I don't think the Straight Pipes had the ridiculously good stereo system in their A-spec. Awesome audio can make you accept an interface you don't care for.
It seems like Acura addressed many of the issues w/ the 1st gen TLX: 9 sp ZP transmission, very laggy infotainment, size/proportions, and dual screen layout. The shifts still seem a bit laggy, but the sound system seems to have gone to a new level. The new I-4 has very similar performance of the outgoing V-6, but fuel economy is only moderately better. The I-4 TLX used to be a "bargain", but the price has swelled a little. This is a good first impression, especially coming from the previous gen.

Thank you for equally demonstrating the vehicles true driving dynamics plus giving us a thorough sampling of what the 17 speaker 3D ELS sound system experience is like in the new Advance TLX. I'm wary with anything new from Honda and Acura. They've a track record of denying issues, be it oil dilution or transmission. They'd deny for years until the initial batches die out and only then respond to what's still left running.

One of the reasons i can't go away from Acura is because of the handling, interior luxury & sound system. I only ever buy used, to keep my payments down. I tried another car once, but I could not stand the road & interior panel noise.
Pretty interesting to see how much Topher loves the interior and infotainment of this car. But Yuri from the Straight Pipes absolutely hates it. Just shows that there's something for everyone. I'd definitely prefer the g70, 3 series and c class over this thing.
But I am patiently waiting for the Type S to come out. Feel like this model is missing the fun and excitement factor that the competitors have more of.
Dude Yuri was just ragging on this, I was expecting topher to do the same thing. I realized in the straight pipes the car was slow to down shift but this car didn’t have that issue. Maybe it was just that unit
@@rodneynasir8089 not a good sign if the brand new cars for media members to review are showing such wide variance in performance and experience. Hope the type S isn't like this. Lol
yaomeezy I agree not a good look
Rodney Nasir yeah I saw in a different video that it was slow to downshift too.
I don't think the Straight Pipes had the ridiculously good stereo system in their A-spec. Awesome audio can make you accept an interface you don't care for.
What i like about my 2005 tsx stereos are the clear and crisp high. And punchy, yet not boomy base
Intro: Acura is ready to drop the Beat! 🔥
The audio on this video😭 when he first opened the door i was like wtf
I was sitting in my work truck watching this with AirPods on, I thought someone opened my door 😂
The music used in the audio test???

