Never noticed the detail of Esther putting on Daniel’s HR monitor so that staff isn’t notified. And the fact that the low rate indicates how calm she is? Genius!
At the orphanage, when John asks Ester who taught her to paint, she says she just had a lot of time to practise. Looking back, she meant that literally... 'cause she's been alive for 33 years.
i heard about this movie but when i first saw this video and found out that ester isn't a 9 year old girl and that she is actually a 33 year old woman named leena klammer with a rare hormone disorder called hypopituitarism i gotta admit i honestly did not see that coming😨
Man, Isabella deserved all the acting awards, she did a great job as Esther and seeing behind the scenes of her taking about playing her shows she put her all in performing
he said it in the kill count but i want to say it again because it's so true lol, that twist would've been SO hard to swallow without her, this would've gone down as one of the dumbest movies ever if Isabella hadn't played esther. this movie really depended on her performance. I actually thought that they got an older actress (20s) to play her because her performance was so phenomenal
I never realised how young she was as an actress in this movie! I always figured she was a young looking teenager, with a bit of make-up/camera trickery thrown in. What a remarkable performance 👏👏
I actually REALLY LOVE that they kept the same actress Isabelle Furhman for Orphan: First Kill. Her looking a bit older makes it seem like she hasn’t mastered her scheme yet. She hasn’t learned to wear the prosthetic teeth and do her makeup properly to look like the child she looks like in the first movie. It actually works that she looks older. They say in the first movie that she has done this scheme several times assuming perfecting it and learning each time.
I also think she may have been fed more/better with American families- thus keeping on enough weight to look like she has natural pre-puberty ‘baby-fat’. That’s the main difference that throws me off in what I see of first kill- she doesn’t have the same look as a child whose body is ACTUALLY retaining weight in anticipation of a growth spurt.
"If I find out that you're lying, I'll cut your hairless little prick off before figure out what it's for." THAT line. I'm grown and that would've scared me into silence. The way it was delivered was so cold. Like. . .DAYUM!
While this probably isn’t what the directors thought of doing, I saw someone explain that it made sense that ester looked older in first kill because this was before she fully mastered making herself appear younger.
so this was the top comment when i opened the video and this was the first movie that i decided to watch before the kill count because of the twist. so when I saw this i was like"oh esther can't shoot okay all's good" and then when max picked up the gun i was like "OH!"
The "Matthew, Mark, and Luke look different from John" might actually be a reference to a real world concept of biblical literature called the "Synoptic Gospels" where Matthew, Mark, and Luke are all written from the same perspective but the perspective of John is unique. Either that or it was just a random joke but with how many deep cuts James sneaks in it wouldn't surprise me.
@@irmaryssamalot4804 I could shoot my .22mag just fine as a kid but a revolver with a ~14lbs trigger pull? Yeah right 🤣 doesn't matter if the kid is trained, they simply don't have the finger strength
I was adopted, this was my favourite horror movie as a kid. I’m so nervous for the prequel, it better not be a disappointment! This movie was honestly perfect on its own
i remember when this movie came out. i was in high school at the time and everyone was talking about it, but surprisingly still keeping the twist a secret, which was kinda cool
i randomly saw this movie a while back at a friends house and i loved it. that twist is wild. i actually thought that was a different actor at the end, didnt know it was make up
I do wonder how avoidable this movie would have been had Kate had an actually good therapist. "Kate, In all due respect, are you in a position to give an adopted child a stable life? You haven't fully healed from Jessica's death and we both know how deeply hurt you are by your husband's infidelity and lies. While I respect and admire that you have so much love to give, I don't think it will heal you in the way you're hoping it will."
Therapist: *puts a hand on Kate's shoulder* "Kate, I respect you a lot and I care for your well-being, and with all of that I say, you should consider taking a break from your husband till things feel right again." Translation: girl, leave his cheating, gaslighting ass rn you deserve better.
What I love about this movie so much is we as the audience of course know Esther is the villain so it’s easy to pass judgement on John but if you look at it from his point of view, your alcoholic wife who injured your daughter and just suffered a miscarriage is accusing a 12 year old of being a murderer, but because he cheated and we see Esther commit crimes on screen everyone is quick to blame him. But all these characters are so complex and well-written that it’s so easy to see both points of view. It’s also a really great example of gaslighting, you can see Kate question her own sanity when she realizes Esther’s arm is actually broken.
