ok.. I JUST made these .. and they are without a doubt the MOST delicious shortcakes I have ever made ... Buttery.. light .. delicate ( as promised ) and just so freaking GOOD ! AND the EASIEST to prepare .. oh my lanta.. took only a few minutes to come together. And speaking of "drop biscuits .. The next time I am in the mood for just a biscuit... I am making these !! Thank you for this amazing recipe .. To anyone wondering about this one... I recommend it highly .. : ]
Aww YAY! I'm so glad these were such a hit! OK, now for the fall, if you want a savory version of these drop biscuits you must try my Chicken and Biscuit Casserole, So Good! And comforting for when the weather turns cool :) ruclips.net/video/eqE-mjbhGqQ/видео.html
Beth, what a beautiful dessert for Mother´s Day! I think that strawberries in any dish have to be on any Mother´s Table. And those shortcakes look amazing. Happy Mother´s Day Beth!!!! Patricia.
Just made this. And it's a very interesting recipe. The right amount of sweetness. I did everything she said except I didn't have a ice cream scoop so I had to spoon it out. And they spread and running in to each other. Other than that they were delicious !!!! Very delicate
I just made theses and they were delicious! Although, I do have a tip. If you want a shortcake more like the one from the Cheesecake Factory, I recommend adding more sugar and less salt and vanilla ice cream just because the shortcakes were a lot saltier than theirs. I found myself having to add many scoops of ice cream and whipped cream just to over power the salt. Also, I got a little lazy and just used the store bought whipped cream which still tasted amazing! Anyways, I really liked this recipe overall and definitely recommend it.
What a beautiful presentation Beth ! In my province in Canada we are known for our local strawberries.....can't wait for our harvest in early July ! Thank you for sharing this awesome dessert, there is no other tastier than this.
This looks so delicious. I have to join your website. Growing your own ingredients and cooking with them inspires me. Can't wait to try your recipes Beth.
Entertaining With Beth Amazing Beth ! Feel like at home back in my school days when I ate these after a looong french day of work (because in France, school lessons can go until 6 or 7 pm!). And the video on growing strawberries is perfect ! My strawberry bushes died last year and I still don't know why but this year will be better, even if I don't really have green fingers, but thank's to you, it'll be ok ! =) Thank's Beth !
Roddie62 ha ha yes! My motto about gardening is "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again!" :) Mother nature can be fickle! You know how women are ha!
Hi Beth! I know this video has been out for a while, but I wanted to know how to store the whip cream and for long I can keep it in the fridge. I just made this recipe today and it was delicious. Thank you!
Hi Beth! I make this amazing shortcake all the time! it's always super delicious and beautiful. Everything you make is such a showstopper! thank you so much! :0)
Please teach us how to make a Lemon Meringue Pie!! I made once and the meringue started "weeping" after baking... I'd like to know how you make and what kind of advice you might give us.
hi Beth..I love your style and enjoy your videos..I am one happy subscriber..😃😍 am improving each time. these are absolutely delicious. Iv made them for mum and her friends and they loved them..Beth. could you make an easy moist chocolate cake.kid friendly.
Angelina Matthews Hi Angelina..the batter is meant to be moist and sticky..I add flour with a siv bit by bit and find this. really helps hit the right consistency..hope yours were tasty..yumm Liah
Hi Beth. I love your videos! Do you know how to make a Mont Blanc? I had it in Paris last year and have been looking for a recipe, but most of them on RUclips are either in French or Japanese.
HeroinSora Ahh I was just asking my husband about this dessert! He said he will take me to try one this summer when we are back in France and I will study the taste and technique and see if I think they are easy enough to share:) Keep you posted!
Hi Beth! I make this amazing shortcake all the time! It's always super delicious and beatiful. Everything you make is such a showstopper! thank you oh so much! :0)'
Hey beth I hope you still remember me I really with that you could do a video about timbits. These are the little bites of heaven, Canadian mini donuts, and ever since I moved to a different country I haven't been able to eat it. It is my absolute favourite till now there are like no recipes out there. I love your videos wish you the best
Hello Beth! I was just wondering if there was a way to make the whip cream sweeter? I wasn't sure if adding more powdered sugar or trying to add granulated sugar would disturb it in any way
Yes you can! You're exactly right, just add more powdered sugar to it, 1 tbsp at a time. Powdered sugar is better than granulated sugar, because the powdered sugar will dissolve better :)
@@EntertainingWithBeth Thanks so much! I've already made two of your recipes since discovering your channel this past weekend :) So excited to create more! Stay safe
Well, sometimes with that I've found the baking powder can loose its effectiveness. If you want to pre-prep I would make them immediately, bake and then allow to rest at room temp until ready to serve (or place in fridge if longer than a day) and then bake at 300F for 15 mins to warm and soften back up before serving! I think they would be the best this way. I hope you enjoy!
Seems v delicious! However, we live n d Phl so d heavy cream s vcostly! Can u suggest an alternative reasonably priced/practical cream/milk for us to use? Tyvm.
Jeca Valen Actually better to bake them off and freeze the baked ones, they will heat up nicely in the oven after being thawed in the fridge for 24 hours. Enjoy! :)
Well if you mean for the whipped cream, unfortunately that wouldn't work since it wouldn't whip up. Best to use the heavy cream for that :) You could use milk for the shortcakes though if you wanted to :)
Hey Beth, I just checked out your channel through your lemon bundle cake, I like how personable you are with audience. It really keeps me alert rather than a cut and dry recipe. Thank you. So I fancied something sweet for a summer afternoon and this shortcake sure did the trick. I didn't have the cream so used milk instead. Result.. Wasn't quite cooked after time but delicious with peach and clementine side. Oh thanks.. You are lovely.
I TRIED TO MAKE THESE AND FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS. I EVEN BOUGHT NEW BAKING POWDER. THEY CAME OUT FLAT. I'M WONDERING WHY THEY DIDN'T RISE. THEY TASTED REALLY GOOD, JUST FLAT. I PUT THE BERRIES AND CREAM ON TOP AND PRETENDED THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FLAT. WHAT WENT WRONG?
I don't think she listed the correct amount of flour for the butter. I had to add an extra 1/4 cup. My drop biscuits usually have baking soda and buttermilk instead of heavy cream. Then the biscuits will rise np.
beth...I'm embarrased to admit this because you said it's your easiest recipe...and I'm not a newbie cook...I'm a mom of 3 and love to cook and bake. but I've now made this recipe twice and both times my biscuits looked like pancakes! I used the full tablespoon of baking powder and I let it rest at least 5 minutes to let it activate with the wet ingredients. I thought the 2nd time would be different but it wasn't. I've followed the recipe to a twice now. :( how do yours puff up? I don't know what I could be doing wrong unless perhaps my baking powder is expired? do you find baking powder to go "bad"? I've had it opened a good year or so. it's clabber girl.
Kelly Mrsmommy Huh how weird? But yes baking powder can go bad and lose it's ability to activate! Best to buy a fresh can and try again! But just to also confirm you are using real butter? Not margarine correct? Because that would also make a difference. Keep me posted!
+Entertaining With Beth forgot to update! I have perfected this recipe...it WAS the baking powder. I bought a new one and its perfect:) thank you so much for the help!
SilverCharmbracelet Oh yes it's a function of the player at the bottom of the screen you can see the little CC just click that icon and you can turn them off :)
Using the scoop for the shortcake is so cool, Beth.
No rolling, cutting and disturbing the dough. A swell idea, indeed.
MsScorpyscorp right?! Easy peasy! :)
I have a 5 month old baby you’ve been with me through pregnancy, and now I’m baking while he sleeps . You brighten up the world

