Hot damn. As a someone who makes videos for fun and for own amusement, thanks for the 100k views and for all the love with this video. I truly appreciate it. :)
Edit: And now we have hit 500k views. Thanks again. In case you didn't know, I have made several supercuts and you can view all them in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLHRO3JbmTcg1NVR8Zw5JpJj09s7rFZk3-
375k. Added my little contribution from France.
568 k 🎉
Now do one for the bring me to the horizon one!
744k good vid man. Just find something popular and do this again cuz I love compilation vids of reactions like this. Maybe you can do the same kind of vid for the mustafar scene of revenge of the sith movie 😉👍
850k !!!!
He learned it in 30 Seconds... XD
I see what you did there 😅
Played in 30 second
Some people will say that he lied not knowing the song, but let me tell you this, some people are gifted with music. Literally unbelievably gifted like chad.
Those people just can't comprehend that other people might not listen to the same music that they do. A world famous touring drummer probably isn't listening to the top rock songs on the radio. I always say look at the billboard charts from whatever year the song was released and look at the songs that did better, which implies it was played more, and ask yourself if you know the song. You almost definitely heard it at least once, but do you remember it? For example "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol outperformed "The Kill" on the charts and I can't even remember how the melody goes.
Not only that if one is an experienced drummer it's easy to catch up with any music...ofc technical or fills might not be exactly as original..
We have Charly Garcia here in Argentina, he learn just by hearing the song 1 time, he plays guitar but mostly piano. I truly think some people have something with music that the rest of us just dont have.
brudda stuff like this isnt even hard tho.The song is so easy to play along with.
@@Flecky whatever you say boss.
Y'know what I like? You picked a WIDE array of reactions, you cut them together beautifully, and they're all equally blown away! 😂 Expert drummers, non drummers. They know the song, or not. They do rock music, or not. I see it through fresh eyes every time. This is a cultural event.
Thanks. I have now done several supercuts and I now know what I personally like to see from these cuts. Stories. Multiple mini-stories from these reaction faces. And I think I have succeed with it.
I remember reading Anthony’s biography when they were looking for a new drummer Chad was the only one that could not only keep up with Flea but ultimately lead him too lol
Well, Chad came from a heavy/thrash metal background so he definitely can keep up and lead.
I've watched Chad and Flea jam together live in concert and I feel they only push each other to be better players. Both are great feel players
The story goes like this: somebody told them, there is somebody who eats drums for breakfast.. 😂😂😂
Yeah i recall him admitting he was a pedo in that and wrote a damn song about it.
@@jaycehoward2771 what???
The dude that goes “1, 2, 3, 4, 5” and then the drop. Awesome.
66samus. Fyi. He was on drumeo doing the same thing not long ago
I was looking for this comment that had me cackling 😅
I have been actively looking for and watching reaction videos on this performance since its release and I had probably watched 90% of the reactions mashed into this supercut. But watching them all like this where you get multiple reactions for different things that happen in the video is much better. Good job with the idea and the edit.
Same thing happened to me. Watched the original. Multiple times. Then started to watch reaction videos and a thought popped in my head that I need to make supercut of these reactions. So next thing is I'm making edits of these videos and it took me whole day to make it. It was fun little project to create in a whim.
@@stevebollocks Absolutely love the edit. Thank you!
Yes! Love this!!
@stevebollocks you've definitely got a knack for the supercut edit to have one reaction after another instead of all on the same screen like most reaction compilations. You've found a good niche, I'm sure you could grow your channel a lot doing this! Subscribed regardless (:
@@mariogarcia1048 Thanks. I'll try to make another one and I have an idea for next one (the 90's is calling me on this one). The only thing that is against me is time. First supercut took me a whole day because I was still learning how to make it efficiently. Second one took only half day because I was already familiar of what works and what doesn't on my work flow.
single handedly increases drumeo’s subs by millions. Damn..
