Most of the songs sung by these playback singers like Arijit, Lata, Shreya Ghoshal are just sung by them. We have lyricists who write the words - Gulzar, Javed Akhtar etc and then the arrangements are done by a third person - maybe an AR Rahman. All this to fit into the storyline and situation. So this is truly a team effort by all extremely talented people - famous in their own right

"Bollywood" is the name the West has applied to the Indian Film Industry. It is a compound of the words *Bombay* (now, after decolonization, renamed Mumbai), because it is India's largest source for movies, and the name *Hollywood.*
In the West the term Bollywood is usually used in a pejorative, diminishing, patronizing, and an amused manner.
It is also, incorrectly, used to indicate the whole of the Indian film industry.
The term "Bollywood" in fact refers only to one of several regional, lingual, film industries in India.
"Bollywood" is based in the mega-city of Mumbai on the west coast, in the Indian state called Maharashtra. Yet, it is filmed in Hindi, the most widely spoken Indian language, which originates from India's largest state Utter Pradesh, which covers most of the north-central region.
Mumbai/Bollywood in fact does produce the largest number of movies in India, actually more films than Hollywood. Together with the other Indian regional film industries, like Mollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood, etc., India produces about twice as many films as Hollywood every year.

"Bollywood" has many great movies. It's the people who won't watch the movies which doesn't have star cast. I've seen great movies where actors aren't that famous n thus it's a flop. Personally, I don't watch south movies cause the action sequences are hilarious & unrealistic. My fav genre is action. So I can't handle it. So I don't think "bollywood" wants to be associated with that either. 🙄
And I'm not even from the north. I'm from the east.

Shankar Mahadevan (a musical maestro from India) entitles him with "The most Versatile Artist". You gotta agree to that for sure at once, if you ever listen to Arijit-SEL latest track named "Luv ju" from a bollywood film. Arijit alone ate three distinct genres in that song itself: Hip-Hop, Filmi Pop, Sufi Style namely. He changes his vocal texture throughout the song as if he's changing his clothes xD.

Let me add my 2 cents here to put things in perspective on how you should look at Indian music - at least the classical and the derivatives out of it (Indian movies do get inspired by classical and try to fuse it with modern arrangement forming sort of fusion). The basic purpose of Indian music is not just to be pleasing to the ears, but to penetrate your soul and stir emotions within you. This may be a combination of one or more of raag, melody, lyrics and composition / arrangements. You might witness soul stirring music from performances with just a vocalist and one or two accompanying instruments like a percussion (tabla / mridangam) and string (violin / sitar / sarod) instruments. That is to say it is not essential to have enormous number of musical accompaniments and gimmickry to call in a musical show. That is why there are ragas that were created dedicated for certain occasions, weather or emotions. Essence is not only how the musician and instruments communicate with each other, but also how the musicians are able to communicate to the souls of the audience. The musical frequencies then becomes just the techniques to accomplish that purpose. If I may expand this further, Vedas are ancient texts of India dated over 1500 BCE or earlier (no one knows exact), primarily in language Sanskrit, considered as one of precise language. They contain hymns which are sung in specific way, mostly altering between low and high frequencies. Some sections have also touch based on the subject of music, dance and other art forms. There are research taking place on the effect of sound waves from chanting Vedas and Indian classical music and it is agreed that these vibrations generally tend to reduce the anxiety levels by the way in which they interact with brain Neurons. In fact the use is experimented in calming down aggressive mental health patients in hospitals. Here is link to one such research paper in studying how it helps in a patient going through a medical procedure. You can google for several such references.

They started out as a parody band making metal parody covers of popular bollywood and western music including Despacito and Linkin Park with Karan Katiyar (lead guitar) and Jayant Bhadula (growl/lead vocals in Punjabi and Hindi). Later, Raoul Kerr joined in as rapper and lyricist and they started making their own original music once they found their sound. Their songs mostly have messages behind them. They performed at Wacken Open Air (Mecca of Metal) in 2019.
Anyways, you can start with 'Machi Bhasad'.

As I have already informed u guys earlier as well, no singer in the world could match the class of Arijit Singh. However when you watch any of the historical movies of Bollywood you come to know the real talent of all the Indian people. The Music Director is one of my favorites of Bollywood Music Directors Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The course by the group of people in the song is called "Qawali". In India songs are mainly part of the movies. The lyrics, music etc is prepared after discussing the whole movie and the situation in which this song will be played and also know about actors on whom the song will be played. So it is for singer and his/her versatility to adopt to the overall situation.

I love how it brings awareness to the love we have for the Quran, memorizing it, uttering verses more than 5 times a day, and thikr (wetting the tongue with utterances of praise to the Creator) you don't have to be Muslim to understand ♥️♥️♥️