Our strawberry season is coming to an end!! The best time for strawberries where I live is February through April!
I just made theses and they were delicious! Although, I do have a tip. You always blow me away Beth
Hi Beth! I know this video has been out for a while, but I wanted to know how to store the whip cream and for long I can keep it in the fridge. I just made this recipe today and it was delicious. Thank you!

Gikwang Kscape yes I would pull back if you are using a finer salt, I'd would cut the amount in half. Enjoy!

I went strawberry picking today with my family and decided to make these. The dough turned out a little runny though so we shall see!

It looks so beautiful Beth! I just love short cake! Almost too pretty to eat :-D
So, is this basically a scone with cream and strawberries? Or is it different to a scone?
Loved this, once again! :)
hello Entertaining With Beth ...im really appreciated if u answered my question..may i replaces heavy cream with milk to prepare a shortcakes
Beth I adore you 😘
hey Beth, im confused between shortcake and honey butter biscuit. what is the difference?

Yes
Lovely! :)

Oh sure you could also use milk :) Hope you enjoy!
Can we make some strawberry sauce to go with it
Beth where I live we do not have heavy cream. Can I replace with whipping cream?
+Razzy Papa Yes of course that works too! :)
Can you eat / taste your food after you're doing making it.
Question i made these and i put the oven at 400 and they pretty much melted and didnt cook just got super brown what did i do wrong
Can you freeze this batter? :)
Jeca Valen Actually better to bake them off and freeze the baked ones, they will heat up nicely in the oven after being thawed in the fridge for 24 hours. Enjoy! :)

Dropping the dough really makes it a no fuss recipe~
hargurl So true! Ha! :)
My short cakes became liquid in the oven could that be because I over mixed?
Tasted great. However, mine is flatten, not enough height to cut to half.
First comment! +Entertaining with Beth

Note to self: never bake when hungry. Lol I skipped the "wait for the dough to rise" part....dunno how things will turn out! ;)
I'm curious, how did they turn out?
The amount of flour doesn't seems right. I tried and my batter become too wet😢