Thank you. It was kind of annoying to hear about how bad of a guy he was when his wife obviously had severe issues mentally and physically with alcoholism and loss.
To be fair if my spouse started freaking out about the child we just adopted I’d be returning the child. Not because of the child but for the sake of my spouse. I mean the whole reason they adopted a child was because she thought it would help her. It was not helping her. Oh and I am a parent. But that’s why they adopted this girl. They didn’t do it for her sake they did it for their own.
except the fact that they only adopted Esther because of the wife. they pinned the hole thing on the "mommy not wanting me", but the wife asked for her to be there, aside of that people getting hurt as soon as we bring this child into my house should have definite been the first warning. they don't know the little girl and he gave all his trust to her after 3 weeks, as soon as she was adopted, kids were being hurt and then others was murdered. as soon as the nun was murderer he should have raised a couple red flags. he cheated on purpose, she accidentally inured her daughter. and he didn't even tell her until a very long time. she suffered with that guilt for a very long time, he said to basically get over it so he anit feel guilty either. but beside all that THEY suffered a miscarriage which is the whole reason Esther is even there. again aside all that all these people getting hurt and murdered is definitely a warning. ESPECIALLY when esther takes the flowers, she is a smart girl and can read as well. they even had a memorial plague. even he gave excuses because her arm was broke but he was also there when she took the flowers, they made him play the bad guy because right then he didnt care about his dead baby over this random little girl.
@@desireemayfield8367 nobody is saying he’s a saint or that cheating on his part wasn’t wrong. But you’re SUPPOSED to fully love and trust a child if you’re gonna adopt them. And again, he was completely villainized for not believing his ALCOHOLIC and OBVIOUSLY ptsd filled wife. Who the hell is gonna believe a child is gonna do any of that. ESPECIALLY when their biological daughter said kid who got pushed off the slide had slipped and fallen. She made the choice to get drunk and her child was hurt BECAUSE she chose to get wasted instead of taking care of her child properly. That’s not an accident that’s a CHOICE so at the end of the day, her not being believed is just as much her own fault as it is his.
@@dc1659 If my own flesh and blood did some creepy shit just know that I’m also not gonna trust them either I don’t care if I pushed that child out or adopted it that does not make them not magically capable of murder. As I said up top by the time that none was murdered he should’ve questioned something anything his own child was lit on fire. I don’t trust nobody after three weeks I don’t care if I adopted them or not. I don’t care if they’re family or not we’re talking three very short weeks that’s not even a month. And after a couple weeks so much shit went down that he just fully ignored. Just like James said it wasn’t until she outright hit on him that he saw something wrong if my child was lit on fire and locked in that place that was lit on fire there is no way that I’m gonna sit here and not question how this could’ve happened. He cheated on her sober and cautious. She accidentally injured her child while drunk. No I’m saying it’s good to be an alcoholic but there are plenty alcoholics that are perfectly fine as an alcoholic. That’s why it’s still legal to be alcoholic. And again after injuring her child she suffered tremendously for it. He chilled in his wives face like he ain’t do nothing wrong she’s at least understood that she was at fault. No I’m saying either one of them are perfect. But if my wife or husband was ever uncomfortable in our home, I’m a listen. Flesh and blood murder each other and they be children too so yeah we do think and know that children can do this it’s been documented recorded they’ve been arrested it’s very possible it’s unsettling but it ain’t never gonna happen. We as an audience know that the sister was just terrified same as the little brother. But if you look at it from his point of view I mean even buy the flowers I would’ve been questioning she knew it was a memorial, they have a memorial plaque. Clearly the miscarriage mattered more to the wife than it did to the husband even at that point because why would you overlook that? whatever happened before doesn’t matter it’s what the actions are doing right now and he had plenty of warning signs that that girl was crazy even down to the nun questioning it and then Turned up dead. It takes only one episode of criminal minds to like fill in the blank 😂
In the original script, there's actually a reason Esther tries to seduce John. When Esther/Leena was a child, her mother died of AIDS, and her father sexually abused her, which resulted in her becoming infertile. Once her father took another lover, he told her that it was because of her condition and that she could never be a real woman. End result: Leena murdered her father and his paramour, and she was sent to the Saarne Institute. Because of this screwed-up childhood, whenever she was adopted, she'd always try to find love where she thought she had it as a child - with the father. Also, as an Australian, I'm fuckin' stoked to see Wolf Creek get the Kill Count treatment!
