12:30 Bro you are a smart guy. You really understood the Indian classical music science. Spot on explanation. The whole idea is never to be on a straight line. Sometimes straight lines are OK if the song is simple enough. But for a song of this calibre, notes will never be straight. There will be so many notes between the notes and like you said, different swaras. You gotta glide through all of them.

Indian classical is most toughest practice you ever counter with... Not only passion but the thing called tyag(sacrifices) and devotion should be inclusive.. You cant do it without so much patience and persistence... Arijit himself struggled for many years. To reach where he deserves to

Dude Arijit Singh was rejected from a musical reality show..but he held his ground, modified himself and came back strong and powerful..RESPECT..
He wasn't REJECTED. He got eliminated in top 5. In fact he himself didn't have the will to continue due to some personal reasons.

The Alap is the opening section of a typical North Indian classical performance. Here Arijit did a great Alap at the beginning of the song which is hard as it cannot be recorded in cuts.

Tujhe yaad karliya hain "Aayat'' ki tarah . the first line of this song carries so much meaning ! so much more. Aayat in islamic means the verses of "quran" their holy book. It means that he remembers her as much as the verses of quran. That lyrics is so damn deep !
I swear man . The lyric itself holds a very spiritual meaning but it is associated with love. That love is the one where you forget about yourself and you only care about your lover and remembering an ayat is that kind of love where that verse itself is your source of your protection, it's your saviour, your amulet your everything. Omg that one word and that one line alone holds such a deeper meaning ❤❤❤.

Nahi I think he knew what he was saying. Meend is incorporated into the movement between swaras but he meant to talk about the process of approaching a swar slightly below exact frequency, the process which they refer to as kan swar
