i've owned this game since its release and never played past the first level... until tonight. i just spent about 8 hours kicking ass in that fuckin nanosuit and had to force myself to stop around 7:20am. i can't believe i never put any time into this before now, and i'm kinda glad cause it's all brand new. Beautiful game and figuring out the powers is addicting. You can approach the battles any way you think to go about it. i've gone through whole sections full stealth mode, like Predator in the city and whole other fights just guns blazing, power armor, like a human tank. Possibly the best shooter (and best looking, by far) i've played on the 360.
at the last seen of this video i hit the x button and that scene repeated at first i thought it was suppose to happen like the suit was messing with my brain or something then i got up and my gun was moving everywhere and when i aimed down the sight it was wobbling across the entire screen but it fixed it self in about a minute or two
@teza789 My friend do you know that the PS3 has an option that you can tweak to increase the graphics, let me explain once you turn on the PS3 and you log in, you can go into the Settings and choose Display Settings, next thing you do is you highlight RGB HDMI and you switch the option from Limited to FULL doing this will increase the color's, next you go to Superwhites and you change the settings from OFF to ON which increases the brightness of the games and further enhancing the picture.
So many memories with Crysis 2 , loved playing it on the Xbox 360 👏👏👏 loved the menu theme from Hans Zimmer, used to sit and listen to it for so long 🎶
I actually found the ai to be surprisingly good on higher dificulties. Every once and a while you'll find a cell dude just standing around, but the way enemies come looking for you if you make a noise, or shoot a flare up for back up. I've even seen enemies realise their screwed and turn around and just start running. These guys re grouped with their squad and ended up owning me later. Overall, i'm seriously impressed with this game.
Great review, I really enjoy how Gamestop doesn't put a big number rating in the video reviews, because the review speaks for itself. It doesn't resort to putting "DUURRR 9/10"
@lilsparkyx14 Xbox 360 and PS3 has their ups and downs. As for exclusive games, I have to say they are tied. Xbox 360 has Halo and Gears as PS3 has Uncharted, Resistance, and my personal favorite Valkyria Chronicles(didn't add Mass Effect to the 360 exclusive since Mass Effect 2 is now on PS3 as well). As for the online community, I played on both and the community wasn't all that different to me. On a side note, didn't Xbox Live went down during 2008 during Christmas.Correct me if I'm wrong
@hardrockerbuilder no its not short at all. Its a pretty long game. The campaign starts a little slow but slowly things really decide to pull together.
Is this game buggy? I have 2 guns (ranged scar and OSG-1) ammo says full when I try to replentish yet they are empty and I cannot fire them. I approach a resupply case and it does not let me pick up any more ammo not does it let me pick up a different gun lying right next to it? So I apparently have full ammo and no way to shoot or pick up a gun that works.
This was a nice break from the average modern warfare shooters we have today. Aside from the bugs and crappy framerates on consoles, this was somewhat of a minor modern masterpiece.
@Barderoth Kinda heard Crysis before but wasn't really dying to to play it. When I heard Crysis 2 comin out on consoles, the first thing that came to my mind was "Nice, maybe I can finally play an FPS that's not lacking on Singleplayer." Red Dead Redemption was kinda a surprise for me to win Game of the Year. It was good but I wasn't really that into it.
@roadkill1001 what are 'dumbed down graphics' exactly? did you just randomly use ''dumbed down' in that sentence because you heard someone else use it in a different context, then foolishly thought it applied to this?
Hey everyone I am in the process of making a community based montage and I am looking for clips. They can be from anyone from and CoD just send me your clip(s) and if I use it you would be given the proper credit like you channel being linked in the description etc Thanks, Jon
@marapici Tough choice. I think if you are looking for competitive online multiplayer go with Killzone 3. If you want a single player campaign that has alot of different play options pick up crysis 2. Killzone's singleplayer is great but kind of short. This game has more content for the campaign.
im not gunna lie, the first cod and the scond and the fourth were arguably the best games of their time. but now they seem like re runs with a few more guns and an almost gimmicky money system. if it had a completly destructable enviroment this would be the best game ever for many years to come
I have to say that while in the video the AI looks stupid, but when I was playing this game on the PC, the enemy AI was A LOT smarter, they knew how to flank me and was much more aware when I stealth killed. I assume it deals with the difference in CPU between X360 and PC.
