hot take: gow ascencion is overhated and deserves more love. sure its the worst game in the series but it doesn't necessarily make it a BAD game. like if other gow games are masterpiece ascencion is pretty good. at least that's how i see it
You know, I would say that Chains of Olympus is the worst one. It doesn't make it Bad, though. At the times, When psp games were popular it was tough to such a cool game like God of War to a portable console. As for me, Ascension's problem with plot gets overlooked due to this game's New mechanics and lots of interest stuff like puzzles or battles that are done extremely good imo.

Hot Take: Rage of the Titans is the best rage mode. You can use all secondary weapons, if you want that, and the L1 move with a high combo number is amazing. Pair it with Cronos’s Rage and you’re sure to finish an encounter with no issues.

Hot take: In God of War Ragnarok they should allow Kratos to use his weapons in rage mode, in 2018 it was good but it feels like you're underpowered because you use your fists only with the addition of stumps and throwing rocks. How cool would it be if in the sequel we are able to use the Blades of Chaos, the Leviathan Axe and Thor's Hammer while you are in rage. Just the endless possibilities with this extra touch is insane.
the thing with that is tho, I prefer kratos having fists because that shows that in rage mode he doesnt need any weapons to destroy his enemies. In rage mode he only uses his fists, but even with his fists he is very powerful. They should rather have the fists doing way more damage tbh

@@newhybrid101 wouldnt be the same for me tho. It would look like kratos always needs to rely on his weapons to beat his opponents and to do major damage, which isnt true. Even with his fists he can destroy others.
Every series have it's own rage mode GOW 4 if you allowed both weapon and fist I think it will be easy game
My only counter is that wouldn't change it very much in terms of moveset and abilities. At least if they do that then make unarmed a full move on its own.
Hot take: The sisters of Fate are the most evil characters in god of war because they control the fate of all. That means every death, war, and disaster was caused by them.

hot take: in GodOfWar Ragnarok, they should add a feature that allows us to grab Atreus and throw him in the air so that he can shoot enemies from the skies, maybe even give Atreus arrows that do area damage. like with Magni and Modi, when Magni throws Modi up in the air and Modi comes crashing down on us with his lightning attacks.

GoW 3 having the worst rage is not a hot take its just a fact
My only major complaint is how unbalanced the revenants are. They are too tanky for a fast zoner.
And yes, the axe is clearly more powerful. But I really enjoy the blades in the 2nd stance and the running R2 strike.

My favorite was shield/bare hands combat in GoW 4 but sadly it got nerfed to hell for absolutely 0 reason in ragnorok
Finally someone giving the Ghost of Sparta sprint attack some love!
It's so useful for controlling a combat situation which is a shame when so few people appreciate it. I've actually used it speed run the game and my God did it help.
Mildy Hot Take: Blade of Olympus shouldn't have been locked to spartan rage in GoW 3. It should have replaced the Nemesis Whip.
Hot take: the titans in gow 3 were so weak i really thought that the fight was going to be bigger than the great war (love the channel)

Agreed about the one about Typhon. He's like the Kaiju-Godzilla of greek mythology that gave Zeus a hard time, even besting him in the Gods vs Titans war in the greek myth story. So it's like a wasted opportunity to do something with his character.

Hot Take: Thanatos is a better villain than Hades despite being somewhat similar to him. Thanatos felt more impactful than Hades.
Hades got his soul snatched but deimos dying was what took kratos's soul, he becomes extremely vengeful after this as the cherry on top of his entire dead fam.
hot take: we have discussed this in the past at some point but the barbarian hammer should've had some kind rolling move , well not realy a roling move but more like a side step move like GoW4 had ,if there was something like that in GoW2 i'd use way more often

Well , I just made a video where I used my fists ignored the axe entirely until I got the blades of chaos. Blades are not just a weapon , they are my emotion.