@@shacharlem4424 Spoiler alert I've seen the movie No, it shows us her escape in the Saarne institute and how she killed the family who brought her to America, and the origin of the name "Esther"
This movie absolutely terrified me as a child and even now it’s still scary. With how the actress who played Esther nailed her role, the anticipation and everything from beginning to end on how and what is wrong with Esther was truly great cinematography!! Edit: Never had 1k likes on a comment before, thanks everyone! 🙂
idk wtf is wrong with me but seeing that small clip of the mom trying to expain to her daughter abt the stillbirth had me burst into uncontrolable tears.
It’s definitely something relevant to you that happened in your life. Maybe not that exact thing but something similar. I had a similar reaction when a chef featured in Hells Kitchen passed away from cancer. She reminded me so much of my ex that when I found out the chef had died of cancer I cried uncontrollably as well so I understand. And there’s nothing wrong with you. You just had a very subconscious connection to that scene.
As a kid in the system, no one adopts a troubled 8-18 year old. Or at least, it's super rare, obviously most of us aren't psychopaths, but shitty groups censoring horror movies instead of actually helping kids show how much they really care. Amazing video as always James!
My aunt did foster care, and whatever issues the kids had, she'd exacerbate them. -.- I was too young to understand, but looking back she'd egg them on and then have stuff to complain about to people. My mother is the same way, but she just abuses her own children.
@@RealBradMiller my mother is the same way, and fortunately I met some truly good people trying to help kids. But one bad apple spoils the bunch, and the kids have to grow up with it the rest of their lives. I'm truly sorry that you've seen/had to experience it, and hope you're doing better now. :)
@@lukeflamand5511 I've just had to deal with her for (if I have anything to do with it) one of the final times, she doesn't even know it. Strange feeling that. She was trying to gain the upper hand the entire time, over the smallest of things. Hopefully onto a better life, feel bad for my siblings, but we're all grown up. I've lived on my own for over a decade, she borrowed money from me, then used it to buy the land my rental was on and booted me out, forcing me to move in with her, CRAY-ZEE. Sorry for the rant, thanks for the kind words and hope you are living your best life now. 🙂
As an Estonian person myself, I can say that she (Esther’s actress) did awesome job with the accent! A few times it sounds more like a Russian accent but overall the accent is incredible! So hyped for the new movie!!!! Edit: Just wanted to add that Orphan is in my top 100 fav movies of all time, I absolutely love it!
Esther was played perfectly, but Max was SO adorable. She reminded me of my cousin's daughter so much in the face, so when I see Orphan, I think about my little cousin, Brooke.
orphan is probably my favorite horror movie, i love how it touched so many topics with a psychological twist at the same time. the campiness is the cherry on top, i love Isabell's performance so much
I actually think it really works that Isabelle Fuhrman is older in the prequel. It's like Leema hasn't quite mastered making herself look like a child just yet like she eventually does pretty damn perfectly in Orphan.
Yea I agree and there making a thirst aopetantly bc in the end of orphan it does show her neck being broke and her being killed but they never showed us if she drowned and actually died and in the end she's getting ready. I assume she's moving on from the Colemans onto somthing else now.
I always assumed Esther's actress was an adult because of how she played and the intimate scenes she had to be in. I am really impressed by her talent.