I agree with the comment about cycris not being as good as killzones MP. When I play Crysis 2 MP it feels like I'm playing a COD/Halo hybrid. When I play killzone 3 MP I feel like I'm playing Killzone 3 MP. Both are amazing games and this is just my own opinion. I have a lot of fun with crysis 2 MP but I really enjoy how Killzone 3 does not feel like any other FPS MP.
@lilsparkyx14 What makes consoles so good for gaming is the fact that consoles are specifically designed for gaming, so you don't have to worry about specs and buying a super expensive PC to run games well on. Besides, there are less and less PC exclusives these days, so i'm not really convinced to buy a crazy-expensive PC just to play well the few exclusives that it has, which didn't really care about in the first place.
If bugs you mean enemies dying because they fell by them selves, appear out of no where, get stuck on the roof, walk into walls, rocket launcher won't reload, and a slight aiming problem... then no. I wish I could play multi-player, but looks like everyone abandon that.
I would go with either Crysis 2, Far Cry 3, or Battlefield 3, to narrow it down. But considering that Crysis 2 is a bit older and less expensive, I would go with either Far Cry 3 or Battlefield 3. Battlefield 3 is really hard but a blast to play! Far Cry 3 is an amazing looking game and is so much fun with all the exploring you can do. And the story is great too! I would go with Far Cry 3, but that's not to say all these other games aren't good. I just think Far Cry 3 might be your best option.
@RuinHD Bigger market. Personally, I agree with them. The graphics still look great, and they can *potentially* triple the sales by also making it for consoles.
farcry 3, or spec ops: the line. I would say battlefield but 4 is coming out sometime this or early next year so yeah. Spec ops: the line is something different, and really makes you think about what you are doing even playing the game. Its an interesting experience and I would recommend it to anybody
@JimJamBimBam1 The idea of thermoptic camouflage has been around for long time. I have no idea why people associate it with Halo. It was also in the japanese anime, Ghost in the Shell and in the game Metal Gear Solid. And, like you said, in Predator.
One of the most annoying things about Crysis 2 was sprinting needing energy. I can't defend myself with armors mode because I WANTED TO GET TO MY OBJECTIVE FASTER!
@Darthdude963 What system did you have? I got the game on release too and it was so many people online even when i got on at like 3am, i was pretty much promised a good game. Plus the campaign was good and it looked AMAZING online and off.
Farcry 3 for a fun single player experience and a good story, Crysis 2 for an epic storyline + singleplayer gameplay (mutiplayer is decent, but not great), and Battlefield 3 for the best mutiplayer experience. My best advice is: Pirate Farcry 3, buy either Crysis 2 or BF3 :)
@brendude95 I never said you where lying, I just asked what PC you had - so what are the specs then? and what resolution do you play on? I'm genuinely interested.
Hello Madhawan111, do you still find a good amount of people playing this game online??, I'm planing to buy it but I'm not sure if I'm gonna find people to play with...
@123INFLAMES666: Sometimes they do have a separate platform score, so I assumed Crysis will be the same. Its not as unbelievably ridiculous as you may think.
@bachiboy18 no there are some levels where you can go into buildings but you can go on some roof tops and different viewpoints where you can handle the mission's situation
Game is amazing. Don't play on the easiest mode and you will get more than 10 hrs out of the campaign. And the only reason it seems slower in the beginning is because the difficulty and scale of battles is set to give you a little time to become accustomed to the suit. Trust me, best fps campaign I've played since Halo first release. Also the second play-through is even better than the first as by then you will have mastered the control and tactical option system.
