I can understand very well. I spent a number of years in the music business myself and have seen many of the artists to have this very same type of personality that you described. They weren't bad people either just had a very large ego that was hard to contend with. Some of them it broke their careers. Some of them it didn't. I agree it was a sad end to a great Christian Metal Band. Sadly the great ones really are not doing much anymore.
Memory: my Christian brother from Norway heard me cranking this in the car and freaked. He was a music guy, but didn't know Christians played this style.

I had the ability to meet Roger and Georg Ochoa who was playing guitar for him at the time at the Praise Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA following a show they performed there. It always saddened me to see Roger go off the way he did leaving Christianity and converting both to satanism and then atheism. Both individuals seemed like very down to earth and incredible people. The show itself was awesome. I believe it was a tour for this album actually.

Steve Rowe's destroyed Mortification as well as his friendhips with Michale Carlisle, Phil Gibson, and Jayson Sherlock. Ted Kirkpatrick pulled a bunch of backstabbing legal moves and took over Tourniquet completely because he wanted everything HIS way. There are so many others I could go through but these were the biggest. It's been hard to watch the downfalls, honestly

Man I'am a die hard vengeance rising fan. The first time I heard vengeance I listened to about 30 seconds and turned the video off but over the next couple of days I could not get a nuff of these guys. Hard core thrash and death metal take time to get use to. But they are my favourite band and it is hard to find good bands like these because I only listen to christian metal. Awesome piece of thrash and please pray for roger martinez jesus is still waiting for you with open arms.
Reminds me of Slayer with the music tone South of Heaven era Slayer and Seasons of the Abyss. Roger's vocals are very distinct as they are different from either Slayer or Morbid Angel as he's got the gargling razorblades delivery. Pre-cookie monster vocals.
The problem with the Destruction Comes album is that every song on it sounds exactly the same. One song like this is okay. Ten is overkill. Well...not that Overkill...but you know what I mean.
This was the greatest disappointment of the album. It all sounded the same. I have no idea why Roger Martinez did not have the foresight to see this problem with the album. Apparently, nobody was able to tell him as well.