Dude is the equivalent to a professional athlete, veteran Captain. S tier talent.
Chad Smith was a bad ass long before-this video. What a great way to showcase his ability to instinctively see the unseen. Just proves he is living the life he was meant to lead and shining all the way there. Awesome job perfect example of living. When you are doing what you love you'll never work a day in your life.
Wow! Great supercut!! This was, I’m sure, a beast to put together, so thanks for the hard work. You nailed it! 👏🏻👏🏻
This video is heaven sent!! Hats off to you
Beautifully edited ! I loved it, thank you for making it.
Wow! At 4:25 Chad breaks his stick because he is playing with rimshot! Amazing!
Chad's competence of song structure and musical theory added to his talent is what gives him the ability to easily pick up the beat and and follow the changes through the verse, chorus, bridge, etc.
This is experience and musical knowledge at its finest. We all know he's talented, this demonstrated just how much.
Thanks for including me in a mashup even though I pause and talk a lot! 🤘
Thank you for being brilliant.
@@stevebollocks You flatter me! ☺
Thank you so much for putting together this video. As a RHCP and Chad Smith fan since the very beginning, I love that the world is seeing how incredibly gifted and talented Chad is! I had chills the first time I saw the original video and have seen it at least a dozen times since then! Rock on Chad 🤘 😍🎉👏🏻👏🏻
This set has opened Chad Smith to the world's casuals. Amazing could watch this all day.
Absolutely incredible supercut. Love that you put so much effort into it.
@@Kreacher3 Thanks and funny that you said that. I made that Supercut on a whim and made all the mistakes on the way. And yet I managed to edit it in two days which is baffling to me because when I now make a hypercut variation of supercut, it takes a week to do it and I'm more efficient on everything plus it looks a lot better.
Great fcuking editing man. Perfect!
thoroughly enjoyed this compilation!
This video pretty much proved to me that my overwhelming joy and awe to the point of nearly crying was not an isolated reaction lmaoooo 😂 fantastic edit- this must’ve taken some serious lift to get everything worked out this smoothly in your editing software. Killed it!
Thanks. Funny thing is, this was a good learning experience on what works and what doesn't on my work flow with this kind of editing. So all it took was time and good eye on piecing it together.
@@stevebollocks tbh LOVE to hear it, hope this experience makes your next awesome edit go that much smoother!
@@graceh.2193 Yep. That pretty much happened. Everything is much smoother when I do a new Supercut.
bro im addicted to watch ppl reaction to amazing music stuff and ur edit is sooooooo good, u need to do that with some viral artist like Ren, Polyphia, Angelina Jordan etc ! Good job bro
I'll think about Ren. And we all know what video I am talking about.
Great drumming Chad. Have a new found respect for Mr. Chad as a drummer. Since I’ve begun to follow Drumeo’s segments.
This is amazing! Thanks for making and sharing! Loved it!
Of all these drummers with unknown songs his by far the best & craziest scary right without listening to whole song first. Took him like 30 seconds then just “ The Killed “ it. Amazing talent
I have watched every one of these reactions. Chad is the best.
Bad ass and what a well edited comp. Chad was in a total state of flow. Actually like his version better than the original. He's 62 years old and has awesome energy
Excellently edited compilation
ive listened to this dusins of times still the musical talent makes my eyes water.
What an amazing edit skill you have my friend
This is a great supercut edit well done
Fucking awesome man. Great piece of editing! Keep it up!
This is such a great video, but I'm amazed at how much disbelief there is that he can do this. Lots of really good drummers can do this.
This is such a great video!!!
Chad is a beast 😅
Or like you said, he is a god.
Amazing!! Other level
The fact he stopped when the music did is wild
It goes to show though, that music isn’t quite as “random” as some people like to think. It follows patterns, time signatures, etc. It’s possible to replicate things with surprising accuracy as a result.
Beautifly put togherther, great vid!
