My mother was Angie’s stunt double for the Policewoman tv show. My mother looked just like her. At a distance you couldn’t tell the difference. People would stop her all the time and ask her for her autograph. We would be at the grocery store and so many people would stop her and ask for her autograph. She could hardly get through the store. I told my mom to tell everyone that they were mistaken so we could get through the store.

We had a good friend who looked like Kenny Rogers. He traveled a lot and was always bring stopped for autographs. Your mom was lucky to look like Angie. Beautiful woman! I remember her marriage to Burt Bacharach. You could say they were the "beautiful" couple. Can't say I don't blame her for loving Sinatra. He had a certain charisma. He is one of my all time singers. Saw him in concert in the early 80's in Philadelphia. Voice little gravely but there was no empty seat in the Spectrum! Both great actors.

@@GhostOfBugsy i lived in Laurel Canyon in the late 60's and rent in those places was $100 a month. You can't get a place there for under $5 Million now. Hell i lived less than a mile from Benedict canyon where the Manson murders took place. I'm born and raised in the S'F Valley and i know for a fact beach property was 5% of the value than it is now. There was no stigma about living near the beach back then . Hell i think it was actress Barbara Eden who had foresight and started buying beach property up. I knew plenty of people who lived on or near the beach back then or rented places.
And let me give you some advice on life pal. Condescending is a sign of character weakness. It's not too late in life to work on that.

It's rather gauche for one to expect privacy after wanting to be known by all. It's called: BE careful what you ask for, you just might get it. To wit, they are entertainers, one step above working in a circus/fair. They are NOT "stars." The majority of us have learned that they are human beings like tgecrest of us, and they need to learn that their decisions have consequences. Don't want the consequences..consequences? Consider the cost BEFORE making such a decision. THAT is wisdom!

You don’t see every day which makes her special, there’s not very many actresses like that that come our way. You are very strong woman, Angie, and respected.

I always respected Angie and admired her beauty and talent. I had many people in my younger days tell me how much I resembled her. That was a compliment that never phased me since I was never conceded enough to believe it. I would have loved to have been discovered by a talent scout but it wasn’t meant to be.
I wound up being a singer in a country band playing locally for a few years then retiring. I have fun memories but never reached the fame I had hoped for.. After Merle Haggard passed away his secretary told me she was told to come listen to our band and so she came one weekend and listened to us and later told me I sounded better than a lot of singers that auditioned as a backup singer for him. She said his manager would have set up an audition for me with Merle had he still been alive, which was quite a compliment coming from her..

He and my mother both when referring to male and female actors they admired would tease each other and say, “She (or he in my mom’s case) can always park their shoes under my bed”. They would laugh and move on. 🎉❤😂

I should have seen the sign when his mother after saying hello to me for the first time said, “when I was 16 years old, I was forced to marry him”…and she pointed to her husband across the room.

It was a very popular show but Angie, knowing she would have absolutely no control over the next half hour this show aired live, she instantly responded with that famous quote, then she bolted.

I loved her work thru 1975 and the first season of POLICE WOMAN -- she had been the most charismatic performer, gorgeous and a good actress. But the problem began with the second year of her cop show, when she was pressured into toning down her natural effervescence, leaving Angie seeming like a pleasant but un-focused benchwarmer in her own series. (Although the first year was terrific). She lost her confidence after that and, frankly, never quite got it back... which still makes me mad even today... Until then, she had been the perfect star -- and everybody says she was the nicest lady.
