I like this idea very much. About 1.5 months ago, I purchased an indoor potty that is similar but plastic. I like it OK, but wish I had something better such as what you have built. Truthfully, I'd like it plummed into my sewage drain indoors because I am disabled, and getting outdoors, especially in a New England winter is not helpful to my health...but maybe I can figure out a way...Thank you and many blessings! From me and my 4.5-month-old Golden Retriever. :)
How do you only have 4000 subscribers after posting this video? This is going to save my sanity. Thank you so much. And that puppy is freaking adorable.
this really worked great for people man it was quick but you showed everything, lol i didnt need the messurments cause im gonna do custom but im glad you did that for people
Muy buen diseño lo unico que tendria que cambiar seria en ves del tapete y las placas metalicas colocar abono y un tapete de pasto natural estubo muy bueno el tutorial mil gracias
Thanks man. Been looking for the best possible build for my apartment dwelling English mastiff and I think this structure is the one that will hold his weight. I appreciate you!
I do think I’ll have to change it up a little bit and use more bolts than screws but I’ve been struggling on the mechanics for a while. The slanted plywood was the missing link.
Great work mang! Followed your instructions and built one this past weekend (shrunk to 2 feet by 4 feet due to space, and subbed in real rolled turf), with drainage and everything. Thanks for the video!
@@willhall7777 Not really. Under the turf is a piece of black drainage cloth (not sure what the proper name for it is), that keeps the dirt particles out.
Hola, excelente video, te recomiendo tambien forrar los bordes superiores de la madera, ya que algunos perros suelen orinar casi en la orilla y la madera podría llegar a humedecerse
This is the best DIY porch/deck potty I've seen! Thank you for the details and showing instructions on exactly how you built this. I do not have these tools so would have to hire someone to build it for me. My 2 rescues are older, my yard is always muddy so this would work great on my deck. Would be great if you sold a kit to make this potty! I can definitely screw things together, but cutting the wood isn't possible for me. Thanks for a great video!
Thank you for this! I am currently building this for our upcoming puppy, and I would like to stress the idea of CHECKING THE POND LINER AND TUBING BEFORE BUILDING THE REST!!! Although I did exactly what the instructions are shown, the bottom leaked big time because of points of failure in those areas. I had to cut a hole underneath and fish for the problem and ended up having to add more liner underneath the porch and creating new holes, etc. Still waiting for the sealant to dry and hopefully this time it will be water tight.
That’s great!!!! We need to figure out something Minnesota I get so cold our dog can’t make it back up the steps from going potty outside. We have to figure out a way to have it set up downstairs but easy to clean no smell.
I'm going to give it a shot. I'll have the "low rent" version. Lol! That's plywood propped up on bricks with an old comforter stapled to it. That should work. 😁😆🤣
I need to build one. I'm thinking 60X36 inch fiberglass or plastic shower pan for the base. Its low profile and and the slope and drain port is built in. It could even be plumed into the house drain.
So 2 years after this video was made, how did it hold up? Is there anything you would have done differently? I'm building one right now. Literally about to glue down the pond liner.
Absolutely brilliant, thank you! I'm moving to a 3rd floor flat soon with my big doggo and have been looking for a DIY balcony solution just incase she needs to go out in the night 💚
Awesome work. Best video on this. I already did mine but I couldn't think of any better ideas to make mine better. This absolutely helps. Thank you for uploading!
hi! i just had a few questions :) 1. how thick is the plywood you’re using 2. do you have a recommendation for the best type/brand artificial turf? 3. do you have a recommendation for the type of steel mesh you would use or another material instead of the 16x32 one you have? my inner dimensions are 57inx33in thank you so much!
@@myssnoel8496 haven't gotten a response from him-- just realized it's been a few weeks--I ended getting turf from a company called Smart Turf but I heard PetGrow is an ok as well. and got 1/4 inch plywood -- most likely going to just get a peg board from home depot or lowes
Absolutely AMAZING! I enjoyed every minuet of this. I would still have to pay someone to do this for me. If you ever go into the "Potty Porch" business, let us know!
This was my thought…. Last winter I used the fake grass on the deck … and after a while it smelled so bad; I. Had to replace the grass after a few months…. So this is a great idea… I would just make sure that you could remove the grass after a while.
Great build!! Quick question though… wouldnt the wood holding the peg board rot over time due to the pee? Would it have been possible to wrap those pieces up with the pond wrap?
Good Job Sir! Only thing I would suggest, which i'm fairly certain you already figured out, is that you probably shouldn't screw in the turf and then cover the access to the screws with the top board! Also I would recommend a different brand of tools ;) But overall it looks great! gonna be making one myself this weekend, thanks for the pointers
Impressive workmanship and very clever method. What would be the disadvantage of just filling the box with turf, soil and plant actual grass in it? Wouldn't it work as well? I love the little furry quality control officer at the end.
Watching this in 2023 just reminds me of how much time we had in 2020.
I've been searching for a DIY dog potty and this one has the best design and most practical.
The video editing is as impressive as the actual build. Thank you for taking the time to make this
thanks, sir. I built this to spec this week, this is the best porch potty box tutorial out there!
Imagine doing all this work to set this up and they refuse to pee on it 😂😂😂 you did a fantastic job!
Great idea! My next step is to get my wood shop tools purchased.

This looks fantastic & the end when your boy does his business made me chuckle
I love that the puppy went right on it after. Well done!
Gorgeous build even without all the extra finishing touches!
This is like watching a master carpenter, very impressive! I would love to get an update on how puppy grew into his porch potty.
Great stuff! The façade and finishing takes it to the next level
well done! even finishing proof it works! I love men like this.
You make it look so easy! Especially drilling the holes
i love the lunch break 😍 and the idea, it´s great
Thanks Caleb! That is so practical! And it looked finished 👍 beautiful job!

OMG! this is so brilliant. I truly could used one.
Perfect for winter extremely cold season or even I mean on a bad rainy day. Brilliant

Wow! I thought it was done when it got to the deck! Then it went and got even better. 👏🏽
Awesome! I see a small red hydrant as a future upgrade. Very cute dog.
Brilliant layout. Excellent job!
Love everything about this! Pure brilliance awesome video….

Do you have any problems with the drain hose getting clogged with the real turf? Any particles clogging it?
@@willhall7777 Not really. Under the turf is a piece of black drainage cloth (not sure what the proper name for it is), that keeps the dirt particles out.
Thumbs up just for that adorable puppy alone! Mad skills & much respect!👍🏻

Lowes can cut for you. It is like a $1 a cut after you two free cuts

Really nice. We are definitely going to copy your plan! We will need a hydrant or a planter for our leg lifter to aim at.

Súper bueno tu video....😉😁😉😁😉😁👏👏👏👏👏
Excellent work, super well thought out drainage and waterproofing
This puppy is precious
Ive been looking for awhile to build one. Never though about using the wall organizers. Great idea!
This is awesome, man. I bought one from the company. If this all works, I may have to invest some carpentry tools and follow video. Nicely done!
this is amazing Caleb! Subscribed!
Omg! He’s like ok I did good let’s PLAY NOWWWW! 🥰

Great idea can you please list the sizes of materials
Awesome idea 💡
I’m going to be spending more money on the tools lol but great video wish I seen this before I got my little guy
Beautiful work! My courtyard is paved with no drainage, so the premise is great, but what happens when it rains?

Where can I buy those aluminum panels??
