    This started out as a "and this is why we can't have nice things around you two" video... and turned into a lovely chest. And, I completely understand about hours worked VS profit made. This was a love labor, not a flip labor. And Ihave my share of those too. Still, great video! Thank you for being you!

  • @jrbaskind
    @jrbaskind 2 года назад +1

    That turned out really lovely! Sometimes it's just as important to keep a piece out of the landfill as it is to make a profit.

    That was so great to watch. You two put in so much work. It was great that you explained the practicality of finishing a piece like this to flip for a profit. As always you guys are great at explaining and showing us the realities of finishing furniture. And it came out very nice indeed!!

    Not going to lie, I wouldn't have had the nerve to offer that wreck of a dresser on Facebook Marketplace even for free. Good job saving it from where it was headed. This restoration proves that anything is possible with enough heart, creativity, and elbow grease. Really enjoyed watching the process. I hope you recoup the loss of time and effort with growing subscriptions and fan appreciation.

    Wow! So much work! But worth it for the result, and good on you two for taking the trouble to repair and renovate such an interesting old piece. If a thing is worth doing, it's worth doing well, is an old saying from back where I come from and you certainly proved that. Another saying is, do it right the first time... and you proved that one too! Silicone sealant on wood? Goodness me. 😳 All`s well that ends well though said Shakespeare. 🤗

    I'm sorry for being late to the party on this video. But holy transformation you two! All That work, well worth it for the final results. Thanks for keeping it real about the time investment into such extensive restorations. They can be fun but definitely a profit zapper. This is just stunning!

    Your determination to complete a project to your usual standards in spite of the many challenges is admirable but not surprising. As always the finished piece is outstanding. And no silicone caulk! (I swear - some people, right?! I checked, this was not a bathtub.)

    Well transcend furniture ive heard of some dumb things done in the name of saving an item but silicone is dumbest yet
    Im working on a labor of love project to
    My labor of love is possibly a depression dresser that once was owned by my great grandmother
    This dresser was in a house fire and took some substantial smoke soot and water damage and was then shoved in my barn and forgotten for 30 years
    Now in 2022 my dad is needing a dresser
    So he is getting the one im ressurecting on my channel hope you come by and check it out
