Might have to swap my gen 1 A50’s for my gen 3 A40 tr’s to use on my pc & upgrade to these for my Xbox. Real shame these don’t come with a 2x optical inputs option and have an added switch on mix amp which gives you the ability to switch between Xbox & PS4.
I just got mine yesterday for a tournament and all I have to say is if you are a serious gamer this is definitely worth the money ! You hear everything haha. The surround is amazing in shooters especially in fortnite. You can hear footsteps and gunshots from a far distance. Amazing headset

LRRPEXILE they can get very loud. The stock base isn’t amazing but you can get it very punchy with the command center. I love them my favorite headset and I’ve had about 50+ head sets.
Hopefully this is a lot less confusing to use with two devices simultaneously than it was with the previous version of the A40 TR. I just want to use the headset with both my Xbox and PC or my main PC and Gaming PC at the same time. The previous version of the A40 TR had two seperate imputs you could choose from on your computer which confused me too. This is all why I still use my 2014 A40 with the Mixamp pro b/c it's simple. I just have to plug the optical cable into my Xbox, my controller into the controller port on the mix amp, and then the mix amp usb into my computer and that's it.
Also I am super confused about the button on the top of the mic amp with the Dolby vs “pass through” ... isn’t Dolby surround sound and “pass through “ stereo???

I had purchased the astro a40 tr +mix amp bundle and it was defective right out of the box, I had returned it for a new one and the same thing, either the best buy in timmins ontario is selling refurbished units or these are complete bunk, and yes I did the firmware update both times via the pc app
When is the next firmware dropping ? I’m nervous to update mine cause of all the issues I’ve heard about it making the mic worse. Mine seems to be working 100% fine out of the box.
Do I need to plug a 3.5 into the stream port as well as into my elgato to get audio and voice chat into my OBS for streaming? I’m getting no. Audio/chat when streaming from my PS5. I’ve also go the output connector from Astro. Help please
Is it just me or is there no power button on the new Mixamp? I received mine today and I can’t find a power button on it. That’s a big deal because I have the new mixamp connected to my Xbox and the Xbox will not recognize the mic unless the Mixamp gets turned on after the Xbox. I had to unplug and plug in the mixamp when I joined a party to get my mic to work. Not having a power button is a pretty major oversight.
Most likely it will, and for sure audio will work. I use my Ps4 mixamp with my XBOX and TV with an optical jack splitter. The only problem could be that they make the ps5 with some shitty proprietary chip for chat as they did with the xbox one, which would make it OK for audio but not for Chat.
@@VerbalKint07203 Yes It works but only for Game audio. Just use the optical out from the xbox and put it on the mixamp and the game sound will work, BUT you will NOT be able to use the CHAT feature to communicate with teammates.
Quick question so your saying if I have Dolby atmos for headphones on my Xbox series x I should set it to pass through and not put it in Dolby mode? I think it sounds better in Dolby atmos mode!

Does the chat/game volume knob work properly on the PS4 unit this time? I noticed the mixamp for my Xbox One actually does toggle volume between chat and game, but on the PS4 it doesn't (doesn't matter if you're in party chat or game chat). But it DOES fade between aux input which is nice so I can hear PC audio when I'm on the PS4.
This is great. I like it. I hope you consider bringing back a Wireless MixAmp option for us gamers too. I play on a projector and my consoles are far. Sometimes I play on bed too and I don't like the cables running across my bedroom. I miss the Wireless MixAmp 5.8

For that you would plug the usb to the pc and the optical cable to the xbox one, although you wont have chat audio from the xbox. You can use it with discord and it works great after you change your voice and video settings.
Anyone know why Dolby sounds so metallic. Something I’m doing wrong or is that how it’s meant to sound. It sounds normal on the second setting. Do I need to download Dolby app??

astrogaming hmmm, I just fired up my Windows 10 PC and downloaded the Astro Command Center. I have my new Mixamp Pro connected to the computer set into PC mode and the Command Center doesn’t recognize that it’s connected. Same issue on my Mac as well. I also verified that the hardware drivers were installed for the Mixamp as well. Edit: figured it out. I needed to download the Astro app from the Win10 App Store. The new mixamp is still not recognized by the app on the Xbox though

does this work with pubg mobile on iPad pro 2018 connected to Elgato game capture? becoz the problem about pubg mobile is that if you connect the ipad or any device to a game capture(hdmi) it does deliver all the audio to your computer but when its already connected to the computer and you turn on the mic in game ( ipad ) then the audio from the PC which originally is from iPad disappears so i need to turn off the mic in game for me to hear the game audio again from my iPad to my PC

I just bought the 2019 A40 Tr mix amp pro. How do I connect my mix amp to the command center. In the older TRs you had to hit the power button for the Astro command center to recognize the mix amp. The 2019s do not have a power button. I want to upload my Pro/Tournament EQ sound setting to my mix amp, can you tell me how to do that? I’ve been researching everywhere, I even called the help desk, submitted a product support ticket, searched the web, and I found nothing. Can you please help? I would be in your debt. Thanks

