I know, I fancied one 21 years ago, I was a big fan of WSB & endurance racing. @@alonzowilliams116 Great bike.. I swap between the SRAD & my Aprilia RSV, but I enjoy riding the SRAD more.. it’s certainly comfier to ride. It’s a classic 90s superbike, and even though it’s 20+ years, still has more than enough power (for me) particularly in the upper rpm range. Brakes are best described as ‘adequate’ though, especially compared to the radial Brembos on the RSV.. a rebuild may be on the cards soon. I fell in love with a 2000 ZX-7R a few years ago. It was the black/silver livery and was in stock condition except for slip-on that had a broken hanger due to vibration. I picked it up cheap and rode it around marveling at its massive weight and the balls it must of taken to ride one of these in WSB in anger. I am long time Ducati 996S owner which was tiny compared to this ZX-7. Yet the ZX-7 used its mass to hold a line as Newton's second law suggests. What a big hunk of metal.

Race trim shaves a lot of unnecessary weight from the street trim. Plus, those engines were literally kitted with factory race bits. Like gear driven cams, custom cam lobe profiles, timing, aluminum everything, crank balancing. Come take a look at the zxforums in the zx7 subsection. Look for a sticky thread started by ccmhunt. @@Fee.1 anyone that washes their polish off has fundamentally misunderstand what polish is for.
My crash course in bike (or car) washing.
Step 1: wash when the paint is cool, not in direct sunlight and ideally away from bugs and other detritus.
Step 2: use the right tools, you can't go wrong with the 2 bucket method (one with soap, one with clean water to rinse dirt from your cloth), don't use dish soap, use a proper formulated wash. Also invest in a microfiber hand mitt, smooth sponge for your body work, and a sturdy brush for your wheels etc.
Step 3: start with the wheels, reason being you don't want muck flying up onto your already cleaned bodywork
Step 4: move from panel to panel, ideally top to bottom. Following the contours of your vehicle
Step 5: light mist from a hose or pressure washer before drying (yes, we get wetter to dry because science) use a microfiber towel to blot dry in as few blots as possible. (Air drying is the enemy, can make the finish streaky with water spots)
Step 6: this is where you'd use clay etc if you were so inclined.
Step 7: start polishing apply where necessary and use a shammy cloth (or microfiber as Chris was) to gently buff it out.
Step 8: this is where you apply wax if you were so inclined
Step 9: beer and pride in a job well done.
TL;DR don't wash off polish, buff it out

Can I get the used Spain tyres? 😜 no one can afford the dynamag wheels on their SRAD and zx7… too expensive. Are there any other cheaper alternatives?
