Welcome to my second collaboration video with Adam Golden of Menta Watches. Today we're talking about the VALUE of a Vintage Rolex. The price of vintage Rolex watches varies greatly and it has a lot to do with condition and specs. As you'll see in the video, the most minute details can make the biggest difference in the value of the watch for collectors.

What makes vintage rolex watches so incomparable? As you may very well know, it depends. Rolex has been in business since 1905 (that's 115 years ago!) and in that time, they've manufactured thousands of watches each year. A lot of these differences in price are based on not only condition but also:
    - The reference number or model
    - The serial number or production number (which indicates the year it was made)
    - "SWISS" markings at 6 o'clock or “SWISS - T25” marking
    - Rolex coronet (Every Rolex reference has its own coronet)
    - Service details about the watch on the case back
    - And more
In this video, Adam and I go over quite a few watches. Some of them look pretty similar, from afar they may even appear identical. Here are some specs that exist in some the watches we present. Often times, collectors have named some of these details themselves. Have you ever heard any of these before?
    - Exclamation dial
    - Underline dial
    - Chapter ring dial
    - Red triangle insert (bezel insert)
    - JPS cherry dial
Adam was recently interviewed by GQ in an article called, "Somehow, the Vintage Watch Market Is Thriving Despite Coronavirus." Read that here:

I am not really into vintage watches, but after watching this you can't help but respect Adam's passion and think about the true breadth of knowledge you need in this corner of the market. Huge respect to both of you and please plan to do another one. Great episode, thanks for doing it!

Roman - your collaboration shows are the best. The dynamics of the two of you, plus the additional perspectives and expertises. Awesome!

This is really one of the videos that do not get "old" or "outdated". There is so much knowledge and enthusiasm - and it's really a reference point video for me regarding vintage 1675. The 1518 is a pretty nice bonus ;)

Just by coincidence I'm watching this episode wearing my beat up 16600 which closely resembles the Italian police watch. I also knew what a COMEX and exclamation dial are. I guess I'm slowly getting geeky with Rolex! Great content as always Roman.

Wonderful video and regularly go to Adam’s website to salivate on timepieces way above my means to purchase them. But yes, wonderful guy and great appreciation for the vintage pieces.
