By the time I uploaded this scene I was yet to read the manga and just uploaded it cause it looked cool. And yes Near didn't just had it all handed to him he had to look for the videos that led to this.
There is also something I believe there was in the manga and not in the anime. At some point, Near asks Rester "If you were Kira, who would you choose to give the notebook?" (or something like that), to which he replied that, unlike Near, he couldn't hear 5 TVs at the same time. I thought that it was bs when in the anime (this scene) Near just turns towards Mikami, when actually he was listening to five recordings until Mikami got his attention.

Honestly, the anime made it look like some bullshit moment of epic brilliance that is a blatant attempt at hiding plot armor. For anyone who saw this scene and said, "Nope" I would advise you to read the manga.
It makes perfect sense. There's 7 billion people on Earth. only 126 million of them live in Japan. Light Yagami is the real Kira. Who's left? That's right. Mikami is the X-Kira.
Honestly, it's not too hard to believe he figured out Mikami is X-Kira. He also has had a strong sense of justice since he was a boy. So, is it really so hard to believe? And also, Near has photographic memory, and is a genius.
In the manga this scene actually makes sense. Near has a photgraphic memory and caught that Mikami had appeared as a random interview guest more than once on Takano's show, despite having seemingly little to do with her or Kira.

Bruh stop spreading lies ep2 ended with kira and L challenging each other without knowing anything about the opposite side ! L suspecting light made sense from beginning to end but this video right here is what I'd call a "brain fart" moment
What? That's absolutely not true. The reason L suspected Light was because he realised that Kira was someone who had access to information from the police. Kira had to be either a police officer or a relative to a police officer. After Light killed that FBI agent who was watching him, he made it so obvious, atleast to L, that he was Kira.
Nope. His hypothesis was that Kira is obviously a very smart person and most likely not an adult from the way he acted so he instantly thought that Kira might be one of Japan's top students and light was most suspicious because he was soichiro yagamis son

0:51 I love that little visual parallel of Near standing above his constructions with the godzilla figure in the foreground, even standing in a similar way. Near plays with toys because he's modeling his own little controlled virsion of events, acting out his ideas in a miniature virsion of his own design. He's like Godzilla of his own little environment. A force of nature doing as they please, destroying the obstacles and plans of Kira.
Don't forget L's monster speech had given Near a huge clue. L completed most of the case; however L's plan was if he died he would leave it to his successors Near and Mello. Seperately Near and Mello are inferior to L due to their sibling rivalry. Therefore only by working togethor were Mello and N were able to surpass L.

Two things 1, Near took the possibility of Kira being this new L and Light Yagami, and absolutely ran with it. I haven't read the Manga as of yet, but while this scene wasn't exactly the best in the show, I thought that if Light could notice him near might be able to as well, especially if he's more public after the end of that TV show in the story.
People rag on this scene WAY too much. Even in the anime, it's possible to understand where Near is coming from. Disclaimer: I am currently reading the manga but I haven't gotten to this part yet. This is all based on what is presented to us in the anime. As Near says right before this scene starts: "Takada was chosen because she is a strong supporter of Kira, so, that means X-Kira must be someone who knew Takada was a Kira worshipper. Someone who had a close intimate relationship with her before selection". And before that, he asks "Who would I choose to be X-Kira? Out of all the people in the world?" So what Near knows is that X-Kira was selected by Kira, but Takada was selected by X-Kira. This is not unreasonable to assume, since Near already knows for a fact that Kira is among the task force members (based on the fact that their Shinigami lied about the fake rules) and so he can't act freely. And so, because Kira picked an X-Kira specifically to act on his behalf, it only makes sense that Takada couldn't have been chosen by anyone other than X-Kira. What goes over a lot people's heads is that Takada wasn't publicly famous for being a Kira worshipper before her selection. You might have known about it if you paid close attention to her appearances on TV, but that wasn't her main deal yet. So X-Kira must be someone who has met Takada and found out that she was a Kira supporter. As for X-Kira himself, the prerequisite is that he understands and believes in Kira's ideology well enough to act without Kira's orders. And of course, Kira could only have found him and selected him through his appearances in the media. Appearances where he has clearly proclaimed his support for Kira. Knowing all that, Near brainstorms the list of possible suspects. We're not told how many suspects he has in mind, but I'd wager there aren't a lot of them. And out of everyone he can think of, Teru Mikami comes up as the most likely candidate. The anime has a habit of cutting out various details to keep the pace of the episode steady, and I think this is where it came at the cost of understanding Near's jump in logic.
@@yo519_ no it wasn't just someone with a close relationship with takada it was also someone who share kira's ideal not to metion that takada wasn't kira's spokesperson until she became in contact with light also it was someone who understood kira well enough to act on his own, near could deduce that by himself or even ask light in person and if all kira supporters were saying the same thing who did light chose mikami in the first place.
It's fairly obvious that Mikami's XKira because he's the only one who actually mentioned Kira's teachings and functioning by themselves. Remember, this is the show that "took direct orders from Kira." And the lady and him are the only spokespeople that were allowed to live by Kira. Both Mikami and the lady must have a connection to Kira. Considering the woman is already the spokesperson... and that Light is Kira and that he needed someone else to write names because he's already being watched too closely to write it himself. It's obvious to conclude that he's XKira. Of course, you'd want to follow them closely to make sure. Which is what N did.
"everything *seems* to fit" so just a hunch. This is why people liked L over Near. Near copying L aside, the difference was L wouldn't move his case along as though it were certain on a hunch. L had the same "everything *seems* to fit" with Light, but he didn't just arrest him/have his whole case hinge on Light being Kira because Light could have NOT been Kira.
Different ways of solving problems eventually killed Light Yagami. He made correct guesses. Near's mind is like Batman if he doesn't know a topic too well.

