• How I'm Going to Sell ... -~-
Welcome back everyone to Episode 45 of What's On My Desk (WOMD). Now, you guys know that I typically say that watches are an expensive toy but there are some exceptions to the rule; that's specifically why I flew out to LA (I'm going, going, back, back, to Cali, Cali) to meet up with vintage watch expert Bob Maron.

For both old and new collectors, if vintage watches are your thing, prepare yourself for an awesome presentation and get ready for your jaw to drop when you hear some of the prices. We'll educate you on why vintage watches today are indeed an investment, as well as the difference between vintage watches that over time have become collectibles, in comparison to the watches today that are manufactored as limited edition collectibles.
Bob Maron has been a huge mentor to me and many years ago he told me that I was going places. I'm very glad his prediction came true.
💬 Which watch blew your mind the most? And.. what do you think of our first episode in 4K?

No doubt the best video I have seen all year 👍
Collecting Vintage Watches thank you!
I've watched it phrice
I was about to write "The best video Roman has ever made" and I see this comment on the top. I don't have any choice other than to reply.
6:12 man! What a watch! I love the Bakelite. So much better with the darker richer color tones on the bezel then the reference that followed it. IMO
I honestly think this is your best video so far. Very informative and brilliant. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for the kind words
Hi Roman,
Thank you for an amazing vlog! The fact that you are a personal friend of the Buddha of the antique watch world, Mr Bob
Maron, is amazing! His knowledge and experience is amazing!
Also appreciate the fact that you personally delivered a watch, to one of your original customers. Shows your class as a person!
I look fwd to the day that I buy my first watch from you! (It will obviously be an AP). Onwards and upwards, more power to you, Brother!
Thank you for the kind words, when ever you are ready i promise I will be gentle :-)
Mr Choo this is all hear say. Just like when John Mayer accused mr Maron of selling him fake parts in vintage watches. Then John Mayer dropped the suit. There is no one better in the vintage watch game. You shouldn’t slander someone’s reputation based on hear say sir.
One of the best video for vintage watch lovers. This is definitely high end stuff !!!
Time&Money thank you
Do more of these!Def the most interesting watch video,I've seen in a while.
That guy is an encyclopedia of watches!! Incredible
Bob is an incredible wealth of knowledge, I've been following him for a long time... great vid Roman....
I can see in Roman's eyes the respect he has for Mr Maron and for good reason. I have recently stumbled upon this channel and continue to appreciate what you bring to the watch scene. All the best and cheers from Canada
I do respect Bob and all the knowledge and experience he brings, that's a fact. Glad you're enjoying the videos!
Thank you Roman for sharing this incredible experience of seeing these very special pieces..

Bob is dead on .I'm 53..bought my first used SUB FOR $500 CASH IN 1988 .I WAS A YOUNG CAR SALESMAN .
I still watch this video from time to time. Such a brilliant and absorbing discussion.
wow Roman thank you for bringing such an amazing episode. The knowledge Bob has on vintage watches is impressing. Epic like always.
Thank you Erjon
Absolutely enjoyed this episode ! Thank you Roman. Bob Maron reminds me a lot of Van Simmons (founder of PCGS)! It looks like Bob Maron is as important to horology as Van Simmons is to numismatics. Thanks again Roman.
My dream vintage watch is the Rolex day date reference 18108. That bark finish and onyx dial is just the most beautiful thing I've ever seen hands down!
Bob’s knowledge is incredible, some fascinating pieces. I’ve only just discovered your channel, it’s superb and for me the best watch channel on RUclips, it puts Hodinkee to shame. What’s criminal, is your subscriber numbers, this channel deserves to be in the hundreds of thousands, and I hope you achieve that in the future. Keep up the great work, Roman!
Roman absolutely brilliant video, thoroughly enjoyable both yourself and Bob showed your expertise wonderfully. Educated and entertained me I TWICE ! Watched the vid, then watched it again ! Thank you.

Great show. I too have military background and am an Electrical engineer and a vintage pocket watch and sometimes watch, watchmaker.
This was such a fun video to watch. Really gives me a taste for vintage pieces. Excellent job!
Thank you very much!
Just stunning. Many thanks for sharing!
Thank you Pierre
Robert is an OG, that was..... healing!!!
This is a superb video, great information from both of you. Got into the videos with the fun of the deals, the buying and selling, but this is on a different level. Not just a salesman, you have a real passion for what it is you sell. This was the most informative video I have seen on this channel. Maybe you need a separate channel but I would love to see a lot more of these. Some factory visits and interviews would be brilliant.
Great video! Learned a lot, thank you gentlemen!
that Bakelite is out of this world clean
Yeah!
Loved that!
The new G and the older G! Bob looks like a Player In a Management Position and a bit like the De Niro Bob...... Absolutely great epizod bratushka!!!!

They've been a big hit!
Best video yet man. Bob’s speech was great when he closed it out. Very genuine.
Does he keep those watches he was speaking about or does he sell them all?
We are in the business to sell of course, but he does keep an amazing personal collection of watches cars and art.

dis is the content that we need!!!
Great video Roman! Bob is an amazing guy.
thank you David
Wonderful vintage watches video with Bob Maron. Buying a rare vintage Rolex, Patek Philippe and Gerald Genta watches is a great investment. I like Bob Maron Chinese suit. Great customer care Roman.
That was a great episode. Hopefully you will get to show off some of your clients collections soon.
Will do!
Absolutely brilliant Collection of watches
Thank you
Great video! Agree. The older Rolex's are just as good as the new ones if get them in pristine condition.
somtimes they dont have to be pristine a lot fo times its about the overall character of the watch too
@@RomanSharf, yes. Some people like acquiring a watch that has shown signs of wear, scratches and all. For me,I some wear and tear is okay but would not want anything with too much scratches and damage.
Awesome episode, more of such videos please.
No problem Fenil
I enjoyed this so much!!!
Bob is truly one of the Greats
This is just a joy, Roman.
thanks Shane
Bob reminds me of Robert De Niro in casino! Great video!
AWESOME VIDEO...I have a 16800 that I purchased not knowing by accident with box & papers (one owner).
GREAT EPISODE ROMAN 🇬🇧✌️
thank you
Awesome show. Bob is such a cool guy 👌
Your best vid yet. Finally subscribed.
Thanks!
Surely ne of the best watch videos ever
Great Video Roman!
Great video, superb thank you
Really good stuff. His knowledge is amazing. I bought a date just thunderbird in 1977 for $400. Didn’t know anything then and I changed the dial to diamond markers but did not keep the original That was dumb! Still love the watch
I wish you would have kept that dial :-(
More of this guy please!
