Gearbox removed the weapon limitations in the remaster, but only after you unlock additional modes that allow you to carry everything. Still tho, it has regenerated health which sucks.

Fun Fact: A game very similar to both Bulletstorm and Painkiller, called NecroVision, was released sometime after Painkiller utilizing its engine. NecroVision is an FPS set during WW1, but it quickly spirals into chaos with ghosts, mechs, vampires, and demons, and it's an absolute blast to play. It's also pretty unique as it has a combo system, which was pretty unheard of in games at that time, especially for an FPS. If you enjoyed Bulletstorm or Painkiller, or enjoy combo-based games like Devil May Cry or God of War, I would highly recommend NecroVision.

Played the original around when it came out i have absolutely no clue what the story was about again but the gameplay is a lot of fun. Good for pointing out the 2 weapon limit that became so ingrained and i think it would've been a lot better if you had all the weapons. Imagine if Bulletstorm came out after the Doom 2016 / eternal games and they learned those lessons.

After that, I played through the game 4 or 5 times over the years, it was so damn enjoyable. I would play the VR port, but I hear it's kinda ass and, with how lazy Borderlands 2 VR is, I'm not really that surprised, but definitely disappointed

You should review all 3 Stalker games before you do Stalker 2.
    Start like this:
    Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl
    Stalker Clear Sky
    Stalker Call of Pripyat
While the lore chronological order is this:
    Stalker Clear Sky
    Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl
    Stalker Call of Pripyat
Or maybe try Rimworld. Best game but will cost you an arm, leg, 5 kidneys, and 4 lungs.

My guess is that it just looked generic for 2011 standards. I mean, when you just look at it, it seems like a mix of Gears of War and Call of Duty, and that was generic as hell for that time, too many games were trying to replicate that style.

The first time I played bulletstorm was when it was a free playstation plus game, and I only played briefly as I wasn't interested in fps games at the time. I later got it on switch and enjoyed it, but I just got used to using gyro aiming and I had to readjust to without it. I bought the game once again for my steam deck, so I can re-experience the game at 60fps and with gyro. I don't think I would've gave this game a chance if it wasn't for my nephew who played this game when he was young and suggested me to try it out originally.

  • @Dragonhannes
    @Dragonhannes 3 месяца назад

I got each version when it came out (except VR) and I love it. Sure, the story isn't that serious but that's exactly why it is so fun. Turn off your brain and enjoy. People Can Fly as a developer never disappointed me in terms of visuals and gameplay and blood/splatter (I have to admit). They only got bad decisions forced onto them by publishers. Especially two things I disliked. 1. That they main focus went to Fortnite (ok, makes money I guess but it will the only game of them I don't play) and 2. The deal with Square Enix on Outriders. No one can tell that the Dev's wanted it to be that way for the servers and Net-Code.
By the way, if you find the gameplay of Outriders monotonous, than you weren't trying out the completely different playstyles the game offered, even within one Class ;)
But guess what, that video made me re-download Bulletstorm, so let's get creative in killing the enemies 😅 (that sounds so bad out of context 😂)

Played the 2011, original release variant on playstation. Reminded me a bit of MADWORLD with the "points for creative kills" and well... that concept jived well with me - still does, but I sorta want to see more like these, two afformentioned titles (MADWORLD and Bulletstorm). Too tired of the "Spectecle"-fighter/killer genre that is Devil May Cry, back then.

The duke wasnt even free he was payed dlc. They had such an aversion to adding content to a near full price remaster. They put the main bait to buying an expensive remaster behind another paywall.
Also they managed to fumble to great franchises at once. The terrible market practise doomed what could of been a financially successful remaster, Killing a sequel chance. While dukes corpse was just shamefully puppeted around for a fumbled ploy to get some extra money. Which also failed and killed any flicker of an idea of a duke sequel.
Plus funfact the ps4 version is not labelled on the side of the box. The xbox one version has the lable but not the the ps4. How did they fuck that up its obviously not a styistic choice or else it would be the same. Its not a unique error for mine course ive seen others like it.
Gearbox sucks stop sitting on the duke ip after doom eternal skyrocketed the boomer shooter gerne nows the time to bring it back. Both of them they wont flop if you dont do something incredibly stupid.

I played Bulletstorm last in… Middle school? Early early high school? I have vivid memories of playing through the game multiple times. One memory that sticks out is me playing the part of the game where the giant follows you around the diorama area in the city where you go backstage. I remember that it was either a Sunday night or a school night since I remember having to essentially time myself so that Id go to bed on time. It was a fun game. Sucks that it ended on a cliffhanger. But it seems people are becoming more aware of the game after they remastered it recently.
Had some funny social commentary that I didnt pick up on before of how the gauntlet was an official military device and rewarded soldiers for being as brutally violent and creative in their kills as possible. Essentially making fun of how much people in the military can glorify violence for entertainment.
While I do wish we got to see more of the crew before they all died but Ish and the main guy, I did enjoy my time with the characters. I really liked the tomboy character you meet up with later in the story. They did make Ish a great character because he essentially died/is dying because of the actions of the main character. He played well off of the goofy MC
