in Michigan my whole life and love exploring the state, especially the U.P. My husband and I were just in the Western UP mid September and did the same trail you hiked. It was great seeing the two of you stop and enjoy some of the same waterfalls we saw too.
Just discovered your channel. Great content. I like to see day to day stuff more than the typical “highlight reel” that everyone else does. It feels more organic and natural.
Enjoy your videos! I have pretty much the same. trailer as yours except mine has the slide, MM 1808fbs. I Enjoy doing cheap and easy upgrades, it's a guy thing, so I just replaced the little bathroom fan with a max (type) fan. If you you have ever used your AC you know how loud it is, the big fan in the bathroom does a few appreciated things. 1, it moves alot of air 2, if you close the bathroom door with the fan on it's relatively quiet and when you're in bed with the window open you can feel the cool air pulling in through the windows 3, and the one I like the most, if you have the little corner shower ( if you know you know) the fan creates a vacuum in the bathroom effectively ballooning out the shower curtain making the shower bigger, and 4 you get out of that shower and it will air dry you like a wind tunnel! Who would have thunk it!
I am also a vote to keep the truck. You can tow light with a HD truck, but you can't tow heavy with a light duty truck. I know that is obvious, but if you change to a half ton, that may catch up to you one day. Also going to a 3/4 ton will not be a more comfortable ride than a 1 ton.
Nothing wrong with this video. It's normal everyday life for the rv world. You do a wonderful job and enjoy you 3. Barkley and Fritos make you ok in my book. Keep it up!!!
What kind of antenna do you have for the TV? You probably already know, but you need to check your connections to make sure they are tight and not broken. Antenna has to be fully extended.
@@johnadams7323I think bugs rather watching t.v. inside the trailer than bugs lanterns since it's pretty boring for bugs watching fire burning candles.
Have you thought about getting a inverter 2500 watts hooked up to truck engine 2nd batteries can recharge trailers 12 vt hooked up to regular hitching electric plug and trailer brakes plug 🔌.
To charge the trailers battery sorry I forgot to insert batteries to charge so now it's discharge sorry about that. No I wasn't discharged by military service. No I wasn't a military service member.
One of my first times with a travel trailer I went to a park that had an unusually narrow turn near my spot and I ended up getting too far over on the soft ground. A bit stuck and i got it out it on my own but the worst thing was a crowd gathered to watch/advise and being an introvert it was unbearable. lol I dont even know where they all came from, didnt seem like the park was that full but I swear it was like a concert venue out there. I was so close to just leaving even though I paid. In the end, they were all wonderful people and I dont regret that it happened.
I was wondering if you got rid of the mice problem in the camper? I enjoy watching your videos, I live in Glendale Arizona, I don't travel much anymore, so I really enjoy your camping sites, & your new home. 😊
What is the name of the campgrounds you’re staying at and what were the names of the waterfalls you walked by? You need to share that information with us
She can do 1 beep to shocked you to turning left trailer and 2 beeps to turning right and 3 beeps to backup trailer and 4 beeps to push forward and 5 .1 long beeps to making sure that you stop 🛑 .
And by the time the parking truck and trailer is okay it's time for the rechargeable husband to recharge the trailers battery using his own hands. Lolol 😂
Dont you have A/C and or a fan? I carry 2 small clip fans and have a rechargeable battery operated fan that helps a ton. It has been warm for this time of year. Do you even really watch TV much? We dont have one.. how do you handle internet while on the road? We tried one time to get in there at Fitzgeralds and they were PACKED! You lucked out. Eagle River is so cool!
I cannot recall a time in the UP, when the field mice were this invasive. It's kind of like the College University move-in day time. I've literally had to move on to plan C, as I am so badly outnumbered. PS , avoid parking near oak trees this time of year. Apparently, they are nature's Walmart.
We love watching your videos!! Congrats on the travel trailer 🎉 we love the U.P. Also. It would be wonderful if you listed the name of your campgrounds you visit. Also let us know where you hike or the waterfalls too. I think it would be a good way to get more traffic to your channel also. It’s really hard to get the reality of a photo that the website may show. Ya’ll would be really helpful and I think it may help bump up to more viewers. Have a great time in the U.P. 😎 be safe.

Hi love your videos, one suggestion I would give is fold your mirrors in when unhooked. It will be easier to park and won’t feel as wide

Seems as if I remember that you installed a DC-DC converter in your TRUCK that pulls your camper. Maybe charge the battery via that method.
Get a bed truck cover or a tonneau, your rig looks crazy!
We’re in the market for some sort of bed cover. Just not sure what route we want to go

While positioning your trailer, you don't need to carry extra walkie-talkie baggage...instead, use your cell phone.
We have used this before, but find we don’t always have cell service where we camp. Might be beneficial to have both!
Just out or curiosity, what do y'all do for a living?
Do you still have the house you bought
Cellphones work good to communicate while backing up if you have service.
Also, look into Anderson leveling blocks and a level mate pro. They make the setting up process quick and painless!

We do occasionally, but this stretch of trips we rarely both had cell service
Use your cell phones

Keep the truck, I wouldn't go to a 1500, the gas mileage isn't going to be much better especially towing a camper.
Suggestion: Instead of spending money on walkie talkies, why not just use your cell phones to communicate when setting up at a new location?
Sometimes remote areas don’t have cell service but we definitely use our cell phones on speaker when we can.
Using cellphone camera on live mode at where you go on tripod by yourself works great. I wished that walkie talkies had a baby monitor to backing up trailer and leveling up or down.
Kids walkies talkies for Halloween or shopping at malls wherever works great less than $20 dollars a pair.