The PlayStation 4 is not compatible with 3D audio, but you would be able to receive 3D audio when gaming on a Windows 10 PC by enabling either Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos.
Iv had these over a week now and cant seem to get my mic to work in party chat (xbox) without having to have another aux cable plugged in the aux on the back. The mic works bc i can hear the feedback without the extra aux. anybody else??
Does Xbox get one too or do I have to do some kind of magical work around to make it work for my Xbox One X. It's kinda foul that there's no Xbox toggle notch on that mixamp. I own every mixamp ever made. I was about to push the order button when I saw it only said PS4 snd PC. If there is one for the Xbox will it support the Atmos function?
@@astrogaming I bought the Atmos funtion for my Xbox one. Will the Mixamp partner up with the Atmos or will it just piggy back through my amp by turning off the Dolby funtion. The Atmos doesnt give me a wide sound stage like the Mixamp does so it makes it hard to pinpoint enemy positions. It would be so awesome if the two worked together in tandem. I know I'm asking too much, but have you guys ever thought about releasing a tutorial video on what every dial does in the Mixamp software. It would definitely help save us save some time. Or maybe update it to tell us whats the bass, treble and so forth. I've been a loyal fan since the beginning and I'd like to stay that way, but lately it just seems like you guys don't care about us little people.
@@Phazenemesis You can either choose to use the Dolby surround processing on the MixAmp Pro TR or switch to Passthrough mode and use either Dolby Atmos or Windows Sonic 3D audio. We do not recommend double processing the audio with Dolby Atmos/Windows Sonic + Dolby on the MixAmp. A full walkthrough and tutorial for the ASTRO Command Center is definitely in our content production queue for later this year!
@@astrogaming I tried to use passthrough on the previous Mixamp and it sounded terrible. Does the old mixamp support that kind of passthrough? What form of Dolby is being used in the new amp? It says it's an advance sound format. Can you help me with this? What form of pro logic is it? Also when I'm in a party with my friends they said they get an echo, but only when they talk. When I speak they have no issue. Is there an update or setting that causes this. I have 2 of the previous mixamps and both of them have this issue. Is this the first time you've heard of this issue and if not is there a solution? I really don't want to give up my mixamp. It's the only way I'll even game nowadays. Call me bouji I don't care. It's a beautiful piece of tech. I wish my friends had an opportunity to experience it. Those that have now use the alternative (Turtle Beach) because it's cheaper and complain about how much different the experience is and not in a good way either. DTS doesn't create a wide enough sound stage in my opinion.
I just bought my 2019 A40 TRs. I’m having difficulty hooking my mix amp up to the command center. The command center will not recognize my mix amp. In the older TR’s the command center would recognize your mix amp by hitting the power button. The 2019s don’t have a power button. How do I get the command center to recognize my 2019 mix amp. I made a support ticket, and a response telling my to redownload the command center, I did that, the command center still does not recognize my mix amp to put the latest firmware, and install my Pro EQ setting to my mix amp?
Dat Fella I hope this helps. I had the same problem when switching from My A50’s to the A40’s. The command center (The one downloaded off of astros website) I used hundreds of times for my Gen 3 A50’s was not recognizing my A40’s. I then uninstalled and tried again. Same result. I uninstalled and then checked there website and found the solution. The old command center is used for the previous headsets. If you go to the Microsoft store that’s automatically built into windows, you can download the a command center and that’s the command center specifically made for the newer astro headsets. Hope this helps!

I watched a lot of videos about A50s gen 4 and I was reading reddit, and the new A50s are just bad, they made the ear cushion smaller than A40s so it's almost like in the A10s; the headband is shorter now and a lot of people are having problems with them like: low audio, volume wheel is making noises when you slightly move your head, ect. So I'm gonna get the A40s! :)

David Red No problem. With my current a40’s, I go to Settings-Display and Sound-Audio Output- and under Headset Audio make sure that “Using HDMI or optical audio headset” is checked and under Headset Format you can select Dolby Atmos for headphones. This should be the same for the new a40s. Hope this helps.

One thing is the Astro Command Center I cant find it for this to update the Firmware

You can go to Microsoft store and download the one there it lets you change settings but not updating the headphones
I just bought the 2019 A40 Tr mix amp pro. How do I connect my mix amp to the command center. In the older TRs you had to hit the power button for the Astro command center to recognize the mix amp. The 2019s do not have a power button. I want to upload my Pro/Tournament EQ sound setting to my mix amp, can you tell me how to do that?
I’ve been researching everywhere, I even called the help desk, submitted a product support ticket, searched the web, and I found nothing.
Can you please help? I would be in your debt.

