Will Hunt has an intensity and style that is rarely matched -- this guy is a f*cking legend in many ways and in my opinion not recognized nearly enough for his talent. Love that y'all got together for a session - would love to see more of these with him for sure!
This is one of those songs that instantly transports you to the past. It's insane how just listening to this awakes so many memories of my childhood in 2003-2005
This is one of the CDs what I've burned to my wife to get her into rock/metal in 2004(...along w/ Crucify My Heart from Lullacry - another great album from that era)
Ture that! All goths, emos, punks, alts, whatever.. I mean this is one of the 00s anthems. Still today, i get the exact same feeling. The same melancholia. it's like remembering who you really are. It just makes you feel!
Any rock-adjacent song that was on the radio or MTV in the late 90s or the 00s, there is a decent chance it's Josh playing on it lol. Evanescence, Offspring, Puddle of Mudd, Avril Lavigne... One I just found out recently was the New Radicals record including "You Get What You Give"
I think we just need a Josh Freese Drumeo session full stop! Be interesting to see him do "Josh Hears For The First Time" segment.... He's probably played on all the tracks!
As a casual listener that doesn't know anything about drumming, it's nice to listen to this song paying attention on the drums and seeing how great of a performer this guy is!
I love how he gives props to the original drummer who came up with the part for the song. Shows great sportsmanship and respect for his fellow drummer.
4:31 that “Blatt Dat Dat Daattt” on those kicks is just SICK! Yet so simple & subtle. staying in the pocket and giving the song its original sound while adding his own accent with the kicks is just brilliant and refreshing
His contribution on their latest album, The Bitter Truth, is phenomenal. “Broken Pieces Shine”, their current opener of their setlist is the best example of what an amazing drummer Will is
He’s been one of the greatest additions to the band Amy has ever done. The current opener of their setlist “broken pieces shine”, has one of the best drums they ve done so far
This song is timeless. I still enjoy it like the day it was first released. I was just playing a bunch of Evanescence songs on guitar the other day. They are epic!
As an aspiring drummer, I saw them at download festival 2023 and this guy killed it. He put on a show and I couldn’t take my eyes off him, guy was twirling drumsticks and nailing the every note with accents and all, was a definite highlight of the festival for me.
Will is one of my favorite drummers, His energy is unmatched, you can feel he is enjoying playing everything. He has added some extra in this, classically done with finesse and not too noticeable.
This channel deserves sooo much credit. I have developed such a deep appreciation for drumming & drummers. Before discovering it a couple years ago. I don’t think I ever really noticed a single thing about the drumming on a track apart from a solo or a fill where everything else went silent. Now anytime I listen to 99/100 songs, I hear the intricacies of the drums more than anything else that I don’t even hear the lyrics most of the time. and now I’ve genuinely wanted to become a drummer😂
Awesome to see Will finally on Drumeo! ONE BEAST OF A DRUMMER! Can't wait for the next episodes and seeing what this magician can do with those drums! 🤘
I'm a guitarist, but I love to hear drummers talking about music, I so respect the level of professionalism of drummers and I love this song so much so it's great for me to listen to him talking about it! AWESOME!
One of my favorite drummers, the energy he puts into every note is out of this world. Happy to see him on this channel that I really like, side by side with several other incredible drummers.
Give us more of Will already! This guy's absolutely phenomenal. Saw Evanescence live soon after they got Will on the drums and I shat my teenage pants watching him. Been following him ever since and he's vastly underrated. He's got showmanship, chops, taste, musicality, and hits like a train.
Will is on my mount Rushmore of drummers, every band he sits behind he brings a level of dynamics and power that they have never had before and it changes the whole feel for the better. On top of that if you watch him live it's hard to take your eyes away from his playing as this dude knows how to put on a show!. I was lucky enough to get a few drum lessons from him around 10 years ago and was able to hang with him for a bit in Sydney when they came out for the synthesis tour. Super humble dude. Can't wait to see what else was recorded for this series.
I was never a Fallen fan but seeing my man Will playing the drums night after night during the Muse EV North America tour last year (I went to all the 26 shows) caught my entire attention, plus the latest EV album “The bitter truth” is an amazing album. I fell in love completely with the band and this guy is one of the biggest reason for that ❤️🤘🏼 amazing drummer and better human being!
Band hasn't been the same since Ben, John and Rocky left. I've tried to stick with them over the years with an open mind to each record, but largely lost interest after fallen sadly, other than a handful of songs. I can still listen to Fallen from start to finish and never skip a song, can't say that for the other records. I'm still hoping one day Ben and Amy can repair their friendship and make music together again, with their rough personal past it's doubtful but you never know.
