Dude can you imagine getting off work driving home in your muscle car with your radio cranked up all the way with your 6 x 9 speakers and your equalizer. What a time in history
It's a tribute song to Bon Scott "He drank as he wishes", everyone except Angus said🍻 Whiskey was Bon's favorite alcoholic drink to get rid of the "foxes in a forest fire"
Brian Johnson had said that 'Back in black' was a good time rock record, but admitted that he wrote the lyrics to 'Have a drink on me' as a subtle tribute to the late Bon Scott ( whom he had met when Scott's band Fraternity opened for his band Geordie in the UK, prior to AC/DC). Johnson likened the song to a wake, which is what people in England do when someone passes away... they go to the bar and have drinks to celebrate & share stories of the person's life.
@@leshgooo1016 We are talking about 'Have a drink on me' which was written by Brian Johnson, who is British. Technically, Angus and (the late) Malcolm Young are originally from Scotland. They immigrated to Australia as kids. Cliff Williams (bass) is British too... Only Phil Rudd is Australian-born.
@@sumonjamal1653 I know they were born in Scotland. What you are trying to tell me I already know lol but they are known worldwide as an Australian band. Even Mal and Angus have stated they are an Australian band and they lived there. So
Bro this is arguably one of the greatest rock albums of all time! On bad ass song after another. I was 19 when this came out. Every party I went to had this album blasting in the background!
Probably one of my favorite songs off that album. This one, let me put it love into you and shoot to thrill. Have a drink on me is a good song with some nice guitar work in it. The guitar licks and solo in it are pretty damn good, why I like it so much, than and it has Bon Scott written all over it. Highway to hell is my favorite overall album of theirs. Been in love with their music since 83 when I got their live album if you want blood you got it. That was my first introduction to them as a pre teen in the early 80's. Been listening to them ever since.
When I was in high school 1988 or 1989 they had an alcohol awareness presentation in our gymnasium, and at the beginning of the officers presentation he played this song. I still do not get it, nearly everybody in the gymnasium was like "awesome". To this day, that is the only thing from that presentation I remember.
The V C was my home bar. No phone so wives couldn't call to see if husband was there. lol Factory or mill workers shooting pool, jukebox blaring AC/DC Skanks and hot ones. Everybody knew each other and was just comforting and sort of family.
People got upset when they heard this song because of the way Bon died. But what they did not realize that the entire album, and this song are a tribute to him. It's almost like Bon is giving his OK to have a drink on him and enjoy the album.
Love your reaction to the album love your channel subscribed first time I saw it that was stevie ray Vaughn texas flood. so been here for a minute . This was such a great album. In the top 5 all time 42yrs later. That's amazing
Bars are places where people do go to be sociable. It's neutral territory where everyone can relax and talk about things. Alcohol being a suppressant, lowers people's inhibitions and they feel more able to express themselves as a result. The cost of buying drinks over a counter is always more expensive as you're paying for the overheads as well as the drink itself. I think people tend to drink faster, and more as a result, in bars due to the time limit of feeling they have to be back home by a certain time. If you drink at home then you can take your own sweet time. Anyway, back to the song...
The very 1st time I heard this song was when I was 15, in Denver, IN the back seat of a HEMI BARRACUDA, IN 1980, with girlfriend. It was my father's car, & He was none too happy, but I sure was!
Hey Biz if you're going to continue on the AC/DC streak then you'll be doing For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) next. If so listen to the title track LAST, doing so takes the album from a 10 to an 11.
Have a drink on me *(you), Bavarian style🍻😎 Sittin' here with 3 students looking for some good music on Spotify (Kiss, Bon Jovi... shit like that... on the run) -> beer crate for 4 people Then your reaction pops up Friend of mine: "What da fuq are you watching?" --> Now 4 dudes watching your reactions🤙 Keep things great✌
just taking a moment to reflect on the album cover as well. if you had the vinyl the letters AC⚡️DC were slightly raised on the cover giving an extra bit of character
You are fucking great man , my favorite reactor fo sho. Got a few suggestions of outstanding bands I believe you haven't heard .. .can I send some thoughts ? Richie , Chicago
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 GREAT review fam!!!! “I don’t go to the gym though, I’m getting fat too, damn … I gotta get my shyt together” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you are THE BEST!!!!! Love ya fam 💞💞💞 💯KBiz 💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥
That is funny, me and my friends did the same thing when this song played in the 80's but we would play it over and over and get messed up and see who would give up first!!!
its amazing how brian never wrote for geordie but joins acdc in 6 months writes the best album then goes from hell drinking and to sex to guns and hasn't written a song for them since 1989 thats believable
Sorry I’m so far behind. I’m really hoping you did a reaction to GIVIN THE DOG A BONE! I don’t think anyone has!! And a couple of Bonn Scott blues songs are EPIC. DOWN PAYMENT BLUES. And RIDE ON. Awesome bluesy songs. No one had reacted to these songs. DOWN PAYMENT BLUES, is from POWERAGE album. You can find RIDE ON on album IF YOU WANT BLOOD. And WHO MADE WHO album.
Yeah I agree Biz even tho it's still a Rippin 9.5 maybe my least liked so far , but it still Rocks So Hard , that's how good this album is when you get a 9.5 and it's your least favourite 🎸🎸😈🔔🎼🎼🔥👏 Song i heard is a tip of the hat to Bon 💔😔 great reminiscing with you to my 5th favourite album of all time , oh wait the other 4 were AC/DC's previous 4 🎸🎸😈🔥👏
Back in the 80's...we use to take a swig of beer every time they said "have a drink on me" in the song. It can get you messed up pretty quick lol.
Still do it often lol..
Those were the days…👍
Bet you took a chug and not a little swig...lol.
That sounds great! :D
I'm a hillbilly from the mtns and we still listen to this song. But we drink moonshine...and not that shit from the liquor store 😉
Dude can you imagine getting off work driving home in your muscle car with your radio cranked up all the way with your 6 x 9 speakers and your equalizer. What a time in history
Hell yeah 6 x 9s was the flex even when I was coming up in the 90s. Bad ass shit.
It's a tribute song to Bon Scott
"He drank as he wishes", everyone except Angus said🍻

