- In this weeks episode, we visit a wonderful young family who have built their dream off-the-grid tiny house on wheels. There are so many advantages to DIY building a tiny house beyond just the cost. You get to put your heart, soul and character into a house to truly make it your own and that's exactly what's happened with this home.
Dan And Julie have built this beautiful home for themselves and their two children. All throughout this build there are many examples of ultra-clever design ideas, including a huge loft net to access the children's bedroom and the ability to create a fully secured kid-safe loft. This really is a fantastic design for a young family!
In this case, the family worked closely together with a builder to design and construct a lock-up house shell. This is a popular option for DIY builders, as it allows the structural part of the home to be professionally constructed, while still giving them all the freedom to build the interior fit-out by themselves.
This tiny house is also designed to be completely off-the-grid, allowing the family many options for places to park up their home in the future.

This is the first tiny home that seemed to take extra safety precautions to accommodate their small children. I love how the safety net doubles as a trampoline. If I was that little kid, I would be in heaven!

True. You can see that the home has a lot of their personality built into it, and not just a modern showroom that they think other people will like and approve of.
This tiny has such a different aura from the other ones. The atmosphere is incredible. It feels like something out of storybook, like a toy house or like something out of Narnia, or Enid Blyton's Wishing Chair and Faraway Tree. It's difficult to put into words .. I think becos that green color is amazingly soothing yet playful to the senses. It definitely feels old, but also magical. I won't be too surprise if elves came out to play at night!
Because it doesn't look modernized like the other houses that have been featured.

I generally agree. They seem like first couple (in this series) to take the basic tiny home and merge it with the style similar to aesthetic of the couples in the old school bus, 40's railway car, and Gypsy caravan's. I love it!

I love the art of the house. He seems like such a great father. When the kids living in tiny homes grow up I would like them to be interviewed on their experience. Would they choose that for their own family.
Yes, I agree that Dan is so in touch with his child's spirit that he understands what she needs spiritually.
And I would love to see what the children would choose as well.
It's so nice to watch one of these videos and feel like both partners truly collaborated with their tastes in mind and the idea/hope of expanding their family. I often watch this channel and strongly feel like one partner had more of a say over the other regarding design, structure, arrangement, etc, but this feels like a family home that will allow their kids to be kids as they grow and I really appreciate that.
The loft net and being able to block off the staircase creates a huge play space for the children. I think their hard work will pay off in the years to come re: low or no mortgage payments and quality time with their children.

It’s awesome for a few years-maybe 5-10 more years. The kids are going to outgrow that space, though. Kids grow up much faster than you ever think. Maybe they’ll get another small trailer for a bedroom for the kids if they still want to stay with the tiny.
I like the idea of having professionals build the structure and then DIY detailing.
Yeah! It takes a lot of the stress out of the build, you know it's structurally sound and water tight, and you can let your creativity out on the interior fit-out.

Greetings from california. im 22 and have been watching this channel for the longest time. I finally have a good paying job as an armed security guard and am finally committed to this tiny house lifestyle. I plan on building myself my own tiny home and one for my mother on the same plot of land since shes elderly and needs me. However she has always been independennt and I dont want Her to feel like a burden to me and my life since she cant retire on her own, so shed have her own affordable living space next door to mine. i hope I can end up on this channel to inspire others like this channel has done for me.

I would LOVE to have a swing in the house, a piece of rope and a cushion - how simple is that - stuff the china there are op shops full of that stuff.
@@neridaduncan2710 I hadn’t thought of this lately, but I now appreciate that my mother let us play in the house, like put up tents in the living room (blankets over chairs) and even drag the younger children around on throw rugs. Of course we put things back when we were done.

I've seen hundreds of tiny houses and that is my favorite loft design! I love the seating bump out as well. You're automatically greeted with a very homey, colorful kitchen. It's so warm and inviting, I just love it. I love what they did with the bathroom sink, so beautiful. Also love how the green on the walls spreads to the floor. Beautiful house.

With all of the tiny home videos I watch, I'm surprised that I haven't come across this one until tonight. I absolutely love the little fort/treehouse feel of it! There are so many things about the house that mirror what I love about a living space, right down to the special touches and that super cool chest. This couple is so fun and creative! There is nearly always some boring person who makes a comment about the downvotes. No idea why you are being so judgemental - not everyone has to follow the crowd. There will have been many reasons for downvoting - it is plain dumb to make up stuff as you have done. It is probably the only one of Bryce's videos I have downvoted, but nice as the couple are, I just don't like the house and don't see why I should be accused of being a "hater" for that.

It's actually a huge tiny house, or just seems so. I've notice the conection between familiy members, they have fun (the net, swing) and they also work together (little girl helped every where she could, in the kitchen, with her father, on the garden). I love the bathroom too. In fact I love everything about it. Really cool.
