Best winter camping video I’ve watched in a long time. I’m 70 so my camping days are well and truly long gone, but apart from the risky use of your gas stove in the tent a very interesting video, many thanks Mike
Thanks so much, I appreciate that! Haha I do get a lot of stick for using my stove in my tent.. I guess I may have to learn the hard way! I just find the flame is very controllable and especially in cold temps like that, if careful, I don't see a significant risk. Thanks for watching! Happy holidays
Have to agree the use of the stove in the tent is not very good, better to use it in the porch. This is the first time i have came across a video of yours and have to say i will be checking the others out. I have to say that the way you rethought the following days hike and to not go any further was spot on, not worth the risk especially being alone. I see that you could not put the front guys out due to the ground being hard which would have been much better if you could have as would have pulled inner tent from fly more, i would have used a couple big rocks from the stream to tie the guy around as it was not windy. I love being out in the elements and the snow is really enjoyable. Im wanting to get out more and make some videos on here myself, injured my ankle a couple years almost and then just not had the time to get out Really enjoyed the video and the way you come across in it. subbed your channel. All the best to you
Eze submersible style, wet boot to boot, re hydrating meals as a warm pouch.....i'm quite impressed with that little shelter, it has endured some adverse weather :)
haha thanks buddy!! That shelter is impressive, I know that if big wind kicked up, it may fail but if the wind is ok, I think it's an amazing one for the value!
Great adventure Eze. It got very real with so much snow. Your way of analysing and planning through the situation was a lesson to we the inexperienced snow campers. Thanks man.

Hey there Eze!! This was pretty hair raising for me for sure! It was also just really pretty as well! I have reynauds syndrome so when I saw you take a dip in that water on day one I took a deep breath in! And then when you were crossing that stream barefoot only to be standing in snow to get your socks and boots back on!! Yikes!!! I bet you've never been so happy to see a flock of sheep in your life! If worse came to worse you could snuggle up with a couple of sheep! This was definitely a ringing endorsement for your tent there! My goodness! Great adventure and glad you made it out safe! Take care sir and hope the drive out wasn't too bad! NQU
Thanks so much buddy !! Cold water therapy for the win! Yes loved seeing the sheep haha they looked temptingly fluffy too! Drive was good except for one bit when the car swerved, quite scary but luckily no damage at all
Another excellent video. I'd love to see what you took in the way of batteries. Lots of video, time lapse, drone flying, book reading and video watching.
Thank you! I actually took only power bank 20,000 mAh, and came back with over 60% charge still on it! The gopro batteries were dying very quickly due to cold. Took two fully charged drone batteries too.
Wow that was a bit extreme eze. The views were stunning covered in all that snow. Think I may of been slightly worried all up there on my lonesome lol. I can’t imagine how beautiful that sky was on that first nights clear sky. Glad u only had to contend with one wet foot and leg 😂 maxx

I did a similar camp last winter, minus 9 and snow. Lovely. But best to have some foil insulation under your floor. The mountains always look good in the snow on a blue sky day.
Hey mate, love your content! Can't wait to see this channel get the attention it deserves. I've got a suggestion for a lovely river in the north England if you're interested. There's a river called the Ure that has some amazing rapids and scenery. The navigable stretch is from around Ripon all the way to the point it becomes the river Ouse then further down it becomes tidal. It's easier to run in spate but can still be run with a bit of wading during the dryer months. There's some awkward access agreements about getting in further upstream than Ripon but if you're not worried about random anglers getting moody then it can be done and is totally worth it!
Thanks Daniel I appreciate the kind words! And thanks so much for that trip, sounds awesome! Will have to look into this! Have you done this trip before? What kind of class rapids? Thanks so much buddy!
@@EzeAdventurer So I haven't run this river myself yet but I will be from the 16th to the 19th :D! I have some friends who regularly run the Ripon to York stretch and generally there's only class 1 and 2 rapids (mostly just within 10km of Ripon, then mostly flatwater) but it feels a bit more dicey with more flow. Further upstream passed Ripon it can get a bit technical and depending on flow you can see some class 3 and 4 rapids Best of luck mate!

