    The entire Back in Black album front to back is outstanding a straight up rock and roll party band from Australia. Also the lead singer is a replacement singer for their original singer Bon Scott he had passed away and this was their return album hence the name Back in Black. I was in 6-7th grade.

  • @photobyrob
    @photobyrob Год назад +12

    There’s two eras of AC/DC and this is the start of the second era. They started in Australia in the early 70’s. They had 11-12 albums before this: the album before this is Highway to Hell and it was the one that launched them in the US. But on a break during that tour the lead singer, Bonn Scott died after a night on hard drinking. That was 1979. A year later they released Back in Black with this new lead singer, Brian Johnson. This album is epic bc no one had ever been able to come back with a new singer like this and just crush it the way this album does. The first single released was Hells Bells. This is the Summer of 1980…no social media, no internet. Nobody know what to expect or what was coming. I was 15 and away at a Summer camp when I tuned in to a transistor radio to hear for the first time Hells Bells. When I see you guys hearing these songs for the first time and reacting, it takes me right back to that camp dorm when I first heard that bell ring out of that little radio. Amazing! From this album you should check out Hells Bells and Shoot to Thrill. From the Bonn Scott era a classic to try is Riff Raff live at the Apollo around 1976 or ‘77 (in Ireland/Scotland..not the one on Harlem). When they started they were barely out of high school and Angus was looking for some kind of a schtick or signature look and he settled in his school uniform. His brother, Malcolm played the rhythm guitar and wrote most of the songs. Once when an interviewer asked him what he thought of being considered one of the best guitar players in the world, he commented that he wasn’t even the best player in his family😂. They last video they released was in 2020 for the song, Through the Mists of Time. It’s emotional for someone like me who has listened to and loved their music since I was a teenager, hearing it when it was first released.

Bon Scott's sound, his theatrics and loaded sexual powder keg swagger was unlike any frontman in the country. They always brought the party. Hit after hit. Getting better faster. They were always in the news.
    And then he was gone.
    Collectively we thought the party was over too. Then later that year a new album dropped. Back in Black. I remember watching this, its first time on national TV. Live at River Plate,Buenos Aires,Argentina.
    HUGE crowd going crazy,they are something else that crowd.
    AC/DC are even better live,saw them at donington all those years ago and it’s still one of the best rock gigs I’ve ever seen.

    it is fun - if you watch people listening first time to an ACDC song, they smile. Because - honestly - either you smile because they are so good or you are already dead. Period.

    I was in 10th grade in high school when this lp was released, it was an absolute MONSTER. Everyone had this record, the parking lot rang out with every tune from this classic for the entire year. Every song a classic.

    I prefer the earlier AC/DC with the original vocalist, but there's no denying how great the Back in Black album is. It's flawless.
    There's a funk rock band from the '70s called Mother's Finest that y'all should listen to. Check out the song Baby Love. They're still touring. If they come your way, do yourself a favor and go see them.

    I am 61 years old - was lucky enough to be listening to AC/DC from my early teens to now - I am pretty sure this was released as a bit of a tribute to Bon Scott the original lead singer after his death and the introduction of Brian the lead singer here - did love Brian but my early love of this band was with Bon Scott. Another iconic Australian bands in the same period of time which were just as iconic but not known around the world like AD/DC was Cold Chisel with lead singer Jimmy Barnes (my favorite singer all time) - do yourself a favour and have a listen to 'Bow River' Ringside version live by Cold Chisel - It is completely fire.

    Went to see them at THE ROSEMONT HORIZON in CHICAGO Back in the Mid 80's. And ANGUS, The Lead Guitarist has Worn the School Boy outfit since the Beginning! But for The Show That Night, IDK why!? He Came out in Jean's, and a Red Tee Shirt! The Crowd BOOOED Him off Stage! 20 minutes Later, He returned to the Stage Dressed in His School Boy Clothes! And Then we were Ready to ROCK!! 🎶❤️

    ACDC have been around since the mid-seventies... their first singer was Bon Scott, who died in '79. Brian Johnson took over singer spot and was intro'd in '80 with "Back in Black".
