I’ll bet Sondra Lockhart felt pretty disgusted with Clint Eastwood when she found out he had two other children after he was so determined he didn’t want kids with her. I like him as an actor but his personal life was pretty bad.

Why would he want kids with her? She was married to someone else. And she would not divorce that man

You have a good point. We’re each responsible for our own decisions.
If she had wanted children she could have kept her baby. (I think she was pregnant twice.)
Some people are in positions where they are unable to make that choice….. looks like in her case she did freely make her choice.

In 1995, I worked as an extra on a made for tv movie, Death in Small Doses, in Charlotte NC, directed by Sondra Locke. Starring Richard Thomas. When it came time for lunch, she went through the chow line with the crew instead of having her food sent to her trailer. I thought that was pretty cool. I got the vibe that she was trying not not be a prima donna. Directing the movie, she was accompanied by an older gentleman. He would look through the camera. Then she would look through the camera, look at him, and when he nodded, she would give the OK sign. At one time, she stood next to me on set, and I was amazed at how small she was. That was my experience with Sondra Locke.

thats the cinematography guy. A good director will get his buy-in and okay before yelling action. This raises my opinion of her. Woody Allen and Coppola do the same thing - if the chief camera guy likes it, then proceed.

Read Sondra's excellent autobiography. She would never have had an acting career without her best friend and husband, Gordon. One reason she didn't want to divorce him is because he would lose his medical insurance he got being her spouse. Clint was foolish to be jealous of him. It's not like Sondra and Gordon ever had sex, unlike Clint with dozens of women, none of whom were as strong and smart as Sondra, which is probably why he loved her. When Clint dies we will learn how many kids he had when they come for the reading of his will! Clint smeared Sondra in the press and the industry. When people met her they were amazed at what a kind, intelligent, down to earth woman she was. I met her several times, respected and liked her. She died too young.

What Clint did to Sondra was horrible. In her autobiography, "The Good, the Bad and the Very Ugly," she describes how she got pregnant while with Clint. She was happy and wanted to keep the baby. However, Clint gave her a big song and dance about how they had such a great relationship, and how work was so great, that that's all they needed. He convinced her to get an abortion AND to have her tubes tied. Years later when their relationship came to an end, he did other horrible stuff to try to end her career. She sued him. It was during the lawsuit, while in court, that she learned he had met a stewardess while they were together. And had fathered two children with that stewardess! Just heartbreaking.

I almost killed Clint in 83' when I was driving a UHaul truck in the French Quarter when he was filming Tightrope. He stepped out onto Rampart St. between 2 catering trailers and I had to slam on the breaks.
Wish I had a dash cam of the expression on his face.
I parked down the street because my GF sitting next to me kept screaming, "YOU ALMOST RAN OVER CLINT EASTWOOD!" I had met him the night before at the end of Pirates Alley after I just finish a joint. He was shooting @ Lafayette Square and I was standing behind a camera. Wearing a down ski jacket and cowboy hat I guess he thought I was the cameraman.
He asked me, :whadaya think? I said yeah, looks good.
So when we walked up to him, one of his handlers try to deflect me. And I just said "Clint, that was me in the truck, that didn't run you over when you were J-walking. He recognized me from the night before and I said my GF would love to have a picture taken with him. And the handler again butting in. "He has sensitive eyes" I said no worries 400 speed no flash needed. So Clint passes his plate to the guy to hold and stands next to my GF.
I said she'd probably like your arm around her. So he put his arm around her, as I Directed.
I not only almost killed him, 10 minutes later I was Directing him.
When my GF and I got back in the truck and inched our way light by light in noon rush hour traffic toward Canal, she unzipped me and sat on my happy bone and got me off before we made it to Canal St.
Thanks Maria, and Clint for the memories.

My ex from 27 years ago (10 years older than me ) born right at the end of WWII lived out in California during the end of the rat pack period late 60's early 70's and was a waitress and a typical Denmark blond (parents) from Illinois. She's still pretty good looking at 79 actually. She was trying to be careful out there due to the "predators." She said it was constant and difficult but was trying to figure out what she wanted to do Hollywood that type of thing. She lasted a couple years or less came back to Illinois.
She had won a couple of beauty pageants and people said she should come out to Los Angeles. Not all that unusual in that period for attractive women. She worked at a motel//hotel as a waitress in the coctail lounge. We actually visited once in the early 1990's. The rat packers hung out there sometimes and so other hollywood types would pop in and out. It wasn't one of the "main" hangouts for the ratpackers. She said Clint Eastwood popped in once and took an interest in like 1970 or early 70's. She knew he had been in Rawhide...
She said that before Sandra Locke He'd come in and saw her and he spent a couple of weeks hitting on my ex pretty hard before moving on. She got hit on even in her 40's by all ages... She said she wasn't interested in him but it was flattering, but did note within a year that she heard he was with Locke and saw her. Her friends commented on his penchant for blondes... My ex was much better looking, not as skinny, more the "healthy" type, but just as blonde real. Think Inger Stevens/Kim Novak...
So, road not taken for her maybe. She and I did a Highway 1 (PCH) run from San Francisco to LA in the early 90's and she reminisced. Fun trip, fun and beautiful lady...good human being, just a bit too much for me. She was always a head snapper. It was interesting that she was very mixed about looking the way she did. She said it was as much a PITA as something to be liked. It got in the way more than it did anything for her. She got tired of the male interest in her, had to learn to basically ignore it, dress herself down. She was extremely smart also and sold/underwrote specialized malpractice types of insurance. But she said her looks got her in trouble a bit when she was younger. I think something happened out in California that made her come home...

The movie “The Gauntlet” came out in 1978 NOT 1997. I have nothing against Sandra Locke. Both she and Eastwood were in an open relationship. If she wanted a baby she could have kept it. Eastwood wanted all the women he impregnated to have abortions. Most did not. She got a nice settlement in the end. She was a fine actor but as a movie producer she was in over her head.

@@janjerge1484 Sondra Locke had more of an acting range than Clint Eastwood which isn’t saying much. They were better in dramas together than those ridiculous comedies. Early on Locke had a decision to make. Be an actor or forever be known as Eastwood’s muse. She chose the latter. That sealed her fate as an actor. Eastwood was just as responsible for that convoluted mess of a relationship as she was. He had no moral high ground.

He divorced his wife finally but Locke remained married so they couldn't bring their relationship to the max. He remained true to her until he realized she wasn't about to get the divorce needed to get married. That was her downfall.
