    In this video I outline how to use Timerra on Maddening in terms of classes, upgrades, passives, etc.
    This guide is aimed at the early/midgame. I will be making an advanced guide that covers emblem rings and endgame unit builds.

    Since you mentioned starting to consider DLC options, I ran the Three Houses bracelet on Timerra. The kit for Edelgarde, Dimitri and Claude gives her a lot of options. Houses Unite is a pretty generic Emblem Attack, but I get a lot of uses out of the Synced Combat Arts and the Unsynced Gambits.
    The real key is the stat boosts. At level 20 bond rank, +5 str, +4 dex, +3 def. Basically everything Timerra wants, especially if you can patch up her speed a bit. It makes her into a beast.

    Timerra is really good imo because she's a good EP unit in a game rather low on good EP units. Compared to the other tanks, she has the speed to not get doubled, no effective weapon or weaknesses, and her def isn't too high so enemies won't just ignore her. Her passive also protects nearby units. Chain attack, her crit boosting support on a bunch of powerhouses, and sandstorm are just the cherry on top.

    The spear weapon from linking your Nintendo account to FEH, Fensalyr, is also very light weight and it's stats are somewhere between steel and silver. I've used it on Chloe and Timerra and it's fantastic for both of them.

    The clear choice is general for the strawberry kiwi armor
    Jokes aside, she's gotta stay picket. She'll do poor damage otherwise. I will say, if you don't want her to hog Ike for tanking, she can use Leif and be fine. Just be sure to inherit resolve from Ike. Def +5 from resolve plus 7 less damage from Leif means that she'll be able to tank nicely. The leftover SP can go towards dex for accuracy/procs.
    Just make sure you don't leave her behind with a flier emblem team.

    I think it would be worthwhile possibly making a video on the topic of investment of units and the negatives / positives of investing in specific units over others at specific points of the game you get them. I ran Timerra with Starsphere as soon as i got her, she's learnt +5 str/dex/vit/def with 39 speed and like 42 def now, she's the best tank in the game with 40%+ chance to Sandstorm with Spear +5.

    I always give her a Dracoshield or two, both to help her with being tankier, and to increase her chunking game with Sandstorm. It seems to be the strongest of the activated skills to boot, from a raw power angle.

  • @declanm810
    @declanm810 Год назад +4

    I stand by Marth being a great endgame emblem for her. He turns her into more of a dodge tank that still has pretty great bulk, and she makes good use of the increased Str, Dex and Spd he gives. His sword engage weapons give her some non-Lance break options.
    She can proc Sandstorm on the extra attacks provided by Break Defenses and Divine Speed, so she can go wild with the new well Lance, Brave Lance on slower enemies, or Killer Lance for general use.
    She can also proc Sandstorm on Lodestar Rush (8 hits since she’s a backup unit).
    For DLC, I kinda want to try her with Hector as a Str/Def/Bld increasing emblem. While engaged he also gives +30% Def on enemy phase, and if that applies to Sandstorm it could be nutty.

    I run her on crit build with Hector and the new well spear (Brionac is amazing too), i use Spd/Tec +4 and Tech+5 with this she constently sandstorm or crit if not both, not activating one these two proc is pretty rare so i found her damage high and consistent ( Brionac base damage are so high that you don't need to proc to kill ), now they added the new dlc and spd/tec i feel like i don't really need tech+5 now, the only weak point i found is she can't recover easily by herself while dealing against magic damage, Vantage++ is great with brionac and erikia as emblem for the self heal but it doesn't look as good with Hector.

    See seems to require a bit of investment. Lv5 picket takes some time to get. At lv5 shell have at most like -20/25 dex to trigger. She is weighed down by lances. Preventing doubling. Speed investment a requirement. Ike makes her tanky but doesnt really fix her str issue. Few ring join you until chapter 17/18. Her mid game feels rough.

  • @Vinardo2
    @Vinardo2 Год назад

    I found that giving her an awakening engraved forged lance (or any engraving that lowers weight) fixes her speed issue on her starting map IMMEDIATELY. Allowing her even to double enemies fliers who got weighted down by their own silver weapons lol
    Plus she became a mix of physical bruiser and dodge tank thanks to the engraving, and inheriting resolve from Ike (since I intend on using a different emblem for her)
    Would highly recommend.

    Timerra is my favorite Sigurd carrier. I give her a little lance avoid and dual assist and with sigurds movement and lance power she is so insane. In maddening late game, she with Sigurd kinda fell off a little bit because she doesn't do enough damage but could not tank well but since I put her with a more defensive emblem, she shows her worth once again

    Shes one of the very few units that almost never gets one shot. Without Ike she still can competently take on around 3 enemies, if they aren't OP or break her. But I do think Ike is best for her as it allowes her to tank a large group solo.

      I would say both are useful and on similar level depending on the units bases and growth rate. Example Ivy has really good build but low to middling speed so she more than likely won't get doubled but won't double, so Speed+ is better for her than build. However a unit like Clanne has very high speed bases and growth however his Build is poor and bases are poor too. Bld will make him use majority heavy high damage tomes and Levin Sword easily and double quickly as forging the Levin Sword or most heavy tomes won't reduce weight.