Hot take : I prefer what the first gow game has done more than the second one, The first game talks to the player in the shape and design of Kratos better than the second one. His face makes you feel how exhausted he is and his willingness to kill and how you can see death in his eyes. I also liked the way the story was told and its cutscenes and The levels designe was great. All these traps and monsters give a great challenge to the player. I also see that the Gameplay is smooth and faster than gow 2 when combowing enemys.
Hot take: gow 4s spartan rage mode is very underpowered in the late game and im pretty sure not alot of people leveled it up that much during the last hours of the game if at all
Yes! I play gow 4 a lot of times in new game plus and after one point spartan rage doesnt do any damage

Hot take: chests that upgrade your health/stamina/magic were very tedious and hard to find in gow3, and it was very painful for trophy hunting as well

In the older games mostly gow 2 and 1 when you slam the blades it makes like a explosion of Fire why did this not make an appearance in 3 or 4 it looks awesome! It makes an explosion of fire and awesomeness what more could you want

Possibly while making remakes of original games they are gonna make a trilogy possibly so the 7 games including betrayal will be made in to 3 games with many side contents too and side boses as well, the side contents and the side boses story will mostly cover the other Greek heroes lore and the stuff out of Greek mythology
Just like what they did with norse games
The older games with tons of side content and additional bosses in main quest and the obviously an already a good story will make these remakes a must buy and a master of masterpieces
I can see this series being alive upto 2050 with all the remakes and remasters on the way

The blades for me are best combined with the talisman of the realms combined with the blades of fury attack or somethin

Ragnarok should be like gow 3 especially combat/story wise just like killing out the gods but only with Atreus and ofc saving Tyr in the way

A extremely hot take : the colossus of Rhodes boss fight was the best boss fight in GOW 2 .
Yeah, i love replaying that part. Actually the whole act 1 of GoW2 is my favourite part in the whole game
But he only has like 3 attacks that are really easy to avoid.
I think gow 4 rage is better than gow 3 rage,in gow 3 it's just a very strong weapon but in gow 4 you can throw rocks,punch,slam the ground etc

2: I want to not add to much runic attacks in how Ragnarok and the fire of the blades color changes to red When you make it strongest upgrades (love you and your content to)

I hope since the norse saga is done and kratos has finally accepted himself that he gets a power boost and we get some crazy feats from him he is so fucking cool
Hot Take: The problem with the Blades of Chaos is that they generally don't behave like blades on the end of chains. They're more like swords with extending blades. If you swing at an enemy, the chains don't have any meaningful interaction. Imagine if you could swing at an enemy, but overshoot and allow the chain to wrap around their neck. A second input could retract the blade either spinning the enemy around or popping their head clean off. Imagine being able to strangle enemies with the chains.

Hot Take: gow 2 and gow 3 are the best gow games in the entire greek saga (speaking just greek saga) also i love yo content :)
The thing is it depends on skill if ur using it normally then sure blade of chaos is better but if u have very good skill and runic attacks the axe can be super powerful
Hot take(?): the weapon selection in god of war 2 is infinitely beter than 3
My main problem with gow3 has always been that only 2 weapons feel truly unique that being the blades and nemean cestus and then you have 2 more bladed chain weapons which is just very boring to me
In god of war 2 u have the blades of course but also a spear, a giant Hammer and u get the 2nd coolest weapon in the series the blade of olympus in ng+
Which imo is just a way cooler selection and better variety than 3s weapons.

Hot Take: gow 3 is by far the best in the series ( at least imo), it picked up literally seconds after gow 2's ending, the literal first boss fight is freaking Poseidon himself, and the satisfaction with killing all the gods, if i had one complaint, its that they sucked at trying to redeem Kratos to turn good, but i think that could've solved if he killed all the gods like in gow 3 but then went to Norse Mythology and get his heart changed from Faye and ofc BOY. Overall a great game and my favorite from the franchise (also love your content)
Hot Take. Are we gonna see Kratos use his Super Spartan Rage from GoW Ghost of Sparta in GoW Ragnarok? I love to see him use that again. It looks very powerful. Also if BOY dies or gets hurt to near death will that trigger the Super Spartan Rage?

Runes being tied to rage wouldn't of been awful but it only would of worked well if spartan rage was about dealing damage, which it really isn't it's about getting back health most of the time
Hot take: the best rage is the god of war 1 rage because not only does it make Kratos feel even more like a bad ass but is so much fun to use tho god of war 3 is a close second.
Hot take: GOW2 has the best story from any of the other GOW games
Hot Take: the Devil May Cry, God of War, & Kingdom Hearts series have some of the Best combat & bosses ever.
hot take: the old kratos's armors/styles is better than all the new ones
Hot take: God of War 3 has some of the biggest plot holes in the entire series. If Athena knew that the evils in the box would be released when Kratos opened it to kill aries, why would she assign him to do so? Also why would Zeus help him as the grave digger if he also knew that was going to happen?
Hot Take 1:
Gow (2005) has the best traps ( "map gimmic" like the sacrifice challenge , the fire ball room , the top of hades room , the last trap of pandora's temple... ) and puzzle , GowIII muse puzzle wtf was that !
Hot Take 2 :
Gow(2005) has the hardest end game challenge , challenges of the gods , you can not save on your way in them making is really hard to finish .
Hot Take 3 :
Any of the 3 main gow game are not better than the other , they are the base in there speciality , gow(2005) is "map gameplay" , gowII is story and lvl design(not "map gameplay") and gowIII is the combat .
Gow(2005) > GowIII, fight me !