I gotta say Gray was my favourite. The way he goes off in the Anywhere But Home version....it's just peak. I can't hear the second verse without that glorious open hi-hat
@Hadgerz he and I grew up in the same town and ended up in the same scene as drummers in two bands that played together a few times and were friends. He crushed it every time. The evanescence stuff is a very restrained version of Rocky's playing. Search 'Sickshine NYC demos' and that recording is more representative of what he was like. It was like Deathmetaljazz. He was so creative and unpredictable. Really good dude, too. Super nice guy.
Will is a top-tier drummer, and in general an extremely well-prepared musician 🥁. On top of that, I had the honor of meeting him 3 times already, confirming my first impressions of him each and every time: an incredibly passionate artist who truly cares about his craft, about the fans, super lovely to talk to - and obviously very busy too (rightfully so); his curriculum speaks for itself! Super capable and great guy! Can't wait to see more material with him at Drumeo - REALLY hoping you did a "...hears for the first time", he'd surely crush it! 🤘🏼🔥
Saw you guys in Ottawa, Canada a week ago and you all were amazing. Loved watching you play live and the drums sounded great. The band sounded great. Amy's voice is incredible!
This song is mandatory in every one of my song request drum streams because it slaps like you owe it money. It’s fun as hell whether you play it as written or whether you want to go full death metal mode and overplay the shit out of it
One my favorite all time songs. Saw you (felt you), Amy and the band in 2018. That song resonates with so many. It was one of two of my mantras that got me through being homeless as a new dad. When I saw it live, I had tears streaming down my face.
Such a powerful song. Drums bring so much to that! Well done. Performing is so important for live music in my opinion too. Songs played live often require slightly different interpretations from how they are recorded. This guy gets it and has mastered it. Thanks Drumeo for this.
Everytime I listen to this awesome song it brings back a ton of childhood memories, also reminds me of one my best friends who took his own life in 2016. He was more fan of cumbia but there were 4 or 5 rock/hard rock/metal songs that he liked and Bring To Life was one of them. So, this song has a lot of meaning to me too. Amazing video! 🥹
First song I played on the drums and thought "ok I think I might be a drummer" 🎉 Also thanks for the beer and pizza Will ! Kuala Lumpur, Hilton Hotel, 2012, the night before the Evanescence gig ;)
Fun fact - The original male vocalist role was supposed to be Josey Scott (In Saliva at the time) but his manager advised against it. Enter Paul McCoy from 12 Stones to take the role and BOOM!
Ohhhhh, this is soo good! Thank you for bringing this song back from my childhood memories!!! Awesome drum player! And you guys are doing amazing job, Drumeo! The quality of a picture is superb! Thank you!
I saw Ev live in 2012 Argentina and can't apart the view from Will! he is awesome! The selftitled album and the bitter truth are amazing works with great drums!
Man, he explained the whole rap/bridge thing really succinctly. I was curious about it because I’ve seen some live clips where they leave the bridge out. Cool to see how the band’s relationship with the song has evolved!
My boy Will! About time this guys gets some recognition for the work he’s done over the years. He’s literally a masterclass in awesomeness! Also Will, I’d like my “Dukes of Hazard” shirt back😂
I just saw Evanescence live in Montreal and Will is definitely an incredible drummer and entertainer. The energy of his drumming live is out of this world
One of my favorite songs of all time! And one of my favorite drummers! I love Will's showmanship, the stick twirls on hi-hat hits, and headbanging synced with how the song flows!
Such a great, unique sounding song! One of my all time favorite rock and roll songs because of that iconic beat, Amy's amazing, mystifying, passionate voice , that background "rapping"/harmonizing that accompanies her so well and of course great guitar and bass work! It's got it all! Will's drumming is phenomenal! It's so damn solid, tight, precise, very creative with his fills and double bass inserted at just the right spots and ya, he's definitely quite the showman! Those stick twirls while he's in the middle of the beat is mind blowing! If I tried that the stick would end up in somebody's ear!
One of the most entertaining drummers I've ever seen. They opened for MUSE and he was by far the best part of Evanescence's show! I love his showmanship and skill.
Josh Freeze is a beast for laying down this monstrosity shuffle beat and Will for making it his own without really deviating much. I can't stop watching his performance i keep looping it! Thank you to everyone at Drumeo for bringing us these gems.
@Unknown.Creation The majority of the songs covered in this channel are from the 2000s. Name a better..more notable..more prominent and recognized time in rock since the 2000s? I said peak. There hasn't been at time since.