Something that is so interesting to me about this movie is the ribbons. If someone took the ribbons off her, I don't think anyone would look at the scars and go "wow, those look like marks from a straight jacket. Therefore this must be an adult with dwarfism who stayed in an asylum." Just seeing her scars, they would assume that she was a child who was abused severely by her previous family and she could use that to her advantage so much - she could use it to explain her strange behavior and her emotional outbursts and it could be a point to manipulate people so much better. Not only being a little girl but being a victim in people's eyes - I am surprised she didn't use that to her advantage
idk why Isabelle didn’t win an award for this. she was phenomenal. she seemed to disappear from hollywood after the hunger games. glad she’s back in the game
The green ribbon reference made my day, in all my 28 years, never have i met another who read the green ribbon. That story scarred me as a kid, until i became so numb to horror lol. I miss that book of weird and creepy stories
They reference it in the Telltale game Wolf Among Us and I know a lot of people who are familiar with the story through that! Except the ribbon is purple in the game, not green
What book is it from?? I know I read it as a kid but the ribbon story was the only one that always stuck with me. I think it scared me so much as a kid that I repressed it from memory, but as soon as James mentioned it, it all came back and now I’m curious to revisit the whole story/ book
Hard to believe that the Esther's actor was that young since that kind of mature acting was really a treat to watch and gave that genuine feeling that she was a threat to everyone around her.
This is the first time I’ve ever actually watched the movie before the video because James told me to. And I am so glad I did, cause this movie is a rollercoaster of emotions.
I've never watched any film specifically in anticipation of a kill count. Just because there's never been a film that he's gonna count that I haven't heard of before, and if I'm already aware of it and wanted to watch it, I would have seen it already
Usually when a trailer says "You'll never guess" they're lying, cause I can see it a mile away. THIS film...they were NOT kidding. I was completely fooled! And pleasantly surprised! It's not every day we get a genuine twist when we think we've already seen everything. =) The scene where she is taking off her makeup and slowly revealing herself while the dr is telling the secret to Kate, my jaw just kept dropping lower and lower the further it went. ALSO, the twist wasn't dumb but believable and made complete sense. It was a huge OMG moment. lol
Part of the “you’ll never guess” is that we’re watching from an outside perspective and know that the villain is, well, a villain. The characters don’t. Some movies do it just to be “scary” though and don’t really have a mysterious antagonist
@@antisocialal4799 what do you mean by dialect? They're two different languages. Also I gotta say I've never heard any estonian speak with a slavic accent, if anything it sounds more like the finnish accent.
I can’t begin to explain how much I love this new background set that James made. It’s amazing and honestly I think it couldn’t be better for a show like this
Having seen _Orphan_ before, I can say that this film and _Hereditary_ are probably the only two films to disturb me, if not only slightly. It's directed pretty well, and the overall aura of this film just fills you with that sense of uneasiness and dread that not many horror films are able to do these days.
When a horror movie takes time to develop its characters, it makes their suffering far more impactful, fulfilling its goal: to scare the audience. Combine that with suspense, and a big twist, both of which Orphan uses to great effect, and you get this masterpiece of a film. First horror film to ever TRULY scare me.
Esther/Leena's death is great. Before she died, Kate tells her that she's not her mom, for a brief moment, Esther/Leena realizes that Kate isn't going to fall for her lies before Kate kicked her neck snapping it.
Yeah. It wasn't mentioned here but she was also s*xually abused from infancy (hence the attraction towards the fathers if the families) which is just like, extra f up
The poster freaked me out because Esther's face seemed too symmetrical, like they're saying "You think this is another normal child? Take a closer look"
"I'll cut your hairless little prick off before you even figure out what it's for." That is a hilariously diabolical line, especially coming from someone who presumably shouldn't be old enough to know what it's for, either.
Yeah and although she's said she fine now, mentally, back then her parents, and even her older sister, actually made her take a few days off because all she'd do is stay in-character and it was worrying them all. I can imagine how scary that would be as an older sibling and as an older person looking at someone younger who's so drawn in and so sucked into that role and character that they don't even realize they themselves are changing due to that role. There's something serious in that. It really touches on many different issues in a family dynamic like that.
Vera Farmiga is such a gorgeous human being, she's me and my mom's absolute favourite actress after we binge watched Bates Motel a few years ago, we literally watched all her movies after that and loved her even more, a true scream queen 😄
@@englishatheart Your wording is still all over the place, and considering your other comments you keep whining about men and women. Get a life. I do, and my comment should help you. If you don’t understand what I mean, I mean you should realize you need a life.
9:16 A tender memorial to the child that they lost Safe to say I wasn't expecting "Living Plant Girl" in a robotic voice to come after that XD Edit: I have since listened to "Living Dead Girl" by Rob Zombie and now realised that this was a joke which flew way over my head XD
It's easy to forget how young Esther's actress is since she says some crazy lines and does some messed up stuff. It's a weird and interesting experience.