This is what we call a contradiction.
This is my Hot Take:
I think that sigrun is the best God of War Boss of the whole series, mechanically speaking at least, she takes all the special moves of all the valkyries and uses them randomly testing all the skills that you would have developed until that point to counter them:
- Timing: The stepping and flying attack that she does multiple times.
- Dodging: When she flies around trying to grab you, some combo finishers attacks, the fire meteor attack, the big ring throwing, the scythe waves and the surprise one when she rams towards you with a red circle on it.
- Parrying: That one attack where she lifts up the ground and charges at you, the scythe twirl double attack and the 3 hit combo.
- Shield: The ice firing attack, the smoky knife projectiles, the little rings throwing, the wing spin attacks and the short wing hit combo.
- Movement and quick turn: The one when she moves her wings and blinds you.
- Aiming with the axe: That one when she starts spinning and finishes with a ground strike.
- Runic attacks or shield breaking: When she shields herself with her wings.
All the while you have to take the chance after each counter to attack her with your runic attacks and expect not to die, it's one of the hardest, yeah, but is the only one where the victory rests only in playing smart instead of aggressive and tanky, she doesn't have any goons, unfair boss phases, wide hitboxes or any checkpoints.
hot take:god of war 2 is the best game of the series and it will still be the best
I think if you look at the blades lorewise, Kratos just picked them back up after years of leaving it gathering dust under the house so he probably forgot most of his move and now he needs time to relearn it🤔

Prophecy are not true because in cronos time prophecy is that zeus will kill the cronos his father but didn’t kill by zeus it was kratos who kill cronos. I think there will be plot twist regarding prophecy
Well, you see, the problem with this argument is that the Blades are better, but also the Axe is better.
Gow3 HAS new game plus if you get the hidden items you can use them on replays of the same difficulty to get an xp multiplier and full meters through the whole game plus some other stuff i cant remember
Hot take : dont forget the moves of melee attacks in god of war 4 it is the best by far
Hot take: The lack of alternate styles for items and armour pieces in Gow 4 sucks. I’ll try to explain. For example, I love the look of the level 5 Blades of Chaos, but I also love the look of the level 1/2 blades as well. Problem is, you can’t change the style to what you want. Same goes for armour. I love the look of some of the pieces, but I feel like it would’ve been better if there was an option to change the look without sacrificing it’s stats. Imo, there should’ve been an option to use hacksilver to change the visual style of whatever item you want but retain its original stats. You could take the level 5 Blades of Chaos w/ Grips of The Valkyrie and use hacksilver to change its look to the level 1 blades w/ default wooden grips, but keep the stats of the level 5 blades and Valkyrie grips. Another example is equipping the armour of ares but use hacksilver to change its style to Kratos’ default outfit at the start without losing out on the ares armour’s stats. Gow 4 is my favourite game in the series (for the time being at least because idk if Ragnarok will take that title) and I’m not saying the lack of a feature like this completely ruins the game, but it’s definitely something that irks me as to why it’s not a feature. I know this is probably more of a nitpick than a hot take, but I wanted to share my opinion on it.

something similar was done to costumes in Ghost of Tsushima, where you could change the style but stats didn't change. It'd be awesome if they added it to GoWR
Hot take: god of war games should have an option to delete a specific save file. I personally have so many save files in god of war III and it is sometimes a pain to go through them and find the one I want
Hot take the hades claws are the best weapon in GoW 3 (in terms of looking and fun but not for damage)

Hot take: GoW 4 removed too much of the original combat without replacing it. The runic attacks should've been more like Ascension's magic attacks, not a weird merge of the L1 attacks and the Items/Thera's Bane. They didn't need to use the 3rd person shooter camera, and should've never used it since they wanted it solely because it worked better for cutscene transitions (in other words, prioritizing story over gameplay, the worst decision a game dev can make). They shouldn't have removed jumping aside from the double jump, that was ok to remove. They could've just nerfed the air combat to a basic light attack, and a basic heavy attack. Ragnarok highlights this even more with those slam attacks. You should be allowed to use weapons during rage. It'd be way more fun to have rage exclusive attacks for the Blades and the Axe, instead of just punching, slamming, and throwing a boulder.
Also, "Echos of an Old Life" should've been a remix of old music, maybe "The Death of Kratos", and then the fight music should've been a new version of Vengeful Spartan.