This compilation is dope as fuck!
Biggest smile painted on my face 😁
Chad Absolute Freaking Legend Smith completely owned it. What a phenomenal job.
If you know anything about the chili peppers you'll know they're the kings of improvising literally they jam constantly, so to see chad do this isn't surprising.
One of the most prolific drummers of our time.
Nail down the tine signature, lock the kick in with the bass line and follow the singing for dynamics. Pro drummer.
Best drumeo content ever made
Literally the definition of his name: CHAD.
Chad smith is badass, period hands down
Chad just being well....a chad
Dudes a god 😮
Whoever made this needs to add Jared’s reaction! ❤
@@AngelaWilliams-l6r There is only one reel of him reacting to this.
@@stevebollocks I know. I just thought it would’ve been cool if his reaction clip was added at the end :)
He was WOW
He’s a legend.
Well he's named Chad for a reason
I’ve been saying it for years. When Will Ferrel commits to something’s it’s special.
my autism thanks you 100x over friend
You gotta understand Chad's been playing sold out stadium concerts longer than most of us have been alive!! 🤣🤣🤣
The difference between hall of fame and all pro .
Inspirational like a MOFO 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
30 seconds to drums! 😂😂😂
What baffles me is, how is it that musicians as big as Chad and others have never heard of the famous actor turned musician Jared Letos band??? I mean really lol.
This is red hot to mars!
Learned in 30 seconds on earth
I think we can all agree, Will Ferrell is an amazing drummer. 😂
Hell yeah!!
It’s cuz he’s a jam musician, he’s used to playing on the fly with the likes of Flea and Frusciante. 30STM is nothing for him
Demanding more Drumeo supercut reactions
I tried to find reaction material for other Drumeo video but sadly I couldn't find enough for a supercut. Maybe later...
744k views good vid man 👍 just find something popular and do this again cuz I love compilation vids of reactions like this. Maybe you can do the same kind of vid for the mustafar scene of revenge of the sith movie 😉👍
@@lookatmenow925 Check my channel for more.
The only thing left is to get Will Ferrell to have a run at it too 😂
Needs More Cowbell
Hmmmm 39w prggy & randomly found this on tiktok. and randomly wishing to give birth to a drummer son tomorrow hopefully.
How tf do you do that?? Ive played guitar 30 years and wouldn't have a clue to play along on a first try
Start jamming for about thirty years. Then report back.
i really hope in some way jared leto sees chad’s cover of the song
There is RUclips short as evidence that he watched it with his brother.
@@stevebollocks oh really? i’ll need to look for it then because i really want to see their reaction
What if Chad actually did already know the song and he wasn’t being sarcastic at the beginning
Thays insane
Its Lee-toe, its Lay-toe. Good grief
Ficou melhor do que original
He was one of the best drum students I had.
Now do one for the bring me to the horizon reactions!
he completely obliterated the original drummers performance
💖💖💖💖
this is THE BEST way to do a compilation... no repeats. great stuff man
Exactly. And no video pausing.
i wouldn't have minded hitting all the reactions to when he said "some emo shit" but the one used is great
This has to be the most beautifully edited video of several reactions together I’ve ever watched.
Nah. Go watch the supercut of reactions to the Verge how to build a PC. One of the funniest and beautifully edited videos on this site even if PC building doesn't interest you
Back in the late 90s I was in a band in Dallas (fit in with nu-metal, groove metal, funk metal, rapcore types). We had a chance to hang with Chad after a demonstration he did at a local Guitar Center. His power on the drums is amazing and his feel is unbelievable. We had the opportunity to open for and play with some amazing musicians (Korn/Dave, Deftones/Abe, Pantera/Vin, and a few others). They were all amazing to watch, but nobody was as fun as Chad. He loves to jam, and he's really an impressive student of the art of creating music. His ear is amazing and I have no doubt this is his first time hearing this. He's totally keyed off of Jared in the song and listening for vocal cues that signal a change. He doesn't guess it perfect every time, but he adapts so quickly it looks intentional. He's a fun guy and a much better musician than he probably has gotten credit for. It's hard when you're in a band with guys like Flea and John to stand out, because it's such a talented pool of artists, but Chad is great. One thing that always gets me is how hard he hits. His kit is probably the most reinforced and stabilized (structurally) setup I've ever seen. He literally kicks so hard he backs the bass drum up if it isn't locked down. Amazing to match that kind of power with such great feel. Just a lot of fun to watch this. Probably my favorite Drumeo vid to date.