James, the only guy I know that can summarize a movie while slipping in a few jokes about it, their sponsor, and the background of the movie all in under 30 minutes.
Yeah, I'd say my only real problem with this movie is John's gullibility goes from annoying but believable to downright infuriating. Maybe I can buy he'd never fully buy into the psycho theory, but he definitely should have been at the very least suspicious of Esther by the car crash. Other than that, this movie is fantastic, IMO.
This is one of my girlfriend's favorites. This is the first one that she tried to show me to get into horror so this movie is special to me. I really wanted to email you to cover this James but I was to nervous to so I'm very happy to see that you did anyway. Love the work from everyone and I would love to see you cover the prequel if you do!
Isabelle Firman absolutely sells the movie. She plays such an emotional and almost sympathetic villain. She’s cruel and manipulative, but she just wants to be loved the same as anyone else. I actually really enjoyed this movie.
This was one of the first horror movies I discovered when I was first getting into horror, and I was obsessed with it. I loved The Hunger Games as a teenager, and Isabelle Fuhrman was magic as Clove, and when I discovered her in this movie I became an even bigger fan. She is incredibly talented. Edit: I also cannot overstate how much Wolf Creek got me into horror. I AM SO EXCITED I'VE BEEN EMAILING JAMES ABOUT IT SO MUCH. only like 3 times. BUT STILL.
I think that Isabelle is such an underrated actress. She was only 11-12 when filming the original Orphan and she had these moments where she was absolutely adorable and then she was so intimidating the next second. Not even in a horror movie way, but just in a dramatic way based on how she carries herself. Reminds me of Slavitza Jovan (who played Gozer in Ghostbusters) in that she’s a very beautiful person and yet she knows how to own a room and can intimidate someone in about two seconds. Not even just that, but the fact that she, a child at this time, was so good at learning and speaking in an Estonian accent. This is always gonna be one of my favorite horror films.
the mother slapping the ground after finding john's dead body really is relatable on my end- I get slappy when I have a panic attack or on the verge one so I could just feel the anxiety- nicely done
I really loved this movie as a kid, it was scary to think about someone around my age being able to kill me like any other horror villian, the twist also shook me the first time I watched it. I adore this movie
The twist I definitely didn’t see coming. This really is a great horror movie that most general audiences I think forgot about over the years. It’s always nice to see something so different come out!
So glad we got a kill count for this! And as soon as you mentioned your golden machete for this one, I went “he’s not gonna give a dull machete, the kills were too good!”
I absolutely loved this movie when I was younger, I’m so excited that there’s gonna be a prequel, I hope it doesn’t disappoint cause it’s got a lot to live up to!
The poster/cover art for this always used to creep me out. I saw it about a year ago finally and loved it. The cast is great. It would be neat to see you cover other killer kid movies, like Bad Seed, The Good Son, or the absolutely wild ride that is Mikey.
Did you know that the poster/cover art isn't actually a real photo of Isabelle? The reason it's so creepy is because of this (taken from IMDB): The subtle uneasiness of the film's poster is due to the image of Esther's face. It is perfectly symmetrical. Half of her face has been mirrored to form a whole face (notice the identical twists of hair on each side).
James, the script for this episode was one of your best ever. The puns and references were hilarious, and also that Christopher Walken in 'The Dead Zone' bit? Exceptional.
I genuinely thought they hired a different actress to play Esther after she takes off the makeup, they did a really good job with making her look older,
In defense of John, I think the broken arm scene is the tipping point for where he has to chose between his kids and his wife. It would be nearly impossible to believe that Esther broke her own arm - I’m still in shock and I SAW it - and breaking a child’s arm is clearly over a line, even if his wife is struggling. Esther’s a master manipulator, and the only actual evidence of abuse he’s seen is from Tricia AGAINST Esther. It’s a lose-lose.