U need to add a patch for the driver on pc because the voice keeps breaking up
You should go to the settings and take the mic out tournament mode and into home. When in tournament mode the mic is less sensitive.
Arriving in 2 days so happy about it. I have the steelseries 5 it is not that great even though it is 7.1 can't always hear exactly where the enemy is during a fps game like pubg

I will use dolby on ps4, but can I use the 3D setting on ps4 as well or only pc?
The PlayStation 4 is not compatible with 3D audio, but you would be able to receive 3D audio when gaming on a Windows 10 PC by enabling either Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos.
Iv had these over a week now and cant seem to get my mic to work in party chat (xbox) without having to have another aux cable plugged in the aux on the back. The mic works bc i can hear the feedback without the extra aux. anybody else??

Does Xbox get one too or do I have to do some kind of magical work around to make it work for my Xbox One X. It's kinda foul that there's no Xbox toggle notch on that mixamp. I own every mixamp ever made. I was about to push the order button when I saw it only said PS4 snd PC. If there is one for the Xbox will it support the Atmos function?
There is a version for both Xbox and PS4, but it would have taken him 20 min to unbox both. Dude loves to talk.
@@astrogaming I bought the Atmos funtion for my Xbox one. Will the Mixamp partner up with the Atmos or will it just piggy back through my amp by turning off the Dolby funtion. The Atmos doesnt give me a wide sound stage like the Mixamp does so it makes it hard to pinpoint enemy positions. It would be so awesome if the two worked together in tandem. I know I'm asking too much, but have you guys ever thought about releasing a tutorial video on what every dial does in the Mixamp software. It would definitely help save us save some time. Or maybe update it to tell us whats the bass, treble and so forth. I've been a loyal fan since the beginning and I'd like to stay that way, but lately it just seems like you guys don't care about us little people.
@@Phazenemesis You can either choose to use the Dolby surround processing on the MixAmp Pro TR or switch to Passthrough mode and use either Dolby Atmos or Windows Sonic 3D audio. We do not recommend double processing the audio with Dolby Atmos/Windows Sonic + Dolby on the MixAmp.

@@astrogaming I tried to use passthrough on the previous Mixamp and it sounded terrible. Does the old mixamp support that kind of passthrough? What form of Dolby is being used in the new amp? It says it's an advance sound format. Can you help me with this? What form of pro logic is it? Also when I'm in a party with my friends they said they get an echo, but only when they talk. When I speak they have no issue. Is there an update or setting that causes this. I have 2 of the previous mixamps and both of them have this issue. Is this the first time you've heard of this issue and if not is there a solution? I really don't want to give up my mixamp. It's the only way I'll even game nowadays. Call me bouji I don't care. It's a beautiful piece of tech. I wish my friends had an opportunity to experience it. Those that have now use the alternative (Turtle Beach) because it's cheaper and complain about how much different the experience is and not in a good way either. DTS doesn't create a wide enough sound stage in my opinion.

I just bought my 2019 A40 TRs. I’m having difficulty hooking my mix amp up to the command center. The command center will not recognize my mix amp. I made a support ticket, and a response telling my to redownload the command center, I did that, the command center still does not recognize my mix amp to put the latest firmware, and install my Pro EQ setting to my mix amp?
Dat Fella I hope this helps. I had the same problem when switching from My A50’s to the A40’s. The command center (The one downloaded off of astros website) I used hundreds of times for my Gen 3 A50’s was not recognizing my A40’s. I then uninstalled and tried again. Same result. I uninstalled and then checked there website and found the solution. The old command center is used for the previous headsets. If you go to the Microsoft store that’s automatically built into windows, you can download the a command center and that’s the command center specifically made for the newer astro headsets. Hope this helps!
RoDawGx13 I went there, and it does not give me the option to download it to my pc, it only gives me the option to download it to my Xbox.
Dat Fella you went to the store in the start menu? That’s weird, I don’t think you can download the command center on xbox. Do you have windows 10?
RoDawgx13 I wonder if the new command center is only for windows 10 or newer. I’m running windows 8, I wonder if that’s the reason I’m not seeing the option to download it to my pc. Im gonna contact support ticket division to ask.

I watched a lot of videos about A50s gen 4 and I was reading reddit, and the new A50s are just bad, they made the ear cushion smaller than A40s so it's almost like in the A10s; the headband is shorter now and a lot of people are having problems with them like: low audio, volume wheel is making noises when you slightly move your head, ect. So I'm gonna get the A40s! :)

Updates are optional but always a good thing to do.

Yes it does, if you go to the audio settings in your xbox one settings you can change from whatever it’s set to to dolby atmos.

David Red No problem. With my current a40’s, I go to Settings-Display and Sound-Audio Output- and under Headset Audio make sure that “Using HDMI or optical audio headset” is checked and under Headset Format you can select Dolby Atmos for headphones. This should be the same for the new a40s. Hope this helps.
