Yes, this is literally all I do. I've tried a lot of different EQ settings/advanced settings and I always end up back on this one *EDIT* - yes, I play with Dolby enabled
I may not be the youtuber but I know my audio stuff fairly well so take what i'm saying as some informed advice. I know it may be a lengthy read but I would take the time to read it my guy. Don't use atmos or any "3D Sound" because 1.) First of all it's simulated software and not authentic 3D sound. I'm not saying that as a snobby audiofile but as a competive gamer.(I play Siege, Destiny, CoD, BF, Apex and a bunch of other shooters) Games by default have 3D sound implemented, when someone breaks glass 45° to your left, that is where is where the sound source is, lieterally 45° to your left. 2.) Using atmos and similer features actually muddy possitional audio. All headphones have a degree of "imaging"(with some definitly having better imaging) and in laymens terms imaging can be thought of as a anolog clock where each tick represents a location and is basically how accurate a pair of headphones replicates the sound source from a location. Atmos and other 3D audio screw with your headphones imaging really bad as a result. 3.) To elaborate on point 2. You have to think atmos as a middle man of sorts. A way to visualize this is with photo editing on your phone. You take a picture which you put in your phone photo editor and adjust it in some ways before sending the edited photo to people over instagram. In this example the original photo is the original sound and the editor is atmos and other 3D audio features and the people is your Headphones. Just like people who don't have access to the original photo, your headphones won't have access to the original sound the game makes so you basically want it to be as close to the original sound as possibel. This is why atmos can really screw your positional audio. 4.) Atmos and other 3D sound feature are inherently hurtful to headphons because they "try" to simulate 7.1 surround sound and you physically cannot get 7.1 on headphone because you only have 2 speakers, Left and Right. 5.) because of reasons 2 and 3 and 4 what will happen is you will will hear where the enemy is but hear them will actually be more like "He's on my rightish" where as just using no 3D audio gimicks will tell you the enemy is on your right with a bit more accuracy as to where on your right. So unless you're playing a more cinimatic game like Tomb Raider or any game that isn't relient on postion audio (racing, fighting, platforming etc.) you really don't want to use atmos or similar gimicks.
@@Caramella_Meako hey man I totally get all that but the problem is with the Xbox xls the astros now are usb not optical and they recommend using atmos. So would you recommend just using the astros on stereo while being plugged in via usb?