I like many others can't get over the woodpecker turn signal sound. Can't wait to see the 3.0 V6 when it comes out.
The 2.0 replaces the 2.4 right?
Did you dust the curb at 5:01 or was that a bump 😂😂
hahahahaha nicely calibrated indeed
Honda has always been more about making a really fun car for the money
for some reason the straight pipes hates this car.....dont know why
They gave reasons for that if you watched carefully. Also, they got to ride it for a few days. Where as this is just a first impression
Awesome review 💯! Thank you for equally demonstrating the vehicles true driving dynamics plus giving us a thorough sampling of what the 17 speaker 3D ELS sound system experience is like in the new Advance TLX. You said you had the TLX an hour yet you were using the true touch pad like a boss 💪 while driving! So many other youtubers moan and whine over how unintuitive it is to them.
its abit weird coz i'd normally expect the volume nob to be where the driving mode selector is and vice versa
Red it was and they changed it
among us
Honestly since the first generation of ELS Acura has been killing it with their stereos. It’s amazing how great those speakers sound and it makes me jealous with my old 2006 jbl synthesis speakers in my 4Runner haha.
You can see the mirrors moving from the mid range
Time stamp?
@@1GTASANANDREASCJ 14:24 look at driver side mirror ossiclating to the mid range
@Sir Feynman I've got a 2010 Tech with ELS, and mine does not do that. But hopefully the final production models are better.
@Sir Feynman My 05 TL did it too. Have a 2020 Civic Sport Hatch six speed now and it doesn't do it, the sound system isn't as powerful though.
That sound system is so unreal
I'm not feeling that body line on the side. Kills the whole look IMO.
The 2.0T engine is excellent. The power is on tap at any speed. This car is worth the test drive.
ofc its a k20 :-)
@@RaY_77W with V-Tech Power.
@@stevenr6279 yup! VTEC TURBO powa!
looks nice, although not a big fan of the tire screeching
Hopefully its only because of the eco tires
With some performance tires that will be less of an issue.
That isn't the car's fault.
A change of tires can make a big difference. Even all-season tires, if more performance-oriented, will squeal less at the limit.
You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to see your review...
I'm wary with anything new from Honda and Acura. They've a track record of denying issues, be it oil dilution or transmission. They'd deny for years until the initial batches die out and only then respond to what's still left running.
To be fair, I believe they fixed the oil dilution issues for their cars in the 2019 model year and up.
RDX with this same infotainment has tons of bugs and issues. Even class action lawsuits.
@@kevinnorris6558 I'm not saying they don't fix the issues eventually. They still have to sell cars. But they care less if you're stuck with a lemon.
N0RT2G0RD4U In Toyota’s defense, I’m baffled that people in those situations didn’t know that putting the car in Neutral would stop acceleration.
@N0RT2G0RD4U Search for Honda third-gear issue. That issue had happened on several Honda and Acura products since 2002 and this fix was deliberately put out in 2008 after most of the lemons were out of warranty.
it actually sounds really good! Im pretty impressed with it
Yawn.... Honda missed another opportunity to create a platform that performs with the upper tier Luxury Brands (BMW, Merc, Audi)... Heck Genesis does it right!... A proper Longitudinal RWD based platform that NO Transversely mounted platform can match..... Dont care that it doesnt share the platform with the Accord...Acura will and forever be known as the Econo (I cant afford a BMW) Luxury brand.....Honda Branding Failure once again
@Gabe Hernandez oh Gabe Hernandez, someone who uses their legal name as their RUclips handle...ive owned C63S, M5s and my wife drives a Genesis G70 3.3TT.... and i can tell you Acura is an Eco Luxury brand... sorry ifyou can only afford a TSX and are still dreaming of a TLX like this...you need much higher aspirations in life Gabe Hernandez
Outside of the fake engine note, this seems like a really compelling package. Great job Acura!
Too heavy 😞
Best review of this car as of yet.
Is it just me or does it kind of look like a BMW from the side?
Yeah ngl it kinda reminded me of one
It's probably the Hoffmeister kink
@@joespittle1 maybe, but one thing's for certain: this Acura is pretty dope
This car is way prettier than any modern BMW.
@@gauravramasani9395 ikrrrr, they've really tried to shake off the rebadged Honda stereotype and they're doing a good job of it.
The only way to go with this brand is the upcoming TYPE S. 💯🙌
Yessir
I can't wait to hear that V6 Turbo
Another failure from Acura. Shitty transmission, weak tires, poor infotainment system.
How?
Troll
Acura is back and they need to be because with cars like the Genesis G70, BMW M340i, Kia Stinger, Mercedes Benz C43 AMG, Cadillac CT4/CT5 V etc... The competition is heating up!
If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought this car has a 3.5 liter V6 under that hood. The 2.0 liter sounds potent.
It's fake sound. Record a V8 rumble and playback on the audio to pretend you have a V8 under the hood.
That sound quality is phenomenal. Sounds like you added the track to the video and it's coming from my phone...not the car speakers!
Finally has luxury vibe
I really like your style of reviews, keep it up!
Wow, even on video the ELS system rips! So worth the extra.
Interior looks like a yacht 😍
soundsystem is BUMPIN
Acura is gettin their groove back.
Omg look at that interior so nice to be in. I would sleep in this thing the first few nights upon purchasing.
Exterior looks great, interior looks immaculate, and that engine note is amazing for a 4 cylinder. Seems like it's an uptuned version of the Accord's engine (K20C4). The CTR uses the K20C1.
I am really liking this new 2021 TLX!! Only thing missing is Digital Speedometer and Tach like new BMW 3 series, Audi A4 and A5 premium plus.
I really want this car
I’ll miss mine… had to trade mine in for an suv for the family growing. The sound system is fantastic for a stock system
Sound system and interior looks great.
I still prefer a shift knob though.
Acura overhauled this guy, I have high hopes for this decade for cars >:)
Love the new steering wheels these manufacturers are using btw. The circle in the middle with a T is so sexy