90s were the best, am I right?
@@stevebollocks It was a great time in my life. Not perfect, but I really believe childhood without the Intenet was better. I see what my kids a growing up around and miss the simplicity of going outside for entertainment. I feel for kids today because they are missing out. You didn't worry about kids like we do now. No weird gender stuff. Politics weren't everyone's core identity. People didn't run around calling each other fascists because someone eats meat.
@@mclostinthewoods Ain't that the truth. Plus the music was special. We had so much alternative stuff playing in the radio. I mean you don't hear industrial metal playing in the mainstream these days. May I ask what was the band you were playing in the 90s?
Did you play in the scene around the early '00?
I was in a DFW band myself
@@tminusfivetwu Yes. We were called Blindside.
His ability to anticipate what's coming next and then instantly adapt is impressive. Chad is a legend.
Once he figured out the song was in 3, man was off to the races. Immediately started slamming and didn’t stop. That why he’s great.
I don't know why, but watching Chad's face while he plays this song makes it infinitely better and it is already great.
Chad Smith just won all my respect 😮
He be drumming close to 50 years. He know what he doing
He literally hears 30 seconds to Mars for 30 seconds and nails it
Chad Smith is the Leroy Jenkins of Drumeo videos.
🤣🤣🤣 10/10
Another impressive thing about this video is how Chad just got lost in the music. It's as if he wasn't thinking, instead, he was feeling the whole vibe of the song and just rode that vibe. What a legend.
One of the best ears in drumming. Old video of him drumming with flea he talks about being able to just listen. Adds to why he can go from bass fills to guitar spice all those catches its nuts. Not to mention the RHCP do an impromptu jam every damn night they play a show. He is just a fucking legend!
I was not aware Chad Smith was a literal god of drums. Good to know.
Damn I had goosebumps all over my skin. Chad ist just killing it. Suchy an amazing dude. So much energy
I always say that chad is most underrated drummer in the world, I'm glad he's getting the respect he deserves
He lowkey one of the GOATs that no one wants to mention that's why RHCP is my top 10 all times ❤
The word 'overrated' has become totally meaningless
One of the most touring and biggest drummer in modern rock…. I’m not sure if he is underrated….
I guess by underrated he means that he's not praised enough, like imagine when people say that Freddie Mercury was the best singer ever beside genres...
@mogglie He isn't mentioned as much as someone like Dave Ghrol, who has Nirvana and Foo Fighters to his resume. Dave himself didn't get any recognition until after Nirvana really.
Drummers are often overlooked.
Here I am chasing the high again when I first saw the Drumeo video 😂
Same here bro😂👍
It brings a tear to your eye to see how much love and respect everyone has for Chad, so criminally underrated as a drummer. It's like... GOD HIMSELF sat behind the kit and went with it
This is what happens when you're one of the greatest pocket drummers ever. Love it!
What a random recommendation from a 29 subs account. Pleasantly surprised at the no bullshit concept with no repetition. Only thing I can add is that normalizing the perceived volume around the drumeo video would be nicer but I understand it could make it harder to hear the commentary so it's a hard choice to make.
Yeah, I tried to normalized it around the original video but like you said, it would drown out the commentary if ran it through the whole video. This was the best I could do with my limited knowledge of Vegas Pro. Still learning though.
