This is her anti-suic!de song, ''befor I make the offering'' as I give up, I remember all the ppl I've seen and place that I've been... I FEEL the light'' that is for me me the most powerfull line, not only seeing the light but feeling the light, from inside, the spark that make you choose to stay.

Great reaction to this beautiful performance, Saeed! I feel like you nailed the meaning pretty much, about going through some stuff, and coming out on the other side. The only thing you missed was that Aurora wasn't talking about herself, as she rarely does in her songwriting. She's just very empathetic towards the world around her, and when she reads or hears about someone struggling, she really feels it, and is inspired to write about it. Especially early in her career, when she said she was more into tears than applause.

    3:00 some nerdy intel:
most of Norway has the rolling R, so you are pronouncing it the most typical way (more or less...).
However, in the southwest - the area she is from - they usually use the french R (it moved all the way up there from France in the late 18th century).
So she uses the french R when pronouncing her name.

At an early age, she experienced the loss of several loved ones. When a close friend of her family died on Christmas, 11-year-old Aurora had to witness everyone dejected at the funeral service. When a friend from her sign language class died in a car accident in 2014, Aurora performed a currently unreleased song titled "Why Did You Go a Place?" during a private concert for her funeral.A friend from Os also died by suicide, and another friend with whom Aurora had a relationship died in 2011 at the Utøja massacre at the age of 17. Aurora wrote the song "Little Boy in the Grass" as a tribute to the latter and the other victims of the massacre.

      @Holgerdansk 6 месяцев назад +3

You are also right and it was not my intention to correct you. More a little more info about Aurora.
I think one of Aurora's gifts ( or curses ) is that she can empathize with people and their stories. But some of the stories she then discovers bring discomfort or pain with them, which she then turns into music and lyrics to process them. "To get it out of the system." as she once told in an interview. But who are we to allow ourselves to tell what is going on in Aurora's own personality... or what we think is going on. Only she herself knows that. 😉

That is so funny I read a comment saying that you didn't like school....Aurora says that she didn't like school and she still doesn't like it. LOL!!!! If you like a capella, Aurora does "Tiny Desk" and it is acapella...she has done some other songs just as a demonstration that she is the one singing without any aids.
Aurora is actually very quirky and funny. Fun music as well as very enlightening interviews....straightforward, engaged, honest and blunt. She is a natural entertainer as well. She spent her free time in a huge forest right outside of her home. She wouldn't come home until she was called. If she didn't come home they put a bell up and that help but it wasn't enough. She didn't even hear the bell sometimes so then they had to send her older sisters out to get her. Aurora never had any intention on being a singer/recording artist. When she was in school one day she was supposed to have written a paper and she forgot to do it so she wrote a song. She told the teacher and then the teacher asked her to sing the song, so she did. Little did anyone know but one of her classmates recorded the song and then put it on social media. Some record producers saw it and ended up approaching her to ask her for a record deal. She said no. Afterwards her mother talked to her and said that her music made people feel good/better. She said that was kind of like a medicine and that if Aurora could make some people feel better wouldn't it be kind of selfish to just keep it to "herself". She also said that if she did try it and didn't like it she could always just quit. So aurora thought about it and decided to try it. It was very very difficult for her because she is a private person and didn't like people being too close to her...hugging her....that kind of thing. She wasn't into being surrounded by a lot of people either. So she did 200 appearances in her 1st year and she was worn out. She took a break and went back home. She took the time to think about what she wanted to do and she decided to go back and this time she had a better idea of what she would do and how to stick to what she wanted to do and not let anybody change who she was and her vision. She also learned when to give in a little. She is true to herself and not a sell out. That is what makes her so special...other than her personality..brilliance, witt, being able to laugh at herself during live performances and being totally engaged with the audience. You would never guess that she was a person that wasn't social at all and very self protective. She would rather be in a forest all day, 7 days a week. Her interviews are very enlightening as well as entertaining. There really is nobody else like her. Her lack of fitting into a category or 2 or even 3.... That is what makes her so entertaining.
Here are some of her songs:
All Soft Inside ruclips.net/video/IS2iVcGz_Ok/видео.html This was described by a reactor as a “Kaleidoscope” (which is really as perfect of a word as I would ever think about this song….One of my favorites)
Exhale Inhale ruclips.net/video/hJcIVes-6r4/видео.html This is just a beautiful song on a set that is just really awesome to watch and listen to.
Cure for Me ruclips.net/video/K17df81RL9Y/видео.html This is a video where it is a total performance oriented video. Costumes, other dancers and of course Aurora. It is fun and catchy….actually the little dance that Aurora does is being done by fans in various countries around the world.
Warduna Aurora stepped in to fill in a space to help. It is in Norwegin I believe. Very cool sounding song. Was part of “The Vikings” t.v. show as well ruclips.net/video/uoYgReFWq2c/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/dDhEHzmbwug/видео.html Live performance The video is very very well done as well I really love the video of this though.
To be Loved ruclips.net/video/h2bjTFdezG8/видео.html This song and performance is the most different than anything else that she has done…Rather abstract, she dances a lot more and the singing is really great.
Interviews ruclips.net/video/uoYgReFWq2c/видео.html Just sample of Aurora’s authenticity, humor, total engagement during the interview, openness…..Her interviews are really something to watch to really understand that Aurora isn’t so much “performing” as she is giving us parts of herself that she (even in her short life so far) life and observations…openly and honestly. She does quite a few interviews.
Aurora is someone to be treasured by all of us. Aurora never had singing lessons, musical lessons……she does “some covers:” but the overwhelming majority of her work is written by Aurora herself. So if you want to get to know Aurora, just listen to her, watch her and accept that what she is doing is sharing herself with us. She has well over 1,000 pieces of works written, be it poems or songs.
I hope that you at least check these out because all of these are a departure from what you have listened to already. Aurora is very diverse and She can make you laugh and happy as much as she can
