I had the privilege to see this genius, not once but twice in little old Killarney NEC in recent years, apart from his natural prowess, i was amazed at the whole bands stamina. 2.5 hours both times, and plenty of his blues repertoire, just amazing. Timeless, our grand kids will be blown away in the future, i have no doubt.

There is a lot of Truth in all his songs - some are happy, some are sad (or very sad)., some are bittersweet. This is why they are beautiful. "Beauty is truth, truth beauty" said John Keats. The Polish romantic C.K. Norwid said :" Hell is inability to love" . We all probably don't know yet how talented and precious Chris Rea is. Chris - lots of love from Poland!

Chris created this song after all the jam ups on the M25 and M40. Great song and so are all his others. You can't beat British Music, it tops the world.
And lives close to Shirley Bassey. His following in Europe is much greater not because of the population but because his particular music style is more European. That’s not to say he has no followers in the UK - it’s just that he is not a pop musician - maybe a little more cerebral blues than popular music for British tastes
A truly great artist, yes! To crack the American market - which Chris could have done with ease - the artist must slog it out on the road, away from family, away from his private home studio for months, on endless tours. Chris did it his way with enough success for good work-life balance.
Chris was unique sadly suffering a stroke in 2016 and collapsing on stage in 2017 really took its toll on him, and he had his pancreas removed due to pancreatic Cancer. And yet adopted the attitude that when you face your own mortality, you appreciate life more. That I know is very true as I’ve battled 2 lots of cancer and 2 more scares.