True! I don’t think he even falls into top 100 shitty horror husbands. I loved John because he put his kids over (what he thought was) a crazed, relapsed, unstable wife. I think that’s super admirable
Respectfully disagree man lol just recently rewatched & John was literally the worst, a gaslighting dummy (not to sound too harsh😅😂) sorry but homie’s first red flag should’ve been when Esther wanted to sleep next to him on the first night (any grown man with sense would note this- may I remind you he literally just had a boner 30 seconds before), but then he also dismisses EVERYTHING Esther does but finds everyyy opportunity to belittle and minimize Kate & her worries. Even when the nun tries to warn him, he’s like well that doesn’t mean Esther pushed this girl who was bullying her 😵💫Dude was just waayyy too invested in a little girl he JUST met, it’s my one kinda gripe with the film cus it’s borderline unrealistically aloof the only way the character kindve works tho is by him being a douche who’s so disconnected from his family and what’s actually going on (I wish they played this up more like maybe he too focused on work & just doesn’t care) but either way- WOOF💀
The cottagecore joke KILLED me lmao it’s so accurate down to the ESTHetic handle Edit: the quips In this whole episode were fire 🔥 also this was one of the first horror movies I ever saw back in 2012 and I loved it! That twist made me SO uncomfortable especially cause I was around “Esther”’s age (I was 13)
I always loved how well this story was crafted. It does an amazing job making the viewer uncomfortable with this "child" acting far too mature for her age. It's especially uncomfortable to see her attempt to seduce the father near the end of the movie. I know a lot of people that think this movie crossed too many lines, but I personally think that's what makes it such a great horror movie. Horror doesn't just mean it has to be scary, a good horror movie should make you so uncomfortable that you don't know how to react. It's also very rare for me to compliment a child actor's performance, and Isabelle definitely deserves an award for this incredible performance.
I remember finding this movie in a box full of free movies at my local church, and boy was I happy to get and see this movie! Wasn’t expecting it to be so good!
Who else caught his Call of Duty reference with Shadows of Evil? Damn James you stepped your game up in a big way. My love for these Kill Counts only grows fonder with every watch. Thank you!
I really thought the ribbons were gonna support her head like in the red ribbon campfire story, they did so good at subverting expectations. Not only in that regard, but also the fact that pretty much everything that happened was shocking and was the opposite of what I thought would happen.
I love how James(during the manscaped ad) he puts a sticky note with the word "salad" on it on his burger 😂 also that "to the numbers" bit was pretty funny

@@coolnerdlll6053 You noticed her too! I felt bad she didn't have more screen time there...
Oh wow, I love this take. I never thought of it that way
I also think she may have been fed more/better with American families- thus keeping on enough weight to look like she has natural pre-puberty ‘baby-fat’. That’s the main difference that throws me off in what I see of first kill- she doesn’t have the same look as a child whose body is ACTUALLY retaining weight in anticipation of a growth spurt.

Esther took the term “looks can be deceiving” to an entirely different level. It was frightening how manipulative and smart she was until the end.
And now for the part where you get all the likes because there is no justice in this world.

Esther's back story is very creepy.
I know ur comment is gonna blow up like it usually does so first.
I mean she is an old ass adult so smart yes I expected that.
James's ability to subtly slip in puns, references, jokes, etc. one by one like it's nothing is really impressive.
super easy barely an inconvenience
I thought he kinda went overboard on this one tbh but I did like the "3 weeks later" adam Sandler reference and the nun jokes
The Jessica Rose shaodows of evil reference was the most unexpected for me lmao. I love James' ability to make references smoother than butter.
“They get an unCONVENTional visit from the sister.”

I also wonder what on earth Esther would have even said to a therapist in one single meeting that would cause her to reach the conclusions she did
Its a movie !
Therapist: *puts a hand on Kate's shoulder* "Kate, I respect you a lot and I care for your well-being, and with all of that I say, you should consider taking a break from your husband till things feel right again."
Translation: girl, leave his cheating, gaslighting ass rn you deserve better.

@@InitialPC cool, although I think it won’t get a kill count because only one person dies
Wow. James was on a roll this whole video, hilarious puns left and right.
That outro was gold to lol
8:56 I can't get over how beautifully this scene is shot, the perspective is so well done here.
The therapist is from Dexter series, she also didn't get who was the 'friendly' Dexter either and thought he was nice, love that XD
one of the first horror films that ever caught me completely off guard! i don't hear enough people talk about it, and can't wait for the sequel!