That song builds and builds. Great vocals and guitar that builds.
The drums at the end though 👌

The wake thing is also an Australian thing.

This was their good bye to Bon Scott. He died of alcohol poisoning.

This one nearly led me to alcoholism. 'Tryna walk a straight line ... on sourmash & cheap wine!"
Im also 60.. listen to lots of music.. This is my #1 Album. another Mutt Lange classic
Forget about the check. We get hell to pay”. One of best lines ever
Great song
From one of ,if not the best rockn roll bands of all-time 😎
My favourite ACDC song.

Brian's belting is just dope.
The perfect drinking song.
The V C was my home bar. No phone so wives couldn't call to see if husband was there. lol Factory or mill workers shooting pool, jukebox blaring AC/DC Skanks and hot ones. Everybody knew each other and was just comforting and sort of family.
Many, many, MANY brain cells have perished from alcohol overindulgence, directly attributed to this banger for the span of 40+ years.
A song a bout the boys going out to have some drinks, good times.
My personal favorite of all AC/DC tunes for some reason. That break down halfway through, gets me every time.

You got a new sub my man. ACDC is a rabbit hole worth delving into.
"Forget about the check, we'll give hell to pay!"
One of my favorites.
Bars are where most bands come from as far as gaining experience in playing music ... 🎶
I finally got time to check Biz's take on this which is money.
The very 1st time I heard this song was when I was 15, in Denver, IN the back seat of a HEMI BARRACUDA, IN 1980, with girlfriend. It was my father's car, & He was none too happy, but I sure was!

Thank you 🙏🏿
....fantastic reaction. Oh, how I cannot wait for you to sink your teeth into the FLICK of THE SWITCH album! Sublime.
I've always thought this sounded like a song that was written & meant for Bon to sing not a tribute!
Great reaction to a band that you never will see the likes of again....
This was the best riding around the back roads in the 80s!! KSHE-95 💜
Have a drink on me *(you), Bavarian style🍻😎

You’re gonna love the next one. Shake A Leg!
Hope you are having a great week. Keep up the great work. Everyone has their own "AC-DC" mine seems to be I like most of their music before 1984.
I think that one blew your socks off! 🤣🔥

Next one is for those about to rock
@@boiledforeskin5594 I know
One of my favorite AC/DC songs. A drink, a bong hit, whatever.
Anything AC/DC is 🔥🔥🔥🔥Harder than a Rock…. Is a jam track…. Rock and Roll Train and Shot in the Dark…. All the way off the hook…. ✌️😎
Great one bro!
It's a social thing Biz.
This has always been my favorite - and "Rosie" (my moms name was Rose)
Yezir 🖤👍
Great album Biz. Hard to pick a favorite song but this one is mine.
My favorite track from this album is Let Me Put My Love Into You

Cheers

Having a drink while listening to Have a Drink on Me!🤘🏼
Let me just say CHEERS 🍻
You could have some friends over at your house, pour them a drink and then say, have a drink on me. It wouldn't have to be in a bar.
You must react to "Love Song" something not very typical for AC/DC...
It’s about the V potna. Lol
Time for a new one Biz, let's shake leg, you feel me?
Shake a leg next, yaaaaa buddddy
Yo biz. Anotha one. 🔥
🥰🎶🥰🎶
Wouldnt surprise me if this was about sex. Gettin girls to guzzle down a shot of love!!

Fore Bon Scott
A bar often has live music. It always has women.
idk how they did it, grimy riffs for like 50 albums straight or whatever. Insanity
They put Mickey's in u're mix drink to get u fucked up faster
Dang thats messed up
Salut Bon
You want FN GROOVE. Look no further
Come on..........
Bon wrote this obviously. What good lyric has Brian ever written.
Get stoned!!