I think you're playing wrong. If you're a sneaking SOB, then you'll have plenty of ammo and weapons laying around... and bug you when you're looking for something else and their indicators block you. Go for head hots, stealth kills, bombs, or just wait for the aliens and other enemies to take themselves out and go for the lucky that lived. The only time that happens near the end on the floating... The only warning is multi-player isn't playable with the lack of players.
"It goes for pure authenticity, so you may not be wowed by the art design, but you will be wowed by the technical aspects" Ah ok, so it's perfectly allright to walk around city hall seeing giant serpent-like machines sticking out of the ground
I have to say that after putting a good 24 hrs into the multi player and beating the single player twice it is the best FPS I have have ever played. My only 2 compaints are framerate and occaisonally stupid AI. Besides that no problems. If you havent picked this up already I highly suggest doing so.
to me it actually took about six and a half hours to finish the game but the end is so epic that i didn't understood because all the crup going around you
why is it that no matter what video it is, as long as it has to do with video games, there is always someone trying to stage their opinon on which console is better, as fact?
I have had a few problems with AI at lower difficulties, but at high difficulty, the AI is downright brutal. I've been flanked, rushed, and straight up hit with grenades
Why so many people hate this game.I have it for ps3 and I love it.The story is great and its like a free roam game with parkour moves totally recommaned it .But some Framerate problem.
I've played Crysis 1, and I have to say: changing the jungle to urban environment is a mistake, the jungle was it's party piece, they ought to have made at least one map in the jungle. And the aliens look "cheap" and "cheesy", and the humans try to take your suit away instead of fighting the aliens?
After seeing the review, it really dissapoints me that there are a lot of bugs, and a frame rate issues... After the game was delays, I expected it to be near perfect is these aspects. I think I'll wait with this one.
interesting they didnt bring up the ps3 as having more issues than other platforms, instead they said that all platforms had thier issues. maybe ign is being a little harsh when it comes to the ps3 version of crysis 2
@vballdude123 Well It currently has Lag issues on the 360 Online and a ton of minor and major bugs. Also the weapon balance Is scrambled, Another SMG dominant game again. If you're going to get it I'd advise renting before buying.
@UltimateHibz I know they sometimes give different scores but I have never seen them doing separate video review just for different platform. And i don't think that pc version is that different that it would deserve it's own review
@NoRulesYT yeah i hate how they said NOTHING negative about portal 2 and gave it a 9.5 out of 10.. probably because it shoots portals instead of bullets
This game is amazing. The multiplayer is better than Killzone 3 because you can actually control your aim. If someone is going to flame me - don't. I don't like Killzone 2 or 3. If Killzone had a bit more aim assist to make up for its wonky controls or something I'd probably play it.
@TheLonDonE they arent going to make a remake of the first one because that was built for a pc... there is a reason why they made this one set in the city. the city is alittle more cramped and although the environments are open, they arent nearly as open as the jungles of Crysis 1. crysis one was overall a better game, but it wouldnt work on consoles because they can't take it (consoles run on cry engine 3, which is actually weaker than the pc's cry engine 2)
i've owned this game since its release and never played past the first level... until tonight. i just spent about 8 hours kicking ass in that fuckin nanosuit and had to force myself to stop around 7:20am. i can't believe i never put any time into this before now, and i'm kinda glad cause it's all brand new. Possibly the best shooter (and best looking, by far) i've played on the 360.
This was me during Crysis 3 after never having played any of them. I just purchased Crysis 2 so I hope it's just as good.
at the last seen of this video i hit the x button and that scene repeated at first i thought it was suppose to happen like the suit was messing with my brain or something then i got up and my gun was moving everywhere and when i aimed down the sight it was wobbling across the entire screen but it fixed it self in about a minute or two
Crysis 2 is the best! Amazing sountrack as well
Bubi is it really you?
what do you mean?
BubiGaming From wolfenstein.
it's me :-)
BubiGaming Holy shit I don't even know what to say.