Now being a bit older than when I was, when I watched Death Note for the first time I like Near a lot more now out of respect of his talent hahaha Great show!
At the beginning of this scene, Near is shown to be surrounded by hundreds of tapes and videos. When Near discovers who X-Kira is, I don't think this is lazy writing, I just think it's a visually interesting way of getting the point across to the viewer that he's analysing and processing all these tapes. The alternative would be to have a scene where he's putting each tape into a VHS player and watching them one by one, which in my opinion, would be visually dull and boring to watch.
There were millions of people who worshipped kira at the time and were on that same show,so Near just saw that dude and said yup he's X kira, totally makes sense
The manga goes into much detail, but basically Near wasn't trying to look for Mikami, he was investigating Takada and Mikami was in multiple of her shows.
The main problem with Near is that he has all of L's insane intelligence and deductive skills with none of his charm, likeability, or flaws. We barely ever get explanations for his conclusions they just kind of happen.

Pretty sure Near had Light/Mikami as a test and as his main suspects, as what he had left to go on from L
He’d meet with Light, and if for some reason Light WASN’T Kira, then it’s back to the drawing board
Light had a lot more to lose than Near did with that meeting
I haven't read the Manga as of yet, but while this scene wasn't exactly the best in the show, I thought that if Light could notice him near might be able to as well, especially if he's more public after the end of that TV show in the story.
And Mikami had needed to be noticed in order to get a message from Light, and people seem to miss that.
I love how ridiculous and over the top this scene is. Near may be no L, but he's still awesome
Out of all the people in the world?"
So what Near knows is that X-Kira was selected by Kira, but Takada was selected by X-Kira.
I appreciate the explanation, i do think that this scene makes sense if you put it with this context
Nah man its still just Bad written.

@@heracrossz7701 Because it isnt well explained, who knows how much people there are, with contact to takada? Its just simple shit.
Bro theres like a thousand people that said that in tv during the time of Kira, Mikami wasnt the only fan lmao.

Chris C read the manga. He had a better deduction
Well tbf, even in the anime, near has someone follow mikami. They confirmed it only after they saw him using the death note.
Different ways of solving problems eventually killed Light Yagami. He made correct guesses. Near's mind is like Batman if he doesn't know a topic too well.
Chris C idiot read the manga your usles
But light still decreased the crime rate to 70%
I call bullshit. He didn't even deduce it, he just went all Three Eyed Raven and simply knew
Tit0Matic lol true
Tit0Matic read the manga. He had a better deduction during this scene
Cub Cake ch 91
Tit0Matic read the manga you usles garbage
Dark Paladin and you dont know better read the manga idiot
When Near won, L won too.
When Near's eyes lit up, bringing up MBTI, but that seemed like Introverted Intuition at work as an INTJ for him lol
For a moment I thought near has some kind of supernatural powers
Near is a re-written version of “Nate River”
*NA* te Riv *ER*
Rearrange that and you get

