Idk if youre still on this account, but i wanted to see reviews of the game on the original hardware cuz i got it on nintendo switch. The game is a grade C/D Gears of War but Fps, the gameplay is nice and tight in the other hand. The writing for the story and the jokes are too repetitive its kind of unbearable at times kind of cringeworthy but that was the popular "humor" at the time of its release. I got it for 8 having a blast and id have even a better time if i could turn off the character voices. Overall a nice/ not so great game
Honestly, IGN reviewed this game similarly, but I don't get the fuss. I understand these are probably computer geeks who are reviewing these games, but Christ, grow a pair, my four year old niece has bigger huevos. "It's crass...maybe you should turn down your volume." When you read a book, do you jump to the end? IGN didn't get this and neither does Gamespot. These are supposed to be military personnel, not fast food restaurant employees. I was in the Army for 8 years and these simulated dialogues brought it all back for me. The raunchy talk and sexual banter is a way for soldiers to keep it light, take their minds off what they are doing or about to do, and get on with their day, maybe even with a smile on their face. Otherwise, they might just slit their fucking wrists after eating in the god forsaken mess hall. Yep, I guess I agree, it's a bit sophomoric, but it's conversations are more genuine then most war games portray. Thankfully, they don't show the other harsh realities of being a soldier, though they do address them, again, much to the makers credit. War games are fun, too fun sometimes, and they often make fun or too light of a subject that is in actuality far too horrific for words and levity. It is nice to have a game remind us that it isn't all bang, bang, kiss, kiss. I played the shit out of this game, and only have a few comments in the red. All in all, I'd give Bulletstorm a huge 8.5, 9. Gameplay was incredibly smooth and fun. Many thanks to People Can Fly and Epic Games, I'll be playing this one over and over and over. first time i played this game... the second i finished it, the first thing i did was google to see if they had a sequel in mind lol.... love this game. most underated game ever... true story isny much and the dialogue is over the top... but that's the fun part :D if i wanted good epic stories, id watch a movie, read a novel or play a diff game... but some times u just need those over the top games to ahve some good old fashion fun ^^
To anyone wondering, I have a couple things to say about this game: - The length of bulletstorm is about 12 hours, assuming you like to "admire the scenery" a bit more than usual... - The multiplayer (as said), has only one mode (anarchy) and I agree, it tends to get a bit boring after a few waves... - To me there was no major bugs in the game, it went on smoothly WITHOUT a patch! - TBH, bulletstorm is great in several ways, but the story is way too short, there couldve been tons of more action
That's Steve Blum that does the voice acting. He does the voice for Spike in Cowboy Beebop. He does the voice for Shishio in Kenshin. He does the voice for Amon in Legend of Korra. That's his newest role. The show is new about 4 episodes aired so far, you can watch it on Nickleodeon.

Yes "People can fly" is making the new Gears of war game, which just means it might be delayed awhile in the making. But more worryingly is that 3 of the founding members and lead designers have left the studio, which makes me wonder if Bulletstorm 2 will be anything like the whip-weilding shotgun to the nut exploding slugfest awesomeness that the first game was

@iTzMattz In borderlands and/or GoW you can slingshot people with a whip type thing and kick them into oblivion, all while being rewarded for doing it in the most creative way?
just use the chain gun, it makes it easier cause right after you kill all the bugs the chaingun runs out of battery. I just finished the campaign on very hard yesterday not long after commenting on your comment

@KingStar0624 Black ops is a interactive movie with almost no gamplay, the game hold your hand so tight and tell you everything you need to do and even what buttons to press and when to press them. This game have alot of gamplay where you deside on how to kill your enemies, and there is a ton of ways to do it.
No replay value and crazy fun ,in the same sentence? ... This game had tons of replay value ,from epic dialogues to sick skill-shots and more, not to mention it was incredibly fun. Heck i rate I've returned for at least 2-3 full play thoughts and will probably return once again. This game is truly a gem ,a very under-appreciated gem. Best game of 2011 alongside portal 2 I.M.O
I think Kevin is wrong here, in one point: This game is VERY artful.. the enviroments are colorful and beautiful... It's like a fantasy world - except full of mutants and crazies :D One of the best FPS's of recent memory. People Can Fly (Painkiller -games, which I love) kick ass, and EPIC's design adds some nice spice to the game. You LOL throughout the entire campaign, and it's not just shooting people on the ground all the time. Plus there's a lot of cutscenes and dialogue. 9/10 for me.
@Samoutuomas I have to agree with you. Art is apart of my everyday life, from playing musical instruments to sketching and painting. Even though the backgrounds in Bulletstorm are not a cohesive part of the environments as a whole and more of a 2-D backdrop, the art work is absolutely beautiful. I need to find a Bulletstorm art book that I can buy. BTW, I didn't think I would like this game and I ended up loving it!

I don't expect this to get an answer, but I decided to play my PS3 version of Bulletstorm today and to my horror I have discovered that the textures have gone to hell! Has anyone else experienced this or knows what is wrong and if so, does anyone know a fix?
Funny, the guy speaking at 1:33 (that's the first good face shot you get of him) is voiced by a guy who has voiced Wolverine in several shows and games. And the character actually looks a little like Wolverine too..I highly doubt that could just be a coincidence, the character designer must have been an X-Men fan :D
@ImmortalinHim77 I don't know, I don't own Black ops. I think that they fixed it so you can do that, but if they don't you have to be online to play with bots, and if you have xbox live you must pay for a gold account to play with bots. I really don't get why they did that.

I hope that Gears of War Judgment will turn out a fiasco so that People Can Fly and Epic turn their ear to us and revive Bulletstorm to give us a sequel.Don't get me wrong,I loved the Gears of War series,but the way they changed things in it,really makes me slam it to the ground.That's why I'm seeing Judgment as a necessarly evil so that,maybe,one day we could see Bulletstorm 2 on the shelves.

This game looks nice, but it just doesn't dethrone CoD and Halo. Simply making fun of something isn't enough - you need to have gameplay and/or multiplayer that will keep people playing for years on end.
Bulletstorm...i'm pretty sure that a few months ago this was a game that was about a meteorologist investigating killer plants. They must have realised how stupid that idea was.

This game was a total surprise for me. I was expecting a mediocre "old school" shooter with shitty gameplay and boring dialogue. What I got was balls-to-the-walls action, satisfying as hell weaponry and actually kinda likeable characters (not Ishi, he sucks). An excellent stress reliever. I give it a solid recommendation.

overrated af all hype. Im pretty sure this shit was post Skyrim. So there really was no excuse for this ps2 game.

i've played two hours into this game now and i'm actually not annoyed by the dialogues at all. i find them entertaining actually. am i the only one?
I would not have even noticed most of the swearing in the game if i had not seen people complain about it on the internet so much.

One thing that I like about this game is the boss battles. Not enough FPS games have boss fights these days.

Easiest game to beat but so fun when you get the controls and tricks.