Great game! Amazing gameplay and atmosphere!
Almost as amazing as Kevin Vanord's beautiful bear body. 🤤

better than call of duty

Great review, I really enjoy how Gamestop doesn't put a big number rating in the video reviews, because the review speaks for itself. It doesn't resort to putting "DUURRR 9/10"
@dereklikesstuff speed is still there. it comes automatically when you start to run. You don´t have to switch modes but it still costs energy.
@snoopdoggydogg94 i meant that the xbox was more orientated towards gaming, but now they are both multimedia gaming consoles
Its odd Motorstorm 3 (couldn't spell it) got delayed cause of its utter descruction of a city (with Japan's earthquake) and this didn't?
@lilsparkyx14

@d4rfnad3r Was it the first game ever to have cloaking? I thought there were some earlier games that had that...
Up to you. Target has it on sale for $20. That's a steal to me considering Crytek's pedigree.
I agree with the comment about cycris not being as good as killzones MP. When I play Crysis 2 MP it feels like I'm playing a COD/Halo hybrid. Crysis 2
Mass Effect 3
Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Uncharted 3
Duke Nukem Forever
Max Payne 3
Guild Wars 2 (if we're really lucky!)
Gooooooood year.
did somebody had a weird bug that you couldn't melee at all??? completed the game last week and it was a blast...
Thinking about buying this and trying to get into it, since Crytec announced Crysis 3, about how long is the campaign anyway?
@lilsparkyx14 What makes consoles so good for gaming is the fact that consoles are specifically designed for gaming, so you don't have to worry about specs and buying a super expensive PC to run games well on. @MaxDorval prty sure the blak ops campaign was only like 6-7 hours depending on difficulty settings so thats pretty decent campaign length imo!
I have been thinking about getting this game. Is the campaign long and epic? Or is it short and 7 missions long like Homefront?
Battlefield 3 if you can pay online with friends, Farcry 3 if you what an fun and long single player experience.
I would go with either Crysis 2, Far Cry 3, or Battlefield 3, to narrow it down. But considering that Crysis 2 is a bit older and less expensive, I would go with either Far Cry 3 or Battlefield 3. I don't know why the guy was unimpressed with the AI, this game had some of the best AI ive seen in a game.

wtf killzone 3 is the exact same as killzone 2 to me, this is a breath of fresh air for consoles!
yep any version. it's just a matter of preference on how you game. thanks for the reply.
@gamingrocks100 do you know if crysis 2 or bulletstorm got a long campaign? cus i wanna get one of them
@brendude95 I never said you where lying, I just asked what PC you had - so what are the specs then? and what resolution do you play on? I'm genuinely interested.
If I complete the game, and if I do the missions except different difficulty will I still have all the Suit Models that I bought before hand?
Hello Madhawan111, do you still find a good amount of people playing this game online??, I'm planing to buy it but I'm not sure if I'm gonna find people to play with...

I'm hearing the fps drops to 30 is this true? Does it affect the game to the point of unplayable?
for the love of god, the 'h' is silent in the word vehicle ;_;
I think you're playing wrong. If you're a sneaking SOB, then you'll have plenty of ammo and weapons laying around... and bug you when you're looking for something else and their indicators block you. Should I get Crysis 2, Far Cry 3, Spec Ops: The Line, Mirror's Edge, Dishonoured or Battlefield 3 for my birthday?
wasn't the first crysis game setting in the Philippines?
"It goes for pure authenticity, so you may not be wowed by the art design, but you will be wowed by the technical aspects" Ah ok, so it's perfectly allright to walk around city hall seeing giant serpent-like machines sticking out of the ground
if you die by the soldiers in this game does it show them stripping the suit off of you? i'm just wondering that would be a pretty cool animation
How the F*** GameSpot gave this game a 8.5/10 Score !?
This is one of the best and beautiful games of this decade !
9.5/10 is More Likely !
