Astonishing. What the band may lack in charisma it makes up in sheer quality. In my (entirely uneducated) opinion this is the very best version of the very best song one of the very best songwriters of - at least - the past 50 years ever wrote. Thank you for posting this gem.

Darn rights the Man was an incredible song writer. Eric Clapton himself was just wickedly inspired by J.J Cale. These two geniuses up on stage together, just outright the best of the best. Of course who wrote Eric Clapton's big hits other than the man himself. Mr. J.J Cale. Now if I were a musician and were friends with either these two, I'd certainly want to be pickin a guitar on a front porch somewhere anywhere anytime anyday with these legends. I'd probably just sit back grab a cold drink and just hear these guys play what they play best.....incredible music! Mr. Eric Clapton, if you get a chance to read this, thanks for being a friend of J.J Cales. I can read it in these videos in your body language how much respect you had for each other on stage or in the studio. It must have been an honor to play beside him. Thanks, we're all grateful.

Quintessential JJ Cale! The groove is the bedrock for it all - the song is the framework. JJ's singing and his guitar are the next, and his band is all in there keeping right up with him. JJ Cale is my favorite songwriter and guitar player. Nobody else like him and nobody better than him.

  • @davebeach2343

J.J. Cale had a laid back sound, used short simple phrases for his lyrics, a deceptive voice, and used all of these elements to craft a series of unforgettable songs. He never seemed to want the limelight just kept on playing his music his way. The whole was much greater than the sum of the parts. R.I.P.