    Probably most fun and reliable unit for enemy phasing and juggernauting a side, that being said a lot of people underrate her because of the investment she needs to hit level 5 being required and otherwise looks like a completely bad unit through and through (Similar to Anna imo)
    People will argue putting Ike on her or giving her an engraving like Lucina is too much investment over other units like Diamant Kagetsu Pannette but to be honest the only character who really needs Ike in that argument is Diamant due to the other two being able to one round consistently and Diamant just performs worse later on due to his low dex growth and cap on personal requiring engraving on every weapon you use on him.
    SP from emblems vs bond is kind of a valid argument but I consider giving an emblem ring to a unit who needs it at the moment like Timerra better due to it making the game easier for those chapters and that being a worthwhile investment over just hard investing into specific units all the time.

  • @thecupismine
    @thecupismine Год назад

    She's been talked about in every 2nd or 3rd video at this point, so I feel like I've heard all these points already😂
    I still stand by that she's almost a mid-game trainee with her noodle arm & not quite tank level defense + low build. Needing one of the very limited emblem rings you have in those chapters until she hits level 5 is a fairly large investment, and not something I'd really call low (emblem rings are the most contested resource until ~chapter 17). An off-tank who can't hit back for relevant damage early is tough to train without Miciah spam if you aren't familiar with what maddening is throwing at you, especially when the game just threw 3-4 absurdly cracked, out of the box characters in your face.
    However, with the new DLC in my second maddening play through I've softened my stance on the trainee part a bit, as that new lance you're given fixes that strength issue in an absurd way. If Chloe isn't hogging it, she's probably the best user of it with a Sigurd engraving, which clears up almost all her early game offensive issues, and once she gets Sandstorm she really starts popping off.

    • @IcedCoffeeGaming
      @IcedCoffeeGaming  Год назад +1

      I never had these issues and I've used her in 4 runs. I even deployed her late into a run to replace a bad early game unit I was running. In all of my runs I gave her a ton of statboosters on her brave lance build and the others at most she received 2 dex books which are not a contested resource.
      Without Ike she can tank 2-3 enemies and deal decent damage on upgraded steel/silver lance or go for crits on a killer lance.
      The only other unit I could think of that wants Ike during the middlegame is Goldmary or a unit that wants STR fixing, aside from that I don't really find middle game emblem rings to be a problem, most of my units perform on bond rings.

    • @justwantawholename
      @justwantawholename Год назад

      @@IcedCoffeeGaming You don't throw Ike on Panette for the biggest great aether damage?

    • @thecupismine
      @thecupismine Год назад +1

      All the other units can perform on bond rings, doesn’t make it optimal. Ike is your best physical emblem ring for a while and turns great units like Kagetsu, Merrin, Panette (to allow her to take a hit), and even Chloe into phenoms, whereas with Timmera it’s simply functional at the start.
      The SP loss on those characters from using bond rings is important too, albeit maybe not as much as it was before the well came into play.
      She has 15 strength and 18 defense without boosters or rings, and with the speed penalties from the weapons she’s not doubling much early either. On chapter 14 she can realistically tank 2 non flyers, or 1 promoted enemy, and will 2-3 RKO most enemies on an upgraded steel lance. If you’re giving her the best lance over someone like Chloe, that’s another layer of investment given Chloe is likely doing more with that lance at this point in the game.
      None of this is me saying she’s not A tier, just that the investment level without feeding her a bit before she hits level 5 is not what I’d call low. My first run I couldn’t be bothered giving her Chloe’s weapons or forging another set of steel +3 weapons right away when the game just gave me a slew of S tier characters who want good weapons. It’s similar investment to Lapis, and a lot more than Merrin/Kagetsu/Panette/Pandreo, all of whom came within the last 2 chapters.
      This run I gave her stuff though + made the investments after watching your videos and she’s been super fun to play!

      @@priestessii your point on the first point is what I was trying to articulate - the time/efficiency gains of Ike on other units like Panette early is what makes me call this a medium investment (along with extra weapons, etc.)
      The reason I mentioned Ike on the speedy units early is they don’t get anything else until after chapter 16/17 (Lucina is stapled to Alear for bonded shield and Lynn to Ivy, but that’s personal preference I guess) and increasing their sustain in the interim makes them more viable EP options with the increased defense + HP (the strength is really just a bonus).
      Not hard to get her to level 5 by chapter 17 as long as you make the investment or know the maps inside out like Iced does after a few play throughs. On playthrough 1 though I’d just be cautious on taking on too many of these investments if you don’t know all the mechanics inside out yet.

      One thing you gotta remember about Coffee's "investment" scale is that feeding some levels doesn't really seem to factor in much. This is the dude that rated Anna as "Medium" investment and Jean as "Low/Medium" investment in his tier list. Pretty much the poster children for trainee units, aka the "put a good amount of investment into me and I'll become good eventually" archetype. Anna, the axe fighter that comes with worse base stats than Boucheron, but 4+ battles later and requires an immediate second seal because she's in the wrong class line for her growths is "medium" because eventually she becomes good and doesn't require heavily forged weapons and stat boosters later.