Prequel
1. Well done James on remembering to wear your wedding ring
2. So happy to see Wolf Creek is being done next week. Gotta be one of my favourites
I forget, when is the Chucky franchise recount happening? Just so I remember
@@miketrapper0464 Starts the Sunday after Wolf Creek airs.
@@michaelgallinari3022 ah okay thanks
James, the script for this episode was one of your best ever. The puns and references were hilarious, and also that Christopher Walken in 'The Dead Zone' bit? Exceptional.
I loved the pester Ester line
riiiiiiggghhhttt???
Idk no offense but most of the puns and references didn’t land for me
@@miketrapper0464 like you didn't get them or you didn't think they were good?
@@unequalized a bit of both
I genuinely thought they hired a different actress to play Esther after she takes off the makeup, they did a really good job with making her look older,
I just found out that there's gonna be an Orphan prequel, so this coming out a day before I found out is hilarious to me
I screamed out loud when I seen the news on Twitter
Dear James, Chelsea & all the rest of the team:
You guys rock big time. All the hard work you do certainly pays off.
Best wishes from Buenos Aires!
Legend
In defense of John, I think the broken arm scene is the tipping point for where he has to chose between his kids and his wife. It would be nearly impossible to believe that Esther broke her own arm - I’m still in shock and I SAW it - and breaking a child’s arm is clearly over a line, even if his wife is struggling. Esther’s a master manipulator, and the only actual evidence of abuse he’s seen is from Tricia AGAINST Esther. It’s a lose-lose.
Agreed. I think James is being a little too harsh on John.
Of course james calls john an asshole because muh straight white man
Glad I’m not the only one who thought he wasn’t that bad.
As someone who was adopted myself, whenever I was taunted about it as a child, my response was always "your parents GOT you. My parents CHOSE me."
The cottagecore joke KILLED me lmao it’s so accurate down to the ESTHetic handle
Edit: the quips In this whole episode were fire 🔥 also this was one of the first horror movies I ever saw back in 2012 and I loved it! That twist made me SO uncomfortable especially cause I was around “Esther”’s age (I was 13)
19:53 I am BEGGING for this to become a reaction meme. I want this on stan Twitter yesterday!
I Watched this movie when I was WAY to young. The plot twist left 7 year old me flabbergasted
Ah yes, “milf-guarding.” My favorite advanced fighting game tech. But you gotta watch out for “zaddy counters.”
Haha
I remember finding this movie in a box full of free movies at my local church, and boy was I happy to get and see this movie! Wasn’t expecting it to be so good!
Coincidence? I think NOT
24:28 I had a feeling you was gonna do that james
Who else caught his Call of Duty reference with Shadows of Evil? Damn James you stepped your game up in a big way. My love for these Kill Counts only grows fonder with every watch. Thank you!
I was so angry that nobody else was getting this. thank you
He also references jessica rose
Zombies kill count (not even everything, just one) or we riot.
The “living plant girl” was so good, I’m a hard core rob zombie fan, and I approve, good work bro
Hi five, lord of Salem! lml
For you lil Uzi a rob zombie poster. REEEEEE
Bro it was so silly but great
@@makart5273 what?
@@august6604 It’s a naurwar interview quote
I really thought the ribbons were gonna support her head like in the red ribbon campfire story, they did so good at subverting expectations. Not only in that regard, but also the fact that pretty much everything that happened was shocking and was the opposite of what I thought would happen.
I was thinking its gonna some child of the devil story. Was amazed at the twist and the young girls performance.
Margo Martindale blended so well into her role that I didn't even realize that it was the famous character actor Margo Martindale
I think of bojack horseman whenever she comes up.
What is this, a crossover episode?
"Good luck finding the infinite abyss..of death!" -- God, I love the subtle wordplay. That was a fantastic reference to Garden State.
Isabella deserved all the praise for this role and this movie had one of the most unexpected twists ever.
The cast was vital for this movie to work!
Everyone commits 110% and we needed the strong acting rom Farmiga and fuhrman to do the characters justice
I love how James(during the manscaped ad) he puts a sticky note with the word "salad" on it on his burger 😂 also that "to the numbers" bit was pretty funny
Honestly I wish I could watch this film for the first time all over again, I mean it’s THAT good, and I will never get over the twist.