See , this is why near deserves the hate he gets, he just guesses he is the killer
The anime doesn't do him justice in this scene, the manga shows him coming to this conclusion in better detail.
This is Near's cognitive function. Introverted intuition or NI. I'm talking about the MBTI.
lol pretty sure the writers thought about that when making this character (this is sarcasm).
It's just anime error. It's explained in the manga.
@@caffemocca8855 Dude... I was just typing him😑😑
Yes, my fellow typology enthusiast...
Ni, the sage-like function that aggregates data points of the past, present and future... and synthesizes it altogether to arrive at a more restrictive conclusion.
In fact, Light was trying to put Mikami in the focus of Near so he could trick him switching death notes. Mikami just messed up everything.
It was Lights fault.
Mikami: Everybody should do tasks.
Near: Mikami kinda sus
乁 ˘ o ˘ ㄏ
In the anime, it's such a Deus Ex Machina moment lol, he just randomly looks at Mikami giving a speech and deduces that he is X Kira
I originally uploaded this scene because of the way the Deus Ex Machina happened, freaking Avatar state.
@@LazySugarLover haha Near got possessed by the ghost of L for a bit there 😅
This. This is why Death Note went downhill after L's death.
How so?
Rachel Barlow No justification. He knew because "he's smart, he just realized".
Hell no. Fuck L. Near is the boss.
Kimi97 near was the person that made everything boring
"He is the same person as the one who appeared in "Kira's kingdom" and stood out in my memory as a prototype immersive to Kira's idea. (...) Mikami appeared twice of all the TV programs Takada appeared. Twice... I suppose they had enough chances to become close. Plus, his way of saying... this closely resembles Kira's idea saying "I don't allow qualified people not to use their talent to contribute to society."" - Near thinking while watching his multiple screens
"-I think the shortest way to world wide peace should be acting under Kira's instruction and direction. Lord Kira, please give me your words... Without Kira's direction or words... I think I need to speculate and judge what's Kira's idea and then act accordingly." recorded Mikami speach from Kira's Kingdom's broadcast
"4 days before this word Demegawa died and 4 days after Takada was chosen as the next spokesman by Kira... This also happened after I posed L that "13-day rule is fake" and Mogi came to me through Mello and Aizawa on his own...
Obviously L-Kira must have thought Light Yagami and Misa Amane would be suspected again and kept watched. If he had had Amane have the eyes and judge, Yagami would have felt pressed. He might have chosen Mikami and sent the notebook from Amane to him who he thought was useful among the people in "Kira's kingdom" before he got watched...
As Aizawa came back and began to watch him, L-Kira couldn't get contact with Mikami, so Mikami killed Demegawa on his own judgement to stop him running out of control... Without any further instructions from Kira, Mikami showed his excuse through Kira's kingdom and after 4 days he chose the announcer Kiyomi Takada, who he knew was a Kira admirer, as a spokesman of Kira." Near concluding Mikami is the best match for X-Kira
- Chapter 91, Death Note Manga
No one:
Near: Mikami is X-Kira
0:00 Mewtwo
00:00 - 00:04 is me finally solving one of twelve math equation in a test
Imagine Light sharing the notebook with an outspoken advocate of Kira. Bruh.
"The sentences of Mikami is clear.."
This scene is insulting to L, he literally just guesses that Mikami is X-Kira.
The manga explains it better, apparently.

- Chapter 91, Death Note Manga
Ludovic Ovsepian Mikami's past, his personality, his choice of words, his actions gives it away that he is X-Kira. Well I guess you won't understand just like many others in this fandom.
Just read the comment that I posted above for the manga explanation.
They just compressed Chapter 91 in the anime, so don't hate on the story, hate on the anime adaptation producers for not making it clear.
how tf is this insulting to L, they are fictional charaCteRs
Now being a bit older than when I was, when I watched Death Note for the first time
I like Near a lot more now out of respect of his talent hahaha
Great show!
0:00 Near has reached ultimate trap card.
HE IS SO CUTE UGH
0:39 "Lol wut. What this guy talking about, is he insane?"
Am I the only one who likes this scene? I just find it to be a really cool scene.
Holy F...the wing sound...Near thinking...Near analysing(with the whispering) and Near....standing.....what a scene..
The entire anime is filled with plot conviniences. Maybe as comments sugguest it tried to follow the manga in shorter amount of time.
"Near sweetie, your telekinesis powers are impressive and all, but we REALLY need you to figure out who X-Kira is"
how did I not see thet before?
my toy! you were T kira this whole time!
Yeah the ocean is made up of water , thats how Near finds out Mikami is X Kira.
Near really has grown
The main problem with Near is that he has all of L's insane intelligence and deductive skills with none of his charm, likeability, or flaws. We barely ever get explanations for his conclusions they just kind of happen.