OMFG!!! Will Hunt in da house!!! This guy, omg, this guy was THE phoenix for Evanescence's music - I remember listening the "Evanescence" (self-titled) album and instantly I said to my wife "this new drummer is f***ing awesome" - He was so much groove and power... Saw him live last year, he f***ing kicks ass!!! He is like a modern day Mikkey Dee!
So excited! Here's some fun facts about the song as per Wiki: - Singer-keyboardist Amy Lee wrote it when she was 19(!) - This song and My Immortal were set to be included on Fallen, but ended up on the Daredevil soundtrack. - Against Amy's wishes, Wind-up Entertainment brought in 12 Stones' Paul McCoy to sing the rap parts. She liked it though. - This song was recorded before Will joined Evanescence. Josh Freese played on the original recording!
Definitely a cool performance with the flashy parts bringing it up a level! I was 30 when Fallen came out and it played in repeat for a while. Such cool memories just from listening to this song... Great job!
Will Hunt uno spettacolo

I had no idea that Josh originally played the song. I can't believe how much stuff he's played on!
I was today years old when I found out that Freese was the drummer on that record
Same dude what a legend
Basically every record you listen, right? 😂

a perfect circle too around this time
Can we get a Genius of Josh Freese video please? Dude's nonchalantly been a part of so many classic songs and bands
I think more like "The Excellence of Josh Freese". Since a lot of the parts he doesn't really write, just performs.
I think we just need a Josh Freese Drumeo session full stop! Be interesting to see him do "Josh Hears For The First Time" segment.... He's probably played on all the tracks!

That stick twirl at 3:38 breaks my mind, how does that piece of wood not fly off to Narnia
Reminded me of that "drummer at the wrong gig" video
I think it's one of those fake wiggle twirls
It feels magic, weirdly magic.
I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING THAT TWIRL WAS INSANE
I had to rewind a couple of times to see what he did so epic !
As a casual listener that doesn't know anything about drumming, it's nice to listen to this song paying attention on the drums and seeing how great of a performer this guy is!

this song will NEVER get old.
It got old the day it came out.
@@danielfreezer8469I agree but the drumming is good on its own at least.
@@chrisstevens-xq2vb no yeah not a bad thing to say about the drummer
It's timeless, like Nefertiti. This will always be The Nameless Egyptian Queen song for me.
Not only is he hitting hard, being so in the pocket but he also is bringing a lot of showmanship that really takes the performance to a new level.
The way he plays it is just fun to watch
At this point, the flashy movers he's doing is just part of his muscle memory for this song. Nothing wrong with that!
Will is a powerhouse of a drummer..Hits hard litterally.
Yeah!!! I saw him years ago from about three meters away… And he really hits hard!!
Hell yeah, I never saw him before but I'm here for the beating those drums are getting
Skrape
Not my taste,he is very noisy,I prefer RockyGray, he knew what to play, what not to play and had better "Wheiging".

Interesting thing to hand choke a hi-hat: 4:21
He is like a modern day Mikkey Dee!
this guy has better hair than my wife. this is amazing
Love Will. Seen Evanescence many times and always in awe of his drumming.
What a snare sound!!! Love it
I love Will's drumming. His drum parts on The Bitter Truth are kickass.
So excited! Here's some fun facts about the song as per Wiki:
- Singer-keyboardist Amy Lee wrote it when she was 19(!)
- This song and My Immortal were set to be included on Fallen, but ended up on the Daredevil soundtrack.
Great job!
I don't think I've ever seen someone hand mute a hi hat before. Definitely gives an interesting sound.
He’s posted drum cam videos and his hand mute hi hat he does on the song The Other Side is sick!!
Lars also does that
I recommend you see Gene Hoglan playing "The Philosopher" 👀
Gene Hoglan
Will is a beast.
Seen him with BLS and Dark New Day as well.
Awesome to see him on here. Hopefully y’all shot some more videos with him.
🤘😎
Will is a good ole Florida boy! Good stuff as always