I've been thinking that the rage moves should've been runic attacks for the shield & fists. But your idea of weapon especific attacks is something worth expanding upon 💭
Hot take: The first God of war game was the best, because it was not about, a cliche revenge story before the sequel's. It was about redemption, and regret.
You loosen the chains and lose the blade, you throw the axe the axe comes back. Axe is better

hot take: in god of war 2018 you should be able to equip more runic attacks like in the old god of war games

Hot take: God of war 2 is the best game in the series; the scenary, the level design, the weapons, the enemy designs and the many bosses. I've always enjoyed that game the most and its my favourite.
As you remember there is a Ng+ in god of war 2 , they didn't add it to god of war 3 because you can skip the whole game, now you skip it with a glitch and that's normal, if it was with an actual Ng+ it will be like the creators don't care

underutilized indeed. . even the skill tree doesn't have as much skills in it. some are just additional stats bonus.
Hot take: when we started 2 game we should have all magics we aquired in 1 game and have one bonus one since then kratos became the g of war. A personel magic that was just for kratos before he lost the power. A cool factor and something to unlock in the new game + like the poseidon rage.

He gave it back to the gods all magics he got in GOW1 except Poseidon's Rage, Poseidon told him he could keep it, because he defeated the Hydra.
@@vodkaEditz bro, our boy poseidon was brutalized in 3rd game. Kratos sunked his city in ghost of sparta, killed his women, and what not to poseidon in 3rd game. I havent read the novels but i dont see what poseidon did to deserve all of that. Overall thanks for the info man. If you possible find the link please send them to me. hot take: gow 1,2,and 3 were way ahead of their time cuz even today playing them is so much fun and they shouldve won alot more awards especially gow2(for obv reasons)

Hot take:bow of Apollo and nemesis whip is one of the best weapons in god of war3 these two are so good for juggling enemies especially bow of Apollo

Point of correction, in God Of War 3, he used Blade Of Exile not Blade Of Chaos.. Kratos used Blade Of Chaos only in God Of War: Chain Of Olympics, God Of War Ascension and God Of War 1.. God Of War: Ghost Of Spartar and God Of War 2, he used Blade Of Athena.
Hot take: at least one of the dreki boss fights jumpscared you
Hot take: There is no point for Kratos to wield Mjolnir.
The Leviathan Axe is canonically superior to it, and if we need a way to deal bludgeoning damage we have our fists.
Better to showcase a more unique and interesting weapon rather than reuse Thors.

You trippin.... the axe is amazing but the blades are amazing, not to mention the nostalgia factor and even how the game introduced the blades into the game it was peak. Anyways imma just mention that i saw tyre in the new trailer holding the blades which is gonna be cool to see. But yeah interesting argument my friend and well done on the nice clean clear points on your argument.
Hot take: As the new chapter for Kratos ends in God of War: Ragnarök, I think that Sony Santa Monica should realy go back and make a remake of the og God Ω War or make a prequel or both and let me explain about it. In 2025 God of War franchise will close 20 years since the first game, It would be great to give us a God of War 1 remake, it would give nostalgia to old fans and will let the new ones to experience the story better, the cutscenes should really be replaced by playable flashback (as general Kratos, weaker as mortal, but strong as great general) and for the prequal, the God of War franchise has a loooot of cut content in levels, places, weapons and story, they could use it to make a game between God of war: Chains of Olympus and God of War 1 (this has worked with other games, see Bloodborne), open world and this time great, not like some other prequel...
*Don'th forget that Kratos had been a champion of the gods and served the for ten years before the events of God of War 1*
Hot take: In GoW rangnarok, you shouldn’t be able to use mjolnir as a weapon, instead it should be a really strong talisman or maybe it shatters and you can use a piece of it to upgrade Atreus, but having a THIRD weapon in your arsenal just seems a bit too much for me
