Thank you for the video. I'm in the process to quit gambling. Lost my life to casino and sgpool too. Family support is key to kick this habits. Avoid friends who gamble and keep yourself busy with activities. I wash the toilet super clean just to keep myself occupied
The problem with gambling is, 1. no matter how much you win, it wont be enough to satisfy. It might develop into a mindset where money can be won easily so why work so hard? 2. no matter how much you lose, you feel that it will be possible to recover as long you keep trying but chances are often low. For casinos, you can opt for the blacklist for yourself but the moment you touch online casinos thats it. Anywhere, anytime 24/7 and so much dangerous since the betting amount isnt seen physically but just as numbers on the screen. Advice for those, gamble within your means and dont ever borrow from ah longs no matter how jialat the situation is.
I used to be a die hard internet addict and this video, even though it’s about gambling, really spoke out to me. This is the first time I’ve ever “related” to someone with my addiction. Thank you for this video.
Definitely something that they are not proud to share,, but they're really brave to do so. Everybody makes mistake, as Long as they owned it up and choose to stand up again, they definitely deserve a second chance :)
It's not surprising that the recovered people all mention the unconditional love and support from their loved ones. Chronic gambling is a symptom of other problems; a need for escapism or unfulfilled emotional needs. It's not about money, or every gambler would stop after losing once. You don't get rid of a habit. You merely replace it with another one. Hopefully a better one. Sadly, not all addicts get the support and knowledge to work through their emotional problems and will relapse.
Everyone feels a need to escape and have unfulfilled emotional needs. But we don’t resort to gambling away hundreds of thousands. I don’t think we should make excuses for gamblers. It’s important for them to realise the brutal truth which I shall not spell out here. Gambling is the only addiction where it can cost the lives of your loved ones too ( when the money lenders become ruthless or when they become homeless ).
Gambling is the Worst of all demons. It’s tragic. Kudos to these individuals who have beaten this habit, and kudos to their family and friends who have forgiven them.
I always have this stereotype that gamblers are mostly males. Good to include what most people will not expect as a gambler. There’s young adults and middle aged woman etc
Nope. There is. You need to be smart about it. All those billionaires are billionaires with 1 of the 2 reason. Either you see a problem/loophole and exploit it. Or you diversify your initial income and 10x. Both are not gambling and you will actually get your gains. There is just NO get-rich quick scheme in this world. 2 of the method i have mentioned takes time and money.