I have to say that after putting a good 24 hrs into the multi player and beating the single player twice it is the best FPS I have have ever played. My only 2 compaints are framerate and occaisonally stupid AI. Besides that no problems. If you havent picked this up already I highly suggest doing so.
This suit makes me more than a soldier, it makes me a BADASS soldier.
Need some help on selecting games to buy!! Grand turismo 5 or Crysis 2 for PS3?
to me it actually took about six and a half hours to finish the game but the end is so epic that i didn't understood because all the crup going around you
why is it that no matter what video it is, as long as it has to do with video games, there is always someone trying to stage their opinon on which console is better, as fact?
@MEGADETHTHRETH I think its kind of implied that if it is good on consoles, it's at least 10x better on pc
any version or does it have to be a certain version
Congrats to Kevin for getting in shape. Hope that's not bc of health problems. You are great as a reviewer and a presenter.
I have had a few problems with AI at lower difficulties, but at high difficulty, the AI is downright brutal. I've been flanked, rushed, and straight up hit with grenades
Gamespot, your'e FN fast.
My question is - how long is the game and does it has a replay value?
If so, I'm ordering it tomorrow.
@brendude95 what about those wired Xbox360 controllers that can be used on PC? can they work on Crysis 2?
This suite makes me more than a soldier, it makes me a BADASS soldier.
Crysis 2 & Vanquish are the 2 shooters of last year that had blown up & shot everyother out of the war game waters...
Will this storyline make sense if i havent played the first one????
@vespers119 it is Xbox360 gameplay and the ps3 looks just the same, it is good. The demos were MP this is SP, therefore better graphics.
The only glitch I encountered was that a few enemies walked in place. That was it. This game has ruined other first person shooters for me.
when the soldiers kill you is there an animation of them taking the suit from you?
Why so many people hate this game.I have it for ps3 and I love it.The story is great and its like a free roam game with parkour moves totally recommaned it .But some Framerate problem.
@Barderoth Now that you mentioned it, I will try it out. Thanks for the heads up!! :)
@9mmStudios K, thanks, still debating weather to get it or not, I have a crappy connection to Live.
@Locc0Glocc bf3 is ages away man, if you have a good pc this is a must buy (:
cant wait to play it on eyefinity ^^
@Ooze27 doesn't matter. the MP graphics were terrible. i know the SP graphics are usually a bit better, but that was just horrible.
I think the Gamespot review score was, well, more spot- on. The AI just felt off and the first half was just rotten.
@NowhereMan8521 I guess that sounds fair, 5 hours for COD and 5 days for Crysis, L.A. Noire took me about the same time.
@vballdude123 Well It currently has Lag issues on the 360 Online and a ton of minor and major bugs.
Also the weapon balance Is scrambled, Another SMG dominant game again.
If you're going to get it I'd advise renting before buying.
If had had that suit I don't think I'd even want a gun.
@UltimateHibz Why would they do separate review just for PC? PC version probably just has better graphics
they should add a Horde Mode which lets you defend a certain area against aliens...
and NO, im not talking bout a halo game mode... XP
@UltimateHibz I know they sometimes give different scores but I have never seen them doing separate video review just for different platform. And i don't think that pc version is that different that it would deserve it's own review
@NoRulesYT yeah i hate how they said NOTHING negative about portal 2 and gave it a 9.5 out of 10.. probably because it shoots portals instead of bullets
most talk about the campaign, not suprising considering the current state of the multiplayer online right now.
This game is amazing. The multiplayer is better than Killzone 3 because you can actually control your aim. If someone is going to flame me - don't. I don't like Killzone 2 or 3. If Killzone had a bit more aim assist to make up for its wonky controls or something I'd probably play it.

I didn't have any problem at all while playing this game ...........no bugs no nothing .....it's awesome
@BKVisionFreePerView I'd advise you get Killzone, The PS3 version has alot of Framerate issues, I'd advise you rent it before buying C2.