"everyone will die, but not everyone will live". I'm sure you've had amazing time on your bikes, shared with friends. No idea where I'm going next. scared to even hint at adventure to my wife lol
Big fan of your work Eze, you’ve certainly inspired me to follow in similar footsteps to you! Can I ask - what is the app you showed that gives you the hill contours in the map?
Thanks buddy! I’m using OS Maps there ! I think you have to pay a bit bit but well worth it. Also recently using GAIA, liking it. You need the premium version to download offline I believe but you can also download sat images for offline use with Gaia which is sick

Hey there Eze! Happy New Year! Hope you and yours are healthy and happy! Just wondering if you have heard from adventure is made(Matt)? He hasn't posted in quite some time. Take care. NQU
@@EzeAdventurer oh man!! I hope he's getting better! Those can be scary. Good to hear about everything else. And good hear from you as always. Take care. NQU
Lovely scenery. I just cringed every time I watched you operate your stove inside your tent. You should see how fast giant holes will develop if the fire hits the tent wall. Your tent is so important to keep intact out there. Maybe invest in a single wall tent with a generous vestibule for the future? Good call on protecting your water filter and staying well fueled for warmth.
Haha yeah I've been using it inside my tent for a long time now, I feel pretty safe with it.. I think it looks closer than it really is on the video. You're right that it's prob best to do it outside, but can't resist the comfort lol... I guess it will take one of those events to "teach" me one way or another ! Thanks for watching!
Only 17:13 minutes into the video. I would suggest getting a ground sheet for your tent to protect the floor from punctures. Looking forward to watching the rest of your video!
Thanks Michael, you're right but I've been using the tent without a groundsheet for ages now and find it's not worth the extra weight to carry the groundsheet.. long term prob will end up with a couple of holes at some point but that's ok with me
@@EzeAdventurer an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. it's easier to stop something from happening in the first place than to repair the damage after it has happened. Just my 2 cents. I enjoy your videos very much.
Thanks buddy you're right, but I don't see a tent floor rip / hole being very critical / dangerous (as opposed to say the rain fly!). I totally get where you're coming from, for me it's not a priority and worth leaving the groundsheet behind to save the weight. Bear in mind when you're filming, space and weight skyrocket with tripod, battery banks, camera, drone, controllers, etc! puts a bit of pressure on what is defined as "essential" . thanks for the support buddy! much love!@@michaelbroyer3918

"everyone will die, but not everyone will live". I'm sure you've had amazing time on your bikes, shared with friends. No idea where I'm going next. scared to even hint at adventure to my wife lol
@@EzeAdventurer Ah yes got to keep the Boss smiling, Happy wife, Happy life! 👍😃
lOVE YOUR WORK. Please buy some decent tent pegs.
Yes definitely agree, thank you!
Love you video's bro
Thank you!!!
very nice vid. 🙂
Thank you! 😃
Really enjoyed that and was gutted not to be up myself for the snow event. Glad you had a great trip and experience. New sub fro me.
Thanks so much buddy, hopefully will be another opportunity to get out there in the snow!
I love how you casually walk around in god-forsaken mountains screaming yes sir! :D
hahaha it's honestly THE BEST!!! The snow was soooo beautiful !!!!
Im wanting to get out more and make some videos on here myself, injured my ankle a couple years almost and then just not had the time to get out
Really enjoyed the video and the way you come across in it. subbed your channel.
All the best to you
thanks for the sub buddy! Appreciate it!
Good point re the guy lines offering more support, I was thinking of the wind alone and it slipped my mind!
Hope you get out there asap mate!
Hey there Eze! Happy New Year! Hope you and yours are healthy and happy!
Just wondering if you have heard from adventure is made(Matt)? He hasn't posted in quite some time.
Take care.

Hey mate!
Yeah he's good buddy just very busy with his life :-)
We almost got out a couple of week go together but he got a chest infection :-(
@@EzeAdventurer oh man!!
Amazing video! What river is that? I would love to wild swim there!
That's the river Esk! would be perfect for that mate
"I have to make good decisions." --proceeds to immediately intentionally go neck-deep in 1 degree water
LOLLLL good summary

The MSR groundhog tent stakes are the best IMO.
Thanks Alan I need to look into those, have you tested them in frozen ground conditions before?
@@EzeAdventurer
Yes. In frozen ground and in granite gravel (which is extremely hard) and I was able to pound them in. I think I’ve only bent one or two in the many years I’ve used them
wow that's V impressive will add them to the wish list ! thank you for tiger hot tip!!!@@alanbierhoff6831
Walking poles make tricky stream crossings so much safer 🫣
Definitely would have been a good addition on this one
Suggestion: hiking poles
Good idea!
We love you, but next time be prepared!
We think of you as Canadian.
Thank you
Thanks! I feel a little (a lot) Canadian!
